Author's note: Sorry for the long wait, I've been making some final decisions on where I want this story to go. Thank you for the lovely reviews, and thank you for reading [:

"This seems almost a little too easy." I sighed while approaching the enormous plot of land that held Weston College. Ciel and I were to enter the school at different times and act although we don't know each other, which really played into both of our favours. Although he didn't know it yet, I knew we'd be meeting in Sebastian's soon-to-be Professor Michaelis' office on occasion.

After dealing with the dimensional part of the plan, I gained a few "memories" of being Allen Carter. I had a decent number of friends in the Violet House and am known for my talents in piano. I'm a second-year student at Weston College but I'm a new student so I don't have a fag, nor am I a fag myself.

Minutes passed as I tried to locate the Key, but to no avail. At least its signals were getting stronger, but there was no definite location that I was being drawn to. With any luck, the Key would be established by the end of the day.

"P-Please wait!"

I turned at the sound of the familiar words called by a familiar voice, though it was much brighter than usual. I smirked as I saw Ciel just barely make it through the gates before they closed.

"I warned you to leave a little earlier." I murmured as I brushed past him briefly. I sensed the irritation radiating from him and simply smiled before going off on my merry way. We both had our own things to do, after all.

The school worked similarly to my own, except it was an all-boys school and it was of much higher class. That, and the discipline and order and overall grace of the school were far higher than a high school of Reality. I'm not even so sure that grace exists at all in a high school.

I planned on getting to know the rest of the campus while I left Ciel to his endeavours, but I soon felt a pulse run through my body and a force draw me towards the murmuring. My eyes widened as the pulse came again, strong this time. The Key was close by, and it was only getting closer.

My lips pressed into a firm line when I realized what the source of this alarm was. As expected, standing on the lawn was a confused Ciel. Approaching him were four older students.

The Prefects.

The Key.

I narrowed my eyes.

No, something isn't quite right. Their presence was setting off some sort of alarm, but it wasn't them. It was something about them. The path to the Key is through them. That was, without a doubt, a fact. I narrowed my eyes, knowing what this meant.

Ciel will have much to do with the prefects later on. I myself will have to get myself involved. A scenario like this has happened before as well. I have to meddle, but I'll have to keep it at a bare minimum. Right now, I had to get the ball rolling. With a heavy sigh, I carefully pushed through the crowd until I made my way to the centre of it all.

The initial exchange of dialogue had already occurred, so at least I avoided cutting some of that out.

"Ah, Phantomhive!" I exclaimed with a slightly surprised expression. His eyes demanded what I was doing, but I continued with this necessary act nevertheless and turned to the prefects. Before I began to speak, however, a ripple seemed to form across the area. I knew that only Ciel would notice it. "Please forgive me. I am Carter of Violet Wolf; the one responsible for showing Phantomhive around today, since it is his first day attending Weston College. It appears that I let him escape my sight for a moment."

"Oh, Carter. You are quite the new student yourself, are you not?" Redmond spoke with a smile and I nodded once. "We will leave the new student in your hands, then." My heart thumped heavily and I felt my eyes widen. That was it. There was the Key. I pressed my lips together as Redmond poked Ciel's forehead gently. "Look out from now on, Phantomhive. And you, Carter; we leave him in your care."

"Yes, of c—" I began to respond, but it felt although something had caught my throat and blocked any sound from escaping. My chest felt heavy and dizziness washed over me for a brief moment.

This was the sensation I had been waiting for. The sensation that arrives after I've had a taste of what the Key is. I felt a smile creeping to my lips, though I had to keep myself from letting it go from a gentle smile to a victorious one. The Key was evident, yes, but it would be a bit of a hassle to obtain.

Obtaining the trust of the prefects doesn't seem like a small task, after all. But the trust of those four students is the Key and so, I will have to do my best to get them in my favour as soon as possible.

"Carter! Are you alright?" One of the prefects asked, but I'm not quite sure which one it was because the effects of discovering the Key had just begun to wear off.

Redmond responded in kind by supporting me by the shoulders, but I soon gave him and the others a reassuring smile before straightening myself out. "My apologies; I'm quite alright, thank you. I will be sure to take of him." I said while gesturing over towards Ciel in kind.

With that, the prefects left. Ciel immediately turned to me. All it took was one hard stare to ask what in the world I was doing, but I simply gave him a stare that told him to be patient.

"Things took a surprising turn." I murmured, knowing McMillan would make his appearance soon. "I'll have to explain it to you at a later time. For now, I've been a student here for two days and it's my job to take care of you today." I spoke in a hushed tone before stepping back as the freckled first-year entered the scene.

"Aren't you lucky! You stepped on the lawn and didn't get punished!" The child exclaimed with a bright smile while nudging Ciel's back, causing him to cry out. I smiled and watched as the scene played out. McMillan introduced himself as expected, Ciel asked about the "y things" and the P4 as expected, and McMillan answered as expected.

It wasn't long before the bell rang and the freckled boy perked up, exclaiming that they'd be late for class if they didn't hurry up. With a small nudge, I pressed Ciel to go along with him and gave him a reassuring nod. I would have to explain the new scenario to him and Sebastian once the day was over, most likely after Ciel realizes that he had to be in favour of the prefects in order to accomplish his goal.

How interesting. I didn't expect our intentions at this school to end up being so similar.
