Forgotten Dance; Chapter 5: And they followed him Home

"Oh mails here!" Shigure hummed as he looked through the letters, a couple of bills, brochures, a catalog, and one more piece of male.

"Oh Kyo~ Look's like you got some mail!" he said holding up a pink envelope

"A letter?" the teen said taking the pink envelope

"Oh a secret admire, does our little cat have a secret admire" he giggled much to the others annoyance

"Oh be quit stupid dog…" he mumbled looking at the letter, "I'll be in my room" he said before racing back upstairs

"What was that all about?" Yuki said just walking into the room

"It seems Kyo's got a love letter, ah to be young again~" he giggled again

'Love letter?'

"And it was so cute, in a pretty pink envelope, the color of love"

'Pink…envelope?' as he thought back he remembered an incident in the hallway at school, he had been heading to his next class when he spotted Tenge, the dance teacher, exciting the office, as he moved to turn he had dropped something, an envelope with a pink color. Quickly he picked it up, before heading back off.

Lavender eyes narrowed, something was definitely going on,

Saturday morning,

It was a beautiful Saturday morning, as children played on the playground watched over by the eyes of their parents and people jogged and talked across the lush park.

On a bench seated on one of the walkways, two figures sat. One with purple hair, postured as he freely read a book. Next to him was a taller more aloof individual with dual black and white hair currently holding up a newspaper.

"Any sign of him?" the taller male whispered

"No not yet" the other replied giving a page a simple page, the taller gave a short groan

"Are you sure about this, we've been out here for a while now" an hour to be exact, earlier the two had snuck out of the house and came to the park. Yuki had found out that the teacher would walk through this park early in the mornings on the weekends and on some mornings before work.

"It's been half an hour, where if this guy already" he huffed growing bored just sitting around, violet eyes peered up from his book, looking around he searched through the people around the park, suddenly he stopped looking back he spotted a familiar head of blue.

"He's here" it was hard to tell at first glance, but looking closer the features became clearer and he was certain it was the dance instructor.

"Let's go" closing his book it was time to begin the plan, "Finally!" Hatsuharu grinned happy they could leave the park.

"Let's get all the dirt on this guy" the male was committed to search the teacher and discover all he could, he refused to let him take advantage of his cousin.

Through the first part of the plan, after they followed the teacher out of the park they kept a good pace away making sure they weren't seen by their target, which was relatively easy since the teacher, outside of class seemed a bit…ditsy.

Peeking out from behind the building, the two had watched as the Tenge chatted with a woman in front of the flower stand. The older teen watched how the teacher chatted with the woman who giggled now and then, blushing.

'What's he up to' Tenge suddenly pointed at something, the woman turned reached up before bringing down a bunch of flowers showing them to the man who nodded. After paying the money he gave a few final words to woman before walking off.

"He's leaving"

"Come on" moving from the building again the two followed after the teacher, after walking for few blocks and taking a bus. They found themselves in front of,

"A hospital?" it seemed rather strange, but they continued their plan and watched the teacher. Standing outside flowers in hand, he looked as though he was waiting for someone.

"What's he waiting for?" as the two waited the doors to the hospital slide open, out rolled a woman being pushed by one of the nurses. The woman in the chair had long brown hair that was tied and wearing a log robe over her clothing. But what caught their attention more was what the woman was holding, wrapped and nestle in a blue blanket.

The two looked at each other, with a motion Hatsuharu pulled out a camera taking snapshots of the encounter.

"What do you think their talking about?" Yuki questioned watching as the two exchanged between the teacher and woman. Suddenly they watched as the teacher, after handing the nurse the flowers he had bought, was handed the child, carefully cradling it in his arms.

'That guy…' his eyebrow ticked in aggravation having come up with his own idea, that woman, that child, him…

"He's leaving" Yuki said, they watched as he returned the child to his mother, with one final hug and a lingering hold of her hands, the teacher gave a bow before walking off.

'Got him now'

"Come on" the two continued to follow the older male, they seemed to go all over the city stopping at various shops and places, though many seemed like regular stops. They were now inside a candy shop, the air thick with the small of sugar, chocolate, and artificial flavoring covered in various colors and hues that would give anyone a toothache from just looking inside.

