The Unexpected New Student part 1

"She finally woke up?" I ask with relief

"Yeah…she's still tired and weak but mom finally opened her eyes. The Doctor says she's out of danger it's just going to be a long process for her to heal now." Aika my cousin tells me the good news over the phone. She texted me during class telling me to call her when I first got the chance; with lunch time being the only free time I have for today I went up to the rooftop to call her. the only other person up here is Castiel; ever since he saw me collapse back at he home he's been silently following me around making sure I'm ok. Lysander has been occasionally asking me if I heard anything but he's been leaving it to Castiel to follow me around. Kim and the others seemed to have picked up on something being wrong with me they all kept asking me if I was ok. They knew I was lying when I told them I was but I didn't want them to keep worrying so I told them that I would tell them once everything got better. Castiel leans on the railing beside me as I talk to Aika.

"How long are they saying she'll be hospitalized?"

"It's weird they're not really sure yet. It's unusual the doctor said that he's never seen wounds like moms before and what was even more weird was that her injuries were so severe to begin with but they can't even place who or what caused them."

"So they still have no idea who attacked her?"

"No none…the police are still investigating but they can't seem to find anything. it's as if the attack never even happened. They can't seem to find any kind of evidence."

"That's weird…"

"Yeah…anyway mom is stubborn so she'll be fine." her begins to sound cheery again as we leave the conversation at that. "Sooo any crushes I should know about?"

"Aika…no I…"

"You know you really should consider getting a boyfriend and get the virginity thing over with."

"and you're back to you're usual self…can we not talk about this?"

"oh come on I mean I know it hurts the first time but I'm telling you Fae after that it is oh so-"

"AIKA! Jeeze could you cut it out already Sheesh! I mean between you and Castiel I don't know who's going to drive me more insane sometimes!" hearing that comment Castiel takes it as an invitation to mess with me as he pulls on my cheek "Ow!"

"Castiel…Castiel…I remember that name from somewhere…"

"Welsh you shouldsh…I ushed to plshay wich hin whensh I wash littchle…(Well you should I used play with him when I was little)." I say as he pulls on my cheek enjoying my torment.

"Oh that Castiel! Oh he was such a little cutie pie; you used to follow him around like a little baby ducky. You two were so cute together!"

"I didn't follow him around!"

"Hey lady! Who are you calling a cutie pie!?" Castiel shouts from beside me forgetting about torturing me.

"Was that him? HIIIIIII Castiel!" she sing songs through the phone.

"Your cousin is crazy…" he loses interest leaning against the railing again with an uninterested look. After I talk to Aika for a bit longer I hang up and let out a small sigh of relief.

"So your aunt is going to be ok?"

"Yeah…I mean she's still recovering but she's out of danger now. They've taken her off life support she's breathing on her own again."

"Well at least it a step in the right direction…" he says patting my shoulder "Come on let's get some lunch." We head back inside where the others are waiting for us. Kim and Melody are the first ask me if everything is alright. As I explain the incident they all seem to relax, including Lysander. Kenny hugs me tightly balling his eyes out in relief. As I pat him on the head Kim has to yank him off to get Castiel to stop glaring at us. soon lunch ends and we head for our next classes.

"Fae." I turn to see Nathaniel standing there. Castiel glares at him coldly most likely remembering their last encounter,

"What the hell do you want dragon breath?"

"Nothing that concerns you." Nathan retorts before he looks back at me, "Principal Kerington wants to see you."

"me? what did I do?"

"I don't know but there were some officers in her office."

"Like the police?" Castiel asks alarmed.

"I don't know; they were wearing suits though like you would see a secret agent wear or something."

"…did they say what they wanted to talk to me about?"

"No but Kerington was in one of her moods." That's not a good sign. "She was seriously thinking about something."

"O-okay…I'll head there now." We start walking with both Kim and Castiel following me when Nathan steps in front of them.

"Only Fae needs to go."

"Like hell she's the only one!"

"Sorry Nathan but I'm with Castiel on this one; if there are stiffs like that involved I'm not letting her go alone either."

"Sorry guys but it's Keringtons orders only Fae."

"We'll wait outside the office if we have to Nathan but we're not letting her go alone." Kim says sternly, "She just had a serious shock already the last thing she needs is to go through another one alone."

"Agreed…!" Castiel growls. Nathan looks back and forth between them as he thinks. Finally he let's out a defeated sigh,

"alright you can come but only to the front door."

