Clark sat down nervously on the couch and stared at Kate. Being a cop she's pretty much mastered the blank expression. Clark sat nervously waiting for Kate to speak or at least scream monster at him.
Kate looked at him. This has to be some kind of sick joke he's a demon right a demon sent to troll her. What is it with brooding guys, first Angel and now this kid? "Clark, I'm trying not to sound mean here but… what are you?"
Clark thought on what he wanted to tell her. Does he tell her everything? Does he even know everything? And even if he does, why introduce himself as such. The great people that destroyed themselves are too good for him because he killed one person as opposed to the whole earth, screw them. "I was infected by the Smallville meteor showers. They cause mutations in people, it gives them powers to be blunt."
Kate weakly nodded and looked at him. "You killed that kid with your powers didn't you?"
Clark nodded. "I loved Alicia, she had powers too, she knew what it meant to be different, Tim took her away from me, and I just gave in to all my worst instincts. I went out looking for revenge… and I got it."
Kate could see the guilt there and Angel has killed far more people. Even with his 'soul', admittedly they were Wolfram and Hart but they were still people. "Thank you for saving my life. I'll see you on Monday OK."
Clark smiled and walked out the door to Katie's apartment she's not calling the lab right away so that's something.
Clark smiled getting closer to Lilah's house ready to call it a night.
"You're kind of condescending you know that."
Clark turned to the familiar voice. How does she keep finding him? He watches Alicia come out in a white top and scarf around her throat. "LA, not really the place for ice skating, at least not outdoors."
"Oh, now he's a funny condescending serial killer." Alicia deadpanned while looking at him.
Clark looked at her still not believing she's saying such things about him. "Alicia, I only ever, that one time. I'm not a serial killer you know that!"
Alicia looked at him with cold piercing stare. "Maybe but you are condescending… you say you love me but you threw me under the bus no different then anyone else."
"I loved you!" Clark shouted.
"No, you didn't!" Alicia shouted back. "If you loved me, you would have trusted me!" She cried and then lowered the scarf and Clark looks away from the bleeding and rope burn around her neck. "You wouldn't have let him do this to me!"
Clark to his surprise grabbed her by her scarf. "If I had known."
"But you didn't." Alicia countered. "You left me all alone."
Clark just hugged the girl holding her close. The two looked at each other holding her close as Alicia's head went up. The two kissed slowly at first but quickly deepening it until Clark lifted her off her feet and neither left. Clark pulled back looking at the girl and Alicia quietly disappeared in her green haze. Clark looked at his pocket and pulled out a little piece of scarf he pulled from whoever that was. He has kissed her on more then one occasion as a matter of fact even without the red kryptonite he almost had sex with Alicia the night he met her. Whatever that was it couldn't have been Alicia.
Clark looks down at his tracking anklet it won't go off unless he leaves LA. He looks down and realizes there's only one way to know for sure. His eyes heat up as they hit his tracking monitor and fry the machine as Clark yanked it off. Clark runs in a blur he can be to Smallville and back in a minute.
Clark came back into Lilah's apartment after doing what he needed to do. Clark looked at her and held up the broken ankle monitor. "I think I have a problem."
Lilah looked at it and held it in her hands. "What happened to it?"
Clark innocently shrugged. "I don't know it just kind of went haywire grabbed the nearest knife I could and cut it off. Figured I'd come right back here to show the police that I'm not running."
"Smart boy sit down."
Clark watched as Lilah got on her phone and went into the kitchen. Clark felt his phone vibrate and opened it seeing the message from Chloe.
(Its 1:30 in the morning what's going on?)
Clark quickly texted back. (I just had a bizarre visit.)
(Details)
(Alicia)
Clark waited a couple minutes seeing as how Chloe would probably take this.
(Clark, you went through a lot with her death it would make sense if you see her in the face of a random stranger)
(It wasn't a mysterious stranger she had rope burn and everything)
(OK so nightmare)
(No too real and I kissed her.) Clark texted back and added. (I kissed Alicia more then enough to know when it's not her.)
(OK I'll look into it from the Smallville end you take LA, I'll call you tomorrow.)
(Good night Chloe)
(Goodnight Clark)
Clark looked up from his phone and saw Lilah coming in with a cup of tea in hand for each of them. Lilah handed Clark a cup and sat down.
"So, I talked to the police and they said they'll be over to replace the ankle monitor just don't leave the property till then." Lilah replied. "So what'd you do tonight?"
Clark shrugged not even sure how to describe it. "Explored the town a bit"
Lilah nodded actually impressed with how fast the kid could lie what exactly has Martha gotten herself into. "Is there something you're trying to hide from me?"
"No" Clark replied.
Lilah looked at him and that was obviously a yes. She looked at his lips and that was a giveaway. "So then, who was the floozie that was kissing you?" Clark looked at her surprised until Lilah had a little smirk and said. "It's called lipstick Clark."
Clark rubbed at his lips. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you."
"I believe in a whole lot of things Clark." Lilah replied. "Try me."
Clark looked at the floor. Well maybe she'll just put him in a psych ward. "It was Alicia."
"Clark?"
