Disclaimer: I do not own Hetalia; Himaruya Hidekaz own it. I only own any OCs I have used and the plot.

Author's Note: Quite sorry I haven't updated in so long! I'm actually studying abroad, so I've have't had much time to work on the stories as I would liked. It wasn't until I recently went to Bergen in Norway for hiking. The beautiful scenery just encouraged me to write (while my feet yelled at me for all the hiking I did) No matter, I do intend on continuing this story. So of course to make it up, I made an extra long chapter (at least to me it was long) Please Read: While I was gone, I also updated ALL the chapters and changed a few scenes that changes a bit of the outcome. I encourage (but who am I to stop you if you don't) to re-read the chapters again. (I know it's painful, I've did it so many times now) But it doesn't really change much, it was more of the smaller details that I fixed. Nothing too major. You can continue on if you want. I do have Chapter 7 in progress as we speak. So hopefully I get that written soon. (it's currently at 7 pages in Word and it shouldn't be too long to get posted. Thanks for reading!

Secrets

Chapter 6

Yao sighed after talking to Tau. "Aiyaa! What part of keeping it low doesn't she understand, aru?"

His siblings stood by him, thinking another accident had happened. They blinked wondering what have gotten Yao mad now.

Kiku looked at him a bit worried. "What happened, Yao?"

"Kim-Ly's going on a date…" He frowned, frustrated whenever one of his members didn't listen to him. "She needs to be hidden for the time being, aru!"

Mei grinned happily, giddy at the news. "She's going on a date?!"

Li yawned still tired from the jetlag. "So she's not in trouble then?"

"She could be, aru. What if they strike when she's on her date?"

Kiku nodded slightly, unsure if he completely agreed with keeping Kim-Ly and Yong Soo hidden.

"Yao… you can't really stop her from wanting to go on a date." Kiku tried to explain, but Yao never liked the fact that his family would date outside of the family especially if it were Westerners.

Mei smiled happily. "Besides, isn't it great she's dating again?"

"Not if it's a Westerner, aru."

Li sighed. "Well it doesn't help that we're in America… and majority of the people are like Westerners…"

Yao pouted a bit. "Doesn't matter… there are still enough Asians around the city for her to date…"

"There are enough Asians to attempt to date her, but the end of the day, her breasts still belong to me, da-ze!"

The siblings looked over to the Korean twins. Yong Soo strides over while Kwan Soo was dragging his feet over, tired.

Yao was clearly frustrated seeing Yong Soo not in hiding at home. "You two were supposed to be home a while ago, aru."

"We were, but North was passed out on the couch and I didn't want to bother him."

"You could have, like… carried him, you know?" Li said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"I'd rather the Russians kill me than be caught dead being carried by him." He pointed to his brother accusingly. He only grinned.

Yao huffed. "Alright... I'm sending someone to watch her."

"Isn't that like an invasion of privacy?" Li said.

"Of course not! Kiku, could you assign two of them and send them after Kim-Ly?"

He nodded silently looking at his siblings.

"Why are we stalking Kim-Ly on a date, da-ze?" Kwan Soo fidgeted in the suit and tie, loosening the tie again.

Mei frowned a bit fixing his tie again. "We're not stalking, we're keeping watch… and besides I want to support Kim-Ly dating again and Kiku has to stay here while Yao is away."

"Why can't you just ask South?"

"You know what Yao said, it's best to keep him and Kim-Ly hidden as much as possible."

"We practically look the same… just pretend he's me."

"You two look the same, but you're not…"

His eyes' narrowed, clearly annoyed. "That's why I said pretend, da-ze…"

"Even if he does… Yong Soo keeps laughing at the fact that she's dating…"

"Well don't you think it's funny that she's on a date with him? Cause she seems to push everyone away and all of a sudden. She agreed to it as he was giving her a ticket…"

"Well I don't think she agreed…" She shrugged her shoulders. "I'm just glad she's dating again… I might not be so thrilled that it's a cop… but it's a start. And if anything happens, you can always kill him."

Kwan Soo looked at her. The tone of his voice suddenly changed. No longer tired and annoyed with the conversation. "…wait… I can kill him?"

