Hello the good people of Fanfiction. I want to start off by saying I'm sorry for such a delay in the chapter. With school bringing me a lot of stress on my life along with some other personal things, it's a bit hard to find the time to sit down and write, but I have not given up yet. Chapter 5. I Let Go Of My Rose

Another day has been brought to the wolves of Jasper Park. Most wolves are still asleep, but as for our Alpha couple, they're always up and early. Today was their day off, but like most Alphas, they wake up for anything. Kate and Garth woke up only a few minutes ago, stretching and letting out small yawns. Once Kate finished she looked over to see Garth done as well. She walked over to him and placed her head on his chest, happy that after all this time of being married, they finally get some free time to be alone with each other.

"How do you feel about talking a walk around the pack? I never really got a good chance to see what's changed around here over the year", Kate said wanting to spend some time with her lover.

"I'm glad you agree", Kate said as she leaned her body gently onto his as they took off for a walk.

They walked out the den and down the slope, heading out in random directions to enjoy a nice walk in the park for once instead of chasing caribou.

Soon after they were surprised to see Humphrey and Lilly up so early with them. Usually all the Omegas are up about an hour later. They walked over to see what was up.

"Humphrey, Lilly. What are you doing up so early?", Kate asked, curious as to why they're here.

"Oh, Lilly couldn't sleep so we decided to come out of the den and walk around a bit", Humphrey replied smiling wide along with Lilly which confused Kate and Garth a bit.

"Is everything okay?", Kate asked a little concerned.

"Never better", Humphrey replied.

"Why's that? I thought you said Lilly can't sleep", Garth asked, giving them a weird look.

Humphrey looked at Lilly, receiving a smile from her precious face. She looked over at Kate and Garth, noticing the anticipation they both showed. With only two words, Lilly answered.

"I'm pregnant", Lilly replied smiling wide from the thought of it.

Kate and Garth's jaws both dropped, completely surprised that the innocent little Omega has a litter of pups growing inside of her. Kate was absolutely speechless, but Garth just realized what that meant for Humphrey.

They both snapped out of their stare and tried to find the words on what to say.

"And congratulations on being a father, Humphrey", Kate said hugging him as well.

Kate and Lilly both broke away from Humphrey to have some girl talk, so Garth came up to discuss things with Humphrey.

"You never told me you were hittin' that", Garth asked grinning at the idea of it.

"You never asked", Humphrey replied with his own smirk.

"Ya, but-but you and her were...", Garth tried to say, but stopped by Humphrey's funny, casual stare.

"What me and my mate do is kind of between us", Humphrey replied with a smile. "But you're right, I scored big time HA HA", Humphrey added as he jumped up and down happy.

"When did you two find out?", Garth asked.

"Just yesterday actually. I was just glad I finally found her", Humphrey replied grateful.

"What happened anyway?"

"I can't remember very well. I passed out and all I can really remember was waking up in the main Alpha den later that day, with Eve smiling which I might add is really weird for her. Then she told me where Lilly was and I just ran to her", Humphrey said remembering the relief he had when he saw her. "We hugged, we cried, then she told me she was pregnant and I just turned to stone", Humphrey added.

"What was your reaction?", Garth asked.

"I was still trying to process everything in my head. We both knew for the longest time that she might be pregnant so I knew it was possible. It's just the way it hit me. I knew that if it was true, I was going to be a dad, a father. Just what I wanted. Once I thought it all out, I just couldn't help from smiling and jumping around. As you can imagine, we were both very happy to hear about it", Humphrey finished.

"Yeah, I bet", Garth thought. "Wait! you guys were prepared for this?", Garth asked surprised yet again.

"Like I said. What me and Lilly do together is for us to know, and maybe at some point you'll figure out or we just can't keep it to ourselves", Humphrey replied grinning.

Over to where the girls were, they were having their own version of the topic. They were casually walking, enjoying their time together.

"You gotta tell me, Lilly. What's it like being pregnant?", Kate asked, wondering about the life of a pre-mother, focusing all her attention on her younger sister.

"Well physically, it's not the best to be honest, and I know it's only going to get worse pretty soon. But mentally, it's like you're really really excited, but there's also a lot of things I'm worried about like all the mood swings, and making sure I don't do something that might hurt the pups", Lilly said, explaining her new full time job.

"I'm sure as long as you don't do anything wild and dangerous you'll be fine", Kate said.

"I'm sure everything will be fine, but it's just something you're always thinking of now. It's a big responsibility, and I'm willing to make the sacrifices, and I know Humphrey is too", Lilly said determined.

"Meaning no more playing around for you", Kate said with a joking voice, giving her little sister a wink to let her know what she meant.

"Oh shut up, Kate", Lilly snapped back jokingly. "At least I get the chance to", Lilly said as a comeback.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah", Kate blabbed walking around awkwardly.

"I know this isn't really any of my business, Kate, but do you and Garth ever plan on having pups?", Lilly asked with curiosity.

Kate froze in her place, completely stunned by the question she was being asked. She found herself imagining her and her mate with pups, raising them together in their den as parents. What was weird though is that Kate started imagining backwards, trying to think of what it would be like being pregnant, carrying the life that her and Garth would have created. "I plan to", Kate replied. "Anyway I better get back to him. It's our only day off and we need to make the most of it. I'll see you later, Lilly", Kate said as she quickly padded her way back to Garth.

"See ya, Kate", Lilly waved as her older sister left.

Lilly didn't know what to do with the rest of her day, it doesn't seem like she could do a whole bunch now that she's pregnant or else maybe she'd go log sledding, or hiking, or swimming, or something a little more crazy and active. She almost felt kind of crippled, as if she would have to wait until after she gives birth to do anything fun. That was the one real downside, but at least she has a loving, caring mate she could go to. Someone who will keep her company, and try to make staying at home a little more enjoyable.

Lilly smiled at the thought of Humphrey, how him and her will be parents soon. The thought made her want to smile even wider, but her face was starting to hurt just from how long she's been doing it for. She felt like she needed to rest. She went to go find Humphrey and let him know what she needed.

Later on that day around the afternoon, Kate was inside the den trying to decide on what to do with the rest of her and Garth's day off, not wanting it to go to waste. What her and Lilly were discussing earlier this morning has really got her thinking, thinking of something very important, a decision that her and Garth are going to have to discuss together.
