Night of Wolves

Chapter 6

Who Are You Part 1

"Hey!" Lupe yelled at the men again, "Leave him alone!"

"Aw isn't that cute," the leader chucked to his five other men, "they think that they can face us. Ha ha ha ha, Killem."

Lupe and Chase activated their pup-packs and pulled out their M4s. The leader, known a Josh, saw this and ordered his men to stop beating Rocky's pup-house and focus on Lupe and Chase.

Balto then sunk up to Rocky's house and knocked on the door a couple of times and said, "Rocky, it's me, Balto. Open the door and get onto my back."

Rocky then open the door and closed his eyes. Balto graded him and put Rocky on his back and ran for the Lookout doors.

When Balto got to the doors they opened automatically. He was then met with a worried Jenna who was sleeping in the Lookout there was nowhere else to sleep really. She asked him, "Batlo, what is going on?"

Balto responded, "Jenna, just stay in here. There are some pretty bad people outside right now. I am trying to retrieve the other pups while Lupe and Chase are distracting them." Just then.

BANE!

A gunshot. At this point of time, no one knew who's bullet hit who. Balto, Jenna, Rocky, Skye, Everest, Zuma, Rubble, Marshall, Ryder, and who knows who else heard the gunshot. The pups outside wanted to go and see but, Chase got on the radio, "Pups, Ryder, don't come out! It is too dangerous!"

Balto was stunned, he stood still for 5 seconds.

BANE!

Another shot shook Balto inside. He was scared for his life, but also for Lupe and Chase's lives as well. He doesn't know what their condition was. He then realized that the last orders from Lupe were, "Get all the pups safe and sound in the Lookout. Don't worry about us." Balto was then back in the mood and went right back outside.

He didn't pay any attention to the men, Lupe, and Chase. All that he was thinking was to get the other pups to safety.

Balto then went to Zuma and Rubble's pup-houses and got both of them. They were scared out of their minds. Balto picked them up and put them on his back one at a time.

When he had both Zuma and Rubble he ran back to the Lookout doors and dropped them off. Jenna pulled them more into the Lookout. Balto then went outside again to get Everest and Skye. When he came up to Lupe and Chase's pup-houses (That is where Everest and Skye where) he saw the smallest amount of blood on Lupe's. Ignoring that, he quickly got Everest and Skye to walk back with him.

When they were finally in the Lookout all the pups were traumatized including Ryder. Ryder and Jenna did their best to try and clam down the pups. Balto was at the door in case the evil men tried to get in. They all worried about Lupe and Chase and what those gunshots were from.

Back outside after the first gunshot.

Chase and Lupe stood there stunned on what just happened. One of the men had shot at them but was so inaccurate that he missed by a couple of inches. Lupe and Chase kept their cool so they wouldn't go craze. Lupe and Chase started to run in multiple directions to confuse the men.

In the chaos, one of the men shot their gun in a random direction. Only luck was in the bullet and it hit Lupe right where he didn't have armor, his and Chase's weak spot not only for their metal armor but also their natural armor. Their Achilles heel, the scruff of their neck.

Some of Lupe's blood splattered onto his pup-house. The now once luck man was unlucky to have a fully crazed wolf jump onto him and ripped his throat out, killing him.

Chase was done playing, "Ruff, HUMVEE!" Chase yelled then his pup-house transformed into the humvee, "Ruff, 50-cal!" his humvee then had its 50-cal machine gun unlocked and aimed at the men.

"I'M DONE PLAYING GAMES!" Chase yelled at the men as he jumped into his humvee and driving it over to Lupe to protect him. Chase then got on to the 50-cal and started to rain hell on the enemy.

BANE! BANE! BANE! BANE! BANE! BANE! BANE! BANE! BANE! BANE!

He hit them all. All except the leader. Josh, at the last second, aimed his gun to the same spot Lupe was hit and fired.

BANE!

Before the bullet hit Chase he shot one final 50-cal bullet at Josh. Aimed at his head.

BANE!