"I know how it sounds." Clark replied looking at her. "But it was Alicia right down to the smile, her eyes, the smell and I touched her, and she was as real as I would touch anyone else. I kissed her tonight and it felt like I was kissing a completely different person. I don't know what's happening to me."
Lilah looked at him she can't say ghost but this stinks of something supernatural the question is who'd want Clark to suffer. They hear a knock on the door on the door to Lilah's relief. "Go let the officer in and do whatever they say."
Clark got to his feet and let the officer in as they fit him for a new ankle monitor. Lilah watches from the kitchen and knows she shouldn't get involved in this. She agreed to watch a kid and that's what she's doing. She and Martha haven't even been friends for years and if the senior partners find out about this act of charity it will look really bad for her. Lilah looked into the kitchen and rolled her eyes in disgust as she grabbed her phone and dialed, damn it. "I want the financial records of Magnus Hainslay on my desk first thing in the morning."
The next morning Clark found himself at the Hyperion nervously knocking. Clark waited as the door opened and he saw the blond hair girl that set them up.
Cordy smiled seeing Fred's new guy at the door. "Oh, hi what can I do for you?"
"I was wondering if Fred was home." Clark asked. "I was going to see Dr. Swann I wanted to see if she'd like to go with me?"
Cordy smiled seeing this guy at least wants her out of hotel. "Just hang on a couple minutes"
Cordy went up to Fred's room and saw the physicist writing on her walls again. "Fred, Clark is here, he wants to know if you want to see some Swann thing."
Fred looked up nervously seeing the other woman through. "Oh um he wants to do that. But you and Angel aren't going to this time though are you."
Cordy shakes her head. "No, but to be fair you weren't supposed to know we were going last time."
Fred looked back to the wall not sure. "Oh uh no, that's OK it's just way too much of a big step, I can't."
Cordy frowned. "Are you sure?"
Fred nodded and went back to work scribbling on her walls in a frenzy and Cordy just sighed as she came down the steps. She gets it she wouldn't be trusting either but she has to get back into the world at some point.
Cordy came down and looked at Clark. "Sorry, but she's not feeling that well today I think she's coming down with something."
Clark looked at her. "She just doesn't want to go does she?" Clark asked.
Cordy looked at him, damn she thought Angel had a set of puppy dog eyes. "Honestly, Fred, she's been through a lot of things these past few years. Things that would break the strongest of people." She was in Pylea for just a couple days and she never wants to go back. "I think it's going to take some time for her to trust the world again but thanks for trying to get her out in the world again."
Clark nodded in understanding. He's still trying to figure out LA. "I understand it was nice to see you again…"
"Cordelia, Cordelia Chase"
"Clark Kent"
They shook hands and Cordelia said goodbye as she headed up the stairs and calmly watched Clark as he was exiting the motel.
Cordy heard a buzz in her head and pleaded. "No, not now, not on concrete."
Clark turned around and watched as Cordy fell back away from the steps rapidly going to the bottom. Clark moved in a blur and caught the cheerleader as Cordy shouted somewhere between pain and fear as she saw a guy hitting a girl in black and white.
"You think you can play me like a fool, and dress like that, you little bitch"
"No, please!"
Clark looked at Cordy. "Are you OK?"
Cordy didn't say a word as she hopped to her feet and ran causing Clark to join her as the two quickly run up to a mom and pop deli for small owners seeing a teenage boy going to town on the shelves as a red headed teenage girl tries to run out the store but he catches her and throws her over the table to a thunderous racket. Clark easily grabs the boy by the throat and hoisted him up in a choke hold. "Cordelia get the girl out of here."
Cordelia wasted no time and quickly got the girl out of the store. She looks her over and the guy really did a number on her. That eye is going to be swollen shut and she's bleeding from the mouth.
Clark looked at the abuser and held him in the air. "What's wrong with you, you could have killed her?"
"She was a stupid little whore that had it coming." The man replied.
Clark squeezed a little tighter and pushed him hard into the wall but not enough to do serious damage.
Next to him a green haze manifested as Alicia showed her. "Well, déjà vu much."
Clark looked at her. "Leave me alone"
Alicia smiled watching him work. "Well go on; kill him like you killed the last one. God knows he deserves it."
Clark looked at the man for a moment and it would be so easier and considering how quiet that woman is he doubts she'll testify. Clark took a moment and slightly knocked the guy's head on the wall knocking him out.
Alicia looked at him as she watches him leave. "You know if you trusted me you could have just done that to Tim, no harm no foul."
Clark closes his fists, tires to collect himself, and quickly walks out he can't do it, not ever again.
Clark waits patiently with Cordy and the girl having given her his red jacket to hide the bruises on her arms and stomach.
Cordy looked her over. "I can't believe a guy can do this to a girl."
The girl looked at her nervously. "He was never like that before."
The two watched as a cop car pulled up and Clark smiled seeing the cop get out of the car. "Marcus"
"Fileboy, aren't you off duty?"
Clark looked at Cordelia. Having a feeling however she knew this was going down she wanted to keep it quiet. "We were just passing by?"
