It was class as usual. Tsuki took her seat in Professor Stein's classroom. She was drawing yet again, like she always did. These days, she mostly drew bits and pieces of memory that pushed through. The only way she would remember was if she were to draw it quickly, before she forgot.
Patty nervously approached her. "I am sorry about yesterday, I shouldn't have opened my big mouth." Tsuki kept drawing and ignored her. "But Kid is okay. He will be here in a minute." Tsuki kept ignoring her and eventually Patty sat down at her own seat.
From inside her body, Tsuki heard a knock. It was Taiyou asking to speak with her. Tsuki stopped drawing and let Taiyou's thoughts reach her head. "If I were you, I would cut off all of your so called 'friends' from you so they won't have to hurt you."
Tsuki laughed out loud, barely making a sound compared to the chatter of everyone around her. "They were never my friends in the first place. They were just there for company." She answered back in her head.
"You are remembering some things aren't you?"
"Yep. But they get hard to remember if I don't draw them."
"I see." Taiyou was silent for a moment. "I need to rest some more. We will speak later.."
Tsuki flipped her paper over and drew an image of a boy with a rat on his shoulder. Next to that boy she drew another boy, but instead this boy held a cat. She drew a man next to them with a dog sitting at his feet. "Why am I here?" She whispered to herself. As she was drawing a fourth person, a familiar set of hands rested on her shoulders. Tsuki's eyes grew wide out of surprise. She turned around to see Kid. She scowled and returned to drawing.
"Hey, what's wrong? Are you still sore about the hospital thing?"
"Nothing is wrong." She stated calmly.
"I know something is wrong. It's easy to tell." She turned and looked at him again. "I don't have to have the ability to see souls to know when someone is hurting. Please tell me what's bugging you."
She turned around again. "You are mistaken."
"Why do you have an angered look on your face then?"
"This is my normal expression."
"Really?"
"Yes."
After school Tsuki sat on the fountain in the middle of Death City. She twirled her hair in boredom. Taiyou sat next to her. She did the same. Tsuki glanced over at her and snickered.
Taiyou turned her head and looked at Tsuki. "What?"
"I think you have been hanging around me too long. You are starting to imitate me."
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Taiyou turned up her nose and looked the other way. Tsuki studied Taiyou for a while. Her attitude seems to have changed drastically since they were first properly acquainted. At first, Taiyou seemed angry at everything all the time, but now it seemed as if she had calmed down quite a bit.
Someone called Tsuki's name and a startled Taiyou turned into a gaseous forme before forcing her way into Tsuki's body. Tsuki looked up. The one who had called her name was Black Star.
He skidded to a stop in front of her and breathed heavily. "Hey.. you can use soul force... right?" he said in between breaths.
"Yeah, why?"
"I wanted to train with you, ya know.. since you haven't chosen a partner yet. I think it would be a good idea to test your abilities." Black Star took a deep breath, then exhaled. "So what do ya say?"
Tsuki tilted her head to the left. "Perhaps..."
"Does that mean yes?"
Tsuki took off her shoes and dipped her feet in the water. "It means... perhaps..." She stared into the water with a bored expression. Glancing at her reflection, she noticed it wasn't hers, but Taiyou's.
"You don't need to train. As long as you have me you can wipe the floor with anyone." Taiyou said into Tsuki's head.
"Then what was that thing with Stein?" Tsuki answered back.
"I didn't have all my energy then okay? Don't even say anything about it!"
Tsuki laughed and turned back around to Black Star. "To answer your question, I don't think training is necessary for me. I think we should do an all out fight!"
Black Star laughed too. "It's your funeral, but okay." Black Star looked around. "Maybe we shouldn't fight in the middle of the city."
"Look at you! Using your head!" Tsuki and Taiyou said simultaneously. Tsuki stood up and put on her shoes. "How about we go to the school? If it gets destroyed then we probably won't have to attend so between the fight and no school, it's a win-win situation."
"Wow you are smart."
"I'm not like any of you filthy casuals. I would have 100% perfect grades if I wasn't so lazy turning in homework."
That night Tsuki and Taiyou were back at the fountain talking to pass the time. The both of them had a root beer in hand. "You know.." Taiyou raised an eyebrow at her. "I am getting tired of living."
"What do you mean?" Taiyou asked. "Are you going to kill yourself?"
"No, no, nothing like that; I just find this place very tiring, don't you?"
Taiyou set her soda down and sighed. "I think we should take over the planet."
"What did you say?"
"Oh, nothing." Taiyou shook her head. "You know, I think I should separate myself from your body for a while so I can go do my own thing. Eh- just for a week. To be honest this place is too boring and predictable."
Tsuki frowned as Taiyou stood up. "I will see you again wont I? You wont just abandon me?"
"I promise I will come back. I promise." Taiyou vanished. Tsuki, having nothing to do, went home to get some rest. She felt tired.
