Disclaimer- I don't own Harry Potter
The night before the Slytherin/Hufflepuff Quidditch game Ginny couldn't take it anymore. Draco was out and out sulking now. Ginny had been asked out another two times publicly and knew he had heard about it. After everyone in her dorm had gone off to bed Ginny grabbed her broom and snuck out the window.
She flew down to Draco's window in the darkness and tapped on it. No one answered. She tapped louder. Blaise opened it. "Hello lovely" he smiled and let her in.
"Is he here?" she asked setting her broom against the wall.
"No, but I will let you stay and wait for him if you swear you won't shag him while I'm in the room."
Ginny chuckled. "I promise" she held her hand up.
She climbed into Draco's bed and sat cross glegged. "So… how are you doing?" She asked, not knowing what to do with herself.
"Well I'm still breathing so all signs point to alive." Ginny laughed. "And you miss Weasley? Fending all the boys off as best you can?"
Ginny scrunched up her face. "Has he talked to you about that?"
"He didn't have to" Blaise shrugged. "He did however blow up that chair." He pointed to the corner of the room where there was a pile of wood and fluff.
"Huh" Ginny said.
"So not to be rude, but I was asleep when you tapped. I am going to pull the curtains closed and do a muffliato spell. Remember though. He pointed at her "No shagging."
She laughed. "Fine" she said as he drew the curtains closed. Ginny settled against the pillows. His bed was very comfortable. She kicked off her shoes and settled into the pillows. It was rather late and she was soon asleep.
Around midnight Draco packed up his homework in the Slytherin common room. Sneaking around with Ginny had sounded so hot, now it was really getting to him. They rarely saw each other and now other guys were after her. Concentration was getting harder. It took twice as long to finish an essay as it normally did. He needed sleep though, he had a Quidditch match the next day. Raising from the table he dragged his feet back to his dorm room.
The light from the hall cast a glow on his bed as he entered the room. He did a double take when he saw Ginny laying asleep under his sheets. He glanced over at Blaise's bed and saw the curtains drawn. Then he saw her broom propped up by the window.
Carefully he set down his bag and stripped down to his boxers. He gently climbed into bed and pulled the curtains drawn and cast his own muffliato spell. Climbing under the covers he slid up against Ginny and pulled her arm around him. She stirred slightly and snuggled into him and gave him a sleepy kiss. Draco relaxed and fell into a very peaceful sleep.
Ginny awoke before he did. They were still snuggled together, but their legs were now in a tangle of sheets and each others legs. She smiled and tried to check the time on his watch. "Go back to sleep" Draco said sensing her movement.
"I'm an early bird" She whispered back. It was 6:30am.
"You weren't the first day of classes."
"I'm an early bird when I get really good sleep." She smiled and snuggled back into him.
Draco's hand found its way under the back of her shirt while she rubbed her hand all over his chest. He tried to roll onto his side, but his legs were all caught up in the sheets. He grumbled and sat up to throw the sheets off. He sat looking down at Ginny a moment. "I'll be right back" he said and slipped through the curtains. A minute later she heard the toilet flush and the tap run.
He came back to bed and Ginny could smell mint. "Not fair" I don't have a toothbrush here" she exclaimed quietly. He lay down beside her and ran his hand up her side.
"I'll just have to deal with it" he smiled and began kissing her hip.
Ginny smiled "Or you can just not kiss me on the mouth."
Draco paused. "Challenge accepted." He lifted her shirt higher and began kissing her stomach. She just had a t-shirt and boy shorts on. "No bra?" He teased her nipples with his thumbs.
Ginny hooked one leg over him and flipped him onto his back so she was on top. Draco looked surprised at her strength. After so many wrestles with her brothers she knew how to drop someone onto their ass, regardless of their weight difference. Draco lifted her shirt over her head. "I made a promise to Blaise that we wouldn't get carried away." Draco frowned. "Only way he'd let me stay" she shrugged. She leant forward and kissed his neck. "Are you feeling better now?" She asked seductively into his ear.
Draco grabbed her hips and pressed her down into him. "Not entirely" she rocked against his erection.
"I have no control over other people Draco" she stated referring to all the date requests she'd received.
"I beg to differ" he grunted whilst she grinded him.
"Would this be considered breaking my promise to Blaise?" She asked in a quiet pant as she bit his shoulder.