Mei knew that look in his eyes. It was the same look he had when he first came. A deranged killer. Though he had calmed over the years, it didn't help with the fact that he still had hints of bloodlust in him. "No, I was only joking, Kwan Soo. You can't-"

"I can kill him…"

"No, Kwan Soo-"

"North!"

Kwan Soo looked over seeing his twin run over. "South…" He sighed, frowning a bit, turning away.

Yong Soo smiled a bit when he calmed down. He pat his twin's shoulder grinning. "If anything I could dress up as Mei and go with you..."

The Korean stared at him. "You're not serious..."

"No way! ...you'll stretch out my dresses, much less ruin them!"

Yong Soo chuckled, giving him a wink as he spoke. "But it would have given me an excuse to go on a date with my brother."

Kwan Soo adjusted his tie again. He frowned at his brother's suggestion. "..." He only returned a smile.

Mei watched, internally squealing at their scene.

I tried to keep my eyes on the road as I drove to the restaurant. Unfortunately they kept wandering over towards the passenger seat where Kim-Ly was sitting. She ended up wearing a long dark green dress with low heels. Simple and suited her. She stared out of the window with no interest. The silence unnerved me as we got to the restaurant. Usually it was the girl that would spark up a conversation. So, what exactly am I supposed to do when she doesn't? Though from what Francis told me, this was normal for her as we talked about where to bring her, earlier in the day.

"Ohonhonhon~ So you finally swept Elizaveta off her feet?"

"I think I got the message in police academy…" I subconsciously rubbed the side of my head, still remembering the pain from kitchen duty with her. Frying pans were dangerous weapons. "Besides, she's happy enough with that sissy pants of a pianist."

Francis chuckled as he took a sip of his wine. "If she heard that, she wouldn't even hesitate to hurt you again…"

"I have a feeling, she wouldn't hesitate even if I didn't do anything." It was almost pathetic that the awesome me had to deal with her like this. For her to not even accept my awesomeness was something uncalled for.

Francis nodded, but it was almost a daily occurrence that this wasn't much of a surprised. He returned back to the topic, curious. "Anyways who did you ask out, in such an inconvenient way?" He still wasn't keen about how I had asked her out with force, but it was the only way I could think of in the moment.

"This chick named Kim-Ly."

Francis blinked looking at him. "…Kim-Ly Vuong?"

"I'm not sure about the last name, but that sounds like the name I found when I was looking her up."

"Vietnamese? Long hair in a ponytail? About an A-cup? Though it may be a B now considering what she looked like when I last ran into her."

"Yea that sounds- wait how do you know her?" And about her bra size. Though in reality, I guess anyone could have assumed they were that size.

"You really don't remember her? She went to the same college as us, Gil."

"…she did?"

"Well she might have transferred in after you dropped out to go to the police academy with your brother." He let out a chuckled. "She's an interesting character though. No wonder you had to force her into it."

I frowned slightly watching the French chuckle almost creepily. "Wait… did you date her?"

"I tried, but alas… no luck. She kinda reminds me of Elizaveta. She can have a violent nature, but reserve. You might have better luck than me with Kim-Ly. If you can handle Elizaveta, surely you can handle her."

"…well… any idea where I should take her?"

"Somewhere nice and classy. You need to impress her and show that you're at least serious… in a way. Be classy, mon ami."

I rolled my eyes at his statement. "I'm completely serious and hell I can be classier than you."

Classy my ass. I sighed as I turned into the restaurant. Well Toni told me this should be a good place to go for a date. I just need to know more about her. Why was it that her eyes intrigued me? Was I actually going to fall for that true love at first sight nonsense? It just has to be that I knew her from somewhere. Yea that's it. I just need to know who she is. Maybe that'll reaffirm some things.

We headed into the Italian restaurant going into one of the booths. Once we sat down, I looked at her. Alright so... what do we talk about?

"What the fuck are you doing here, Gilbert?"

