Chapter 6: Membership Drive

Washington DC: Sub laboratory

Lex Luthor had never felt more satisfied than he is now everything was running smoothly for his so called army, Cadmus's technology proved very beneficial indeed. Cloning wasn't new for him creating genetic copies to battle the man of steel were mostly ineffective products that produced an mentally damaged duplicate who had the concepts of right and wrong twisted and a another who met his end at the hands of an emotionally unstable version of himself, clearly cloning the kryptonian never ended with pleasant results.

Despite these minor setbacks Lex always believed that third time was the charm instead of just tackling Superman he needed to strike the entire organization which would enact it's crumble. Collecting the blood samples turned out to be a half success acquiring Hawkgirl and Green Lantern DNA was a failure but all in due time the opportunity would present itself...patients was a virtue.

Gazing down at scientist from his metallic podium Lex observed the scientist from above his post watching collaborate with the Justice Leagues blood thankfully everyone one of them were considered to be the finest scientist Cadmus had to offer. Incompetence couldn't be afforded from this point on especially when breeding an army of so called 'gods' and becoming the rightful leader of them didn't require it either.

This realization was enough to plaster a grin on the politicians face their would be a new awakening in the world and he would be the martyr in a new world order fulfilling his role as the true world leader not Superman. Lex's ears picked a rather loud series of clanks from behind him indicating that a pair of high heels were heading towards him from the rear, the only woman he trusted mildly to have access in this area.

"I haven't seen that smile on your face in a long time." Amanda Waller stated ceasing her walking right beside the bald man.

Lex chuckled at the large woman's observation. "Well how can I not? A new dawn is about to commence."

Casting a sideways glance his way Luthors words made Waller feel understandably suspicious even though they both had no choice with their collaboration which was on thin ice enough as it is. He might have easily led people into his circle but not her Amanda was no fan of the meta human population but Lex wasn't a saint by any means, his antagonist acts were nation wide his wealth and resources allowed him to avoid the state laws.

Now in an ironic spin Lex could control those laws with a snap of his fingers the Justice League couldn't even touch him if anyone of those high speed flying idiots even thought of crashing through the Lex's office it would be an considered an act of treason the people are already a little weary of Superheroes it wouldn't be to much of a smart move on their part.

"And when this 'dawn commences' what would be your exact role in it?" A part of her already knew the answer to the question but Waller wanted her suspicions to be confirmed.

Lex clasped his hands behind his back in a casual manner though he still kept his smile. "What I've always been doing, maintaining order."

Amanda narrowed her eyes at his words her body tensed with skepticism. "Am I to hope this order doesn't becomes a disorder."

"No."

"You better keep that word. I would hate to know what would happen if an impossible task was handed to the wrong person." Her warning would make anyone shiver in fear but she had to remember that Lex Luthor wasn't just anyone, he was capable of challenging the man of steel through a physical and ideological stand point and could match it.

Turning her heel to leave the abrasive woman's words lingered within Lex's, casting an eye over his shoulder the politician watched her retreating form with a scornful gaze. What did she know about wielding great power? No one was best suited for it but him he even had the means to bring one of them to their knees with an out worldly stone mineral, it was his decision...no, his right to take his place as the true guardian of earth.

He would no longer remain inside of Superman's shadow an extraterrestrial who the fools of this world deem as 'god', no the kryptonian and the League will step down even if it means permanently ending their astonishing career. Returning his attention to the geneticist's Lex located one of cylindrical stasis tubes and noticed one of them had already grown to half of an infant size.

A sinister grin slowly ran across Luthors mouth his army would be born soon now all he had to do was plan his coup d'état the world will now have new a new symbol to gaze up at in the sky.

Watchtower: Medical Bay

Revisiting his cynical thoughts was something Logan was accustomed with his life wasn't the most pleasant but his body had never reacted in that way in a long time, when trying to uncover the secrets from his past he would recurring nightmares or possible memories that Weapon X had implanted in his mind. Charles promised to rid the mental images from his brain he wasn't fully successful but Logan had to make the best of what he could do it was mostly up to Logan too uncover the truth by himself.

As years passed he managed to get as much information as he could while many memories were real their were also many that were false, discovering the truth of who he really is was always slipping from him. It was at the moment that Logan had to move on from his past and focus on the future being an X-men was who he was now being a teacher for those would take up the plate as the new generation of mutant heroes he believed that brainwashing and conditioning that was placed on him had been dealt with.

Or so he thought.

Opening his eyes for what had to be the fourth time or fifth time, ever since he had come here Logan was constantly being knocked unconscious either through a telepathic attack or being crushed deep beneath someone large foot in many ways Logan didn't expect a warm welcome coming here not with his experience. He suddenly felt a weight on his chest which was slightly light raising his head he witness the sight of a sleeping teenaged girl.

Kara snored in her slumber during his episode Logan did notice her holding him down his vision was faint but it was clear enough for him to see thankfully she had a powerful grip on her Logan didn't know what would have happened and more importantly he didn't want to think about it. Deciding now was the best opportunity for his body to be fully awake Logan slowly and carefully raised hand placing it on her head he slid over towards the left while simultaneously grabbing the pillow at the top, he gently put the young girls temple on the soft object.

A small trace of confusion was in the feral mutants eyes he could understand the long talks they both had but he didn't think that she would go out of her way to make sure he was still alive. Logan still didn't know much about the girl nor did she know much about him, even on this earth teenagers still didn't make sense in his mind. What was it about him that made young girls want to get to know him?

That particular caused Logan to palm his face. "Don't go there old man." His tone held a rare tremble that was almost foreign coming from him, his thoughts constantly went to that dark memory. Rubbing his fingers againts temple in order to drown out the painful memories...more painful memories being filled within his mind Logan groaned as he slowly slid his hand down from his face as he once again saw the sleeping kryptonian.

Logan observently noted that she was slightly drooling on the pillow he immediately gazed dazed down at his chest and noticed a little trace of saliva across it, the feral mutant quickly wiped off what was left. The kid must be a deep sleeper.

A sleep she practically well deserved him on the other hand had enough since he wasn't in a cell anymore he needed to know exactly where he was, the only thing he knew the name of place but not the in and outs. Sneaking around the entirety of this base wasn't the best move on Logan's part but staying in the hospital wasn't an option either , and even after all this time being in hospitals still wasn't one of feral mutant's favorite places to be in. Pushing forward with his decision Logan turned towards the automatic door once it opened he turned his head in order for him to see Kara still close eyed.

Logan's mouth twiched slightly upwardin a light smile which was probably the most number of ones he's done in years, kids did have that affect on him. Stepping through the door the man's expression shifted to a grimace as he was now treading through dangerous territory, not knowing what lengths that these people would go to in prison him he might've helped them but that didn't mean that they still wouldn't view him as a possible threat. Turning his path of direction towards the right Logan treaded down the metallic corridor in a slow leisurely pace darting his eyes in all possible locations trying to keep an keen look on his surrounding.

The mutant flared his nostrils trying to detect any noticeable scent in the area, Logan's nose managed to pick up some unfamiliar smells in the air many he clearly didn't recognize. There were large amount of scents in the upper floors but not many in the lower portion however the half amount from what Logan could gather were mainly on the floor he was currently on being spotted wouldn't be in his best interest.

