Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters in this story…
Warning: slight oocness… maybe? (This is AU (ALTERNATE UNIVERSE) of course there would be slight oocness!)
AN: Here's chapter 6… enjoy ;) Feel free to point out and correct the mistakes… I would like to thank 'AerisseHasste' and 'Truth and Tragedies' for editing this chapter (I love you guys so much ^_^). I'm really sorry for the sarcasm. I was just busy in making my second and third cardfight vanguard fic. I've 'recently' (not really) posted it so if you're interested you can check it out. Here are there summaries:
*Tomorrow Never Lies
AU Parents don't expect much from their children. They just want them to be safe, protected and free from trouble. It was hard to face the facts but… it made him even more determined to help his family. Driven in poverty, there are trials and obstacles to be overcome. Is he strong enough to face it alone? Or will he need a helping hand on his way. Remember, you are not alone. We are here for you, always.
*(I don't know if I'll make it a 'Kaichi bromance' but we'll see ^_^)*
*Thank You, Oniichan!
AU On the 21st of August, Year 20XX, a seven year old boy with a tuff of blue hair tousled to the side and deep blue ocean eyes died on a hit and run incident. Two years later, a middle school student opted to take a short rest on a nearby park only to be disturbed when a child suddenly threw himself on his lap crying, much to his shock. (I actually made a Kuroko no Basket version of this fic, if you're interested you can check it out on my profile ^_^)
*Kai is a teenager while Aichi is a kid in here (just imagining the sight of it is TOO CUTE~ for me ^_^)*
(I'm sure some of you have probably read it. Thanks a lot by the way.)
So yeah, Anyways, Now
On to the story! Enjoy!
Chapter 6-Scarred for life?
It was a hot Tuesday morning. Scorching H-O-T. Normally, this wouldn't have bothered Aichi because despite of the hot weather, their first activities involved a lot of physical activities. She cringed.
The sun must be mocking them. Its bright rays streamed down on the grounds and the not so light breeze of the wind which was barely cooling them made her feel the heat even more. Most of all, she wasn't the only one suffering from this outrageous heat. All of the students were required to participate in the exercise.
No EXCEPTIONS.
The purpose of this was to prepare or strengthen them for their strenuous hike tomorrow. For the whole day they will be doing stretching, outdoor sports/games, laps and the likes. Except today, she couldn't help but feel the sun was unforgiving. It's not like she completely detested sports mind you, it's just pretty damn obvious that the heat was unbearable at this time. Please… no more…
Aichi Sendou panted heavily, sweat poured down on her chin as she wiped it using the back of her hand. Trying to finish her laps, she almost didn't notice the two figures behind her. By the time they were finished, it was already past noon. This made almost all of the student body to mentally celebrate. Aichi made a tentative smile and slumped her shoulders tiredly. She craned her neck and to her puzzlement, Izaki and Morikawa were talking on the far side corner of the grounds. I wonder what they were talking about. She shook her head, shrugging it off. She ran towards the two and greeted them with a tired smile.

"Aichi-kun, we'll go right ahead. Are you sure you're not going to join us?" Izaki asked for the umpteenth time but the bluenette only nodded and smiled in response. Puzzled by it Izaki frowned. He didn't have time to react when Aichi handed (more like shoved it pleadingly) their towels and change of clothes as she reassured,
"I'll be fine. I'm just tired that's all. I'll rest for a bit and catch up with you guys later."
Those ocean blue doe like eyes seemed to bore into his soul, further begging him to do what the other party says. Ugh. The puppy dog eyes look. How embarrassing for him to fall for it. (How could anyone not fall for it? I mean it's… cute) Aichi's lips twitched upward as she gave a triumphant look.
Finally satisfied with the answer (though a bit reluctant) Izaki nodded to himself and said. "Alright. We'll bring you some refreshments later."
"Thank you Izaki-kun."
"Don't mention it." He waved off and bid his farewell. "Bye."
"Tell Morikawa-kun to not cause a ruckus." She reminded.
"I will."
Closing the door behind him, Izaki smiled. Before turning onto his heels, he paused for a moment, turning to his side he said, "Morikawa, you can come out now."
The said person visibly flinched and stepped outside the corridor he was hiding. He scratched the back of his head and awkwardly went towards his friend. Halting his steps, he replied rather sheepishly, head hung low and eyes looking anywhere but the brunet.
"So you found out huh?"
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" Izaki said knowingly.
Morikawa slumped his shoulders, arms in his pocket; he heaved a sigh, and then asked. "Is he alright?"
"Yeah, he's just tired, Morikawa. Don't worry about it."
"I thought so."
After the sound of footsteps disappeared, Aichi unceremoniously plopped herself on the bed with not so much of a single glance on the clock placed on the table beside her. She made a loud yawn; eyes' drooping in tiredness, sleep seemed to be very much inviting; they were worried about me huh? Recalling the morning events, she slowly closed her eyes shut.
'Thank you.'

