"Well Melinda, your scans look great. I don't see any issues. With some proper rest, you'll be fine," said Dr Stone.
"Thank you," yawned Melinda.
"I think it might be time for that proper rest now. If you have any concerns, let me or your doctor know, okay?"
"Okay." Melinda gave the neurosurgeon a smile and then closed her eyes until he left the room. "Jim, did you hear him? I'm fine. Stop worrying honey."
"I can't Mel. I almost lost you. I don't want to lose you babe. I love you so much," said Jim.
"I know you do and I love you too but worrying won't help."
Jim smiled at his wife before yawning himself.
"Go home Jim. Get some sleep."
After more coaxing, Jim agreed to go home, but promised that he'd be back early the next morning.
"Finally Jim! I've been waiting for an hour to go home." Melinda smiled. She had only been waiting about ten minutes, and Jim had come early like he'd promised, but Melinda was bored at the hospital.
"Okay, come on baby." Jim smiled happily. Melinda's doctor had called a few minutes ago to say that Jim could take Melinda home, and Jim was excited.
The two of them walked out of the hospital together and went home. Although the police had searched, the person that had almost killed Melinda hadn't been found, and everyone assumed that they had left town. Not interested in the slightest, Melinda had told Jim to forget about it and move on. He was still worried, but didn't show it anymore.