"Um…Kim?" Kenny asks her nervously,

"It's ok Short stuff; go back to class we'll let you guys know how it goes later." With that everyone starts leaving. Kim places a firm hand on my shoulder as we start walking. Castiel secretly takes hold of my hand lacing our fingers together making sure he has a firm grip on it as we walk down the hall. With them here the uncertainty I felt just a moment ago is nonexistent.

we reach the main office and Castiel lets go of my hand as we walk inside. Nathan turns to us,

"Sorry but you two will have to wait here now; this as far as I can allow you to go." They both seem to exchange doubtful looks.

"I'll be fine guys; it's really likely that it's nothing." I try to say reassuring them but I' starting to feel nervous again. I turn around and walk behind Nathan. he opens the door allowing me to enter first. Inside the principal is sitting at her desk with a very serious look on her face. The three men around her are just as Nathan had described them to be; they look like some higher class security force than your average police would. On one of the men's suits I see a gold insignia that looks like an upside down V but in reality it looks more like a hood.

"The Seeker Security Force…?" I mumble under my breath. these guys are said to be the derived force from the mages that took down Kirio a long time ago. What could they want with me? she looks up at Nathan,

"Nathan Could you give us a moment please."

"Yes…" without another word Nathan Leaves the office. As the door closes I can see Kim and Castiel both straining to see what's going on,

"Miss Fae." Principal Kerington says in a deep tone; one of the men seems to whisper something in her ear and she holds a hand up as if to silence him.

"Y-yes ma'am?"

"These men have some questions for you. I want you to know that whatever is said in this room will not leave it. however at the same time you must be careful to tell nothing but the truth to the best of your abilities am I understood?"

"Yes Ma'am…if you don't mind me asking…what is this about?" one of the suited men step forward,

"It's about the attack on your aunt."

"Have you found something out?"

"Yes…"

"Fae." The principal interrupts, "You've heard the rumors about people disappearing and those who claim to have seen Mal-Kirio's mark correct."

"Yes I-I have…"

"We found something at the scene that…links this attack to those rumors." The suited man says.

"I…I don't understand…why would you think…" I wet my dry lips, "Have you told my cousin…about this?"

"We have already sent officers to question her as well; we just want to be sure."

"What was it that you found?"

"The mark had been…burned into your aunt's chest as if to warn others."

"My cousin didn't mention anything about a burn mark." I say my voice tensing slightly, "You must be mistaken."

"Fae I know this is hard for you-" shut up!

"No you don't! you can't even BEGIN to understand how I have been feeling these past couple of weeks, going to sleep hoping the attack was just a dream and waking up the next day the fear and threat of a loved one dying hanging in the back of my head like a shadow that I know is following me! You can't even understand the hardship my Cousin has had to go through while she sat and waited for her mother to open her eyes! So please don't try and tell me you understand because it's just going to irritate me." they look behind me and I turn. A thin layer of ice slowly stops spreading over the wall in a jagged pattern. I take a deep breath before dissolving the ice from the wall and turn back around. there are a few tense moments that pass before he speaks again, "It's a quirk ok?! My powers are…Strangely connected to my emotions. When I get stressed or upset about something this happens! ask any of my friends."

"I apologize I didn't mean to cause you more distress…but whether you heard it or not it is true."

"Stop." Principal Kerington commands him and the man steps back. She stands placing her hands behind her as she walks over to me. "Fae…please…" she places a hand on my shoulder trying to console me, "I'm asking you to endure this not just as your principal bat as an adult concerned for the safety of not only you but all the students here in this school…there are events happening that suggest Kirio's return is apparent…these men need your cooperation in order to prevent that from happening. If they don't stop it many others will be hurt just like your aunt. I'm sure you don't want that happening to your friends nor you cousin as well right?" I can feel myself o the verge of tears as I try to take a few deep breaths, "There have even been small events here in this town that suggest we are not all safe. A few weeks ago there was a murder it was close to a music store in the down town area." I suddenly remember the crowd I saw when Castiel and I were leaving that one time, "…they found Mal-Kirio's name written all over the walls at the scene…" she places her other hand on my shoulder having me face her with a concerned yet understanding look on her face, "I understand that it isn't fair to this of you after the tragedy only just past; and I understand that this is difficult but can you place answer their questions?" I take a deep breath and turn to the three men,

"I want Kim and Castiel in here with me…I'm not answering anything unless they're here."