A familiar Italian stood in front of me, arms crossed, frown plastered on his face. So this is why Toni liked this location. I had wondered why the name sounded familiar. Lovino's, Toni's long love crush, family had owned this restaurant and a few others in the city. They were always so fond of cooking and wanted to spread out true Italian food.

Lovino frowned at him then trailed towards Kim-ly. His frown vanished, in return a smile came. "Well hello there... I haven't seen you around..."

Kim-Ly looked at him a bit uncomfortable with the situation.

"Hands off, Lovino. Go chase after Toni."

Lovino scoffed. "Like I want to follow after that tomato eating bastard!"

"Well go steal someone else's date."

He casually ignored me and looked back over to Kim-Ly. "Is there anything you'd like to drink, caro? May I suggest the red wine tonight? It has a rich taste."

I rolled my eyes, frowning at the Italian. Hell, I'll even call Toni to come dressed as a girl just to distract him. Though now that I think about it, it might not be a bad idea.

"Are you serving us tonight, Lovino?"

"Like hell I am, we're just low on staff today, so I was forced to. Besides you know the place well enough, you can serve yourself, bastard!" He turned towards Kim-Ly again. "Though I'll gladly serve you..."

I grumbled to myself looking at the menu.

After Lovino left with our orders, I looked back at Kim-Ly. Though the attention Lovino has given would of been appreciated by most, it seems like she flustered by most of the compliments.

"Hey..." Her eyes landed on me. "Sorry about him. That's Lovino. He's a friend of mine. Though I didn't realize he was serving tonight."

"It's alright, I was just caught off guard. I'm not used to compliments like that."

I nodded slightly, finding it rather hard to see her not used to compliments.

"Gilbert, this might be a bit straightforward... but I've been pondering about this most of today, why have you asked me to go on a date with you? We barely known each other and it just happened to be coincidence that we keep running into one another."

Really, if I could answer that I would. But it was hard to really define why I had ended up asking her out that day. "Well, maybe I just wanted to get to know you?"

She gave me a confused stare. "Y-You wanted to get to know me?"

Well this can't be a more awkward beginning to our conversation. "Y-Yea... there's just something about you..." Okay so this may be a bit more stalker-ish than I had intended. Her stare didn't help. She eventually kept her gaze on the table.

"Gilbert... you know you pushed me into this situation."

"But you still went with it."

She frowned. "I only went with it because it was the only way to say I'm not interested. We barely know each other and from the looks of it, you only asked me out on a whim."

Well, I suppose she is slightly correct. I could just counteracted saying that she still went with it. But from what Francis said and he continuously reminded me, don't push her any more than needed, she'll just run. "It wasn't just on a whim."

"I find that hard to believe. I told you I'm not interested in dating you."

"It's only a small date, it's not like it'll mean much if anything. You could just forget about it after tonight if you wanted..."

The glare that came from her could almost match Liz when I ruined one of Roderich's concerts. I flinched slightly. Great, now I've pissed her off. We had a small stare down, her golden eyes a blazed with anger. While mine could only muster what it could to keep her from getting any angrier. I coughed out the awkward silence. "So..."

"Here's your wine, mio caro." He set the glass of wine gently in front of her. "And your beer, bastard." He leaned down towards my ear. "Stop fucking up your date, asshole." With that he left quickly.

Stop fucking up my date? Well how could I even achieve that if she's pissed off at me already?

"Does he have something against you?"

I blinked, slightly confused that her anger dissipated quickly before shaking my head. "No, that's normal. At least for him. He's always been nicer to women than men."

She nodded slightly taking a sip of her wine. "Well, regardless of the situation. You did ask me out and I reluctantly accepted. So I'll go along with your questions and then we can forget that this ever happened. What do you want to know about me?"

"What do you do for a living?"

"I work with my cousin, Yao Wang. It's nothing big. Just helping with his shop and anything else related to medicine that he may need."

"Like?"

"Almost pharmaceutical work. Ordering and restocking medicine that he would need."

Our food was served as I nodded at the answer. Well at least it added up. "How's your 'fiancé'?"

She chuckled at the word. "He only did that thinking you were a stalker... He's my brother. So he tends to be a bit overprotective when needed."