The teacher seemed to be staring at an array of sweets and chocolates in a display case,

"He's been staring at that display case for ten minutes now" Hatsuharu groaned

"Your right, we need to get closer" moving carefully through the shop they managed to put themselves in the isle right behind him making sure to remain inconspicuous. Dark blue eyes scanned through the case eying every treat inside, when his eyes caught something in the glass,

"You!" the two males tensed at the teacher's voice, "What are you doing here?"

"We're caught" slowly peeking up the two prepared for a confrontation, until…

"I can't believe it, Konpeito Sugar Candy!" he seemed to gush, his eyes sparkling as he took the candy in hand, "My favorite! I can't remember the last time I had some of these!" he smiled taking one and trying it gushing at the sweet flavor

"Yummy~" he remember seeing commercial and watching anime with his favorite treat inside

The two sweat dropped at the older man's personality and behavior

"This guy…"

"He's a child…"

"I'll defiantly get in trouble laughter, but I just love sweets!" he began making a bag of candy, "There we go" after paying for it at the counter, he thanked the female cashier who blushed at the older male.

"I might get in trouble with Angela, but I can't resist" he smiled popping another piece of candy in his mouth before exiting the shop.

"Hm, now who is Angela?" the two pondered before following the male, after hours of following the male the two had gathered what Yuki concluded as enough evidence and info before returning to the house to compile their findings.

The weekend had come and go and Monday had rolled around, in school, in the room usually used for meetings by the student council, the door opened revealing Hatsuharu,

"So what seems to be the emergency?" Tenge asked, as he was setting up for class one of the students had come to him and said there was an emergency. But as he entered the room he didn't see an emergency, it was then his eyes fell on another familiar student, his blue eyes locking with lavender purple one's.

"Oh? Your Kyo's cousin?" the student didn't say a word, only remained seated at the table, "What's going on?" he was confused

"Please have a seat Mr. Otoro, there's something's I need to discuss with you" the older male still confused wondering what the teen needed to speak to him about,

"Talk? Okay…" taking a seat on the other side of the table, only a few minutes would pass before another teen, a dual haired male who he recognized.

'Both of them? What could the cousins want to talk to him about?'

"You know I was under the impression there was an emergency" he spoke, "If you wanted to talk I have office hours, you didn't need to go through all this trouble"

"Mr. Otoro…"

"Please call me Tenge!" the teacher interrupted

"Right…getting straight to the point I…I mean we have some concerns"

"Concerns?"

"It's in regards to our…cousin" the teacher seemed to come to a realization

"Oh Kyo, is something wrong? He's not in trouble is he?" he asked with a look of concern

"Before that, tell me are you married?" the question seemed to come out of the blue, surprising the dance teacher,

"Married?" he thought for a second before shaking his head, "No…I've never had the luck of marrying" he said almost solemnly

"What about a girlfriend?" Hatsuharu added '

He shook his head

"….boyfriend…" blue eyes widened at this

"Um, this is becoming a rather personal talk…" he noted, "Is there a reason to all this questioning, it's not polite to ask someone, let alone a teacher these kinds of questions" he told them

"Now what is all this about"

"You really wanna know so bad?", blue eyes looked over to the other cousin who sat quietly leering at the teacher with an air of impatience around him,

"Hatsuharu, calm…"

"Let's stop beating around the bush!" placing his hands on the table he stared straight at the older male, "I wanna know…" he paused for a moment,

"What are your intention's with Kyo!?" the question was direct as he stared at the teacher

Out in the hall Kyo had ran to his locker, he had forgotten his homework in his locker and had rushed to get it. Moving back down the hall papers in hand,

"My intentions? I don't think I'm following you" Kyo stopped recognizing the voice, "Tenge?"

"Don't take it the wrong way" Kyo blinked hearing a different, more irritating voice, 'The rat…' looking inside carefully he saw his teacher with not only Yuki, but Hatsuharu as well.

'What are the two up to, again?' he frowned it seemed like every time those two were causing him trouble.

"I still don't understand what you're saying" he repeated,

"What we're saying is that you seem to be very close to the kitten" he folded his arms, "Too close"

"Close? We'll we are teacher and student" he replied, "I like to think I'm close with all my students"

"Yeah but how many teachers invite their students on dates and give private lessons to them in secret!" his voice raised showing signs of aggression.

"Dates...?" he cocked his head in confusion, "Oh, you must mean the ballet" he said in realization

"So you admit it!"

"Well yes, but it's more of a field trip, see I thought it would be fun for the students to see a ballet up close" he stated, "So I called in a favor and got tickets to go see a ballet tonight!" he revealed much to the boys shock

"The ballet…?" Tenge nodded

"I was going to surprise the class today and since I saw Kyo first I had asked him first"

"But the letter?"