With his ears his heightened senses were capable of discovering feint traces of foot steps instinctively the feral clenched both of his fists and altering his walking posture into a predatorial one, keeping his defensive state primed and ready.

"Who would be the perfect choice?" The sudden voice instantly flared Logan's fighting instincts, internally he debated what he should do fight or flight were thoughts running through his mind. "I mean being chairmen takes a lot of dedication and commitment."

A second voice spoke. "Who knows. You think big blue will place his little cousin in the adults table?"

The voices drew closer making Logan adrenaline rise and fall he was prepared to draw his claws, the voices were drawing even more closer towards his position. He weighed the options on what to do he didn't have long to guess who was around the corner, their was only two seconds left for him to make action.

"It's unlikely knowing him he wouldn't place her in a position she wasn't ready for." The two men revealed themselves from around the corner one was dressed in a full blue and red costume his chest embroiled an atom insignia the other had a full red and black but the difference this one did not wear a half face mask.

Elongated man placed a friendly loop of his arm over Atom's shoulder. "Well I wouldn't be surprised if you got the spot. I mean out of all of us your one of the smartest league member we've got" The elastic hero complimented.

Ray chuckled. "Even I don't think I deserve that praise."

"Like hell you..." Before he could revoke his teamates modesty a strange peculiar smell was in the air, enlarging his left nostril Ralph caught the scent of something rather...foul. "Ugh do you smell that?"

The physicist sniffed and immediately scrunched his face while placing his index finger and thumb against his nose. "I hope it wasn't Flash his high speed metabolism could only handle so much of what he eats."

"Tell me about it, I rarely get a chance at the last slice of pizza."

The two men left the area hoping someone could get rid of that foul odor it would be enough to make anyone to blanch...however of course the two reserved members were unaware of the man concealing himself behind the metal column. Stepping out of the shadows Logan felt the tension leave his body knowing that he was in clear for the moment staring down at palms the mutant couldn't exactly say he smelled like a million dollars even he could pick aroma of his deceased friends blood, not to mention his uniform was in shreds he had been in many scrapes in the past so this wasn't new for the Canadian.

He wondeered how Kara could handle the wreched stench of his blood coated body, either she was oblivious or just didn't care whatever the case this just told Logan that sneaking around this station would be difficult. Needing to keep going Logan pressed forward without any hesitation in the direction of the two men were previously thankfully he chose his second option, a little unusual for him but Logan didn't want anyone lying on the cold steel floor dead he didn't know any of these people and killing was something he didn't want to start again.

Continuing on the feral mutant thorough the hall just in order cease his movement to nearby wall as his nose once again picked up the scent of someone else but this time the amount of scents is numerous. Pressing his hand against the surface and giving his head a slight peek Logan caught the sight of a large number of people in colorful costumes that put his to even more shame.

"It's like a rainbow threw up its last shot of liquor." The mutant cynically joked considering his situation it was surprising that he had the nerve to joke.

Thankfully the pathway was a bridge, acting quickly Logan veered towards edge and leaping over the rails he managed to land without making much noise. He spotted a pile of empty metal crates, he immediately vaulted into a combat roll which lead him behind the cubic objects concealing himself from the enemies line of sight. Logan grunted quietly in annoyance knowing well that he was still at a disadvantage the lower area of this floor was still crowded if moved from his current position he'd be detected but staying isn't the best choice either the because of the blood residual odor sooner or later someone would find only solution that would be best is to locate an empty room for the time being.

A loud 'ding' noise snapped Logan mind back to reality as he brought his attention towards the split electronic door the former X-men quickly realized that was gazing hardly at was an elevator. Like before Logan sprinted to the mobile machine placing his his body against the side, luckily the elevator had a cylindrical shape allowing Logan to once again hide his entire body the doors swiftly swung open revealing two of the members of the league

One of them wore a silver tite suit that completely covered his body including the face it and just like the other man from before he had an atom insignia on his chest the second man downed a red uniform though he had a cape but it was uniquely covering his right shoulder, and of course like most of them he had a symbol in th upper midsection which was a lightning bolt. Logan could just quirked an eyebrow from the torn section of his mask these people looked as if they came from degenerate costume party he had seen some strange uniforms in his life but nothing like his head of pointless thoughts slowly made his way in the elevator once the two men were at a far enough distance the feral mutant made his move and entered.

Hearing the doors close from behind Captain Atom immediately turned around only to see the the machine decending. "Did you see anyone walk past us?" He inquired being a long time member he had been up and down the elevator on some occasion the doors always sealed themselves in ten seconds, this however was three seconds.

"Don't know." Captain Marvel shrugged . "Maybe it was Batman. You know how much he likes to surprise everyone."

Both men felt a cold chill run up their spines Batman had the tendency to leave a fearful mark where ever he went on the station.

"Well even if it was him." The nuclear powered man scrunched his nose. "He really needs a shower."

The god child couldn't agree more with that comment.

The elevator made its way towards the complete downward area of the Watchtower once he entered out Logann felt a large wave of heat come into contact with his skin throwing him out of his focus for a split second, slightly taking a whiff of the air trying to detect any signs of life. None were present and he highly doubted anyone would come down in this section of the station, it was a lined with mechanical generators. "Must be the engine room." Logan deduced.

The machines hummed with power and energy powering the entire fortress it was amazing that they were capable of keeping it running, this place also had to be funded by someone the very thought just crossed Logan's mind. The technology here was highly advance maybe to Starks level of brains, either they worked with government like how the Avengers use to or one of the members was exceedingly rich Logan entered the room fully examining the mechanised contraptions.

Beast would enjoy tinkering with these, the image of the primate scientist still burned deep within Logan's mind the very thought of carving him up brought a feeling of dread to the pit of his stomach. No matter how many times he tried to remember fond memories of the X-men they would turn to exact moment in time when he killed them all, in desperation the feral mutant clamped his eyes shut in an attempt more tears from flowing Logan was getting sick of crying.

A 'sizzling' sound knocked Logan back to his senses he unintentionally placed his hand on one of the generators slowly removing it from the machine the mutant deeply at his palm, the bottom layer of the glove were gone showcasing his singed fleshed hand. The burns instantly reformed themselves around his hand staring directly at if almost trying to burn a hole through it as his sharp eyes hardened even more, his healing factor was something he couldn't stand at moments sometimes you had to allow the the pain too last.

Logan always stood by his morals and code of honor now he wasn't so sure if he still had those anymore he had dishonored himself yet again, the beast was winning over the man as he stated to believe it worried him to no end. Feeling a hand coming into contact with his shoulder Logan's reflexes instantly took over his body his glared teeth flashing and hands clenched allowing his claws to go forth, turning around within in a flash his adamantium blades impaled the stomach of whoever found him.

Regaining his senses Logan stared down at his claws as they pierced through an abdomen that had green tinted skin, the anger that held his eyes instantly became one of surprise and shock he slowly lifted his head staring at a pair of clear red eyes the eyes of a green martian. Logan slowly pulled back his arm followed by the sharp weapons that housed in his knuckles he expexted blood to seep out...surprisingly there was none just three gaping holes that closed in on themselves surprising the feral mutant even more.