"Why do I get the feeling that I smell like a pile of gym clothes?" Miwa grimaced. The odorous smell gave off the feeling of wanting to shower more than twice. He valued his hygiene thank you very much, lips forming into a thin line; he grabbed the towel on his bed and started to wipe off the sweat on his face when a voice came up from behind him.
"That's because you are."
He snapped back and eyed the person incredulously. The said person was casually sitting on a chair beside the desk of their room. The person held a novel in his hand, ignoring the piercing stare being sent at his direction.
"Geez thanks." Miwa shot back with a sarcastic smile, (the edges of his mouth twitching visibly) he slung his towel and grabbed his change of clothes in the process.
"I need to take a shower." He muttered to himself, walking off, he twisted the knob of the door before turning back.
"Kai are you not coming?" he gave a questioning look. The brunet raised a brow, momentarily stopping from his reading session, he firmly replied, "I still have my duties."
"If you're finished with it, you can catch up." The blonde gave a quick glance to the brunet who nodded absentmindedly (probably absorbed on the book he was reading).
"Whatever…"

The door bursts open as Aichi shots up from her bed. She looked up, rubbing her eyes groggily. When she saw who was at the door, she gave a small smile and simply greeted.
"Welcome back." Aichi yawned and stretched her arms lazily.
"Morikawa, you didn't have to slam the door." Izaki lightly chided.
"What? You're ruining the good part."
"Hai Hai."
Aichi watched the two silently, the faintest of a smile gracing her features. With some difficulty, she stood up from her bed (she was still tired).
"I'll be going then."

If anything the shower rooms were twice as wide as compared to the wash rooms. Tiles everywhere, all wiped spotless clean (she could practically see her reflection from their) and a wonderful fragrance gracing the room. She wondered how her school was able to afford this much. It must have been sponsored. Now the real question is: who was the sponsor?
She entered an empty stall, closing the door behind her. She started removing her shorts, plain white shirt including the binder covering her chest. She turned on the faucet as steam later came out from the stall. She hummed a song while ruffling her blue locks.

Taking notice of the time, Kai made a final check of the attendance of his class.
"What are you still doing here?"
Miwa, who came in, had his towel placed around his neck. He pointed at the brunet rather incredulously. Kai shrugged it dismissively, features blank enough to hide his emotions. If Miwa hadn't known his best friend for as long as he has, he would have missed the tinge of annoyance in the teen's normally stoic demeanor. Completely unaffected by the look, Miwa gave a tentative smile.
"If you don't like hanging out with a crowd, you could have told me."
The problem with his friend was his tendency to be too anti-social. It's not like he's not happy with the outcome but he knows Kai was just having a hard time in expressing his 'feelings'. If he even has any. He laughed at his inner musing. Kai blinked once and stared at the blonde with an unreadable expression.
A stilted silence followed. Neither of them made a sound or a move. After a while, Miwa fidgeted on his standing position. He looked pretty much uncomfortable. Kai didn't do any peculiar thing though, merely closing the novel he was reading after placing a bookmark on the page before nonchalantly grabbing his towel and slung it on his shoulder.
He walked past the blonde and halted his steps midway. Miwa stiffened and flinched visibly when a pair of emerald eyes narrowed on him. He knew he made a slip up for saying a personal offence. Though, Kai would be stubborn to admit it right on his face.
"Kai—"
"I didn't say anything though." The brunet replied with a deadpan tone. Miwa craned his neck as he can only to be face with the closing of the door.
"Kai, I didn't get what you just said."

Walking along the wide hallways with its cream colored and architectural designs encrypted just below it reflected elegance. Every intricate detail carved was important. The curve and straight lines meeting at a point and forming like the shape of a snow flake. A piece of art. He mused. The designs were based on the modern western culture indicating that the person who must have own the resort they were lodging in was a foreigner. In a sense, it gave of the welcoming feeling for guests who admire it just by looking. Maybe Miwa was right (though he wouldn't admit this blatantly) going to the trip wasn't so bad after all… maybe. As long as the feeling of boredom will not peeve its way on him.
He arrived at his destination later than he expected it. He must have been admiring the walls far too long. Opening the door with not so much of making a noise, he strolled absentmindedly as he checked through the vast empty shower room. After I will take a quick shower, I'll get back to my reading session once again. Kai thought. He opened the stall closest to him and he couldn't help but feel that something was not right. Unbeknownst to him, someone was already occupying it.
Aichi was glad that she was finished taking a shower. She felt refreshed and she needed to get back to her friends. They might have been waiting for her too long. She grabbed her towel and gingerly wrapped it onto the upper part of her body. She was ready to step out the stall when a 'click' sound reached her ears. She looked up and the familiar emerald jade green eyes stared at her, confusion marred his features and to her utter horror the person shifted his gaze down to her chest. She felt as if her soul was about leave her body. This was bad. Definitely. Her grip slackened on the knob she was holding. A second later, a dark blush blossomed on her face and she shouted the words that first popped in her mind.
"Ah, Pervert!"
Scrambling on her steps, she grabbed the nearest object and with all the strength she could muster, she threw it at the speed of nearly 100 km/hr. The person's head snapped back at the force causing him to lose his bearings and stumbled down backwards.
Thump
The sound reverberated inside the room as seconds ticked by. The seconds seemed to be an eternity to her as she carefully looked at the victim she knocked out. Then realization dawned on her. The familiar tuff of brown hair tousled to the side, the tanned complexion and the jade greens eyes shut of her friend made her pinched the bridge of her nose in failure.
"I messed up huh?"
Now that it was over, how will I ever apologize to him? However did he… she shook her head. I need to find some help.
AN:
Yeah, I know I'm sorry for not updating. I have left you guys far too long and I'm really sorry but thanks a bunch for all of your wonderful reviews, follows and favs. I've been busy for the past couple of months so please forgive me. This chapter's not that long so please bear with it. I have realized that my chapters only reached up to at least 1500-2500k words. But hey, the good news is that I have been editing the first few chapters of this fic. Until then it might take me a while to post the next one. So…
