*I just wanted to say I'm sorry for being away for so long. Unfortunately I've been struggling badly with my health and having to leave my job. I just needed some time for me. But now I'm back and they will be updates and new chapters all the time*.
This day started off as any normal day. Kaidan doing spectre reports and Gemma was in the shower reminiscing about the night before, she could still feel it. The strokes on her neck where he kissed her and the way he pulled at her body. Wanting more of her, she had never been with a guy before. Only dates here and there which ended badly, but something felt different for Gemma, she felt more alive and driven. The more she thought about it the less she felt in the present and before she knows it her skin is glowing blue but much stronger like she's about to use an Nova.
Kaidan knocked on the door "Gemma are you okay? The room went completely blue" there wasnt a reply for a few seconds.
"Yeah... yeah I'm okay just my biotics again" she was out of the shower but was just looking into the mirror, her skin was like a clear blue sea in the middle of summer. She didn't know why it was happening but she felt just.. Alive.
"Okay I've made us breakfast"
"Okay, I'll be right out" getting ready she heard Kaidans omni tool ring. She couldn't really hear but it sounded desperate and worrying.
As she bust out of the room worried, Kaidan was running around the room trying to pull his pants up and get his alliance uniform on.
"What's the matter. Are you okay?" She tried to pull him to a stop but his face so blank as sheet of paper.
"Cerberus, there on the citadel. That was Udina I have to go to get him and the rest of the counsel off the station but also the salarian counsellor can't be found"
"Okay let me get ready and I'll come with you" before she could move kaidan had a tight grip on her wrist.
"No, it's to dangerous. I'm not taking the chance of losing you when I've just got you" she could see the fear in him but she knew she couldn't just sit around and wait for him.
"Your not going to lose me. I'll go and find the salarian counsellor you take care of the rest then meet me back here and we'll leave together. Okay?" Holding his face in her hands he slowly nodded.
"Okay, the salarian counsellor was last seen going to see the executor. Go there and see if you can find her. But please be careful and definitely with your biotics" nodding she gave him a kiss and they kissed as if this was goodbye. It gave scary thoughts to Gemma that something bad will happen.
Kaidan rushed out of the room and down the hall out of sight. Gemma was getting her armour on when her omni went off and it was Thane.
"Siha, are you alright? Cerberus is staging a coup and I wanted to make sure you was safe"
"I'm okay, Kaidan has been ordered to evacuate the council but the salarian counsellor is missing so I'm going to find her, where are you? Are you safe?" She could see he was out of breathe and was held up in the tight spot.
"I'm alright, but Cerberus is trying to get into the hospital, I'll meet you to help find the salarian counsellor. Give me the nav point and I'll try and contact the Normandy"
"Thane you'll get hurt, I'll be fine. And Shepard is meant to be meeting the salarian counsellor, so she must soon be in contact range" Gemma had gotten to the elevator but they were shut down so she was now running as fast as she can down flight after flight of stairs.
"Gemma I want you to be safe and I'm not planning on dieing today, not by Cerberus anyway. I'll let you know if I contact Shepard and will tell her where to go, it looks like Cerberus has taken over C-sec so I'll try and get the warning out" Thane had easily killed the Cerberus agents and was heading to the zakara ward to find Bailey.
"Alright, I'll send you the nav point but I swear to God Thane if you die. I'm going to kill you"
"But I'll already be dead" she could hear the sarcasm in his voice.
"Oh very funny" she hung up and started to head to the presidum.
Kaidan stopped by Huerta to make sure everyone was okay but he saw Thane killing six Cerberus agents in less then five seconds.
"Thane, you alright?" He ran over to the hunched over and heavy breathing Drell. It toke a moment for Thane to catch his breathe and fully stand up straight.
"Yeah I'm okay Major. I've talked to Gemma she said your on your way to the take care of the council. I'm on my way to C-sec to take back the station and try to find Captain Bailey"
"Yeah I've been ordered there to get them off the station. Then I'm coming back for Gemma. I really didn't want to leave her but she's insisting to find the salarian counsellor" he could tell Thane was trying to hold back the smirk since they both know there isn't stopping Gemma when she's adamant about doing something.
"Have you been able to get into contact with Shepard. I'm trying but the comms are down"
"No, I actually totally forgot Udina told me she was coming. I can't stop Thane, I need to get going, I wanted to check in on the hospital and did think I would find you there"
"The hospital Is alright. I killed the agents trying to get in. C-sec arrived to evacuate everyone, I'll let you go Major, good luck and I'll try get through to the Normandy and will warn any incoming ships if I can" Kaidan patted him on the shoulder and went off again towards the council.