"Letter?"

"The one in the pink envelope!"

"We know you were the one who sent it! It was post marked from the school"

"Oh those, well funny thing, when I was making Permission Slips someone had forgotten to switch out the paper they were using before. In the end all the slips came out pink" he said with a slight chuckle

"Wait so they were…permission slips…?" the teacher nodded

"Of course, since the ballet is rather late parents needed to give permission to be out late" he noted as the two males just looked at each other.

"I hope that explains everything, I'm looking forward to the ballet and everyone coming" he added

"Right" Yuki sighed running his hand through his hair, "I think we're done here" standing up the two exited the room leaving the teacher.

'Those two guys, will be trouble for me' he smiled

After school, as Shigure typed away at his typewriter, Tohru cooking dinner in the kitchen, upstairs in his room Kyo stood in front of the his closet. He began searching in his closet for something decent to wear. It was four hours until the ballet was going to begin and he had nothing to wear. It was a ballet so he would probably have to wear a suit and tie or a tux, unfortunately or not he didn't wear things like that because surprise he was never invited out to 'special' events, not even when the 'family' had parties and events he was excluded for obvious reasons.

"Maybe I can us a dress shirt and get a tie from the dog" he probably had a drawer full of them from going to meetings and such. And so he continued to look through his closet, after finding suitable attire he had chosen a nice button up white dress shirt with a pair of black slacks. After rummaging through Shigures closet he managed to find some black dress shoes and a tie, luckily the shoes fit. With a touch up of his hair he found that he was ready, by his standards and with time to spare. Placing the clothing out on the bed he went to go take a quick shower,

Once the door closed to the bathroom, two figures sneaked into the others room careful not to gain attention

"Alright what's the plan?" Hatsuharu asked as Yuki looked at the clothing on the bed, even if he tried not to show Kyo was taking steps to look decent for the ballet,

"The ballet is a few hours away, the cats to stubborn to listen to reason" he sighed, "So we're going to pull a last minute sabotage" he said

"Huh?"

"Ever seen the scene in Cinderella when the stepsisters destroyed Cinderella's dress before she could go to the ball, basically that" he explained

"So we just destroy Kyo's clothes?" it seemed brilliant, "But he'll know it was us" he pointed out

"Not to worry, we'll be having some help" as if on cue a bunch of mice of various sizes appeared into Kyo's room coming out of different spots and went straight for the clothing on the bed, gnawing and chewing on the fabric.

"I'm impressed" Hatsuharu was almost giddy, this would definitely keep Kyo out of that guys hands. After the deed was done, the two sneaked off before Kyo returned from the shower,

A few moments later,

"WHAT THE HELL!?" a voice yelled from the upstairs, the sound of feat tapping against the stairs caught everyone's attention, the door slide open revealing a very upset and very wet Kyo,

"What's all the noise about?" Shigure asked having heard the noise

"Kyo what's wrong?" Tohru asked, a worried look on her face

"Someone or something ruined my clothes!" he tensed, "I leave to take a shower and find it shredded to pieces, it's like it went 5 rounds with a dog!" he said showing the remains of his shirt now nothing but tatters,

"Well that's odd, and rather offensive" Shigure said, "What have done such a thing, I hope we don't have moths" Kyo's eyes ticked

"Moths? Are you joking me! More like vermin!" he leered at the two males at the table, "Or maybe a rat" he tensed

"Don't flatter yourself, I have better things to do" Yuki said stoically, "Besides I've been here reading, some of us have to study" that earned a glare from the other

"What about you?" he leered over at the older male

"Hm, me...nope" Kyo growled he knew those two had something to do with it

"Now calm down no need to get your furs bristled" Shigure tried to keep the peace

"Sorry for your clothes Kyo-san" Tohru seemed to apologize, "Maybe we can fix them"

"That's wouldn't help, everything's nothing but scraps" he groaned, "It would take to long..." with a huff he sat at the table

"Sorry Kyo, looks like you'll have to miss your trip" Shigure said obviously

"Ah cheer up kitten, you'll just have to stay home with us!" Hatsuharu seemed to rub it end, it was adding salt after being smothering a cut with lemon juice,

'I hate my life' the sound of rain filled his ears, great now it was raining. Suddenly there was a knocking sound was heard,

"Oh someone's at the door~" Shigure said in a sing song voice leaving the room to see who it was

"Hello?" opening the door he was meet with a very strange sight, "Oh..."

