Chapter 5: Brown and Dark Yellow
Apparently the picnic started after the "Rebecca's food" incident. I took out my melon bread to share it with everyone, and of course, Wilhelmina's cabbage and shrimp dish was the tastiest and most highly demanded dish of all.
Yuji, as the only person who only dares to eat Rebecca's don't-know-if-it's-alive-or-not octopus, ate most of them, while Rebecca ate the rest.
Wilhelmina was looking at the scenery, one hand feeding Justus with some porridge. But not as he happily got it all over his clothes, which let Wilhelmina snap away from her view and leaving her frowning.
As we finished the most of the food, Rebecca yawned and prepared to have a good nap. When-
"Now I want to announce the main point we are having this meeting, ~de arimasu."Wilhelmina announced, putting her bowl of rice down. Rebecca scowled immediately, everyone knows she hates meetings more than anything in the world, especially ones that affected something that she's planning on.
"Main point," Tiamat said, her angelic sound still in place as usual. Rebecca then looked at Alastor for approval on not to start the meeting.
"Very well, go ahead," Alastor said as an approval for the discussion, ignoring her soundless pleading.
"Then I shall start now ~de arimasu," Wilhelmina said, as her expression suddenly became very serious. She cleared her throat. "A few days ago I sensed some distortion in this world ~de arimasu."
She scanned around us, looked on us and continued, "Did anyone of you sensed that ~de arimasuka?"
Silence followed and Yuji spoke. "Actually, , I did. It seemed that something was interrupted. I feel that something has been misplaced."
Huh? I moved and leaned towards Yuji, and of course blushing a bit. Speaking of it, I think I kinda like the feeling of blushing though...
"Well, it was... Uhm, how do I phrase this? Ugh-" Yuji stopped midway and clutched his stomach, clearly in pain. I was shocked, of course, and jumped. "Yuji!" I'm starting to panic, "what's happening?! Hey, Yuji! Yuji!"
I shook him. He just groaned and finally collapsed to the ground, half unconscious, only his fingers are moving a bit to tell me he's still alive.
Tears streamed down my face, I've never faced such things before, how am I going to go at it? I feel myself going crazy, screaming out Yuji's name and keep on shaking him. I'm an idiot, I thought, I can't even protect the person that meant the most to me! I felt like fainting as my conscious starting to leave me.
"SHANA! GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!" Alastor commanded. It was what I needed, and I snapped back to reality immediately. He was right, I thought, I should quickly find the person behind all this…
But… what if something happened to Yuji? What if he died?!
No! Don't ever think about it! I looked at him again, he was still lying on the ground, fainted, probably overwhelmed by the pain that he is suffering, while Wilhelmina jumped over and performed the healing and restoration spell on him.
I took a deep breath and calmed down a little, for that is already enough for me to think, but my tears are still flowing.
I looked out the edge of my eye. Something's not feeling right, I thought. I should perform a check. Yuji's here, beside me; Wilhelmina's here, healing him; Justus is on the grass sleeping over all this racket while Rebecca … Wait! Where's Rebecca?!
I scanned the area and found her, leaning on a tree, an evil grin on her face that was of utmost unfamiliar. Rebecca that rascal! She should've sliced into a thousand pieces, doing this on Yuji!
The instant I thought of that, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. I flew into a rage and summoned the Nietono no Shana, a sword that I've won over during my first fight as a Flame Haze. I aimed my sword at her, my mind blank, full of sadness and hatred. I could almost feel my eyes flaming with the anger I had.
I screamed as I charged the sword, aiming it for her neck. Just when I was about to slice her and put an end to all this, she huffed and darted sideways and disappeared as I gasped at the abnormal speed she possessed.
The next second,I turned behind, startled as Rebecca was behind me as she aimed a flying kick at my back, triggering an explosion, the things she handled best, sending me vomiting blood and flying out a few metres.
Dazed and stunned by the impact with the ground, I felt that I was going to faint if I was a normal human, but I've been through more than that in the past year.
"Alastor, did you see that?" I asked Alastor, just to make sure what I saw was not a deja vu, but something real.
"Yes, I did." he replied me, but that was enough information I'll need for now.
"What should we do now?" I asked him hurriedly, not wanting to miss the opportunity to defeat her.
"Fight her again, and see what we get. We'll see from her moves and spells. " he replied me."And most importantly," he continued, with a serious tone. "Observe her eye."
"Very well," I said, as I recovered myself from the attack, wiping off my tears and the blood stains as I tried to set the Nietono no Shana straight again. I wasn't in a good condition, but for Yuji, well, that's a whole different thing.
Wilhelmina was still treating Yuji, having a need to fully concentrate. Justus already woke up, and he had a serious face, like he was trying to concentrate on something as the Power of Existence that touched him faded away.
I charged at her, trying to feel the killing intent of myself towards her, and felt myself firing up. All I felt was the anger of me towards Rebecca.
The moment my sword reached her, she disappeared, again. I took that as a cue to turn behind, waiting for Rebecca's flying kick. Rebecca appeared behind me just as expected. In that split second, I looked into her eyes.
Yup, her eyes were not the ones of Rebecca. Rebecca had brownish eyes, but this one had brownish eyes all right, but they were engulfed in a darker yellow color. What is happening?!
I thought over it. In a split second, everything fits together like a jigsaw puzzle as I gasped over it. she's - !
And… I'm back! Hehe, sorry for not uploading the past week, cause my schedule was quite tight, having courses, writing articles and flying on planes. Anyways, I'm writing the story on paper first before uploading! That way, I can improve the story when I'm typing it in… (flying in my own imaginary world...)

Yawns*... Oh well, and I'm back at my hometown, so I'll quickly finish up chapter 7, since its quite important to the story and the way I write it will choose between the two plots I've made...