"W-Wait he thought I was a stalker?!" The awesome me being called a stalker, now I'm offended slightly.

"Well from what he told me, it sounded like it. We ran into each other and you were staring at me from across the room?" A slight smirk crossed her lips.

My face flushed lightly. "I-I did not! I just happened to look in that direction."

"For a while?"

"Well you caught my eye..." She blinked at my answer while I cursed lightly at myself. Sure, make it even more awkward why don't cha? I took a bite of my meal, trying to push away the awkwardness.

"How about you?"

"Inspector for the police force. It's an awesome job where I can be awesome and solve cases."

"Isn't that just like a detective?"

He shrugged. "Well yea, but I have more authority than they do. Kinda like head detective in a way."

"How long have you been in the police force?"

"Well I started with the twenty-four week training at the academy then went off to the army to train for another three months since my brother was going to do it as well. But there are a lot of limitations working in the army. So now we're in the same police force with high enough authority."

"Have you always wanted to be a part of the police force?"

"You could say that. My dad was part of it and so was my grandfather. Seems right that my brother and I would join as well."

"Line of police officers?"

I grinned. "Naturally. It's in our blood."

"Your whole family?"

"Yea, dad says that throughout the generations all the men often go off into military work."

"Family business almost?"

"Yea, I guess that's about right. Pretty awesome don't you think?"

"If you can call it that..."

We both flinched as the sudden rise in volume. We turned our heads towards an older man laughing heartily walking through the door. He had two women around both of his arms, giggling. "Si, si of course. Lovino!"

Lovino turned over towards the man. "Hey Papa..." He didn't sound too enthusiastic.

"Can you send us a bottle of wine and tell Feliciano to make pasta as well."

He nodded slightly turning towards the kitchen. "Feli! Dad's back, make the usual!" He yelled towards the opening in the wall, meant for finished dishes.

"Si! Of course~ Which wine?" A yell returned back, softer and more enthusiastic than Lovino's.

"I'll get the fucking wine just cook the damn pasta!" Lovino dragged his legs into the kitchen.

I chuckled a bit at the scene. So it was Feliciano in the kitchen, it would explain the food tasting better than usual.

Feliciano is Lovino's younger twin brother. He often worked in the restaurants cooking. Unlike Lovino, he was a lot calmer and cheerier than him. Though they do trade off at times on who cooked and who served, but majority of the time, Feliciano was cooking.

I looked back at Kim-Ly. "If you want, we can meet the cook later. He's pretty interesting guy. Though he's a bit of a wuss sometimes."

"No... it's alright, I think I can figure out their personalities from the recent exchange."

I blinked looking at her. There was something that became rigid in her movements. I watched her closely. "You sure? It's not a problem. Feli doesn't mind."

"Yes... I'm sure." Her voice stern.

I flinched slightly from her tone. "Alright." Seriously, what's gotten her panties in a twist this time…

We continued eating having a bit of small talk before another round of yells returned.

"You fucking bastard! You burnt the pasta!"

"V-Ve, I swear I put it on low!"

"Damn it Feli, you trying to burn the fucking place down?! Dad's here!"

"I-I'm sorry!"

Their father just laughed as he listened to his sons exchanged of conversation. "Don't worry Feliciano! Just make sure it cooked all the way!"

I watched before refocusing on Kim-Ly. She had a slight glare. Shit, what did I do now? "What?"

"I barely understood what you said..."

"Oh... I just asked about what you majored in college."

She was about to answer as another round of yells came from the kitchen.

She sighed. "I don't think we're going to be able to have any other conversations with them around."

I agreed, though I do love watching the Italians sometimes, the goal was to learn more about Kim-Ly. "Let me get the bill and I'll drive you home."

I woke up to my pet rolling onto my face. I flinched when I woke up, almost suffocated under his fur. I frowned a bit down to Kumajirou, who was still sleeping peacefully stealing the pillow I originally was sleeping on. I looked around for my glasses before getting out of bed. I walked into the kitchen, stretching a bit almost running into my older brother, Alfred.