Thane was right by the wards when a group of agents saw him and started shooting. He was tired and out of breathe, but he knew he needed to keep going so got locked his pistol into place to with three headshots they were down. He sat back against the fish store which had seen much better days and wasnt fully rebuild even after Sovereigns attack.
"This is the SSV Normandy, is there anyone on this channel. I repeat, anyone on this channel?" Thane knew straight away who's voice that was.
"Normandy this is Thane. Is Shepard there?" He would love to catch up with Joker but he was on a bit of a time crunch.
"Hey this is Joker. Hold on she's coming now" a second later, the familiar voice of the Commander came through.
"Thane what's the situation. We've been trying to get through but all comms are down"
"Yeah the Citadel is under attack by Cerberus they are trying to take the station and C-sec is all over the place"
Stood behind Joker was Commander Rihannon Shepard, she new Cerberus was being a pain in her arse but this is just pissing her off now.
"Alright. I'll get dropped off by C-secs shuttle station if Cerberus is after them that'll be where they are going to get in easiest. Are you safe and wheres kaidan?"
"I'm in a store front. If your going for C-sec. I'll find Gemma and help her and I was with Kaidan about 15 minutes ago but we got split up he has to get the rest of the Council off the station"
"Why isn't Gemma with Kaidan or somewhere safe, I'd heard about what Udina said about her Spectre training but surely shes not ready?" Last time shepard heard was what Thane was telling her but she just had her new implants in.
"She's trying to find the salarian counsellor, shes missing. I'm worried Gemma was insisting on going herself then Kaidan was coming back for her. I'll head over there"
Before she could talk again Thane hung up. "Joker move over to C-sec and we'll deploy in the shuttle"
"Aye, aye, but who's Gemma?" But shepard was already gone. Joker did always hate it when people could walk off and he could never hear them even in big heavy boots. But it is the Normandy after all.
Gemma was right outside the executors door when she heard gun shots go off. She kicks opens the door with her pistol in her hand and her biotics on the ready.
All she found was two dead salarians and a human who she guessed was the executor. She looked out of the window and didn't see anyone but thought she saw someone with black hair move but they're were very fast. Thinking it's her mind playing tricks she heads down towards the meeting rooms.
"Shepard the executors office is just up those stairs but we need to be quick" Garrus said from her six and liara following close behind checking for anyone to come behind them they might have missed.
"Thane said he'd be here and Gemma but I don't even know what she looks like"
"We'll she's human"
"Very helpful Liara" they carried on walking up the stairs but it was too quite so they picked their pace up.
Garrus and Liara went to each side of the door and Shepard kicks them in, but all they find is the body guards and the executor. She stands by the window looking until she see the salarian counsellor and a young girl talking.
"Garrus I have them. But still no Thane. Come on let's head down" before she knew it looking back she could see the salarian holding her hands up and the young girl and some other human holding guns to each other.
Gemma is stood gun on gun but with a damn counsellor in her way she can't get a clear shot. Then she hears a bullet but from above her and glass shattering. Shepard comes down her biotics steadying her as she pulls her gun out on the mysterious man. Soon Garrus and Liara join.
"Four on one buddy, put the gun down. It's over" Shepard says with such confidence it take Gemma off task for a moment as she realises she on Commander Shepards side holding guns to some weird dude with a sword.
"No. Now it's fun" the man says then holds his hand out to the salarian for a biotic blow right to the face. But Gemma puts a barrier between them all and then before she knows it Thanes standing behind him a gun to the his head.
They get into a fist fight. Thane was doing good but the man was very versatile and missed nearly every punch. Shepard drags the counsellor inbetween them for extra protection and everyone is trying to get a shot on the man but they is a chance Thane will get shot instead.
Thane punches the man with his biotics and picks his gun back up and then they are head on. Gun vs Knife. Gemma knew this man had more powerful biotics so she puts a barrier around Thane and the Sword snaps in half before it could touch Thanes body.
The man was gone again and this time got through Gemmas barrier and gave a full force throw at Thane throwing him across the room.
"THANE" Gemma shouted as the man got away and Shepard running after him bullets flying. Garrus and Liara stays to protect the councillor. Gemma picks Thane up with her biotics, she didn't care if it was starting to hurt her head, she needed him by her. He can't be dead.
"Thane?.. no no no. You said you wouldn't die god dammit. You aren't dieing on me not today" Shepard runs back over to them telling Bailey to get medical help for Thane.
