Chapter Six: Master Chef Coori

"You know," Husky began as he and the others sat around the dining table, arms crossed over his chest, "I was actually highly doubting that Coori was Senri's child for a while. But seeing as we didn't even notice her walking into the room and hiding behind Senri's chair, makes me realize that she is his kid."

"Husky!" Nana exclaimed, looking towards him with shock. "How could you say such a thing in front of her?!"

"Well, it's true!" Husky said.

Cooro chuckled to this while sweating a bit. Senri just sat in silence with Coori sitting on his lap again, drinking the honey milk he made for her.

"It's alright, Nana." Cooro said, "It's not the first time someone thought Coori wasn't Senri's. She's usually energetic and happy like me!"

"I think you mean "hyper"," Husky said before getting hit in the arm by Nana, who gave him a glare as well.

"But she does have her moments where she's just like her daddy!" Cooro said, smiling happily.

"That's when I act like a bear," Coori said, smiling happily.

Senri looked down at her with a smile and petted her head. Coori purred to the pets before making growling bear noises, giggling a little as well. Cooro awed at his little girl and kissed her forehead, making her purr more in happiness.

Nana just watched the family in awe, making Husky look at her with slight worry as to what she was going to do.

"Anyway," Husky began as he looked out the window, "it's seems to be getting dark outside, maybe we should prepare dinner now?"

"I wanna be helper!" Coori said as she raised her arm into the air, waving it around.

Senri chuckled a little to his daughter's hyperness while Nana awed even more at her.

"Well, how can I say no to such a cute, little helper?" Nana said, smiling big.

Coori looked at her wearily. "Grandma Nana isn't going to pick me up again, is she?" she asked as she looked toward her mother a bit scared.

"Don't call me "grandma"!" Nana exclaimed angrily.

"Don't worry Coori, daddy and I won't let that happen again." Cooro said reassuringly.

"Okay," Coori said, nodding.

Senri petted Coori's head to help calm her before putting her down and getting up.

"Let's get started, shall we?" Cooro asked as he, too, got up from his seat.

"Yes, let's!" Nana said, getting up as well along with Husky.

"Hmm," Husky said as he cut the potatoes.

"Something on your mind, Husky?" Nana asked, looking up from the oven and over toward him.

"It's nothing," Husky said, accidentally nicking himself with the knife. "Ow!"

"Be careful with knives, Uncle Husky." Coori said, scolding him lightly.

Nana and Cooro laughed at her as she wagged a finger at Husky. Husky glared at them as he put his finger in his mouth.

"Come on, let's get that cut treated properly." Nana said as she wiped her hands on a towel before going to Husky.

"Right…" Husky said, showing his finger to Nana as everyone else went back to work.

"Mommy! I finished dressing table!" Coori said as she stood next to the dining table.

"Let me see," Cooro said as he went over to check on his daughter's work. "Good job, sweetie! You did well!"

"Yay~!" Coori said with a giggle.

"You two think you could go ahead and wash up before dinner?" Nana asked as she pulled out a pie from the oven.

"Sure," Cooro said, looking towards Nana before looking at Coori again. "Shall we?"

"Yeah!" Coori said, taking her mother's hand and following him out of the room.

Nana smiled at the two before putting the pie on the counter. Senri stirred the stew a bit longer before taking it off of the fire and carefully caring it to the table. Husky was putting the finishing touches on some of the sides before taking them to the table as well.

"Doesn't this sort of remind you of when we were younger?" Nana asked as she took off her oven mitts.

"You mean how we were traveling together?" Husky asked as he looked over to her.

"Of course, silly," Nana said as she walked toward the table. "It felt like those times when we were traveling together."

She let out a sigh while putting a hand on her cheek. Senri stayed silent as usual as he poured the stew into the bowls as Cooro and Coori came back to the table.

"All clean!" Coori said happily, holding her hands up to show everyone.

"Very good, Coori!" Nana said, smiling. "Now, why don't you take your seat."

"Okay~!" Coori said before going and hoping up into one of the chairs.

Senri placed a bowl of stew in front of Coori as Cooro helped her into her seat. Coori smiled big and thanked her mother for his help, making Nana squeal over her again. Husky looked at her with slight worry for her picking up and hugging the poor child again, Senri doing the same.

"Let's dig in!" Cooro said as he took his seat.

"Yeah!" Coori said happily, throwing her arms into the air.

Nana couldn't help but laugh at the two before taking a seat, along with the others, and began their meal.
