It's been who knows how many days. Who knows how many days, since Gold accepted her gruesome fate of saving the world.
And finding out where the hell she was.
"What?! Why the hell do you live in the Dark Continent! Couldn't you live somewhere nice, like a beach or something?" Exclaimed Gold once she opened the door to reveal a mass of black, black and more black.
"But it's bright, open, and too big. I hate it~" He whined.
Sometimes, Gold had to remind herself that she was dealing with a thousand-year-old Magi and not a six-year-old child.
"Haagenti!" She called and raised her sword to the sky. On her call, the familiar symbol glowed on her plain sword turned into a black broadsword outlined with red and orange like magma before bursting into flames.
Getting into a stance, she swung the sword at a golem that Yunan had conjured for her training. It was just this big mass of rock that was a pain to cut through and really used a lot of muscle strength.
On the first day anyway.
Yunan told her it has been six months since she started. Gold had no idea how many days those had.
But after those six months, she could easily slice through one like butter with or without the help of Haagenti. Muscle pains only came at the end of the day when she's cut through a thousand.
But it was essential for her to do this if she wanted to protect that boy and eventually save the world. Even saying it in her head sounded weird.
Save the world. Save the world. Save the world.
Gold crapped herself a little there.
"You're getting good at this," Yunan commented as he sat on the porch drinking tea and eating biscuits.
"Thanks," she grumbled as she sliced through another one.
"Haagenti! Full body equip!"
Sometime during the training, Yunan taught her how to do a full body Djinn equip. Once they figured that she had enough magoi and make sure she didn't explode.
Swinging her flaming sword, Gold easily took out a ring of them within seconds. And in the next few minutes, there was nothing left but the burnt grass where there used to be rocks trying to choke her.
Yunan clapped and Gold sighed as she switched back. Usually, she would fell drained and weak, the side effects of using Djinn equip. But after using it so many times she felt nothing except maybe a bit hungry for a sandwich... or ten.
"Here you go," Yunan offered twenty sandwiches. Six months and he still hasn't gotten better at making cheese sandwiches. But Gold was too hungry to care as she devoured them in record time.
"Your progress has gotten along faster than I expected," he hummed.
"Really?" Gold was genuinely surprised. Yunan nodded.
"Yes. The way you mastered a full body Djinn equip in a few months is impressive. You're a natural." Gold wanted to think he was proud, but the way he said it was a bad thing. Just another mystery to add to the long list.
Not that there weren't a large pile of mysteries already. Six months and Yunan was still tight-lipped about the whole thing with the lady in her dreams. But ever since meeting him, the dreams have stopped and she never saw the lady again. Never has Gold slept so peacefully in her life.
So she decided to leave that mystery behind and decided to figure out what she can do. Which was training to protect Aladdin. And the world.
"Is that good?" She asked meekly.
"It is," he nodded probably now realizing his tone," I just wasn't expecting it."
"You get used to it," Gold said as she drank large gulps of water. Yunan chuckled.
"I suppose you have?"
"Not at all," Gold disagreed. Yunan smiled as he stood.
"Well, you're going to have to. I'm sending you off to another dungeon," he stated calmly. Gold spat out the water she was drinking.
"Already?!"
"It's been six months."
"I still don't know how long that is," Gold shook her head, "And plus, I already have one." She patted the sword on her back. It used to rest on her hip, but she changed after she knocked down a treasured artifact.
Yunan raised a brow.
"You plan on saving the world with just one?"
"When you put it that way, yes," he shook his head.
"Gold, I understand that you're scared."
"Try terrified," she corrected. He ignored her.
"But you're just going to have to accept that you're destined to save the world," he said firmly, blue eyes hardened.
"Oh that, I've accepted," Gold said after a while, "It's just that I really don't want to go into a dungeon. They creep me out."
"Well I assure you this one isn't hard," he said with a smile.
"It isn't?"
"Not for someone with a weapon," Yunan pointed out.
"So it's hard."
"It isn't."
"You just said-" Gold was cut off when the ground shook. In front of the wide field in front of her a large magic circle appeared as a tower began to rise. She watched with her eyes wide and jaw dropped as it stood there.
"Close your mouth, you'll attract flies," Yunan winked as he walked towards it.
"Hang on. You mean now?" Gold panicked.
"Well you're prepared aren't you?" He raised a brow pointing to her sword.
"Not mentally." He rolled his eyes.
"Stop being so dramatic," he scolded, "You'll be fine."
Gold had a flaming sword and right now swordsmen skills. She figured he was right on this one.
"I'll be fine," she forced herself to say.
"Good," he nodded, "Good luck."
"You're not coming?" She asked.
"Of course not. Where would be the fun in that?" He scoffed. Gold felt much better knowing that he found her life entertaining.
She decided not to answer as she walked up the stairs.
"If you hear someone screaming that'll probably be me."
"I can't hear any screaming."
"Thank god," she said before heading in.