Marcus looked at Clark you wouldn't believe he killed a guy without looking at his record. "Is that true Clark, because you know your record?"
"I know." Clark assured him. "I wasn't looking for trouble it just kind of found me. I know I'm not supposed to get involved… but look at her."
Marcus looked at the girl whom looks like she got done twelve rounds. "Let me guess your husband?"
"Boyfriend" The girl replied.
Marcus nodded and taking out his pad getting the details.
Clark looked at the cop this sounded familiar. "Wait you mean to tell me there were more cases of husbands killing their wives."
"Five more over the week, you and Lockley will have a nice pile waiting for you tomorrow afternoon. As for the rest rule one of office workers Mr. Kent."
Clark sighed. "We're not cops."
Marcus nodded and looked at him for all extensive purposes Clark is a good kid that made a horrible mistake he doesn't want him to go to jail for it. "And you two were just walking where exactly."
Cordy smiled and wrapped Clark's arm around her. "Oh, he was just taking me to lunch."
Marcus looked at the two. "Alright as far as I can tell no violation has been made for your parole but we'll need both of your statements."
The bruised girl shook her head. "No you won't, I'm not pressing charges."
Cordy looked at her. This girl is damaged. "What is your trauma, he nearly killed you?"
"I don't know who that was in there but it wasn't Marc. He won't do it again." The girl replied. "I know him, I've known him since I was five years old, something happened to him but he's not like that. Thank you for your concern but I'm going to be fine now."
Clark looked at the scene so much for statements and if she's not pressing charges he can still keep an ear out for her. Clark felt his phone vibrate and saw it was a text from Chloe and quickly opened it.
(You were right something very weird is going on Alicia's body is missing. I'm going to check Belle Reeve see if you or her have any enemies recently set free.)
Clark looked at it and quickly texted back. (Thanks for the heads up going to be busy for a couple hours.)
Cordy was thinking this through weird she got a vision about humans but it's a welcome change, doesn't mean she's not going to look into it though. She looked at Clark and started. "Well thanks for the offer for lunch but I just remembered I have a ton of paperwork to go through at work." She quickly and a little bit deeply kissed him to keep up the act wondering about this mysterious guy outside of he's a really good kisser. She breaks apart from him. "Call me later or Fred."
Clark looks down as his mind reboots and sees a picture of a… hmm… he's gonna go with fish. He also sees Angel Investigations help the helpless with bizarre and the unexplained. Well this is something he can figure out later. He answers Marcus' questions and is quickly on his way.
Clark walked into the assembly and is cut off by someone who seems like an older Lois greet him at the door so he guesses he's expected. "Please follow me Mr. Kent."
Clark calmly followed the older woman. "So why is Dr. Swann here? I thought he was a shut in?"
The woman frowned. "I think he wanted to see the traveler one last time."
Clark looked at her. "One last time?"
The woman opened the door for him. And Clark looked in and almost looked away but he couldn't. The elderly man in a wheelchair that showed him where he came from. He seems so much frailer now. "Dr Swann"
The elderly man smiled seeing him. "Clark, I would have paid for your defense but your parents took care of it."
Clark smiled looking at the man. "You should be in bed resting."
"I might be weak but I still have some mobility left. And there is something I want you to have." The billionaire said from his wheelchair as the lady handed Clark a steel box.
Clark opened it and only saw a rock. "What is this?"
"It was the sacred stone of water, now it's a rock I'm assuming this was your father's work."
Clark just nodded. "It's nothing more then a hollow rock now, just like the other one."
Swann looked at Clark. "Do you know what happened Kal El?"
Clark held up the empty rock. "Jor El took away whatever made those rocks special, he deemed me to dangerous to be on earth."
Swan looked at him for only a moment. "Do you think that's true?"
"No" Clark answered he's no more dangerous then anyone else when enraged as the little show today proved.
Swan smiled. "Then you should hang onto them. I still believe that you will do great things for this world Kal El. Even without Jor El's guidance."
"Thank you" Clark replied.
The farmboy sat down with the doctor and discussed a little bit of everything with him. He knows he's done wrong but every day since then he's changed maybe he can do better and be better. Two hours later and Swan was too weak to continue so Clark let him sleep as Bridgette walked him out.
Clark walked out of the building and saw Alicia once again as she waved at him and disappeared. Clark looked at it and this is just insane. Kate taught him about vampires, maybe she can show him what to do about ghosts. Taking a moment he calls the former cop seeing as Alicia real or not is driving him insane.
"Kate, I need advice, what do you do about ghosts?" Clark listened to the cop on the other end. "I thought that was a detective place, OK I'll go talk to them. I already have a card."
Angel was talking to Cordelia who was interested in the vision she was sent earlier. "All I'm saying is its mysterious the PTBs never gave me visions about humans killing humans before."
Angel looked at her. "Look according to you it was a girl in trouble and you saved her. I'd say vision closed."
Cordy rolled her eyes there's always a reason for them. "Just saying… Fred's outside the hotel friend is here."
Angel looked up and spotted Clark.
Clark looked at the two not sure how to react since Kate sent him here. "I need your help."
