Am I a Hero?

Dipper headed back downstairs after his little talk with Riku.

If this arrangement was going to work then he hoped beyond hope right now that Riku would find a way to seen there trust. Otherwise he was just going to be paranoid throughout most of his time here. In fact he didn't even know how much time he was going to be here. All he knew that this was Mabel's problem and she was going to be responsible for him at the end of the day.

"Heh, look at me, I'm talking about Riku like he's some sort of lost puppy," Dipper chuckled as he opened his Uncles journal on the desk, "Now let's see, Keyblade, Keyblade...Keyblade"

"If you are so desperate to find the answers of the blade, perhaps I could be of assistance, after all I did have interaction with it in the past" Jafar said from his lamp, voice echoing inside.

Dipper eyed him with a glare, "You know I'm never going to make a wish Jafar stop trying"

"But it would be so easy, the power of the Genie is a vast and great one. The only thing it cannot effect of course it the powers of love, death and Keyblades….Though maybe together, we could find a way so that it could"

"What does that mean?"

"I've heard the way you speak of that young Wendy girl"

Dippers eyes widened, "Woah, no way! That is like….Dude!"

Jafar, the evil Vizier from Agrabah, had become a thorn in Dipper's side now for the better part of a few weeks. Ever since Toffee, the Mewman lizard had given him the lamp back at Hollow Bastion for safe keeping, he had been locked up in his Grunke Ford's vault. Away from anyone who would use his Genie's power for evil, or just accidently set him free.

Iago was horrified by the fact his former boss lived here, Mabel didn't trust him, and they had to keep Stan from using him for whatever money making scheme. Still it was Dipper who wanted him safe, being one of Maleficent's ex minions, he wasn't about to let someone so dangerous near the worlds again. It was his way of being able to feel like he was helping. Being a real hero to the worlds, like Sora.

From what Little Dipper had studied Ford had little information on Genie's. Apart from the basic lore of three wishes and other things he didn't know quite a lot. He thought about asking various people around town and perhaps finding something that could prove useful about learning about these ancient creatures. All he knew about Jafar was that he was from Agrabah but since he didn't have any ability to go there, he was pretty much stuck

"It's a shame you do not harness my talents boy. I guess it is the fate of heroes though, they try to hold onto there moral sense, but because of that, allow things to slip through their fingers. Things that would have saved them so much grief, had they just allowed themselves to bend the rules just a little bit to take such a risk".

Dipper raised his eyebrow, "You seem to know a lot of about heros"?

"I studied in the grand halls of the archives of Agrabah palace boy, believe me, I know many a legend of the heroes of old. Many of them sadly sharing the same fate of inadequacy or weakness that allowed the darkness to fester".

Dipper felt his stomach churn, "Well, I'm gonna beat the darkness, or well, first find out what happened, then I'm gonna beat the darkness, just like Grunkle Ford would have wanted"

"Perhaps," Jafar stated, sounding coy, "But the Heartless are not the only dark force in the world, and neither was Maleficent. Even back in Agrabah, many ancient secrets were left untold. Many dark and terrible things laid there buried in the sand. Perhaps your Great Uncle might have wished to explored it, should he had ever gotten the chance. I know I have dabbled in those adventures from time to time".

"You act like it some sort of different source of magic"

"It is….Magic is a universal source but there are various types, dark magic, genie magic, each with its own rules, some more powerful than others...Though there are universal laws that govern everything, where they come from I don't know...Not even the reports of Ansem the wise detail that"

Dipper tapped his chin and sighed, "It all sounds so confusing, i'm not getting anywhere aren't I"

"Dipper?" Came a soft voice from upstairs, looking up he saw his sister Mabel walk down towards him, "Dipper, it's late you should get some sleep".

"Oh Mabel, I uh, was just doing some late night reading is all"

"This again, it's always this," Mabel eyed Jafar's lamp and frowned, "He hasn't been giving you any trouble has he?"

"What! No-NO….Not at all"

Jafar chuckled, "Of course not Mistress Pines, I wouldn't dream of it. Just informing your dear brother about the fate of heros, and there normal downfall"

"Hey, we fought the bad guys we are just as good as heros as anyone else," Mabel declared

"Even the Keyblade Master?"

"Uh…...Yeah!"

Dipper frowned, "I wouldn't go that far, that is even if Sora even won, for all we know he could be dead"

"Don't say that" Mabel scolded,

"What it's true"

Dipper never had complete fate in Sora, even when he first met him. Sure he got more skilled with his Keyblade as time went on but he was still for lack of a better term naive. He didn't have any of the brains or the intellect to really solve the problem. Most of the time he jsut went in headfirst without much strategy or planning. Everyone said it was going to be the strength of his heart that won the day but that never sat right. Heart was good but without planning or strategy then it would all crumble.

"Riku shouldn't hear that though, he was his friend, how'd you feel if I said Grunkle Ford was….

Dipper eyes widened.

"Oh, Dipper, Dipper, I know it's probably isn't true"

Dipper closed his eye and clenched his fist, "Nope, your right...I need to stay strong, he survived for thirty years in the multiverse I'm sure he's fine now"

He didn't want to believe that his Grunkle Ford was gone for good. He couldn't, he had just started to get know him. The author of the journals, the very reason that made Gravity Falls so unique and interesting. If he believed he was gone then that would be to much of a loss even for him. After getting everyone else back, he didn't want to gain it at the loss of his newly found Grunkle.

"Yeah, yeah, you gotta think positive bro-bro, Grunkle Ford is probably fine, Sora is probably fine. The fact Gravity Falls is back should indicate that everything is fine"

Mabel placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled.

"We beat Gideon, we beat Bill Cipher, we survived the apocalypse ….Kinda...I'm not sure if it really is the apocalypse . So long as were together we can endure anything, just gotta remember that and well ...Well I just said the we can endure anything part so don't have ot say it again"

Dipper just laughed, "Yeah, I get it sis, I get it"

She was right, they had a wild summer so far here at Gravity Falls. Almost losing there home to a child physche named Gideon. Discovering the mysteries of the author who turned out to be there other Great Uncle they didn't even know about.

"As far I'm concerned, this summer you've been a hero"

"What about you Mabel?"

Mabel snickered, "Hero is my middle name"

Dipper rolled his eyes and smiled.

Mabel was one of if not the only person in the world who was able to get him to calm down. She was like a rock, her kind and loving nature was unfathomable. Sometimes he wondered just how big a heart she had. Other Times she wondered why they didn't have Keyblades together, were they not worthy. Perhaps not, though he did like to dream.

"Come on Dipper, lets go to bed"

Dipper looked up at Mabel who was halfway across the stairs and sighed, "Yeah, coming to bed sis"

"Good night Master Pines….Hopefully will talk, when I'm outside this lamp"
