During the spring vacation, Helia and Flora were off for a week while Jason got two weeks off from school.
Saladin and Codatorta were sitting on the white three seat sofa, cheering on their favourite football team.
Both of them were wearing a blue and white shirt with white jeans.
"Go team! Go!" The two elderly male cheered.
As the two males continued to cheer, Flora, Nebula and Jason were in the kitchen. Flora wore pink mini jeans shorts with a white blouse and a blue apron. Nebula wore a blue and white dress with a white apron.
Jason, who was resting against the wall wearing blue shorts and a matching colour shirt watched as the two women decorated the cake.
Nebula smiled as she watched Flora decorate the cake. "This is nice. I always wanted a daughter to help me in the kitchen. My sons are so unwilling to help with the cooking."
"Cooking is woman's work." Jason grumbled, folding his arms.
"Come back to this century." Flora scolded him, still focusing on the white cake. "Cooking being a woman's work is for people that think backwards."
"At least I can think, idiot." The young male replied.
"Who are you calling an idiot, you jerk?" Flora turned around, disliking his comment.
"The only brunette in this house." The blue hair male answered with a smirked.
"Jason, behave yourself!" Nebula yelled at him. "I don't know where you and Helia got such a bad attitude but it needs to change. Now apologize."
Jason was a bit surprised to hear that. It was the first time his mother ever yelled at him.
"Sorry." He muttered.
The brunette turned around to finish up the cake.
"Mom, am I doing it okay?" Flora asked, putting the frosting on.
Nebula looked at it and nodded.
Jason looked and commented. "She is not your Mother and it looks like shit."
The two females disregard the remark.
Nebula spoke, focusing on the teenager. "Flora, you and Helia should get married soon. I can't wait for the day you officially become my daughter."
"Not this again." Jason groaned.
Nebula used a hand to gently hit the young boy. "Why does a little boy have so many opinions? Get out of the kitchen."
Jason pouted as he left the room and entered the living room.
Flora looked over to the older female. "Mom, Helia doesn't like me like that."
"Listen to your mother. I see you two becoming a couple in the future." Nebula stated with a smile on her face. "Helia is just too slow to realize it."
In the living room, Jason saw the mail man from where he was standing. He was putting a red envelope into the silver mailbox.
Going outside to collect it, he returned to the living room and handed it over to his and Flora's father.
Saladin opened the envelope and read it. Once he was finished, he looked at his friend and said. "Codatorta, our high school is having a reunion. Are you up for it?"
"Of course." The brown hair male nodded. "I would like to see some of our old classmates."
"Great!" Saladin chimed, closing the invite. "It's keeping at a resort in a town not too far from here."
Nebula entered the room with Flora following behind her with the cake.
The blue hair female said. "You guys are going to a reunion?"
"Yes, do you want to come dear?" Saladin offered. "It's starts tomorrow and is for two days."
"No, I need to stay home with the children." Nebula replied, thinking of a great idea. "You two have fun."
"Have fun, Dad..." Flora said. "…and Dad."
"Thanks sweetie." Saladin and Codatorta replied.
The two males cheered as they got up and went upstairs to pack.
Later In the Day
Flora, Helia, Nebula and Jason stood outside and waved as Saladin and Codatorta drove off in the family's expensive blue car. Nebula and Flora had on the same outfits from earlier without the aprons while Jason had changed into a white shirt with blue sweats.
Once they were out of sight, Helia who had on blue and white sweats was the first to enter the house.
Hearing the phone ring Nebula quickly ran into the house. Jason and Flora soon followed her.
Upon entered the house the two heard her say. "Really? I am on my way."
Nebula hung up the phone and turned to the two. "My mother broke her leg and I have to go and take care of her till dad returns from his trip."
"That's awful." Flora felt bad for Nebula's mother even though she didn't know the female as yet.
"I will take Jason with me while you and Helia watch house." Mrs Knightly suggested.
Helia who was in the kitchen quickly ran into the living room. He and Jason gasped. "What?"
Flora quickly suggested. "You, Helia and Jason should go. I can watch the house by myself."
Jason ran over to his mother. "Mom, you can leave me here with them."
"No, we will go see your Grandmother." Nebula put her foot down. "Flora and Helia have school Monday while you still have an extra week off from school. Go upstairs and pack for a few days."
"Mom…" Jason was about to protest. He stopped seeing how serious she was.
Going upstairs, he packed a bag for the trip.
Nebula and Jason were in a black jeep, preparing to leave. Wearing the same outfit she had on earlier with the apron, Nebula looked at the two teens who were resting against the wall of the garage.
"See you two in a few days." She said. "Call me if it's important."
"Bye Mom." Flora said as the two waved good bye to the female and Jason.
As the two left the house, Helia turned to Flora. "You can cook today and I will do it tomorrow."
"Sure…" Flora answered nervously. 'Maybe I should tell him that my cooking is not the best. No, I have been practicing lately so I can do this.'
Entering the house Helia went upstairs while Flora headed into the kitchen.
One Hour Later
Helia entered the kitchen to see smoke coming from the area. Looking around he saw Flora locking off the stove.
Opening the windows in the room he asked. "Why is the food burnt?"
Flora answered softly. "I am not the best cook in the world."
Helia checked the stove to see black food items on the pot. "Your father is a chef and you can't cook."
"Fine, I suck at cooking. It's not one of my best skills but at least I am trying." Flora sighed, throwing the food into the bin.
"I almost feel sorry for the person you end up marrying." Helia commented, taking his mother's apron. "Wash the pots and pans you used while I make dinner."
Flora nodded in agreement.
Half an Hour Later
Helia placed several vegetarian dishes onto the dining room table. Flora and Helia sat around the table with the brunette admiring how delicious everything looks.
Taking up a fork, she began eating. Taking a bite, she smiled upon tasting it. "This is delicious. This is even better than my father's cooking."
Helia smiled, hearing that. Flora continued to eat, failing to notice that Helia was gazing at her.
Shaking the thought out of his head, Helia started to eat.
Flora remembered something and asked. "Have you finished the homework already?"
"From Monday." Helia answered without hesitation. "Haven't you started it?"
"No, I haven't." Flora said.
"You might as well give up. At your level it will take a week or more to finish it." Helia commented, not encouraging the female.
"Can't you help me? Please Helia." Flora pleated.
"No." Helia shot her down.
Finishing up his dish, he took up the plate and left. Flora groaned as she finished up her dinner. 'What a meanie.'