"I hope this isn't a horrible time." His monotone tone was difficult to tell if that was sarcasm. "But there is an offer that I hope you would accept." J'onn mouth morphed into a genuine smile, ones that he doesn't show very often not to metion this was probably his second time within a day.

Something in the pit of his stomach told Logan where this 'offer' was going a part of him wanted to run but the other told him to stay and hear him out. But another part of Logan knew what this offer would entail and he knew he had to prepare for it when the time came.

South America:Brazilian forest

"You'd think trying to find a small artifact would be as easy as a samba dance." A female archeologist exclaimed stepping down in the steep rocky hill the suns rays shined brightly through out the forest granting the flora through out the area and sprout new life. However this was not the case for people the solar rays radiating on them the heat was scorching causing heat waves to be visible even to the untrained eye.

"Luana they are...if your in an American action movie." A droll response was thrown her way from behind.

His lagging pace was doubled by the large amount of equipment he carried on his back for the excavation making it even more difficult to progress forward in the blazing sun. The best attire that was suitable for the weather conditions were wife beaters and hiking shorts, scavenging for artifacts within the forest proved taxing as the two traversed through it for hours on end sweat coated both of their bodies causing their clothing to stick their skin.

Looking back the woman saw how her partner was becoming exhausted from the their hike sighing she stopped abruptly causing him to do the same. "Lets take a break Puablo your legs look as if they'll colapse."

Taking the advice he immediately dropped the burdens from his back and flopped his whole body against one of the trees feeling every aching sore in his body slowly heal from the long trek, The woman followed suit and proceeded rest her in front of her companion grabbing the canteen from her pouch, taking a swig of the refueling liquid she felt replenished in an instant , Puablo followed her example by drinking from his own contents.

"Who needs action movies today anyway?" Luana question allowed Puablo to raise his eyebrow. "When the worlds filled with men and woman in capes." She giggled at the truth of her own statement.

Puablo laughed along with her. "Yeah Superman and Batman great at what they do.

"And Wonder Woman." She responded with a accusing stare.

"And Wonder woman ."A dopy grin plastered itself upon his face Luana knew the reason for that expression and rolled her eyes at her partners juvenile thoughts running through his mind.

"Sadly with this registration act in effect who knows how long the world will realize that their time is over."

Luana noted the grim tone he used causing her mood to shift about the growing events in America which in turn would effect the whole world The Justice League would be replaced with a new breed of "heroes" this news is becoming nation wide and many people were on board for this considering how the Justice League were the most powerful individuals one would lay eyes upon. And people feared power half of those guys could nuke a country without so much as trying.

This was understandable but despite all of the power they had the league always maintained their heroism acts Luana however was against the act she might aswell minority with this along Puablo but she wasn't to pleased with having duplicates of the heroes that already needed.

"It's a shame within itself that people are turning are their protectors." She shook her head in disbelief her words reflecting with it's motions.

"Yeah the world just won't be the same without them." Puablo knew this conversation was making him depressed picking up a nearby stone tossing it up and down in his hand absentmindedly to quell the feeling. Sadly it didn't work tossing the stone out of frustration Puablo rubbed his hair, what he didn't expect was a loud 'clank.'

"Did you hear that?" He asked staring up at her she nodded seeing that she did in fact notice the sound.

She grinned widely "You thinks it's the artifact?"

He only shrugged this only made Luana jump to her feet knowing he wasn't going to win Puablo followed suit packing their belongings they headed down the stony hill toward a clear edge, knowing the sheer height was dangerous the two took out their climbing cables. Binding them around well conveniently placed rocks the archeologist's decended downward in the sounds direction in hopes of finding what they were looking for. Finally reaching the bottom they turned allowing their eyes to settle on the object they belived was the treasure...except that it was unbelievably enormous, not to mention it appeared as if it was a robot.

The two on lookers eyes widened with surprise at the sight of the machine walking around it they got a really good view of its head it had shape and resemblance of a human skull the color scheme was pitch black. Walking down they noticed its arm's it both weren't entirly clear but from the end it looked as if the sections where the hands should be were cannon barrels, it was all they could from where they standing.

"So...is this the treasure that we were supposed to find?" Puablo's question came out as a stutter not sure of how to wrap his mind around from what he was looking at.

"What do you think?" The rhetorical response was enough to answer.

"How has no one discovered this thing yet?" Luana's curiosity weighed on her from what she could see there was so much dirt and rust but it wasn't enough tomake metal brittle.

"Maybe the technology is of alie..."

The booming sound of an engine caused them to jump out of their skins as the supposedly obsolete machinne slowly rose on its feet both occupants ran away from the awakening behemoth, once the distance was cleared they rose their heads in order to stare up at robotic monstrosity. The skull immediately lit itself a flame two large canisters were placed within its chest the glowed with orange light along with the gauge that travele up and down its arms but the sheer height of the machine was staggering it had to be at least seven hundred meters tall it was enough to cause fear with in the heart of anybody.

A gasp managed to escape the mouths Puablo and Luana as they became paralyzed with astonishment and fear the machine lowered its head gazing down at the ant sized creatures slowly raising its arm placing the limb directly in front of them a light flared allowing fire to spew from the opening the only sound that could be heard through out the forest was a scream.

Metropolis: Daily Planet

"Hey Smallville?" The amused but leveled voice coming from the brunette haired woman who was stationed at her work seat behind a cubicle. A responsive sounding 'hm?' was heard from the other side of her cubicle . "How many 'Ls' are in millennium?"

Clark pushed his glasses towards tthe bridge of his nose and chuckled "Two Lois."

Busy and workaholic ways filled the entire office people taking direct oder and getting the job done always relaxed Clark in a way it reminded him of how the daily routine went in the watchtower co-workers aiding each other and abiding orders from Perry. The only difference was this type of work didn't involve him getting tossed through buildings he knew some would disagree he remembered Diana telling him 'Kal I enjoy my duties as an ambassador but I prefer to face a fierce enemy than sitting behind a desk coming up with a peace treaty speech.'

There were at times that he forgot she was a warrior princess even at times like this Clark even forgets that he could lift this entire building without trying. The reporter rose his focused eyes away from his laptop staring through the wall with his x-ray vision granting him clear sight of his fiance he never unsterstood how a simple farm boy from Kansas had managed his around the woman who was considered a military brat. Wearing only a red dress shirt and black thigh length skirt she was absolutely gorgeous in every sense of the word he couldn't wait for his wedding day and finally seal the deal between them.

A sly grin slowly etched its way upon the female reporters lips. " I know your staring at me."

Waves of embarrassment coursed through the kryptonian his eyes widened and cheeks became instantly red from his voyeuristic action, which went against the principles that the Kents placed on him. Atempting a false cough in order to cover up what he did but knew it to late in taking it back. Lois found it cute that a man who who can go toe to toe with intergalactic beings would have a prude side.

"So..." Clark started awkwardly which only made Lois chuckle from his rebound. "What are you writing?"

"How Superman saved thousand's of pedestrians from a collapsing bridge for the millenium."

