Jealous Yet?

Percy's POV

Disclaimer: I'm pretty sure I don't own Percy Jackson, trust me :P

We need to talk.

My eyes fluttered open immediately once i found out the message was from Annabeth. I couldn't help but just stare at the phone screen deciding whether or mot to answer her. My hands were starting to feel cold and sweaty. Why was i so nervous? I sighed, maybe it was because it was the first time in forever since Annabeth texted me. I took a deep breath as i typed away.

What's up?

I quickly rise from my bed slowly throwing my phone on my bed. I began to walk around feeling more and more anxious. I then freeze once i heard my phone ring. I walked back picking up my phone

Sorry about what happened earlier at school. -A

What do you mean? -P

You know between you and Luke. Especially for making out in front of you at lunch. -A

That's alright. I don't even remember that happening anyways :P -P

You're such a seaweed brain lol -A

I felt myself smile as i reread the text.

That's why you love me ;P

She didn't reply after that.

The next morning I went out for my morning jog around the neighborhood with Grover who couldn't stop asking me about the Annabeth situation with last night.

"She didn't text back after that" I said taking a stop near the park. Grover who was right behind me caught his breath before speaking up.

"Well text her again."

I shook my head "No, I don't want to look desperate. Besides I have other things on my mind."

He looked confused "What things?" he asked taking a sip of his water.

"I promised Rachel I would help her with a painting of hers"

Grover looked at me oddly as I sat down on a bench not located far from where we stood.

"So, how's things with Rachel lately? You seem to be liking her alot. Huh?" he let out

"She's cool, she's been helping me massively with the whole Annabeth thing." I explained looking up at him.

He laughed "Exactly how has she been helping you?"

"She makes me forget about her you know? Every time I'm out with her, my mind forgets all about Annabeth. It's as if she never even existed! Like yesterday Rachael stayed over for dinner and not even once did I remember her. Until I got a text from Annabeth. I couldn't sleep after that."

"That's nice." he muttered quietly as I stood back up ready to go back home.

Line Break

"Stop moving you dork" Rachael pleaded throwing another one of her pencils at me.

I laughed "Alright alright, but please hurry up. My butt can't take this anymore!" She just smiled making my heart melt just a little.

"Okay but you got to hold still Perce." she informed looking back down at her sketch pad resuming her work. I did what i was told and sat there on the wooden chair with my arms crossed. I couldn't help but stare at her as she squinted her eyes down at her sketch pad. Her red fuzzy hair was pulled up into a ponytail reveling more of her face. She was wearing a pair of blue skinny jeans along with a plain white t-shirt. She looked up at me once again taking a deep glance at me before bringing her head back down.

"You look beautiful today." I blurted out without realizing it. She laughed before bringing her eyes back at me. I felt myself go red as she stood up from her seat and walked towards me.

"That's very nice of you Percy. You don't look so bad yourself." she answered handing me her sketch pad. Our hands touched as I retrieved the sketch pad from her hands making me blush even more. I glanced down at the drawing and my mouth shot wide open as I observed the sketch of me in full detail.

"Wow, Rachael this is AMAZING! How did you -" I was cut off once she leaned down wrapping her arms around me pulling me closer to her.

"Thank you for doing this" she whispered into my ear sending a cold shiver down my spine. I automatically had the courage to wrap my arms around her. We stayed like that for a few more minutes but pulled away once we heard the front door open.

It was Annabeth.

Annabeth's POV

I didn't know what got over me. I just couldn't sleep and felt the urge to text Percy and know what he was up to. Ever since he started to hang out with Rachel he seemed to be more distance and I would rarely see him anymore. I would go out and find him hoping he would be alone. Yet, every time I would find him Rachel would be there talking to him.

Honestly, I don't know why I'm feeling this way. I just want to hang out with Percy alone and no one else. I miss the way we used to tell each other silly stories as he would hold me tight into his arms whispering little things into my ear making me feel butterflies in my stomach. All this was my fault,ever since we entered high school I never paid much attention to him anymore. I was spending more time with my boyfriend Luke than Percy and my other friends. If only I paid more attention to him, but now that Rachel has entered his life I can't be with him as much. Every time I see them together I feel bits of me fall apart.

I stopped once I realized what I said.

I can't be jealous...can I? Nah, that can't be it.

I took a deep breath before picking up my phone. First I need to apologize to him for being so stupid and never paying enough attention to him and our friends. Then we'll be back to being best friends...hopefully.

We need to talk.

Minutes later I heard my phone ring.

What's up?

I sighed in relief, he actually answered.

I felt my heart get louder and louder with every text I read

I laughed loudly, but stopped suddenly before waking up my family

That's when I lost it. I couldn't reply back.

The next morning, I decided to go over at his house and hang out, but after what happened last night I knew that it was going to awkward.

Before I had the chance to text him if it was alright with him if I could come over I received a phone call from Luke.

"Hey babe" Luke whispered through the phone.

"Hey Luke" I answered as I waled down the stairs to the kitchen.

"I was wondering if you would like to come to a party with me tonight." he asked

I frowned, "Luke I don't think I'll be able to. I have other plans tonight."

He stayed silent

"Aww come on Annabeth! Is it because your dad again isn't it?"

"No Luke, my dad's family is coming over tonight for dinner and I can't leave the house." I lied hoping he would buy it.

"Okay okay, I was hoping you would come along with me, but can you come with me next time?" he asked

"Yeah I promise."

He laughed, "Alright Annie, call you later babe. Love you"

"Love you too, bye" I said before hanging up.

"Don't tell me you're still dating that Luke guy." I heard my dad say taking a seat on the kitchen table. He had his cup of coffee on his right hand while holding the daily newspaper with his left.

I sighed, "Dad please can you just leave him alone already? He's not a bad guy"

He laughed "Yeah right, like I'm supposed to believe that."

I ignored him as I made myself some tea.

"Annabeth." He said trying to grab my attention.

"Yeah?" I asked not looking at him.

"I just want you to be safe. This Luke guy doesn't look like safe to be hanging around with...especially if you're dating him." he explained , "Ever since you've started dating him you've been more distant. You go out more, come home late and you rarely talk to your mom and two brothers."

"Dad, stop!" I shouted this time staring right back at him. "She's not even my real mom and let me remind you that they're your family not mine. Also can you stop hating on Luke so much? He has helped me alot and I would appreciate it if you would leave him alone."

With that I immediately left the house forgetting my tea.

Line Break

"Annabeth! What a surprise!" Percy's mom said pulling me into her arms.

"It's been long" I said as she pulled away with a wide smile on her face.

"You don't know how much I missed you" she admitted letting me into the house. "I thought Percy scared you off or something because you never come over anymore." she joked making me laugh.

"No, it's just that I've been very busy lately and didn't have time to hang out with him anymore." I half lied

"But now you're here and that's what important right now." She said

"Where is Percy by the way?" I asked noticing he wasn't here.

"Oh he's upstairs with a friend."

"He must be busy, I'll come here next time when he's free." I concluded getting ready to head out the door.

"Don't worry, stay. He wouldn't mind." She said

"You sure? I don't want to cause trouble Ms. Jackson."

"Please stay, don't worry. And call me Sally."

I smiled "Thank you so much."

She smiled "You could head up to Percy's bedroom if you want while I prepare dinner." with that she headed towards the kitchen.

I decided to go upstairs and see what he was up to. He was probably playing video games with Grover.

Once I opened the door I saw Percy and Rachel hugging each before letting each other go quickly.

Shit.