"Yo, Mattie, where were you a few nights ago?" He was in the middle of tying his tie. "You missed out on seeing Arthur, he was hysterical at the business party. Got drunk again and what not."

"I was at Francis' party remember?" It wasn't unusual for him to forget about my whereabouts. I'm surprised most of the time if he even remembered I was home.

"Oh yea, how was the party?"

I thought back to the night. "Talked to someone and then Gilbert was there so he ended up taking me out to the bars."

He snickered. "Did you two go on a date or something?"

A light blush crossed my face. "N-No! We were just hanging out..." It's true I had a crush on the albino years ago when Francis introduced him to me. Though it never went anywhere, I was still glad that he had always remembered me.

"No need to convince me. It's cool." He patted my shoulder. "Also I wanted to know, got plans for lunch break?"

"No... today's my day off remember? I was just going to get myself familiar with city some more."

"You've been here how long and you still don't know the city?"

"It's only been a couple of weeks... I'm not used to city life."

He gave me a stare before grinning. "Alright, just remember the places I told you to avoid."

"Don't worry I remember."

And with that he left for work. I've known Al had been working alongside Arthur for years now. The Brit needed a spokesperson and what better person than him? Al's been known to ramble until he forces the other person into agreement. Seems like the perfect opportunity and he's gotten really good at working in business despite the constant changes in major during college.

I got dressed and headed out into the city, wandering as I've done for the past couple of weeks. I've missed being under the trees rather than being under skyscrapers. The transition was hard, but in the end, there was no way I could have continued living there without a job and the last thing I wanted to do was go back to my parents. They often didn't mind, but it would only be a burden on them in the end.

Though my job wasn't ideal, it was a good way to earn money by being an assistant for Francis and I was able to be with Al again after he moved to America for work. I do regret leaving Canada. It might have been better if I had stayed there and tried to find a job, but I just happened to have the worst luck as Francis was visiting and offered the job right then. I couldn't say no to the offer.

My thoughts were interrupted when my phone rang. I recognized Al's ringtone hearing the chorus of the classic Superman theme. I sighed, Al probably borrowed my phone again to do that. I picked up.

"Al, what is it?"

"Mattie, I need you to make a run for me, is that cool?"

I blinked. "Wait... what?"

"A run, like pick up something. You know… delivery..."

"I know Al." Rolling my eyes a bit. "Isn't that your job though?"

"I know, but I forgot something for the presentation. I sent it to the printers, but I don't have time to pick it up before the meeting."

I sighed. Of course Al would do something like this during my day off. "Sure, is it at the same place?"

"Next to the gym? Yup! Thanks a ton, bro! I'll make it up to you at dinner."

"Going to McDonald's isn't exactly making it up..."

"I still paid! Besides the burgers there are awesome."

A slight chuckle escaped. "Alright, get back to work. I'll get your things."

"Thanks Mattie!"

I sighed putting my phone away. I looked around trying to orientate myself. "So the gym should be this way..."

"Ana~ actually, if you headed that way you'll be going downtown. And the gym is a bit shady down there. I don't think you'll like it very much."

I whipped my head around looking at a Thai man with a smile on his face. I blinked a few times. "...Tau...lina?" The man raised a brow, but kept his smile. I shook my head. "S-Sorry... you looked like someone I met before.

He chuckled. "Ana, it's okay. Are you going to the fitness center?"

"Y-yea."

He nodded. "I'm actually heading there now, if you want, we could walk together? Sorry I had assumed you were lost by the way you were standing around and staring at the street names."

"It's fine. Thanks"

He nodded as we headed towards the gym.

"Just moved here?"

"Yea a few weeks ago."

"Do you like it?"

"Well... I mean it's convenient since everything is close by."

He nodded slightly. "Yea... I guess... but I think I prefer nature to be a big part in where I live as well."

It was strange, it's almost like deja vu again from last night. Her height and his were relatively the same along with the ethnicity and accent. This couldn't be a simple coincidence, right?

"Don't you think?"

I blinked when I realized I had been focusing too much on his appearance to listen to the conversation. "W-What?"