Now it was Clarks turn to chuckle. "First it was two hundred pedestrians that Superman saved from a collapsing bridge. Secondly 'for the millenium' I don't need that amount of publicity."

Lois's grin slowly morphed into a genuine smile the man was a regular boy scout if she ever saw one a man who was willing to sacrifice himself for the sake others, his selflessness is one of the many great qualities he possesed. There weren't many like him in this day and age she always wondered how a city girl managed to have a man like him, also the fact that he was one of the greatest heroes who most admired was a small plus.

Being saved on multiple occasions and asking for interviews became somewhat of an unintentional routine with them both but the near death falls she had were well worth it. Pressing down on her keyboard she erased the papers headline out of Clarks respect irt showed how much he truly cared about being the hero not an attention seeker looking for autographs signings. Lois was glad that the people of Metropolis hadn't turned on Superman now with Luthor in the drivers seat of peoples perception of the Justice League, knowing Lex all he truly wanted was god hood and he would do anything to get it sadly not many could see through his smoke and mirrors. Lois suddenly felt a light hand on her shoulder causing a noticeable jump in her body language.

"You okay?" The female reporter shifted her head upward staring directly at Clark who was standing at his full height, the eyes behind his glasses held some concern.

Lois waved her in dismissal "Yeah just a little tired from late work. I could use some coffee though."

"Sure. Decaf as usual?"

"Seems like this marriage will go well for the both of us."

Clark laughed at her typical witful banter walking towards the coffee table he prepared the darkliquid beverage luckily it was still warm inside the coffee maker, no mattered how hard he tried Clark couldn't the idea marriage out his mind. Involving Lois in his full life was a huge risk protecting her was difficult enough now worrying about if his enemies would discover who he truly was would place her in even more danger, eveyone in the league knew this using those you loved against you it was a traditional strategy that he dealt with mostly.

But at the moment all that mattered was becoming a good husband and making sure that she was safe, his responsibilities had increased but of corse he would bear it. Out of the corner of his eye Clark noticed Jimmy having a man to man conversation with Perry possibly discussing his job promotion an admirable smile tugged at the kryptonian lips glad the red haired male was moving forward in his life, Clark didn't want to eavesdrop on their talk out of respect for Jimmy he was a constant reminder of what his reason for being a hero was.

"Hey."A low based voice caught Clarks ear frowning in confusion he turned towards the direction of the voice he suddenly noticed a janitor standing in the far away corner his height almost measured Clark's he was a head shorter from what the kryptonian could tell, the only problem was that he wore a cap which obscured his eyes. The reporter cautiossly made his way to the inconspicuous figure who turned around the cornered wall allowing the two men out of sight from who could be watching.

"Uh...can I help you?" Clark sensed a familiar feeling of uncomfortability with this man, the mysterious person rose the cap away from revealing a set of glaring blue eyes and a stoic facial expression.

"Bruce?" Clark quietly stated indeed 'Gothams eligible bachelor' was in disguise obviously this wasn't a social visit clearly he wnted to discuss this in private and expose himself in front of the employees.

"You don't look surprised as much as you sound." He noted due to the kryptonians lack of shock on his face.

The reporter smirked. "After countless times you've startled me I've gotten numb to it."

Ignoring the subtle insult Bruce decided to get to the point. "I came here for the updates from last meeting ."

"With Luthor preparing for his speech at the UN we'll have Diana speaking on our behalf." Bruce absorbed the information that was given but what he really wanted was more intel on their captured prisoner. "Hopefully she can set things in order and the registration law will be far behind us."

"For all of are sakes lets hope this is the best move." Bruce assured but he didn't want to place an large amount of expectations when the tiime came, the unexpected usually occur from his experience though he had 'faith' in Diana's diplomatic skills.

"On a side note hows our other problem being handled?" Bruce asked wanting to get too the second main reason for being in the Daily Planet.

Clark rubbed the back of his head in uncertainty not sure how his friend could deal with it Bruce never liked being kept out of the loop of anything whether it be with problems in Gotham or with league business. He had every right to know of the happening with the happenings of the Justice League he was a founder after all and a one of the 'big three' as they were labelled but ever since he secretly created the contingency plan to place them under wraps Clark felt a little cautious about giving Bruce anything that the league knew.

His distrustful nature has become very problematic for team dynamics which was gives the league it powerful foundation but due to his paranoia Bruce made it incredibly difficult to collaborate with he always wondered how Nightwing and Robin dealt with him when they being trained. Bruce stared intently at Clark awaiting his answer but all that came was silence suspicion flooded Bruces minded but the conclusion came as quick as a thrown batarang.

His face scrunched into a deep scowl. "You didn't."

"Yes we did." Clark challenged back. "That's what we do Bruce we aid those who can't aid themselves."

Bruce bit his anger down the two men stared down each other hoping for the other to break but both men knew each other well Clarks idealistic ways were respectable but at times Bruce thought they made him naive. Even when Supergirl first arrived on earth he revealed who he was without completely knowing that Kara was his blood relative, when Darkseid took control it nearly costed her and him their lives theres no telling that this mans place here can put them at unnecessary risk.

And to think they would give him a...

"Are you sure that it was the right choice?"Bruce inquired wanting his full word.

Clark nodded. "Yes I'm sure J'onn did." Hearing that the martian had a large part in the vote surprised Bruce it made sense in many cases he was the only one who was aiding his recuperation.

"Hows Lois?" Clarks mouth twitched in irritation he knew Bruce was trying to deflect from the conversation.

"She doing well for herself." He indulged turning his head in order to see the brunette tapping her finger impatiently on her desk with an irritated frown obviously wondering what was taking him so long. "Listen Bruce we can finish this another time, try an give Diana my regar..."

Clark turned his attention back to Bruce discovering that he left without a trace all the kryptonian could do was blink in astonishment how his long time friend always managed to sneak his way past his powerful hearing. Though they did pick on the sound of jet fire from the roof looking straight up Clark already had an idea that he arrived here on the batwing using X-ray vision would be pointless knowing Bruce he probably lined with led, probably for hiding more of his personal secrets.

Clark rubbed his slick back hair wondering if he and the others made the right decision perhaps Bruce was right but then again he couldn't be one can only say for certain as time goes on. Sighing a short winded breath the kryptonian decide it was best that he gave Lois her coffee and get back to work lowering his head Clark noticed that the steam from the cup had cleared showing the beverage had cooled down. His eyes glowed bright allowing a small wave of heat to bring the coffee back at its original temperature as steam slowly rose in the air, smiling in satisfaction he headed back to Lois preparing for the bombardment of reasons for why a man who is faster than speeding bullet would take seven minutes to have her coffee ready.

Watchtower

Logan stared intently at the bathroom mirror leaning down with his palms firmly gripping the basin his reflection staring right back at him with equal intent, the different thing is that his face and body was finally cleaned of all the blood and his uniform that was once tattered is wearable. It didn't really matter the blood might as well still be there Logan knew he couldn't change that fact he slaughtered his teammates and he has to live with it for centuries on end out of all the memories that dwelled he truly wished that this was just another false implant but it's not...it was real.