Everything was then in slow motion for Chase, his anger is at the top level and he is now faster than the speed of sound. He saw the bullet coming toured him and flicked it a different direction. He didn't see that have he flicked it was the Lookout doors that had Balto, Jenna, Everest, and Skye at the door. It was headed toward Skye.

"NOOO!" Chase yelled in slow motion. Using his super speed, he jumped out of his humvee, used all his strength. He got in front of the bullet and prepared for impact. Little did he know that the bullet was about to his weak spot like Lupe.

Back in reality, the 50-cal hit Josh in the head. He went to his knees and fell face first into the pavement. Josh's bullet hit Chase. Some of it somehow went threw him tearing his skin and hit his nerve. The rest of the bullet scattered pieces everywhere in his body. The part of the bullet that left his body, then through the air, smashed through the glass and hit Balto who got in front of Skye expecting he would take the whole impact. He was surprised when only some hit him.

Chase, using everything he had left, got up and looked over at the pups all with their mouths open with fear in them. He then looked over to his now nearly unconscious brother.

Lupe was on his side and bleeding. Chase, ignoring the pain in his neck, hopped over to him. When he got to Lupe the adrenaline must have gone down because he then slipped to his bother's side with both of them slowly healing but not fast enough.

"I'm… sorry… Chase. I-" Lupe managed to say with a hoarse voice.

Chase could barely respond saying, "Sorry… for what?"

"For… bring you *gasps for breath* and the pups… into this," Lupe breathed.

"This *gasps of breath* isn't your… falt," Chase said also now out of breath, "We just need to… heal. We'll… be fine."

Lupe and Chase laid there going in and out of conscious. Skye and Everest were in shock and couldn't move. Balto was wearing a bullet-proof vest and that is where the bullet remains went in. Balto and Jenna were in shock but both snapped out of it quickly.

"Marshall!" Balto called.

"Yes, right behind you," Mashall responded.

"You and Jenna get Chase and Lupe into the Medical Bay of the Lookout. I'll cover you if there is anyone else," Balto ordered.

Batlo, Jenna, and Marshall went outside. The sun was now rising to a beautiful winter morning with an inch of snow on the grass and trees, well, it was going to be until the evil men came for Rocky. Blood now was on the driveway and on the grass making the snow red. Both Lupe and Chase lay in pools of their own blood in the snowy grass which made Marshall nearly barf. Balto came up and passed Lupe and Chase watching everything, making sure no one else was around. Jenna got to Lupe and dragged him to the Lookout Medical Bay while Marshall dragged Chase to the same location.

"The cost is clear," Balto said running up to them, "Get them inside and Marshall," Marshall looked to Balto, "Get the pieces of the bullets out of them before they heal."

Marshall could only nod. They then got Lupe and Chase into the Medical Bay and Marshall got to work.

Later that day. Time: 11:00 am.

Marshall had finished getting the last pieces of the bullet out Chase and wrapped bandages around the wound. In the werewolf spectrum, it would take two days for Lupe and Chase to fully heal. There nerves and skin will be back looking normal in no time. Marshall checked out Balto for any wounds, he only had some minor bruising which Marshall treated very quickly.

Ryder had called the Adventure Bay Police to come and investigate the scene, and maybe find out who these people were.

When the police arrived they were stunned at the scene. There were 5 dead bodies on the driveway and grass staining the snow and pavement with blood. The police then called up some of their detectives to help with the investigation.

Just then another vehicle pulled up the Lookout's driveway. It looked like a Jeep Wrangler but a futuristic version. In the front it said Rezvani and on the sides it said Tank. It stopped and what looked like a young man hopped out. He was wearing an FBI uniform but on the side, it said, Deputy. On the passenger side exited what looked like a K9 unit dog. It looked almost like Lupe and Chase when in wolf form.

The K9 unit dog joined the young man and walked right next to him. They walked to the Lookout's front doors. At the time there where two police officers guarding the door because Ryder asked them to. They stopped the young man and asked for his ID.

"Name is Atlas. FBI Deputy Director. I was ordered to come by the new FBI Director Morgan." the young man said showing his ID and badge.

