Hey, I know it's been a while, I mean 4 months and no new chapter, what a hiatus. Sorry for the wait.
"Yes Renton darling." Eureka replied to her loving husband.
The young couple has been living in the town of MoonLake for quite a while in peace. It was a small town, about half the size of Bellforest. Refugees that lost their homes in the Second Summer of Love had flooded into the city, which was created near the Johansson Mountain Range. The city was created by the Reformed Federation Army to accommodate the amount of refugees that needed new homes. The city was still under development, but it is halfway in development.
The two posed as refugees and moved to the city to start a new life together. They wanted to bring the kids along, but they first needed to be able to sustain themselves. Renton and Eureka had started a small Lift/Ref shop and rental.
The shop originally just sold lift boards and related goods. But over time the town got bigger, and the shop sold food, clothes and other items necessary for life. Over the year the town became a small city, and in the year. it's development was almost complete by the government.
While the shop was in the city by the mountains, their home was near the outskirts of the city. It was a quiet neighborhood, as there were only a few houses around. The outskirts were also closer to the forest, and the lake for which the city was named after. It was a peaceful life.
"Eureka, they say tonight's going to be a full moon; wanna go have a midnight drink under it?" Renton asked his wife.
"Oh that would be wonderful Renton," she replied. "It's 7:30 pm now, should we enjoy a light dinner before we go? We have quite a bit of time."
The young couple ate a peaceful dinner, something they had enjoyed since they had saved the world. The two were cleaning up when they heard a knock on the door. Renton opened the door. It was a boy looking about 12 years of age, with long black hair with golden eyes, in tattered rags.
"Um… hi Mr. Thurston, do you have any scraps I could have?" The boy asked.
"Adam, I told you before, Mr. Thurston is what they called my father. Call me Renton. And why scraps, why don't you join us for dinner, I'm sure Eureka made enough for an extra person," Renton said, and winked to his wife.
Eureka and Renton were enjoying the food and having fun, but this was Adam's first time eating with the Thurston family, and he wasn't touching his food.
"Adam, what's wrong, you said you were starving, but you haven't touched your food, is something wrong?" Eureka asked.
"I've never had people to help me until you guys came along," Adam said, " Thanks Mr. and Ms. Thurston."
He started to cry, to which Renton got up and put his hand on his shoulder. Adam stopped crying, and Renton said, "Adam, if you want, you can stay with us, and be a part of our family."
Adams eyes grew wide, and then he started to cry again. "Thank you, thank you," is all he could say.
A few hours had passed.
"Renton, your such a nice man," Eureka said.
"Nah, I was just tired of him living in the streets, when he could had a family."
"He's fallen to sleep on our bed, and it's almost midnight, do you still wanna go have that drink, Renton?"
"Yeah, I'll leave a note though, just in case Adam wakes up."
The two took a bottle of wine, two wine glasses, and a blanket for their midnight drink. As they were leaving the house, they heard a loud noise, as though a ship was landing. Then they saw the Gekko, landing near the lake, as the town didn't have a landing strip.
"The gang has some of the worst timing," Renton sighed. Eureka smiled at him, and they headed up to the lake.