The Thai chuckled. "Don't you think it would be better if the city was more peaceful?"

"O-Oh yea... it would make it safer... but I think some people prefer the noise over quiet."

He hummed. "Ana... I guess." He stopped and looked at me. "Well here's the gym. It was nice talking to you, Matthew."

I nodded. "It was good to talk to you too..." Before I could ask what his name was he had entered the gym. I blinked a few times thinking. "Wait... how did he know my name?"

I arrived at my brother's office looking around. Al had mentioned that this proposal was one of their biggest projects. I noticed the pile of hamburger wrappers in his trash can. I sighed, worrying about his health sometimes.

"Hey Mattie! Did you get it printed?"

I nodded pulling out the package. He took it and pulled out the prints, smiling as he looked at them.

"Thanks a ton! I owe you one."

I only smiled knowing it may be a while before he returned the favor. "What's the project on?"

Alfred looked around quickly, searching for anyone who could overhear, before turning back to look into my eyes. "Swear you won't tell Francis?"

Ah, so sabotage again. It has always been like this between Francis and Arthur. Though from the bits and pieces of what I've heard from my brother, this time the project was a lot bigger to spite Francis in general.

"Of course."

He grinned. "He wants to open up a pub."

"A pub?"

"Yea, get into the nightlife business to annoy Francis. We're going to invest money into it. Oh! But don't tell him..."

I only nodded. It wasn't like it's the first time they've tried this. "Good luck..." Was the only thing I could managed to say.

"Matthew? What are you doing here?"

Arthur stood at the door. A slight frown sat on his face as he faced towards me. His suit was a bit out of place, noticing small wrinkles here and there. There were small bags under his eyes probably from the lack of sleeping leading up to this day.

"I had to give Al something..."

"Right then, well Alfred. The meeting's moved up. We're leaving now." With a turn of the heel he left as quickly as he arrived.

"Ah shit... I'll grab dinner for us later tonight, Matt." He grabbed a few things from his desk and ran after him.

And I'm left alone again. Sighing, I looked out to the view. It was still a nice day. I made sure his door was locked before leaving the building. Well if tonight's dinner is McDonald's again, I might as well get something healthy to eat now.

I hadn't expected to run into him again.

When I walked into the cafe, there he was. The Thai man seemed to have noticed me as well, waving towards me. I walked over towards him.

The Thai man smiled. "Ana~ if I hadn't known any better it's like you're stalking me."

"W-What? I-I... I mean... I didn't..." I went red, feeling flustered. "W-Wait you could be stalking me..."

He only smiled. "Yea... I could be too..." And he left it at that. "So what are you doing here?"

"Grabbing something to eat... you?"

"Same... I suppose that's what a cafe would be for... I usually come here after my work out."

"So that's why you were going to the gym?"

"Ana... no I just like watching people work out..." He joked. "We can keep talking if you want to get your food..."

I flushed a bit and nodded. "S-Sure..." After I paid for a salad and drink I returned back to him, sitting across from him.

"Do you work out often?"

"Ana, when time allows me, but I usually aim for at least three times a week... do you?"

"No... not really. Just run when I can..." I shifted a bit, watching him. "O-Oh, um... what's your name?"

He looked at me. "Tau..."

I blinked. "Tau?"

He nodded as he bit into his sandwich. "And yours?"

"Matthew..." I watched Tau closely, blinking a few times when the image of him in a dress appeared. "I know this is a bit weird... but do you know someone named Taulina? I mean it could be a coincidence... but you two look really alike."

He hummed, smiling as he looked around. "Uh... I don't believe so... though the name sounds a bit strange don't you think?"

"Does it? I mean... I-I guess... I don't know much about Asian names..."

"Though I've heard that there are seven other people in the world that looks like you... maybe I'd be able to meet my lookalike? Wouldn't that be fun?"

"Maybe it's your long lost twin?"

"Maybe..." His voice trailed off as he focused on the news broadcasting in the cafe. "Ana..."

I blinked turning my head towards the TV. I flinched at the sight of blood. Another murder. "D-Does this often happen here in the city?"

