September 8, 2014 – 7:55 Townsville High Cafeteria

Boomer had dreaded Monday ever since Brick left his house Saturday morning. Brick had been trying to text him ever since; Bubbles texted him a couple times too, but it was only referring to the writing assignment due today.

Brick had yet to arrive at his usual spot at the table. Boomer didn't mind though. He had so much anger and sadness that he didn't feel like associating with anyone. He looked over at the table that The Six sat at, Bubbles caught his eye contact and waved with a smile; he ignored her despite his urges.

The bell then rang, Boomer got up as quickly as he could in his best efforts to avoid anyone from the group. Suddenly he was grabbed by he shoulder.

"Hey I need to talk to you." Brick said in a voice that sounded stressed, which was very un-Brick-like.

Boomer turned away from him, "You're the last person I feel like talking to Brick." He said as he started to walk faster.

"Look," Brick grabbed Boomer's shoulder again, "I know all you want is to beat the shit out of me, but I just want to let you know that I wasn't thinking straight Friday, at all. I shouldn't have done that and I regretted it immediately. Forgive me or not, I shouldn't have done it and I'm really sorry." Brick said as he walked away from Boomer.

10:17 a.m. Townsville High (3rd Period)

This class was what the real test for Boomer was. His goal was to completely ignore Bubbles for the entire class, which was difficult before he was even popular so now that she actually talked to him it would be practically impossible.

"Boomer!" his thoughts were interrupted by the sweet sound of Bubbles' voice. "Did you get any of my texts this weekend?" she asked with a large smile.

Yeah I did but you shattered my heart and you don't even know how you did it. God I wish I could just tell you how much that hurt me without freaking you out.

"No I didn't sorry." Boomer said while aimlessly rummaging through his backpack even though he wasn't looking for anything.

"Oh, well that's weird… Good luck with your presentation today!" Bubbles said in attempt to get Boomer's attention. He didn't respond, so she turned around.

Ms. Handrick then started class, "Now as I hope all of you remembered, we are presenting your poems today! Let's start it off Jennifer!"

Boomer's mind was hazed. He hadn't been able to pay attention to anything all day, much less poems about other peoples' problems. Why did Brick have to do that? Everything was going so well, guaranteed I was barely friends with Bubbles but what he did set everything back. I obviously forgive him since he was trashed. I just want to know why she didn't stop. Boomer then noticed that Bubbles was now at the front of the classroom, it was already her turn to share her piece, which meant that Boomer was next.

She began to speak:

"All alike families are happy, there was this one

family in Townsville that was even identical.

People couldn't tell who the father was,

the mother was, the daughter was. They were all so

happy that it didn't matter who they were.

Eventually a circus bought them and charged

admission for people to see them in their

natural habitat. Spectators would come

from all across the state to see them eat

dinner together, watch the same channels together

talk to each other at length. People called them freaks

not because they were identical, but because they were

so

damn

happy"

She finished with a shaky voice and a slight glimmer in her eyes holding back possible tears. Boomer wanted to completely retract the poem he had come up with, but it was too late now. As much as he hated seeing the pain in her face, this had to be done.

Boomer got up to the front of the class, and starting speaking while looking directly at Bubbles:

"Popularity is in fact a democracy. It is a fair

and square contest. Every month, students vote,

and the kindest, most compassionate people

are always chosen to be the most popular.

Just as we always choose the best person

in the country to be president, we always pick

the most deserving people to be popular.

They in turn, humbly accept and prove to be

role models for all the rest of the students,

because their position is so much based

on worth and not at all on

looks or

cruelty"

The bell then rang dismissing the class. A look of pure confusion was on Bubbles' face and she looked incredibly offended. Boomer quickly grabbed his backpack and practically ran out the door.

"Hey!" Bubbles caught up to him, "Why were you looking at me during that? And better question, what were you implying with that exactly?" she asked in a tone that explained how much power she had.

"Well, it was basically saying that people aren't always what they appear to be. And I was looking at you because that is exactly what I think about you." Boomer explained. For the first time in his life he had actually grown some balls to defend himself.

"Then I hope you're ready to explain this because I really have no idea why you would have any reason to think that." Bubbles said with her power tone and a look of intent in her baby blue eyes.

Boomer stopped in his tracks in the hallway as the other students walked around them. "Okay, the fact that you're a low-key stoner apparently and from what I recall you are on the alcohol and drug awareness board right? Oh and also how hard you try to keep up you're incredibly pure image, but yet for some reason you made out with Brick on a whim. Now from where I stand, you look incredibly hypocritical. And you haven't really done anything to prove me otherwise." Boomer finished breathing slightly heavier than usual.

She laughed, not her genuine laugh it was almost cynical. "So I like to have fun every once in a while, I didn't think that I'd be lectured about it. Maybe me making out with Brick bothered you so much because it wasn't with you. Don't think that I haven't noticed how you look at me; I'm not as oblivious as you think I am. You know up until this point I was wondering why AnnaLeigh was so set on getting you, but now I see how truly alike you two are. And that's not a compliment." Bubbles said while walking away from Boomer.

AnnaLeigh then approached Boomer, "Booms! You and Bubbles seemed tense there, what was that all about?" she asked.

Boomer was still looking in the direction that Bubbles retreated in. "It was nothing just some creative differences. You want to get lunch later? My treat." Boomer asked while stifling a smile.

AnnaLeigh's smile grew, as did her grip on his arm, "I can't wait."