His intent stare became one of pure hatred the mirror reflecting his very actions rage directed at himself he really didn't know why he helped the those people out in the first place he was no hero just a killer Kara should've just left him alone. Cyclops always said that he was a lose cannon to the X-men that he would place the protocols that they established out of the window it turned out he was right.

These people don't have an exact clue of who or what he is but they went out on a limb to try nurse him back to his feet Logan couldn't tell if it was helpful or stupid either way he was in this place with another group of people who considered themselves heroes. When J'onn came to him with offer he just knew what would come from his mouth it was the situation in Canada and with Charles it was practically laid out on the table in front of him.

'This is really not how I wanted to spend my day before my late night opening.' Zatanna complained internally she nervously looked between both j'onn and the blood smeared man who sat without any uncooperative action.

J'onn called the sorceress into the therapy room for a favor of course she obeyed his request meeting him inside the meeting room what she didn't expect was the sight of the man who was meant to be their said prisoner who was currently sitting in the seat of the main seven. A place where man of the reserved members would love to be once they decide on a chairmen, and if she didn't know better Zatanna could've sworn that was Batman's seat that he was sitting in.

"Emustoc raiper!" Exclaiming the enchantment the homo magi placed her hands over the mans head small lights of energy spread itself all of over his body the blood began to slowly disappear and the uniform started to repair itself slowly along with his mask.

"Thank you Zatanna that will be all." J'onn assured, she nodded and left being as how she needed to prepare for magic show at the Gotham theater not to mention the smell of blood was making her nauseous.

As the door closed J'onn turned his attention towards Logan who was in the same position from when both of them first talked in the interrogation room his head casted down and arms resting on his thighs he didn't seem to notice that his costume had been restored in its perfect condition. When he got a glimpse of his mind his costume seemed to resembled Superman and Batman's though this one had a more modern design minus the bottom wear Flash always said 'how a pair of underwear can make two of the most honored men look surprisingly comical.' This current one lacked it that was obvious which made him immune towards the scarlet speedsters quirks.

"I coulda killed you." Logan sudden words broke the martian from his silent thoughts what happened in engine room was still weighing in air around them.

"But you didn't." J'onn didn't want the man to feel anymore shame that was already crushing him. "There's no need for you to place more blame on yourself."

"Why am I here?" Logan questioned somewhat forcefully he didn't want to hear anymore pointless lies about how he can't place the responsibility of what he had done.

"Yes well..." J'onn sighed knowing that it would be best to get the point. "When you aided our efforts against the attack yesterday we've been thinking that our numbers in the league could be increased." J'onn noticed Logan's shoulders tensed at what he said possibly predicting the outcome of what would come next, the martian didn't have to read his mind in order to know what was going on in his mind.

"Wolverine would you consider becoming a member of the Justice League."

Logan instantly snapped his head up finally staring eye to eye with the green alien the intensity room grew even more J'onn felt the anticipation in his veins awaiting his answer which would decide his fate. The feral mutant clenched his fists thoughts of what he should do grasped his entire being making the right decision was crucial it would impact the path of his life join another team of super powered individuals or rot in his sorrow without a beer the answer was obvious opening his lips Logan gave the martian his final word.

The X-men would hate him for this joining a separate battalion of heroes after killing them to think he had the nerve the right to switch just like that it made Logan cringe on the inside at how quickly he gave J'onn his answer without so much as a hesitation. Was Kara really the reason he joined, Logan shook his head realizing he was putting all of his problems on the kid she didn't deserve that type of pressure especially from him reaching from the rear of his head pulling the mask down completely covering Logan's face the Wolverine had returned but not in a way that he intended could he really be the person he once was the best there is what he does.

The title didn't seem as enthralling from before it didn't matter to him anymore the best thing that he was good at was impaling people it wasn't something he should take pride in, placing his hand on his heart which had the 'X' embroiled on it. The symbol had no place here which was probably symbolic of himself he didn't know if this earth followed the same rules as his and he had no choice but to adapt to this new place. Knowing that thinking about his problems in the bathroom won't solve anything Wolverine walked out of the stall with a clear grimace only to find him face to face with J'onn Jonnz.

"I've just relayed a telepathic message for all of the league to know of your indoctrination I know you didn't want a prolonged ceremony." Logan would've laughed if the opportunity called for it.

The mutant grunted. "You knew right."

"Since you are now an official member I should show you the in and outs of the base without any worry of you sabotaging our headquarters." Martian Manhunter kindly offered waving his arm outwardly as if showing him a new path in life sort to speak or it could that Logan was thinking to deeply about it.

J'onn like before took the lead while Wolverine followed closely behind both men walked in a slow pace allowing Wolverine to absorb everything he saw this tour that the green alien was presenting to the mutant was pure act of trust when he brought up the situation of their headquarters since it was infiltrated and almost destroyed from another group that he knew would have no choice but to deal with at some point with this new 'career' that he was now apart of.

Wolverine was shown various rooms such as the hanger bay, the training area, monitor womb, the cafeteria etc as they walked many heroes passed by them they all stared directly at the yellow cladded man all who gave him unsure eyes Logan wasn't offended they did just him laid sprawled on a medical table covered in blood he could practically smell the fear. And since they now know that he had become the new guy they would have to put up with him.

J'onn had now gotten full view of Wolverine by the lack of a better word he was not very tall the earth term would be stocky as human say many male and female members outclassed him where height was concerned. J'onn doubted that it would bother the man in anyway all of them were out of the ordinary to say the least, reaching their final destination Wolverine and Martian Manhunter stopped in the central control center only two of them housed it giving both men some privacy.

"This is where you will be assigned missions my job is to coordinate the teams best suited for the situations that occur." All details of the Watchtower weren't presented to him fully but J'onn in time he'll come to learn every single area within. "Do you have any questions?"

"Ya have any beer in the cafeteria?" The blunt question made J'onn chuckle though his he couldn't tell if .

"I'm afraid not. But perhaps some we'll be at the wedding."

That instanly struck Wolverine curiosity but he decided to hold back on voicing anything about it J'onn pressed a series keys imput a command that displayed a world map on the enormous monitor. Various countries from regions of the world were laid out with red markers indicating disasters that were happening across the world a number of small screens appeared showing a monopoly of heroes that were dispatched to handle the crisis that were occurring everywhere.

Wolverine was impressed by the way J'onn organized the Justice Leagues missions with danger happening around the planet dividing everyone into small teams was a smart way for a squad to be sanctioned off in locations that couldn't be protected, he gad to admit that it was more was more organized then the Avengers mission handling. Suddenly a red alarm flashed on the key console indicating a warning J'onn immediately pressed the key activating a small video feed to appear on the screen showing a overhead view of a burning forest from a camera shot but the biggest eye catcher is the enormous machine trekking through the incinerating trees.

"We're now live some sort of robot is causing forest fires and is now on its way towards the village." The broadcaster was indeed right the machine was heading in the direction of an area where a small village was becoming an obvious target. Themachine halted its walking and in a split second directed its attention at the helicopter while aiming it flame thrower barrel shooting a wave fire at the hovering vehicle causing static on the monitors end.

J'onn activated the com link in his ear "Shayera I need you to assemble a team."