There was silence for a minute but then Gemma started to glow purple. Shepard had never seen anything like it not even Liara had and she's 108 years old. Gemma didn't even notice, she had her head on Thanes rocking him. But then she felt his chest move.
"Thane?"
"Siha?" Before he could even move Gemma was on him hugging and kissing his cheeks, crying.
"You told me you wasn't going to die. Dammit you lied, your heart stopped"
"Hey I'm alright now. I'm back" Shepard had to pull Gemma off him so he could actually move and stand himself up.
"Shepard it's a good your here" he hugged Shepard but it wasnt time for hellos. They still had to find Kiadan and the rest of the council.
"Thane can you wait until medical helps arrives or do you need one of my guys to stay?"
"No, I'm actually alright. I'm not sure but I feel really alive then I have in months" Shepard did find that a little odd saying he could hardly catch his breathe 10 minutes ago.
"Alright come on, Bailey said our mystery man is trying to find the rest of the council"
"But Kiadan is with them I have to find him" Shepard fully faced Gemma now and this was the first time the two woman actually looked properly at each other.
"I'm guessing your Gemma. It's nice to meet you and all but don't you want to stay with Thane" Gemma really did want to but she needed to find Kaidan and fast. She looked over at Thane who was rubbing the dirt off himself.
"I'm alright Siha. Go, I'll wait for the medical to arrive and will contact you when I'm back at Huerta" she hugged Thane and started to run with the rest to the C-sec shuttle. The councillor was to stay with Thane until help arrived.
Well after a fun five minute shuttle flight with most of it with Shepard hanging out of the door then having the engine stabbed with the Ninjas sword, which Gemma now called him.
They've now got to fight more not just in a lift but on top of it. Garrus did his usual sniping and Liara a mix with her pistol and biotics and Shepard just going full force with Pulls and Throws knocking them off the roofs. They got to the Ninjas shuttle but was able to shoot down the motor on top.
They finally mad it to the councillors lift. Gemma jumped first and heard Kaidan shout 'get down' before 4 bullets come flying through the roof, she blocks them easily with her barrier.
"Dammit it Kaidan" but she knew he couldn't hear her.
"Charming isn't he" Shepard says as the rest jump on. They didn't have anymore trouble and soon the lift comes a slow stop.
Gemma is the last one out and had to catch up but as she gets through the doors. Shepard and Kaidan are locked on with guns.
"Stop, put your guns down" Gemma runs in the middle with her back to kaidan.
"Gemma, what is going on?" Kaidan asks as he lowers his gun.
"Udina is behind this attack. The salarian counsellor confirmed it" Shepard says as she lowers her own and commands the rest to do the same.
"Please you have no proof you never do" Udina walks over full with confidence like he owns the place. It made Gemma and Shepard both mad. But then Gemma understood it now.
"That's why you wanted me to join the Spectres. So you can hand me over to Cerberus since I'm a new generation of biotic. Well let me tell you this asshole, we aren't going anywhere with you so I suggest you surrender" Gemma was now inchs from Udinas face. Her biotics were dark blue and purple. But the strain started to get to her.
"I've had enough of this. I'm overriding the lock" everyone had the gun back on him now including Gemma.
"Gemma are you sure about this" Kaidan said with his gun still on Sheapard.
"Do you trust me, and with after what happened last night?" She knew she shouldn't say something like that but she didn't want Kaidan to have any doubts. She felt as if she was falling for him and needed his trust right now more then ever.
"I trust you more then anyone Gemma" as he says that he move from pointing at Shepard to pointing to Udina standing next to Gemma.
But Udina didn't care he started the bypass. Tevos the Asari counsellor walks over but Udina tries to push her away, Gemma's quick reflexes catches her with a barrier before she'd hit the floor. Then a second later Udina has his gun out and both Kiadan and Shepard shot right in harmony of each other, killing Udina instantly and his body falls motionless to the floor.
The doors open only to show Bailey and a officer next to him.
"Bailey, where did Cerberus go?" Shepard asks as everyone comes into a small huddle.
"They knew they were losing so they beated it out by the keeper tunnels. We'll track down only stragglers soon. I see you took care of things here"
"Yes shepard I owe you a doubt for my life and one on Palavan, and of course your crew" the Turian councillor said.
"Thank you councillor but times like this we need to stick together" as she finishes she looks over to Kiadan and Gemma whispering to each other. For some reason she wanted to know what happened the night before. She thought they were just friends and well is hoping they are.
"Babe are you alright" Kaidan asks as he pulls Gemma closer to him.
"Babe? That's new, but I kind of..." before she could finish she collapse into darkness..
