(In the forest)

LC follows Daryl and Beth silently, eyes red. She's functioning, but seemingly lost in thought.

Daryl points out the crushed grapes and says that things went bad. Beth tells him it wouldn't kill him to have a little faith.

"Yeah, faith. Faith ain't done shit for us. Sure as hell didn't do nothin' for your father, did it?"

Beth whirls to give him a hard stare. LC is behind her and much more subtle, head tilted forward while her eyes drill into Daryl. After a minute, she touches Beth's arm and gently turns her around again, back to the bushes. "Here," she says soothingly, guiding her hand to the bush, where fresh grapes remain. "They'll be hungry when we find them, won't they?"

Beth gives her a very small smile, and they pick off the remaining fruit. Daryl watches for a moment before wordlessly giving Beth a rag to put the grapes in.

. . . . .

(When the three come across the two dead walkers)

LC sees Daryl studying the blood on the leaves and senses something is wrong. She comes closer to him and asks, "What?" She's whispering, attempting to hide any bad news from Beth.

"That ain't walker blood," Daryl answers, too loud, unwilling to be in a private conversation with LC. Beth hears and steps across the walker corpses, looking out into the forest.

"Trail keeps goin'," she says. "They fought 'em off."

"No," answers Daryl. "Got walker tracks all up and down here. Least a dozen of 'em."

A few seconds later, a walker stumbles from the brush and takes hold of Beth, who cries out; Daryl moves forward with his crossbow raised. Behind him, LC's drawn her gun, but neither of them can get a clear shot, so Daryl, having given his knife to Beth, hauls the walker away from her and slams it on the ground, still alive.

"Leah!"

LC drops her gun, pulls her machete from her belt, and slams it into the walker's skull.

. . . . .

(At the railroad tracks)

LC puts down one walker, Daryl puts down the rest. When Beth begins to cry upon seeing the child's shoe, LC puts her arms around her. "Shh, shh," she says, and looks at Daryl. He's quiet. He jerks his head to tell her they need to keep going and begins to walk off. LC stays where she is, holding Beth. Before long, Daryl stops, and he turns to look at the pair again, an act that escapes the notice of either of them.