"Tell me where and we'll get it done." The Thanagarian responded knowing that an alert was calling for them.

"The South American forest in Brazil."

"Got it." The communication went dead as J'onn left Shayera to get a team together her military experience would make a perfect selection for a mission like this a rescue crew and a combat squad would be suitable. J'onn secretly looked at Wolverine from his peripheral vision the martian didn't know if he was ready too go out into the field again but with his abilities the success of the assignment would increase.

"This would be a great opportunity for you to know your comrades." J'onn tried to reason with the feral mutant knowing he wouldn't have high levels of trust for anyone condering Logan didn't know anyone here perhaps 'comrades' wouldn't be the right word, he didn't know if he even trusted him that well. "We have the best scientific minds in time we can figure out a way to return to your time."The green martian assured.

The feral mutant felt uneasy sense confliction. "Don't know if I even have a home to go back too."

Guilt swelled in J'onns stomach turning to convince him that isn't true but he was already walking out of the control room to the hangar bay leaving J'onn alone by himself bringing his fingers towards his ear he activated his comm link. "Shayera there will be one more joining you shortly."

Wolverine proceeded down the hangar deep in his own thoughts he didn't know what to think now being part of an army of people who were cape enthusiast he didn't even have time to collect himself. But that was his life going through war after war was a never ending path for him and here was again going back in it having nothing to fight for the feral mutant didn't have much of a purpose anymore, it was all still in the mansion where it would remain Wolverines rage for himself began to build it took every amount of restraint to keep the growl that wanted escape from his throat.

A familiar scent filled his nose Logan realized that he was near the hangar a fighter jet that was well parked along side rows of others his eyes widened slightly when catching the sight of five people. One of them was was a tanned skinned woman with green hair that matched her crop top, pants and gloves another woman who had red hair she didn't wear much of a costume but what made her unique was two pair of wings on her back the last three here he recognized was the man in a tight red suit with the lightning insignia on his chest and the man from earliar whom dressed in a full silver colored uniform with an atom symbol in the center. The most recognized person who stood near them was the blonde girl .

The bubbly teen beamed at the man once she saw him the kryptonian rushed in half flight speed towards him wrapping her arms around his neck capturing him in a hug the feral mutant barely had time to register what was coming at him the force from Kara strength nearly knocked Logan off his feet. Surprise etched itself across his face he thinking that she would be upset for leaving her alone in the medical room knowing she had alot of power to toss every ounce of his body through a wall Logan knew how emotional teenagers are but he wouldn't blame her for it. Tentatively wrapping his own arms around her back Wolverine reciprocated the gesture.

Pulling back Supergirl got a good look at Logan he looked like he just took a fresh shower. "I heard J'onns message I can't believe your an official member."

"Believe it kid." Supergirl was glad to see him smile and since she was the influence made her proud of herself even more. "Looks like yer gonna be givin' me more trouble than its worth huh."The mutant rubbed her hair tangling a few strands.

"Well when you put it that way then I must be doing my job right." She remarked while fixing her hair the two headed for the interstellar craft getting to Brazil was top priority wasting time was placing people in danger.

Shayera smiled at was she was witnessing Logan seem to be getting better thanks to Kara she was a very kind person but that would be expected from Superman's cousin, she joined her companions inside their was no time for introductions they had to get a move on. The docking bay doors automatically opened granting passage for earth with that Shayera operated the controls in preparations for take off. Jet stream fire blasted out from the rear propeling the craft in a mach speed pace for their destination.

Fire, Capton Atom, Flash, and Shayera were disussing basic battle strategies...well except Flash he just looked as if he went along with whatever plan Shayera had Supergirl sat in the back watching the three go over what had to be done. She sighed placing her elbow on the arm rest and chin in her hand feeling like a third wheel Kara knew that she didn't wouldn't contribute much to much to the conversation being as how she was the youngest second to Stargirl. They were probably thinking a little girl like her couldn't come up with a plan to save the world it ticked her off how the Justice League viewed her like this, she fought Darkseid by herself for crying out loud so why did everyone think so little of her.

Kara casted the those thoughts away she had to have her mind focused on the mission not wanting to be the reason why they couldn't succeed it will give Clark another reason to look down on her. Well at least one didn't turning her head Logan sat quietly not at all engaging in the conversation with the others he just stared out of the window Kara assumed he might feel out of place with them he'll just need time.

"All right everyone battle positions!" Supergirl was knocked out of her daydreaming from Shayeras commanding voice the cockpit opened up the Thanigarian activated the jets auto pilot as everyone hastily got up from their seats Beatriz body lit up jade colored flames she grabbed the scarlet speedster under his arm pits flying him down to ground level, Shayera flared her wings and flew after Flash and Fire Captom Atom followed on suit.

Kara stood on the slanted platform staring down at the searing flames that engulfed the forest it slightly overwhelmed her.

"You ready." Startle once again looked behind her Wolverine stood clearly ready for what was to come she sighed calming her nerves down she smiled and nodded levitating off of the metal board she lifted her new teammate the same way Fire did with Flash soaring downward toward the fire. Reaching the ground the scent of seared animal and human flesh filled Wolverines senses he resisted the urge to crinkle his nose in disgust.

Shayera observed her surroundings the walls of fire the most obvious to see but also the reason it was caused a flaming skull headed machine wasn't to difficult to pin point the village was in its sights they had to act quickly.

"Fire, Supergirl, and Capton Atom you three hold it off while the rest of us evacuate the people." Shayera ordered half of the three flew for gigantic robot, while the other half veered for the village.

Armored tanks surrounded the robotic monster firing massive rounds at it unfortunately the armor was dense and impenetrable making the military force seemed pathetic in caparison to the flame fueled machine. All it did was press on forward trampling any tank that was beneath explosions ravaged the ground and soldiers struggled for cover in trenches, the mechanised monster just kept pressing for the village...suddenly it was being its whole body frame was slowly being tilted towards its right direction hitting the stone ground below. The soldiers look of surprise was placed upwards as three individual descended from the sky.

"All of you pull back we'll take of this!" Fire exclaimed in her native language they hesitantly obeyed not knowing if it would be a good to take order from someone who wasn't a commanding officer but with the situation at hand it wouldn't be smart ignore her. The soldiers withdrew back away from the three heroes but the machine regained its footing. "And as for you. GET THE HELL OUT OF MY COUNTRY!" Roaring with anger the Brazilian woman raised her shooting a burst of emerald flame from her palms, Captain Atom followed on by releasing a blast of radiation out of his hands , and Supergirl released a ray of heat vision out from her eyes placing the machine in a stalemate position.

Flash sped through rows of houses collecting as many people he could hold while simultaneously taking out the fire Shayera managed to fly the others out of chared debris setting down occupants away from the battle.

"Is that everybody?" She asked as the scarlet speedster zipped in next to her.

"Almost." Flash pointed backwards with his thumb revealing one more house that required sweeping. "We got the new guy taking care of it."

The Thanagarian expression twisted itself in annoyance wishing Flash would show some tact referring to their new teammate as the 'new guy' seemed strange as if it was his first day on the job, technically it wasn't since he had an experience with another team. But he was on a new team so Flash wasn't far off with his comment.

