The next morning was more than awkward. When the boys and angels got up they heard Ava before they saw her cooking in the kitchen.
Castiel turned around and wanted to flee the scene, but he was hold back by Dean.
"I made breakfast. Didn´t feel like lying in bed all day. Guess 2 and a half weeks beauty sleep is more than enough for me. Don´t look so shocked. Be happy it´s a beautiful day outside." she said smiling at them.
"Ava you still need to rest you aren´t fully healed yet. You need rest." Sam started saying but was quickly interrupted by Ava "Sorry Sammy boy but not all of the scars will go away I am no angel. They will stay with me as a memorial. Should see the scars I got playing with Fenrir." A sad look showed in her eyes. Nobody but Sam seemed to notice it though.
"And I shouldn´t let my savior go hungry. Here you go, blue eyed angel. Thank you so much for saving me I know what you did by saving me. I will never forget it." Ava looked in Castiel´s eyes which filled with tears." I am so sorry for your loss" he whispered. "Don´t be!" Ava said and pulled him into a hug. "You know my dogs died as heroes. They died knowing that they would save me with their death. That was all they ever wanted. They are now some place much better than this, you and me we know that for sure, don´t we? "Ava said with tears in her eyes.
Sam, Dean and Gabriel awkwardly stared at them hugging but happy that Castiel was feeling better already.
"I hope you made pancakes" Gabriel said abruptly causing everyone to stare at him." What? I am starving for something sweet." He said smugly.
Everyone started laughing happy to think of something different than the loss of her children.
"So you like to sing?" Dean stated." Why? Did you hear me? " Ava looked terrified by the prospect that someone would hear her sing.
"Sweetheart even our neighbors could here you even though they live miles away "Gabriel joked.
"Great not only was I showing weakness in front of the enemy, no offense blue eyes, but I also became your laughingstock." Ava winked at them. "Start eating. It´s really good and I am really hungry, I could eat a moose." Bursting in laughter because of a very insulted looking Sam everyone started breakfast.
After breakfast Dean, Castiel and Gabriel offered to clean the kitchen while Sam wanted to check her wounds. As soon as they were in her room on their own Sam told Ava about his news on Fenrir.
He urged her to tell Gabriel that Fenrir was missing so he could help them find him but Ava didn´t like the idea.
"Give me 3 days before we tell him ok? I will ask around and we will find him" she tried but Sam cut her off "How will you do that? You are still too weak to do anything. "
"I am strong enough just..." "Why did you ask for my help if you don´t want it anyways? "Sam snarled at her. Taken aback she just glared at him and left the room.
Outside her room she saw the other three men standing looking at her curiously. "Wow living with other people really takes away someones privacy." Ava stated. "I uhm I need to get stuff from my cave so I will be back in the evening." "I will accompany you" Castiel said in a voice that let everyone know that it was useless to complain. "Great. Not only no privacy but also a guilt ridden bodyguard, Then come on blue eyes." she muttered.
At her cave everything reminded her of her dogs. Normally she wouldn´t cry this easily especially in front of a stranger but everything seemed so unfair to her. Why did all the bad things always happened to her? ´Never catching a break´ she thought.
Castiel just stared at her helplessly. "Don´t worry I am ok. Just getting some clothes. Could you do me a favor blue eyes? Castiel he replied. "My name is Castiel not blue eyes." "Ok touchy. Can you drop by Bobby on our way back?" Castiel tilted his head looking at her in confusion. "Why?" He asked. "Just need to do some checking there. No biggie but I was never there so I need your assistance. Don´t worry ,with my hero by my side, nothing can happen to me. And it´s not like he knows who I am. He won´t just shoot at a stranger won´t he?" She said smiling shyly at him.
When they arrived at Bobby´s she changed her style, as she liked to call it into the curvy brunette, "Better this way blue I mean Castiel." She remarked at his confusion.
Walking up to the door, it opened from itself. Although not Bobby but Crowley was looking at them.
"Oh Ava darling what do you want? And why is there the Winchester angel with you? Don´t tell me you killed them and took their angel as a new pet! Bobby won´t like that" Crowley said grinning.
"Crowley you know I don´t kill people unlike some people do "she said glaring at him. "What? Won´t let us in? Tsts where are your manners. And why doyou think you could stop me." She stomped into the house followed by Castiel.
Bobby looked up from his book looking at a very attractive woman and Castiel. Confused and concerned he turned to Castiel "did something happen to the boys? What are you doing here with her?"
"The boys are ok and I am Ava by the way. I am not here to talk to you so I brought Castiel with me to keep you company. Castiel, stay here watch over Bobby I´ll go talk to the demon in the kitchen." She winked at Bobby who wanted to get up but got pushed down by Castiel "Sorry Bobby you got to stay here."
"So Crowley it seems you found a new hobby? Didn´t like hell anymore?" Ava inquired.
"As much as I enjoy smalltalk like any normal person does but what do you want? You are not the type to do smalltalk." "Don´t talk like you know me demon. I am looking for someone." "Why am I always right? What will you give me for information." "Still a demon I see. Let´s see what could I give you?" she looked at him, seemingly lost in thoughts." Oh I just remembered I gave you three puppies right? Little sweeties, aren´t they? I could just tell them to not to chew a little on you and your little hobby in the other room."
"Funny really terrifying but you forget I am their master they only obey me."