"Hello there sorry to disturb you" came the polite voice, "Is this the residence of Kyo Sohma?"

"Oh yes it is" he nodded, "May I ask who you are?" he asked looking at the older male standing underneath the umbrella

"Oh my apologies, my name is Tenge Otoro. I'm Kyo's teacher..."

"Oh!"

"Tenge?" Kyo had suddenly appeared behind the other surprising the two males

"What the hell is he doing here?" Hatsuharu snorted not happy to see the other

"I'm sorry for coming unannounced" he apologized, "Unfortunately I have some bad news, because of the storm, I'm afraid the ballet has been cancelled" he said with a disheartened smile

"Cancelled"

'Now I'm not so mad' he had never been so happy for a storm

"So I rescheduled the trip for next week!"

'Damn it!' he hated the rain, hated it!

"Oh thank you for coming to tell us" Shigure said, "But you didn't have to come all this way especially in this weather"

"Hn, it's no problem. I would have called but...I never really got a number from Kyo on the register sheet" he explained, "I remembered where I dropped you off last and here I am"

"Plus I didn't want you coming to the ballet and the storm" he added

"Well thank you again" Shigure smiled, "See Kyo when one door closes another opens!"

"Yeah, yeah" he rolled his eyes, but when he looked at his teacher he looked off almost in embarrassment

"I hope you didn't go to any big trouble, anyway have a good night" and with one final smile and a wave he left back

"Well that was nice of him" Shigure said, but as he closed the door and turned back, he blinked sensing a variety of emotions, from tense frustration to growing anger.

'Did I miss something...?' he blinked in confusion and worry

After the last week, Kyo had managed to get his hands on a decent suit this time, to keep from another 'incident' of his clothing becoming a snack for some creature, he had kept it at school. After taking a shower, he grabbed his jacket he headed down the stairs and towards the door,

"Oh Kyo dinners almost ready!" Tohru said catching the teen before he left, it was then she noticed how nice the teen was dressed, "Oh are you going somewhere?" she asked

"Yeah…it's just…" he paused for a second, "I'll be out a little late" he said, it was then she remember Kyo was going a field trip with his class

"Oh, well have fun!" she said rather shyly, but with a cheerful smile, she wanted her friend to have fun

"Yeah…see ya" and with that he left out of the house

"Was that the door I heard?" Yuki said just walking out with Hatsuharu from the other room

"Oh yes" she nodded, "Kyo just left out. He looked really nice, it must be something important" she said

"Out?" he paused, "Did he say where he was going?" though he had an idea

"No, he just said he would be back later. I think he's going on his field trip" suddenly she heard a beep from the kitchen, "Oh the oven! Excuse me!" she said rushing into the kitchen

"Damn it so he really did go" Hatsuharu groaned running his hand through his hair in frustration, 'Kitten'

After managing to get out of the gate, Kyo gave a exhale of relief sometimes it paid off no one paid him no mind. Pulling back his top he looked at his watch showing the time, ten minute's passed six.

'The ballet doesn't start until eight' that left two hours until he had to be there, though he felt...nervous. While he didn't mind going, there was the obvious prospect that their would be others with him, one wrong move and he might transform into a cat.

'Maybe this is a bad idea' he was beginning to have second thoughts, even if he did go was he expecting something to happen, "Of course not" he scoffed, but...

'It's not like it's a date or anything' it was just a field trip, with him and his teacher...and other students. He shook his head,

"I should go back" he turned thinking of just going back home, 'But if I don't show he might think I blew and off' he could make up an excuse, he had come down with a cold, homework, family emergency...okay maybe that one, even he couldn't fake to care about something like that.

"Damn it" he groaned running his hands on his face, letting it rest in his palms, "Why am I even getting like this?" he paused sighing to himself, "It's just some stupid class, he's a teacher and only doing his job..."

'If I should go give me a sign'

"Kyo?" amber eyes widened at the sound of his name, looking from his hand he spotted something he didn't expect, it was his teacher dressed in a very nice, very expensive looking tux, his hair looked silky and smooth like fresh waves, combed back and held in a elegant ponytail, he looked handsome...