"Do you think it was the right choice?" Wally's words made the red haired woman look at him with a raised eyebrow. "Placing him in the league I mean."

Shayera face shifted to a look of genuine thought. "We can't say much but all we can do is see what happens, besides it was J'onns call." Trusting the martians intuition had never failed them before.

"I guess your right maybe I have Batman paranoia syndrome." Shayera smiled at that Flashes childish jokes always made some pressure lift itself from her shoulders.

Wolverine rammed his his blue boot at the weak wooden door knocking it off its hinges he bolted in flaring his nostrils in hope of finding any occupants but the smoke and fumes made it difficult to pinpoint any trace of a scent. Narrowing his eyes in concentration he managed to find one alive and two dead ignoring the guilt the mutant pressed forward seeing a large piece of a roof which had collapsed from the ceiling. Digging his finger tips underneath Wolverine lifted it with ease and tossed it in the corner his eyes fell upon a man and a woman that had a little boy beneath them.

He frowned knowing the two adults died protecting their child leaning down Wolverine picked the unconscious boy up in his arms, looking down at his deceased family he felt a sense admiration they did something he couldn't protecting your loved ones. His ears suddenly picked up something steaming instantly knowing what it was Wolverine ran straight for the entrance trying to get proper distance wasn't enough as the flame came into contact with the gas line resulting in an explosion.

"Flash help him!" Shayera barked worried for their teammates safety he just joined and she'd be damned if he was going to have a funeral, Flash almost sped up to the scattered wood and flame but stopped his movement when someone emerging out. Wolverine came to a stop when reached the other survivors his back and shoulders were lit which startled both leaguers.

The mutant placed the sleeping boy on the ground gently. "He needs a medic." He informed the winged woman she only nodded trying to keep her head in the game instead of on his burning back. "You two go and help the others I'll catch up in a bit."

Shayera was beginning to feel a little surprised that he was giving an order despite her being the commander she nodded and spread her wings flying in the direction where giant thooms were thundering meters away Flash of course did the same and followed. Wolverine stared down at the child he hoped he learned enough from Beasts medical training placing his against his chest.

Supergirl rushed at the robots chest pounding away with every ounce of power she had in her fist causing the robot to stagger backwards she clenched her teeth hard hoping to at least place a dent within the armor. Rearing its barreled arm back bringing it forward with force it made contact with the kryptonian entire body rocketed across the forest plummeting in the ground creating a crater upon landing blowing away of crowd of trees.

Fire showered it with more flames circling herself around the robot trying to burn a weak point swinging itself in a ninety degree angle Beatriz eye widened in horror seeing the large arm coming at her, suddenly Captain Atom appeared between the two he grabbed her taking the brunt of the blow which flew them miles. Luckily the former Air force officer landed flat on his back scraping through the stone ground.

"This isn't going well." Fire groaned trying her best to ignore the throbbing headache she was having.

Getting to their feet they saw the mechanized behemoth continued on for the village. "I might have an idea." Captain Atom brought up staring intently at their enemy.

"Then lets hear it." A voice from above spoke out Shayera and Supergirl landed near her teammates along with Flash who just blitzed in a force of habit that many knew he had.

"it's emanating large amounts of energy, probably from a power core inside. If I absorb it could lead to an opening." Captain Atoms strategy seemed full proof but that could only be proven if it was pulled off.

Flash nodded. "We'll provide a distraction."

Everyone signed off to their duties knowing what had to be done Supergirl on the other hand was the only one who was being slightly distracted of course she noticed a certain someone who was missing from the group. She looked towards the village using her x-ray vision in hopes of finding Logan but sadly he wasn't their, worry crept within her which happen a lot when he was involved what is it about him that that always made her feel anxious.

"He said he'll here." Startled by the sudden voice she looked ahead to see Shayera staring back at her with a reassuring smile knowing what was on the young girls mind. Kara smiled back she knew the man wouldn't let them down.

Fire started off by a stream of flame at it chest which again stopped it in its tracks, Shayera rose her Nth metal mace it shined with magical energy with a war cry she rammed the weapon at the pectoral section, Flash zoomed in circumference creating a miniature whirlwind surrounding the machine, Supergirl dashed at the core of the abdomen finally putting a hole in it Shayera noticed she wished the girl wasn't so reckless they needed the robot distracted not destroyed...well nort yet anyway.

Captain Atom flew into position atop and away from the action he the nuclear fused man extended his hands draining the energy from the head into his palms his face strained due to the amount of power that was stored but he had to bare with it. Wolverine ran and vaulted over through the collapsed trees trying to get to the ensuing fight he didn't need heightened senses to smell and hear what was going on for eighteen miles he caught sight of the towering machine it was the same exact size of a sentinel though it seemed more tougher than what they are but his 'teammates' were holding their own against it.

Which Wolverine was thankful for the Justice League weren't pushovers after all the mutant noticed the silver colored man attempting to absorb whatever power the machine had while the others just fought. Wolverine figured out that it was diversionary tactic it was working but the robot was fighting back against the others he knew he had to pitch in now fighting giant robots was nothing new to him.

The feral mutant barred his fangs. "Different world doesn't mean it can't be ripped to shreds like the rest."

He clenched his fist in order to relinquish his claws...but something stopped him a feeling from within prevented the feral mutant from unleashing it was overwhelming him to the point where Wolverine lost his focus he tried to ignore but it was too much. He paid the price for it as Shayera came crashing down at high speeds spreading her wings and flapped them rapidly to decrease her descent she came into contact with Wolverine chest he wrapped his arms around her midsection to catch her but on like last time he was thrown off his feet his back skidding across the ground he suppressed a groan as he felt some of his flesh being scraped though with in a second it knitted itself back together.

"You ok?" He asked the red haired woman who was laying on top of him she turned her head and looked behind at the man who caught her from falling to her death the Thanagarian look of relief indicated the answer Wolverine wanted.

"Uh, yeah I'm fine." She got up brushing the dirt off of her pants or maybe the embarrassment that she felt from being saved. "We need buy more time for Captain Atom."

Wolverine eyes were trained at the obvious hole at the stomach region. "Take me up there."

Shayera was taken aback by his blunt demand. "But we have a plan."

"So do I." Wolverine stared directly at her in the eye Shayera saw that he wasn't in the mood for arguing normally Shayera wouldn't back down but something about his hardened eyes made her silent the only person who was capable of that was John. Complying she took him from beneath his arms and took off she didn't expect him to be so heavy but she soldierd through it they eventually reached a high enough altitude Wolverine saw his opportunity.

"Okay drop me!" He shouted which caught the winged woman by surprise.

"What?!" Shayera looked at Wolverine as if he were a madman.

"Just do it!"

Shayera bit her lip in hesitant on the request not wanting to responsible for hurting her colleagues again Wolverine gave her impatient look there was no time for waiting the Thanagarian released the mutant from her hold allowing Wolverine to free fall. The feeling of doubt came back he was sure that was the emotion it was something he wasn't used to he was sure a bit of...'fear?' Clenching his eyes shut tightly he tried to fight back the emotion balling his fists Wolverine concentrated hard a 'snikt' was heard his admantium claws were out he landed inside of the confines of the machine. Wolverine suspicions were right there was power core inside it was a metalic sphere plastered with yellow cylinders supplying power to it he didn't know the in and outs Logan knew the simplest way of shutting it down.