"Are you sure Crowley?" With a whistle blow three hell hounds appeared in the room looking first at Ava then at Crowley. "My oh my did you grow big! How are my little babies? Did you miss mummy? Yeah I missed you too." Ava said cuddling with all three of them. "Still convinced they won´t follow my orders?" She asked an utterly shoced looking demon.
Crowley looked at his hounds and back at Ava. "What do you want?" "Now that I think about it, nothing from you. I have your hounds nothing more I need." Then she started talking to the hound in a language Crowley never heard before. "Off you go, see you soon darlings." She said as the hounds started leaving the kitchen. "Was it necessary to scare me like that?" Crowley sighed.
"Yeah, just so you know who you talking to" she grinned lopsided at him making him shiver.
"As pleasantly as this conversation was could you please leave!"
"Rude! Castiel let´s go" Ava said getting up. "See you soon!" "Not to soon I hope."
"Bye Bobby, I am sure we will meet each other soon enough."
Leaving a very confused man and an angry demon behind they left.
"We are back" Ava announced when they arrived at the bunker. "Ava can you come to the living room for a moment" a very angry voice yelled back. "What did I do this time?" Ava groaned. "I feel like a little kid." she muttered to herself.
"Here I am..Oh, you´ve met one of my bigger babies." Ava looked around, bursting into laughter as she saw Dean and Sam clearly terrified at nothing and Gabriel trying to calm seemingly empty space down with candy. "Oh my Father, haven´t laughed like that in a while. Gabby I thought I told you only pecan pie will calm them down. I forgot Sam and Dean can´t see them one moment..."
"Incredible, how did you" Sam said while Dean looked at the pie in Gabriel´s hand muttering a "what a pity, pie for a hell hound."
"I created him, so I can show him to mere humans, if I want to and its a lot easier to let him be visible than you being scared the whole time. His name is Growley. Hell hounds love pecan pie. When I created them for Crowley ,I loved pecan pie so they love it too.
But back to my baby what did you find?" Ava was serious again and turned around to face the hound. Sam looked at her hoping for any news regarding Fenrir while Cas and Gabe watched Dean as he tried to get a piece of pie without getting noticed by the hell hound. Both shook their head at his desperate move to get some pie. Dean just shot them a glare.
Ava tensed up. The news wasn´t the kind she wanted to hear. Fenrir was nowhere found. Not in Hell not on Earth, so he must be in Heaven. ´Just my luck ´she thought.
Before she could even share the news with Sam, a very angry Crowley followed by Bobby burst into the bunker.
Startled everyone looked at them. "What the hell? Nobody heard of phonesor maybe knocking?. What do you need Crowley? Hey Bobby." Dean muttered.
"Shut up idjit." Bobby replied. "Just here to pick his dog up. Was in a terrible mood the whole time. Who is that Ava anyways? And why is his hound visible? Ugly thing."
"He is not ugly" Crowley and Ava said at the same time. "He is just different."
"Who are you?" Crowley eyed her. The girl looked awfully familiar. These eyes he bet he had seen them before. "Ava? What happened to you? "
"What? that´s the same person who was in my house?" "Yeah sorry for the intrusion. Get yourself together demon. Don´t like what you see than don´t look."
"No, just surprised how helpless you look." "Me? Helpless?" her eyes burnt with power. "Don´t forget who you talking to or need I repeat myself." "No, I see you are still the same bitch."
Laughing she nodded. "Yeah suppose. Just love it when someone calls me a bitch. They don´t even know how right they are, don´t they" she said winking at all of them.
Bobby meanwhile let Castiel and Gabriel explain him the whole deal about her. She looked at them and smiled. "Great family you got there Crowley." "You think so? Yeah you got softer. But it suits you. Don´t worry won´t tell anyone."
"I don´t want to interrupt your little family reunion, but I think I should leave you to it. I will get uhm some sleep I guess. G´night then." The humans and angels and a still pissed demon looked at her. "You can stay if you want, after all you are like family too" Sam said. "Yeah, family don´t stop with blood" Dean stated.
Everybody saw how her face lit up. They knew how much she looked for belonging somewhere. And Ava saw that they meant what they said. Besides Crowley, who just glared at her. But they could also see how she hesitated. "No, I couldn´t and besides you were right I should rest. Don´t worry about me so much. See you for breakfast."
Back in her room she packed her stuff ready to leave, when someone knocked. ´Damn´ she thought. "One minute! "
"Hey there just getting ready for bed, Dean. What do you want? A kiss good night?" Jokingly she said.
"No, just want to know, if you will say goodbye to them. They deserve it you know! They were really worried especially Cas and Gabriel."
"What are you talking about Dean? Why would I leave? Don´t be silly" she tried avoiding his gaze which clearly said don´t mess with me "I know what you are up to."
"Ok busted. Will you tell on me? I just wanted to take care of some business and then I would have come right back I swear." She crossed her fingers hoping he wouldn´t notice.
"I assume you won´t tell me what kind of business you got to take care of, we may be of help to you...I take your silence as a no. Do you need anything? Weapons or something?"
"No, I got Blue Eyes´s sword." quickly continuing at his angry look" Just borrowing I will bring it back. Gotta admit though, I thought you were dumber but guess you are more of a silent genius. Being subtle and all. Should have asked you first." Dean laughed at her statement. "Yeah guess I am not all that open about. Don´t tell anyone. See you soon ok? " "Bye Dean, we will see us soon again, I promise."
With that Ava vanished. Dean sighed and closed the door. "I hope I won´t regret this, Missy."