"It would be the least we could do after the Paw Patrol saved his personal K9 Penny," the other dog said.

One of the officers responded with, "Ok, I'll call Ryder over."

The young man, now known as Atlas, stepped back and the K9 sat at attention next to him.

A few moments later Ryder came out with Balto and the other officer. "Your Atlas?" Ryder asked.

"Indeed I am, brother of Morgan, the new FBI Director. He wanted me to come and help with whatever we can." Atlas said looking over to the K9, "This is Stark, my personal assistant and, K9 unit."

"Ok then, nice to met you Atlas and Stark," Ryder said shaking Atlas's hand.

"Nice to meet you too," Atlas said, "Ok, down to business. What exactly happened this morning? All I know is that two of your pups/werewolves have been seriously injured and that there are five other humans dead due to this encounter."

"I don't know that much either but Balto knows more than me," Ryder said looking at Balto.

"Ok then, Stark," Atlas called, "Get what Balto knows and I will work with the other investigators. My brother should be coming soon to help us out personally," Stark nodded and looked at Balto.

"Ok Balto, we either can talk alone or not in the Lookout," Stark said.

"I would like to have the other pups hear exactly what happened so in the Lookout with the other pups," Balto said.

"Ok then," Stark responded.

Then Stark and Balto when back into the Lookout. Ryder and Atlas followed in suit. Ryder wanted to know everything that Balto knew and when Lupe and Chase wake to know their side as well.

When Balto showed Stark and Atlas to the living room of the Lookout, Ryder and Altas sat on the couch while Stark sat on the floor and introducing himself and Atlas to the other pups. The pups were still sniffling over the fact that two of their own are very injured in the Medical ward.

"Ok," Stark said gesturing to Atlas to get a note pad and pen out, which Atlas did ready to take notes, "Start from the very beginning of what happened here last night."

Balto started to tell the story and left no detail unsaid. Meaning he exposed himself, Chase, and Lupe as werewolves in the proses. He said he would never lie to an officer especially another dog. Stark stopped him in between the story to ask questions. Balto answered all of them to the best of his abilities.

"Alright then, so you, Lupe, and Chase were investigating the attack on the mix-breed which happened to be Morgan's K9 Penny, thank you for saving her. When you were watching the video they posted, you heard some people beating Rocky's pup-house." Stark summarized.

"Correct," Balto responded.

"And, all three of you went to investigate that. What you found was that they were the same men who attacked Penny erlyer that morning. You, Chase, and Lupe retrieved your bullet-proof vests and Lupe and Chase their uniforms and pup-packs."

"Yep,"

"How did they get seriously hurt then?" Stark asked.

"Being werewolves, our Achilles heel is the scruff of our necks, and that is the one place where our metal armor doesn't reach," Balto answered flatly.

"O-k," Stark looked to Atlas who then looked back and nodded and closed his notebook.

"Wait," Skye blurted out, "You said that five of the men died and that there were only five men. Last I checked there were actually six men who attacked us."

Atlas got his notebook back out and wrote down what Skye said. Stark came up to her and said, "You sure there was six?"

Skye nodded and said, "Balto? There were six men. One of them must have gotten away."

Balto then thought about it, "Oh, your right Skye. Sorry Stark, there were six men."

"You're fine, the more we know the better. If that guy got away he must have been injured in some way, we could still get him and question him." Stark said in a generous tone.

Then, the sound of a helicopter came in. Stark, Atlas, Ryder, and the pups ran outside to see who it was. The helicopter in question was a black hawk with F. B. I. on the sides. Out the two side windows were 30-cal miniguns, on the winglets were two cylinders that had 70mm rockets and on the outside part of the winglets were two quad launchers loaded with laser-guided Hell-Fire missiles, the same ones on Lupe's tank.

The helicopter landed on the driveway of the Lookout and turned off. Out stepped another young man who looked just like Atlas only the uniform was different. It said FBI and then on the side "Director."

AN: Ok that was a lot to do though it might not look like much, it was the best I could do. Thank you for reading and baring with me. I apologize for how late this was but it took me three tries to get this chapter right. I hope you enjoyed.