"Kyo! it is you!" the older male smiled at the younger who continued to stare at the other, shaking his head he snapped out of it,

"What are you doing here?" it was a valid question trying to ease away from the awkwardness

"To tell you the truth, I wanted to see if you wanted a ride to the theater house?" he asked, it was then he noticed the other wasn't dressed yet

"Is that what your wearing, a bit casual don't you think"

"Hmph, my clothes are back at the school" he replied a bit harshly, "I was actually on my way there to change"

"Oh, my apologies, I was only kidding" he apologized, but the other still seemed angry, "If you want I could give you a ride to the school" pointing behind him, amber eyes looked and widened for the second time that night.

"A...limo...?" a black stretch limo to be precise

"I thought I surprise the students" he smiled noting the others shocked look, "Would you like to look inside?" Kyo was speechless, but only gave a nod as he was led away by the other. The inside was just as cool as the outside, the seats were lined in black leather with an open area.

"I see your surprised" he smiled, "Well let's get to the school before the play starts" with a thump on the top the limo was off

'A limo, really?' this guy was becoming more and ore unbelievable by the second, Hatsuharu and Yuki exit from behind the gate, they were going to follow Kyo and somehow prevent him from going to the ballet or at least keep on eye on him.

"It seems the teacher has more secrets then we first thought"

"Especially springing for a limo" and for a school field trip, "This guy had an angle" he growled smashing his fist into his palm,

'An angle I'm going to beat flat'

After changing at the school, Kyo had returned to the limo, Tenge stood in front of the car, his eyes staring as the other had walked back out. He was dressed in nice black suit with a white dressed shirt and black tie.

"Wow Kyo you look, great" blushed a bit, Kyo looked off

"Yeah...well..." he paused, "Let's just get going"

"Right" he nodded, after leaving the school, they had picked up the rest of the class, all awing and gushing at being picked up in a limo, guess it was no debate who their new favorite teacher was...

The theater was just as beautiful and estrangement, people all around dressed in suits and fancy gowns, after handing in their tickets the group was led through their seats. Luckily or unlucky for Kyo, he was placed in between another male student and his teacher, all the class sitting in the same row, probably to keep anyone from getting lost.

"I hope you enjoy this, this is one of my favorite plays" Tenge whispered to Kyo, who just stared at the other, suddenly the lights dimmed and the room seemed to quite down indicating the play was starting. The curtains rose, red then blue revealing a shaded black, the music began starting with the taps of chimes or maybe a bell, the lights came on revealing a figure standing under the spotlight.

Dressed in a long beautiful white and red trimmed kimono, with a yellow obi and long sleeves. She moved gracefully across the stage, her movements fluid and graceful as she glided in place.

"Wow so graceful" one of the female students blushed

As she continued to dance more dancers were revealed on the side, but as the first dancer moved towards on half the dancers they stilled, spinning and gliding to the other side again she was met with the same reaction. Kyo blinked wondering what was happening, looking at his pamphlet he began reading over the plays description,

'Yoru no neko', 'Cat of the Night'

The ballet tells the story of a female dancer who appeared during the night to dance underneath the full moons. Although she was graceful, she was however cursed to transform into a nibi during the nights.

'Nibi?' he wondered what that was, but kept reading,

She would take the appearance of a nibi, when this happened the moon would turn a eerie red.

Looking up he saw the dancer had removed her shroud like hood revealing an animal like mask, it looked feline with pointed ears and narrowed eyes, it was elegant as it was intimidating. Again she was alone dancing underneath a red lighting, indicating the red moon. Kyo watched, in grossed and entranced by the dancing and movements,

'Curse to become a monster' he could relate, taking his eyes away he looked back to finish the description,

Through much hardships, she fell in love with a young man. She truly believed she had found love, until one faithful night the man witnessed her transformation. While the woman was afraid he would be disgusted and revile her, the man surprised her by staying, only reaffirming his love for her.

Looking back up, amber eyes watched as the once lonely female now dancing with a new dancer, a male wearing royal blue and white. The two seemed to be in sync, each movement, each lift and and spin, and close embrace. It looked...nice.

The lights dimmed on stage and the curtains came closed, applause sounded in the room, even Kyo found himself clapping

"It's time for intermission" Tenge smiled, "So what do you think of it so far?" Kyo looked off for a second, before looking back at the teacher

"It's...interesting" he said

"Well I'm glad it caught your interest" he smiled, "I hope you like what happens next"

'What does happen next?' amber eyes looked down at the pamphlet and read...

'Well now, looks like the cat has escaped his cage' dark eyes stared at the orange haired male a ways away