2:48 p.m. Townsville High (8th Period)

"Okay, I know that you're still really fucking pissed at me, but why did you think that was a good idea?" Brick asked in pure shock of the scenario Boomer just explained.

"Yeah I mean not only does Bubbles know that you like her, but she basically called you the guy version of AnnaLeigh and that is not good. We basically just took five steps backwards." Butch said in frustration.

"I'm actually with them on this Boomer, that was an awful plan" Buttercup enforced.

"This is a problem yes, but I think all of you are ignoring a much bigger issue. From what it sounded like, she was not happy in the slightest. I think we might have a situation on our hands." Blossom said in a slightly scared voice.

"What? But it's Bubbles. She's like the nicest of the six, right? What could happen?" Boomer asked with confidence.

"Blossom might be right on this one actually. Yeah she's the nicest, but she's also the most powerful. Also, I've only seen it a couple of times, but if you piss her off she could ruin someone." Brick chimed in realizing the true problem.

"So now what do we do? Avoid Bubbles?" Buttercup asked, "I mean what could she possibly do to ruin us."

"Well to be fair Butters, Boomer is very fresh on the elite market; He could be taken off and hardly anyone would notice. What I think we should do is have Boomer stick with AnnaLeigh for a while, at least until Bubbles cools off a bit. Because if I remember Bubbles' tactics correctly, she waits until they're at their weakest point. Sorry Boomer but it has to be done, we need to prepare." Butch explained to the group.

"Prepare?" Blossom asked, "For what? We aren't going to war."

"Actually pinky, we are. So Boomer what you absolutely have to do is to make more elite friends, like strong friendships. The more elites that like you, the more difficult it will be for her to take you down." Brick explained.

"How about one of you just talks to her? That could solve a lot? Right Butch?" Buttercup motioned to Butch.

"The sound of you saying my name is magical sweet heart, but I have no other connection with Bubbles and no other reason to talk to her. Sorry babe." Butch said in a serious voice but with a sultry smile towards Buttercup who rolled her eyes at the situation.

"So Brick then, you talk to Bubbles. It's decided." Blossom said, making the final decision for the group.

"I really don't think I can get out of this one, so yeah sure I guess I can talk to her." Brick said with an annoyance in his voice.

3:33 p.m. - Townsville High Football Field

"What's this about Brick? I need to get to practice." Bubbles asked with disinterest and her hands on her hips.

Brick couldn't take it anymore. He was so upset with himself and so upset with Bubbles for letting it happen. But most of all he was angry that she would even think of passive aggressively threatening Boomer. "Oh I think you know exactly what this is about Bubbles." Brick said her name like it was venom.

Bubbles looked a little taken aback for moment, then the expression on her face turned emotionless. "What do you want to talk about our little kiss? Or are you here to insure that I won't do anything to hurt anyone?" she said in an icy tone.

"Why don't you just tell me about both?" Brick said while getting in the face of the short blonde.

"Oh now things are interesting." Bubbles said while getting in his face also, "Well I let you kiss me because you were completely belligerent and I didn't think it would cause any problems. As for Boomer, don't worry Brick I won't do anything. But he's very lucky that he has AnnaLeigh pining for him and I really don't feel like making a mess. Just keep that in mind." She said with a smile that was almost scary.

"I for one appreciate that you know better than to rock the boat over this. But Bubbs, there's no one around, you can tell me the actual reason why you let me kiss you." Brick said in his signature cocky tone.

"That's really funny Brick. Why would I open up to you exactly? You and I both know that we don't exactly like each other?" Bubbles questioned.

"Because I know that you're lying. I can play your game too, I could tell everyone what happened and maybe exaggerate a bit. Or you can just tell me why you let it happen." Brick challenged her.

Bubbles glared daggers at him and then sighed. "Fine Lancaster, I let you do it because I wanted to see Boomer would do. To be completely honest he did the exact opposite of what I expected. I was anticipating for him to act like the whole thing never happened, but instead he decided to judge me and then call me out on those judgments." She said with a hurt look on her face that quickly turned back to stone cold.

"You kind of liked him didn't you? Or were starting to at least. And you were trying to make him jealous by using me! I'm truly honored Bubbles. Congratulations though, he did get jealous, I'm just sorry that his reaction wasn't what you planned. Maybe next time though." Brick said as he walked away from the stunned Bubbles.

3:56 p.m. - Townsville High Football Field Bleachers

"I can't believe that you did that. I mean thanks for doing that aren't you worried about your own safety?" Boomer questioned Brick.

"Naw, I'm golden. She can't touch me and more importantly she doesn't scare me." Brick said with confidence, "She also has absolutely nothing on me and she hardly has a drive to even take me down, I have no concerns."

They were watching the cheerleading practice that was going on right now. Suddenly Jessica DiMarco stormed onto the field.

"Oh no." Butch said in a quiet voice but everyone in the group heard it.

"Butch, what did you do?" Buttercup asked as she looked in horror as she watched Jessica walk towards the cheerleaders.

"I might have let what happened on Friday slip during Spanish class, that I have with her…. I'm really sorry you guys!" Butch said in a panicked voice.

"Don't apologize to us, apologize to Brick and it looks like Bubbles." Blossom said as she watched the scenario unfold on the field.

Jessica had just stormed up to straight up slapped her. They were now in a full-blown cat fight on the football field.

"Now we might have a situation." Brick said with a slight shake in his voice.

Sorry this took a while and sorry that this chapter had Bubbles seem out of normal character, but I to show why Bubbles was the Queen Bee of the school! I just felt like I had her being too nice to be in such a power position. Thanks for reading!