Draco flipped her back over so he was on top. "If I say no would you believe me?" He ground into her desperately slowly and she writhed beneath him. "If we go nice and slowly he wont know anything" Draco whispered.
She dug her nails into his back as he kept dry humping her agonizingly slowly, though it still felt good she had to hold back a growl of frustration. "Too slow" she whined. He upped the speed of his gyrations. She hummed and arched her back. Draco burrowed his face in the pillows beside her head and cupped her ass with one hand while trying to support some of his weight with the other. They took each other over the edge and Draco had to put his hand over her mouth as he felt the rumble of her moan rise through her chest.
He rolled over and grabbed his wand to clean himself up. Draco pulled her towards him "what were you saying about having no control over people?"
She kissed the side of his face. "I don't know what to do about it except keep saying 'no' to these guys." She said "it's getting harder and harder to be nice about it to them." Ginny ran her hand down his arm and noticed his dark mark. It was very faint. He looked down at it too.
"Worst decision ever" he said frowning. He locked into her eyes and cupped the side of her face. "Best decision ever" and kissed her firmly on the lips. Ginny smiled.
"And now I have to leave again. Try to sneak back into my dorm and hope no one is up yet"
"You could just say you got up at the crack of dawn for a fly" Draco offered.
"I'm not quite dressed for that lie" She countered. With a big sigh she pulled back the curtains and pulled on her shoes and cloak.
"I'm really glad you came" Draco kissed her.
"I'll be cheering for you at the game today." She laughed "Just not out loud." Ginny went over to the window and blew him a kiss as she left.
Draco watched her fly away with his arms crossed. Blaise pulled open his curtains behind him. "She didn't keep her promise did she?"
"Did you hear something that told you she didn't?" Draco tested.
"No" Blaise smiled "But you look to be in too good of a mood for me to thing you guys just spent the whole night spooning." Draco beamed at him in spite of himself. "Gross" Blaise dais and went to the bathroom.
The Quidditch game was not a close one. Slytherin dominated Hufflepuff 220/30. Draco did exceptionally well despite the surprise of seeing his father in the stands. Lucius must have wanted to see his sons first game as Quidditch captain. While the team had landed and celebrated Lucius came into the pitch to congratulate him. "You did an excellent job Draco." He said and gave him a genuine smile.
But then Lucius gazed across the pitch and excused himself. Draco shook a few more hands before noticing that his father was headed towards Ginny. She didn't have Potter, Granger, or her brother near her. It was just her, and he was walking to her directly. Draco felt his heart go to his throat.
Ginny was frozen on the spot when she saw Lucius making his way to her after giving Draco a congratulatory hug. There was no way he knew something was going on between his son and herself was there? As he drew nearer her mouth ran dry. Terror filled her veins and she didn't feel she could mover her legs.
"Miss Weasley" Lucius said as he reached her. "You don't look very happy to see me." She didn't say anything. There were several people close by, she took solace on that, but her fear wouldn't let her move. "I cam to personally apologize to you." Ginny's eyes widened. "I've been trying to make amends where I can for the horrible things I've done in the past." He actually did look regretful to her. "I know what I did to you was awful and very nearly cost you your life." He inhaled deeply and shifted from one foot to the other. I was obvious that this was uncomfortable for him. "I've seen the error of my ways and if there is ever anything I can do to try and make it up to you, please let me know." He bowed his head slightly in a parting gesture.
As he turned and walked away Ginny slowly began to breath again. She felt dizzy as she replayed his words over in her head. Slowly the things around her came back into focus. She saw Draco walking towards her, but he stopped when he reached his father. Giving Ginny a very concerned look he said something to Lucius. She saw Lucius reply and Draco looked as though he was going to go to her. Neville got there first.
"You alright?" He asked as he took in her pale face. Ginny was barely keeping it together. Her lip trembled and she hiccupped from trying to hold back her hysterics bubbling under the surface. That apology had brought up more of her suppressed emotions from the Chamber than telling the story had. "Ginny?" Neville was alarmed by her demeanor and took her hand.
She gained some control of her body and threw herself into a hug with him. "I don't want to cry here." She whispered into his cloak.
"Okay" Neville replied awkwardly and helped her out of the pitch. He brought her down to the lake away from everyone. Once her feet hit the sand she fell down on all fours and started sobbing. All Neville could do was gently rub her back. It took a full minute to calm down enough to try and get words out.