"That's not-" principal Kerington holds up a hand glaring coldly at the man,

"Will it help you dear; to have your friends with you?"

"Yes…" she nods.

"Nathaniel!" he opens the door hearing her call, "Please go and get Miss Kim and Castiel for me." hearing their names they burst in through the door and stand next to me.

"Ma'am this isn't what we discussed." The man says; principal Kerington only pushes up he glasses,

"gentlemen I understand you have a job to do; but I too have a job to do as well. I am tasked with guarding the safety of the students in this school as well as their education." She pulls on her suit jacket as she straitens it out, "I understand that you must get all the information that you can but when that objective causes mental and emotional harm to a student. Well…I simply will not stand for it. In other words gentlemen if I can prevent it…I will keep such harm from coming to my students…am I understood?" her authority leaves no room to be opposed be even the three of them. She folds her hands in front of her, "Now she has agreed to answer your questions for you…I think you can allow her to have some comfort in knowing that her friends are here for her in the same room…don't you?" they have no room to argue and I swear I see one of them shivering at her tone and I gain a whole new respect for Principal Kerington.

"Very well."

They ask me about any enemies that my Aunt would have then if I had noticed anything out of the ordinary with her at anytime. They then ask me about the mark rumors or if I have witnessed anything out of the ordinary in the town here. I obviously tell them about my encounter with the people who tried to take me before I came back but nothing else. As the questioning continues they ask me an unnerving question,

"Do you know anyone that possibly has additional information on incidents that are possibly linked with Mal-Kirio?" my mind immediately thinks of Castiel and his dark past that is supposedly linked to Mal-Kirio. My friendship with him feels more important to me rather than telling them about it; and since he's not ready to tell me I know full good and well as he would put it, no way in hell, that he would tell them about it.

"No…I don't." I lie straight through my teeth.

"Very well. Is there anything else that you know or think may be useful to us?"

"No…"

"Any other events that you can think of?"

"No."

"Any-"

"NO! okay?! NO!" I'm just about done with their inconsiderate attitude.

"Gentlemen…" The principal warns them raising an eyebrow. All three of their shoulders twitch.

"That will do thank you for your cooperation."

"Can I go now?" I ask.

"Yes you may Miss Fae. Thank you for your help." The principal says and I leave without a second thought. Instead of heading for class I head up to the roof with Kim and Castiel still following me. once out there I let loose a cold blast of ice and snow around me! ice sickles scatter on the ground around me,

"Want to aim to the right next time?" I snap my head around hearing Castiels remark seeing the ice nearly hit the both of them.

"Sorry."

"You ok?" Kim asks.

"No! they made me mad!"

"Join the club they pissed me off too just watching them…" Castiel says, "I may be a demon but even I know when to not push a person's button like that."

"This whole thing with Mal-Kirio is getting out of hand. How is it even possible that he can move this quickly?" no one answers Kim's questions.

"…I don't think it's actually him…" Castiel is so quiet that we almost can't hear him.

"What do you mean?" Kim asks

"I mean not directly at least…"

"So someone is doing the work for him…how would you know that?"

"…never said I DID." He glares coldly.

"You're suddenly very defensive."

"I'm not...just saying it's a thought." Just how deep is Castiel's past mixed with Mal-Kirio.

"if that's the case then why do you sound like you know more than your letting on?"

"I don't alright? Just drop it Kim!"

"Not until you tell us what's going on."

"I don't know! Alright?! Just…forget I said anything!"

"They just interrogated Fae like a criminal because they thought she knew something! if you really cared about her you would tell them what you know!"

"I DON"T!"

"Stop both of you!" I shout turning their attention to me, "Kim if he says he doesn't know anything then he doesn't…Castiel stop letting this get to you so much ok? I'm fine just mad at them…look let's just get back to class and forget about what just happened in there ok?" they exchange looks silently agreeing to let it go.

Sorry guys I know you were expecting a longer chapter but I need time to think about the next part of the chapter I'll give you a hint as to who's being introduced…she has an album you give to Iris in the actual game…if you guys don't know who I'm talking about then go play the game again to find out. Now for those of you who do know who I'm talking about know about how much of a pain in the butt and how mean she is but I'm having a hard time as to choose what kind of creature I want her to be so I need a little time to think about it and about how I want to introduce her and things like that. So please be a bit more patient and if you have an idea please let me know I'm always open for constructive advice and criticism. RxR please I'd like to know your take on the principal's personality too if you liked it or not.
