Starfire stroked Robin's hand, trying to comfort him in the medwing. It'd been two days since they found him and brought him back to the tower. He was almost exactly the same as when they found him in that room.

The only difference was that he had control of his body again. Cyborg kept going over his blood work, trying to identify what chemicals were used on him. So far they could only ID some body numbing formula and a hallucinogen. None of it really made sense, mostly because none of them understood chemistry that well. Very few of the things found in his body were in their systems, and that was a bad.

"He's not getting better," the former athlete admitted to the rest of his team, barely out of earshot. "I mean, he can move around a bit but he hardly says anything. His heart rate keeps going up and down and his brainwaves are erratic. And he hardly says anything!"

"He keeps mumbling for peanuts," Beast Boy pointed out. "But when I brought some over, he pouted and turned away!"

"Peanut must mean something else," Raven surmised. "Or maybe the things inside him are messing with his mind and he can't tell what's going on around him."

"Anything's possible. I'm trying to clean out his blood but..." Cyborg looked around helplessly. "I'm not a doctor. Doing anything could do more harm than good. We need to tread carefully here."

"What we need is outside help." The empath looked back to their leader through a window, non-responsive to all of them, even Starfire. She knew how those two felt about each other, and yet even she couldn't get anything from him. They'd been asking for days what had happened, and all Robin would do was curl up, look away, and keep his mouth shut except for a few words. None of them could get a positive reaction from him, if any. "Really good outside help."

They looked at their leader in silence, not liking the conclusion they were coming to. Cyborg had the courage to voice it, barely. "Either we talk to someone in town... or we call in Batman. There really aren't any other options."

"Do you think he'd come?" BB asked, slightly skeptic. Batman was a taboo around Robin. They parted on bad terms as far as they could tell. It was possible the two hated each other now. Not once did they see the legend in all the time they'd known him. Would he show up if his former partner was in trouble?

They all honestly shrugged. Who knew. "Wouldn't hurt to tell him either way. I don't think he'd hurt us or him if we called."

"Great. Does anyone have his number?" They exchanged looks, realizing a real problem they had. How to get in touch with the most elusive superhero of them all? Robin would have a way, but they spent half a day trying to get into his room to try and find out about this 'peanut'. No one could get in. Even searching Robin's specially secured utility belt for a key was impossible. How were they supposed to get in touch with the Bat?

They looked down in thought. There had to be another way to contact him. "One of us could fly over to Gotham..."

"Are you kidding me?!" Beast Boy objected really loudly, wildly moving his arms as he spoke. "He'll go mental on you! Mento told me how he creamed the entire patrol when they came to Gotham uninvited! Then he helped them take on Madam Rouge! Course they got the credit but it was his plan. I hear he even scares Superman out of his city! That guy's super protective of it. Going there is not an option. We have to contact him another way."

His friends looked at the green one for a minute, almost as if he sprouted wings. He was pretty sure he hadn't. "What?!"

"The League. We can contact the League. They can get a hold of him."

"And how do we contact them?" BB still didn't get it. "We don't exactly have them on speed dial."

"Through you."

"Huh?"

"The Doom Patrol and the Justice League talk to each other right?" Cyborg pointed out. "All you've got to do is have them talk to the League and set up introductions. If you tell them it's about Robin, they may help."

"They'll help us get in contact with Batman," Raven confirmed. "If they can't, they'll help us get someone we can trust to help him. You contacting the Doom Patrol is our best chance for helping him."

Beast Boy looked between the two, a pit growing in his stomach. His resent reunion with the Patrol returned him to good graces with them (okay, maybe the bad feeling was just between him and Mento but that was quickly settled) but he wasn't about to come crawling back every time something went wrong. Not to mention that was a lot of pressure to put on a kid! Couldn't they count on someone else?

Suddenly waltzing into Gotham just to get the Bat's attention wasn't such a bad idea.

He gave a shaky smile. "Yeah... leave it to me guys! I'll get Batman here!"

A/N: yeah, how do you get batman's number? I'm afraid they have to go through hoops to get him, and when heroes are busy, they can't get through them very fast.