"He just brought it all back."
"Who brought what back?" Neville was very confused.
"Lucius Malfoy."
Neville had been still been rubbing her back. His hand froze "What did he do?"
"He apologized."
"For what? Being a monster"
"Basically"
"Why to you specifically?"
Neville had not been privy to that information from her past. "It was because of him that I opened the Chamber of Secrets and almost died when I was eleven."
"That was you?" Neville asked loudly "How? What? How did Lucius Malfoy make you do that" Neville stammered.
"Tom Riddles diary, you know him as Voldemort. It was a Horcrux." That part she didn't have to explain. After the battle Harry had explained to him why his killing Nagani was so crucial.
"Wow" was all he could day. He hugged her to him awkwardly as they sat in the sand. She has a few silent tears going down her cheeks now.
"I'll be fine in a minute."
A half hour later they walked back to the castle. The Great hall was full of celebrating Slytherins. Ginny just wanted to go to bed. She parted from Neville and went to head to her dorm. Heading down the busy corridors she saw Draco being congratulated by some fellow Slytherins. He saw her and she continued walking past. He made an excuse and followed in behind her several paces back. Three stair cases and two hallways later it was finally just the two of them.
He caught up to her and pulled her into the alcove of a window. "Tell me." He said cupping her cheek. Her eyes were still red and her face was puffy.
"All he did was apologize" She told him softly. "It just brought up a lot of feelings."
Draco gave her soft kisses on each corner of her eyes and hugged her close. "I tried to ask him what he said to you, but he wouldn't tell me. He just said he did something he should have done a long time ago." He kissed the top of her head. "How are you feeling?"
"Better than I was" she replied.
"I wish I was able to walk you back to your dorm." He admitted.
Ginny sighed. "I'll be fine."
They kissed momentarily and went their separate ways. It had been such a good day for him until his stupid father showed up and messed it up.
Sneaking around was no longer working for him, for them. He wanted to be able to go to her when he wanted, and especially when she needed. And worst of all, all the fucking guys asking her out he was not dealing with well. He should have gone back to the Slytherin common room for a celebratory drink, and he would, but first he went to the Owlery.
All of her friends had grilled her when she got back tot eh Gryffindor common room, and she relayed the story over and over again. Ron was skeptical about Lucius' intentions. Harry believed him, and Hermione remained silent and held Ginny's hand.
The next morning Ginny did the best to just put it out of her mind. She went with her friends for breakfast and poured herself a very large cup of coffee.
Jason Appleby, a sixth year from Ravenclaw, came and sat down beside her. "Hello all" he nodded to the group. They all nodded. None of them had interacted with him before, except for Ginny. Which is who he was there for.
"So Ginny" he said "The dance is just two weeks away!" Ginny almost spit up her mouthful of coffee. She turned to him.
As calmly as she could she said "Yes it is." Harry snickered a little on the other side of her and she kicked him under the table and scowled a bit.
"How about you and I go together?"
Ginny was about to turn him down gently when a parcel dropped in front of her. It had her name on it. "That's really sweet of you" She said absent mindedly while opening her package. On top inside the box was a card, underneath was a dress. She paused brow furrowed in confusion at the dress, and then she read the card.
I have no more interest in keeping this quiet. No more sneaking around. Will you go to the dance with me?-D
Ginny couldn't contain the grin on her face.
"Ginny?" Jason asked.
"Huh? What?" She turned back to him "What was I saying?" She grinned at him.
"The dance…"
"Oh!" She exclaimed. "Thanks for asking, but I already have a date." She closed up the box with the note inside and looked across the hall to where Draco normally sat. But he wasn't at the Slytherin table anywhere.
She heard a small cough behind her. He was standing there. "You already have a date you say?" Draco asked.
She looked up at him smiling. "I happened to have just received the right offer."
"You didn't come over here for my sister did you?!" Ron accused more than asked.
"Shut up Ron." Ginny said as she stood up. "Really?" She asked Draco.
"A little past the point of return now" He smiled indicating to all the people staring at them, including a few from the Head Table.
"No yet we aren't" She said before she kissed him
All jaws in the Great Hall dropped at the same moment. The only sound that could be heard was the clinking of one fork on one plate. Blaise was still eating his eggs.