"Hmm?" Tau gazed towards me. "Ana... I suppose it does..." He calmly smiled. "But I suppose that comes along with having gangs that live in the city..."

"Don't the police do something about them?"

"They try... but with the weeding of weaker gangs. The chief of the police force is now stuck with the gangs that are smart enough to at least... be sneaky. If you can call it that."

"Weeding?"

"Yea... a few years ago the streets were crawling with gangs left and right. I guess the chief of police got tired of it and fired a good amount of police officers and now hand chooses his police force. The governor wasn't too happy with it, but with the new results, can anyone really blame him?"

"The chief of police can do that?"

He chuckled. "Of course not, but with the mess that our city was in, something had to happen. And with results we got, no one could really complain."

"How many gangs were there before?"

"Over ten different ones. Nowadays there are three main ones, most of the previous gangs either joined up or joined a bigger group. While others are in prison or gave up the life and moved on. It's hard to tell..."

"I'm guessing you've lived here for a while?"

He grinned. "I'm guessing you've only lived here for a short while if you're asking about this."

"Y-Yea." That soft smile appeared on his face. It was similar to what Taulina's one smile. I really need to stop thinking like this. Maybe he just had a sister...

"Let me guess where you're from." He closed his eyes as if he was in deep though. His brows furrowed together with his finger on his chin. "You're Canadian, right?"

I blinked looking at him astonished. "Y-Yea... a lot of people just assume I'm American..."

Tau chuckled. "Your accent gives it away kinda... but I understand what they mean... it's a bit difficult to distinguish."

I smiled a bit. Though it wasn't much, the fact that he was about to tell the difference made me happy. "And I'm guessing you're Thai?"

His eyes widened a bit. "What?! That's so racist! Just because I have dark skin doesn't mean I'm Thai!"

"Wh-What?! I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean..." I blinked a few times looking at him. Tau was now laughing. I blinked thinking about his comment. Now that I think about it, it didn't make that much sense.

"Ana... I'm just messing with you. You look adorable when you're flustered... But I am Thai, may I ask how you figured that out?"

"The girl I was talking to was Thai... so I kinda... guessed..." Trying to recover from his joke.

"Tau!"

I blinked at the new voice and turned around. Walking towards us was a small Taiwanese girl with long brown hair with one single strand of hair sticking out from the rest.

"Ana... I'm in trouble now..." I looked over to the ever smiling Thai.

She charged over to him, placing her hands on her hips, frowning. "You're late, we were supposed to meet up half an hour ago!"

"Ah... did it get that late? I'm sorry Mei..." He turned his gaze towards me. "We should run into each other once again, Matthew. It is enjoyable talking to you."

Mei blinked looking at me. "..." I shifted under her stare.

"S-Sorry..."

"Huh? Wait aren't you..."

Tau chuckled. "Matthew, you're sweet... don't worry about my cousin. She can be a sweetheart." He got up putting his hands on her shoulders and started pushing her out. "Shall we go, Mei?"

"W-Wait... Tau! I'm not doing talking..."

Tau hummed as he got her out of the café, ignoring her comment. "Ana~ Don't worry... We need to go before he gets angry. We are late aren't we?"

I blinked watching the scene before noticing some of the stares I was receiving. I shifted awkwardly before finishing my food and leaving as quickly as I could.

And with that awkward ending... CHAPTER FINISHED. Finally too. I had so much trouble with this chapter due to no inspiration and DATES... I've never realized how much I hated first dates until I wrote this. It was just so awkward for me, but pushed through and behold, chapter 6.

Please do review, I really appreciate any reviews on my chapters so I know if I'm keeping the characters in check or if it doesn't make sense. (As you've seen with my changes in all the chapters.) This leads to another important topic. I'm in desperate need of a beta-reader. I would love to have one that can help me with my grammar and descriptions (I'm not that creative with my wording, it's clear to see) So please if you're interested PM me. I would love to have a beta-reader (and best part you get to read the chapters before it's released... no that doesn't encourage you? Darn...well it was worth a shot) Thanks again for anyone that actually read the small bits I put in. I really appreciate it.