Ripping it to pieces.

Wolverine slashed wildly at the power core tearing it to shreds with each swing he growled like an restrained animal trying to hold back its pure anger, Captain Atom continued to his absorption hoping he could store all of this power without blowing everything to high heaven. The flame the sprouted from the head ceased the nucleared fused man released a breath he didn't know he was holding, now it was their chance.

"Take it out now!" He yelled to the others Supergirl nodded knowing it was her cue flying forward in a red and blue blur rearing her fist back she screamed while flying in an upward arc with everything she had her fist connected with the chin of the robot delivering an uppercut. The head flung off the machines shoulder landing in the dirt creating a massive sized crater the body soon followed after slowly heading to the ground an echoing boom exploded through out the area. Fire, Flash, Captain Atom, Supergirl, and Shayera gathered around it making sure it was decommissioned.

Flash gave it a light kick just to make sure it was down for good."Well that takes care of that." A satisfied grin came to his mouth and he triumphantly placed his hands on his hips.

Cheers rang from the villagers and soldiers along with the heroes except Shayera who was silent she staring directly at the dismantled machine Flash noticed this wondering what was making her silent she mostly hound him for pulling off a stupid stunt and running in circles around a story robot was pretty stupid. He trailed her focus on the machine and saw that Thanagarian was mainly looking at Supergirl.

The female kryptonian saw what Logan did which appeared to be a suicide move by her standards Kara flew over to the abdomen and was about to pull the metal off in order to get him out there. Two pair of three claws jutted out causing Supergirl to float back in shock they separated from each other and formed into a square, the metal was tossed up in the air from a foot that was raised out the four angle shaped hole. Wolverine walked out of the destroyed enemy in a limp he sheathed his claws for some reason he felt glad they were back inside the league came to aid their new teammate but when they saw him made their all of their stomachs churn.

His body had small metal shards imbedded in his lower sides possibly puncturing his liver other were in his thigh muscles as well in his bicep and triceps but the biggest wound was on his face pieces of his skin from his right were completely missing revealing a metal sphenozygomatic structure. The wound however closed itself as muscle now covered the metallic alloy along with fresh new skin Supergirl ran up to Logan she was caught of guard by his healing ability but it wasn't something she hadn't seen before...well nothing like that anyway.

"It's ok kid." She stopped her eyes widening in surprise at his refusal for aid she didn't stop however and coiled her arms around his neck again capturing in another hug. This time Wolverine wasn't slow in his response. "It's ok."

The others just looked on with confusion Shayera was surprised by Kara action they must've really known each other for her to break out and hug but none the less she was thankful that he was alright. Unknown to the everyone they didn't notice the dismay on Wolverines face his hands were the first thing his mind was focused on he had to maintain his nerves to keep himself from trembling from what he did. 'It's ok' he said he knew that he was lying to himself.

Watchtower: Central control room

J'onn watched the news feed on the monitors the military sweeping the area of the battle and getting the injured medical treatment another job well done he would say he smiled lightly Logans first mission with them went well all things considered the man should be proud of himself. He knew making him member was the right decision.

"I hope you have a good reason for your immediate announcement yesterday." The smile on J'onns face faded reverting it back to its neutral expression he turned himself around to found himself face to face with Batman who was glaring holes at him.

The martian didn't falter in his response. "I do but if weren't up to me you know Superman would have taken my place instead."

The dark knights stood with silence J'onn was right Superman wouldn't just let an 'act of good will' go unchecked to Batman this was a foolish decision he never understood why the league trusted so easily this is bound to have a consequence and he knew it. All that mattered is that he prepared for it.

"If he steps out of line I'm taking him down." Batman said with finality the tone in his voice even made J'onns spine run cold he knew that once the caped crusader settled on a course of action he wouldn't be deterred from it.

J'onn didn't get a chance to have his say as Batman took his leave towards the door he was leaving Gotham unprotected because of their new arrival when the unexpected happens he would strike. Reaching the door the detective stopped himself in his tracks in front of him was the source of his worries, he stared down at the shorter man while the former stared up equally with intense eye contact. Batman's breath hitched in his throat though he willed himself not to show any signs of discomfort the familiar feeling came back he couldn't place what it was but it was irritating him.

Ignoring it he walked out of Wolverines path with cold indifference and headed to the teleporters the feral mutant looked over his shoulder at the figure who was walking in the opposite direction he didn't know what to make of the situation. He heard the man hold his breath but couldn't get a scent on what pheromones secreted due to him just silently strutting out of the door he'll give him credit for holding his ground, Wolverine returned his attention on the green alien now walking full into the room and placing the ordeal in the back of his mind something told him that he was going to see that pointy eared masked man again.

"Your field assignment was a success congratulations ." Matrian Manhunter praised his costume was torn again but nothing major like before. he was glad that the man was moving forward.

Wolverine however decided to cut to the chase. "Yer gonna have ta' take me off combat missions."

J'onn blinked in surprise.

"I can't do it anymore."

J'onn didn't quite understand his vague explanation was he considering about resigning from the league after one mission with them. He could easily read his mind and the answer he was tempted to do it but out of respect he refrained himself from doing it.

"Are you...?" He inquired unsure of what his answer would be.

"No." Wolverine responded knowing what he wanted to say making J'onn feel at ease. "Can ya' switch a members act of duty that doesn't deal in handlin' combat assignments."

J'onn nodded.

"I need to be on rescue mission from now on." Martian Manhunter finally understood what he wanted he was still grieving over what happened.

"Your request is granted, but may I ask why?"

Wolverine raised hands staring deeply at his blue colored palms. "I will never hurt anyone else ever again."

Wolverine turned heel without so much as a goodbye he wasn't give J'onn the details he knew figure his reason for doing this, he would never use his claws on another living soul just the sight metal blades sickened him. He suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder stopping him he sighed in annoyance not wanting to go over this he didn't want to talk about how he could lose himself in his animalistic state and easily end anyone life. He turned seeing J'onn holding out his hand that seemed to have a small metal device inside Logan took it looking at it he had a guess as to what it was.

"Since you are a full time member it important to have communicator with you."

Wolverine looked up at J'onn he smiled at slightly at the man who had been accepting of him.

'Just like Chuck'

"Thanks bub." Wolverine walked to the door leaving J'onn to return to his coordination work he wouldn't kill anyone ever again he was glad for once he could find some sense calming he was afaid of what might happed if he was engaed in combat again. He was always known as the best their is at what he did...well the best he could do now is not another innocence life.

Next chapter: Wedding bells

Jesus finally got this out of the way I apologize for not holding up on my promises but here it is, I think my writing slipped a lot here.

Positives and negatives are always welcome.

On a side note I've been thinking about writing a Devil may cry/Justice league story or a Batman Beyond story, write in the review box to decide which one you want to see me write.

If anyone noticed this chapter was a homage to the first episode of Justice League Unlimited.
