Mirror Reflection
(one-shot)
Yuuki's pov
She looked at the white school uniform that was brand new, laying on her king sized bed. The contrast between the black sheets and the material used for the expensive jacket and skirt made her think about how different they are now.
'His uniform should be black...' A quick thought runs through her mind.
She hopes that Kaname will recognize her. Even if he was the older one when they last saw each other there's still a chance that he will no longer remember her. She shakes her head and tries to cast away thoughts like this from wandering into her mind again. If she starts thinking this way it makes her afraid, it makes her want to runaway and hide without ever trying to contact him again.
But it's already too late for her to be able to protect him only by staying away and pulling strings from the shadows. She knows that headmaster wouldn't lie about something as serious as Kaname losing his mind. So it's gotta be true. She knew that this day would come, but she still wasn't ready for it. Actually she doubts she would ever be. It would be a lot better if it all was just a huge joke.
"Yuuki-sama, it's time." she hears a soft voice behind her back. It's Aidou, her most trusted man and closest friend.
It's time...
When Yuuki arrives at Cross Academy it's still day. Although she doesn't fancy the time of day and exceptionally not when sun rays are as direct as today, she still chooses to arrive at a time like this. Even if she will feel anemic and her eyes will hurt, at least the chances of encountering him are bigger.
As she gets out of the car Aidou stands to her side and holds out an umbrella for her. Yuuki gives him a small smile as a silent thanks for trying to reduce her suffering.
When they start to go to the headmaster's office Yuuki looks around in hopes of at least catching a glimpse of him. Even though there are tons of Day Class students walking around and some of them even staring at her, she can't find him. She sighs 'Oh, well...'
Now it's just her. Aidou went to organize their things in the dorm rooms in which they will stay, while she was asked to wait for headmaster in his office.
Yuuki was so lost in trying to think about something that she didn't even noticed headmaster entering his office and sitting down.
"Yuuki-san... It's been a long time..." Now that she's woken up from her thoughts she notices that he's different his from usual self. Most of the time headmaster Cross is cheerful and sometimes even very annoying, but this time he was serious. There was only one time in her whole life that she has seen this expression before - the night when her parents were killed.
"So I guess it's true... The seal that mother put on Kanames mind is breaking... Thought until the last moment I still hoped it was some cruel joke... Can... Can I see him..?" Her tone was ice-cold, the habit she got from dealing with aristocrats every day, but headmaster knew that beneath that surface there's oceans worth of feelings.
"Kaname's asleep right now... He hasn't been attending classes for a week now, because of delusions that visits his mind randomly... You can wait in his room until he wakes up if you please though." Yuuki nods letting headmaster understand her decision to visit him now.
Headmaster stands up and motions Yuuki to follow him. Just a bit. Just a bit and she will be able to see her beloved's face first time in 5 years.
The room she enters is very plain. You can find only few necessities like bed, nightstand and a chair beside the window. Somehow this room seems depressing to her. Even though you can't find a room that would look even more opposite to her own, it still gives her the same chilly vibes she feels while spending time on her window sill reading book or just staring at the moon.
As the headmaster closes the door behind her, leaving them alone someone stirs on the bed. Someone who she didn't notice before. She turns her head and sees Kaname's face. Seeing him brings a smile to Yuuki's lips, a genuine smile that wasn't there for last five years.
Kaname matured to be quite a handsome guy. His chocolate-brown hair looked so silky that she wanted to run her hands through it and never stop. Not just that, Yuuki wanted to hug Kaname as tight as she could without hurting him and never let go. Though at least attempting to do ether, would wake him up, making him very confused and considering his current state of mind that would be very bad.
Yuuki yawned. 'It seems that walking around in daylight for few days in a row took out more from me than I thought it would...' She went to the bed and sat down on the floor next to where Kaname's hand was. She laid her head on the bed. 'Just for a while...' Yuuki thought as she drifted to sleep.
Kaname's pov
Once Kaname woke up everything in his vision was covered in crimson. Even his hands and face, he could feel the metallic taste of blood in his mouth and smell it in his hair. He wanted to scream as loud as could, but no sound came out of his mouth. Maybe that was the blood's fault.
He started moving his hands and felt something very soft. He moved his head sideways and saw a petty figure lying next to his arm. She looked so fragile yet mature, but she also was covered in blood. Suddenly the recognition dawned on him. This now already a young lady was Yuuki. The girl who used to visit once in a while until she suddenly just stopped coming over and even calling all-together. She was his first love, even now he often thinks about her and still loves her. It's true though that he thought he'd never see her again, but Kaname didn't even try to fall in love with someone else. And now she was here, next to him. All he hoped was that this is not another one of his illusions.
"Kaname..." He saw big hazel eyes look up to him. A smile played on her lips and suddenly all the blood that was in the room disappeared "Kaname, do you remember me?"
"Of course. I would never forget you Yuuki." He answered quickly as he sat up, surprised by her question. How could he forget her?
"That makes me very happy... But you also know that I'm different from everyone in Day Class, right?" Suddenly her expression changed into a serious one and he was perfectly aware why that happened. Kaname nodded, waiting for her to continue talking. "Kaname, I know what's happening to you. Actually that's why I'm here. I can take away all of the suffering you're going through now, but you have to understand the consequences. After I save you, you will never be the same again... You won't be able to be around people you used to be, that means you'll lose all your friends, you also won't be able to stay here any longer and you'll have to come with me and that's not all... So Kaname you have to choose. I'll give you few days to make up your mind, but now I have to go... See you Kaname."
Kaname was about to answer her, but Yuuki just stood up, flashed a sad smile and walked out of the room without letting him say a word. He fell back on his bed. He didn't need few days, he already made up his mind.
Author's Note: So I'm back~! (at least I hope) I was just wondering trough the oceans of fanfics and suddenly remembered this one-shot series, so I got very nostalgic and started reading reviews and after I read one left by Avenging NekoI got inspired and wrote this. So thank you.
It's actually really late here (4 a.m.) and I'm to hyped up to wait for tomorrow to post it, so I'm posting Mirror Reflection now. So sorry if it sucks and I hope there aren't too many errors and if it's hard to read I'm very sorry. Also it's meant to consist of few parts so if you want me to write and post the second part please say so in the reviews ^^
