Official Disclaimer
The characters of Steve McGarrett, Chin Ho Kelly, Kono Kalakaua, Adam 'Toast' Charles and anyone else within the story who might sound familiar do not belong to me in any shape or form, I am merely using them for my own entertainment purposes.
The character of Danni Williams could probably be considered mine by now. Although the character was originally based on male Danny Williams I think it's probably to say that she is now her own individual character. She has her own story and her own separate background now, a background and story which is different from male Danny's story. This also means that Grace is different as well since not only does she live full time with her mother but also because Danni and Duncan have a fairly civil relationship with each other. Grace's surname is also Taylor in this saga as Williams is Danni's maiden name while Taylor was her married name.
The characters of Special Agent Jack O'Connor, Ryan Moore, Wendy George, Trevor Ramsey and Dominic Ramsey do belong to me though.
I should also add that if a character is mentioned who you don't recognise from the show then they probably belong to me as well.

Chapter Six
To the Rescue
"I know that this is probably a stupid question but are you okay?"
Steve snorted at the comment, his eyes flickering towards Chin for a second before he focused his attention back on the road, his thoughts whirling through his mind, making it hard to focus on anything, other than the thought that Danni needed him. Breathing out he opened his mouth to assure the other man that he was fine, but those words failed to emerge, surprising him even as he spoke.
"Tell me Chin how the hell did this actually happen? How did someone get the drop on them both? It just doesn't make sense, even with whoever took them going through the secret entrance they still shouldn't have managed to get the drop on them, something else must have happened" Steve growled lowly, his hands gripping the steering wheel tightly as he swerved through the traffic, his mind fixed on finding his partner before something terrible happened to her and to the Rookie, something which he would never forgive himself for. Danni should have been with him, he should have been in that house with her, protecting her six rather than Kono. Not that he doubted Kono's ability to keep his partner safe but it was his job and now Danni and Kono were both in danger and it was because of him and his inability to control his possessive feelings over Danni.
Steve growled again, well aware of Chin watching him from the passenger seat with a concerned look as though he knew the type of thoughts which were going through Steve's mind, his hands grabbing at the side of his chair to steady himself though he had remained silent, clearly understanding that Steve's reply to his question wasn't one which required an answer from him but rather a way for Steve to get out his pent up emotion before they took over, something which Steve was thankful for.
He glanced towards his cell phone when it suddenly burst into life, taking one hand away from the wheel briefly and hitting the connect button, placing it on loudspeaker before he spoke.
"Toast, tell me you're calling because you've got something." Steve demanded, not bothering with any pleasantries. There would be time enough for them later once Danni and Kono were back with them.
"I think so, I've just got off the phone with CSU and they've run the fingerprints which the team picked up from the house, looks like whoever took Blondie and K weren't being as careful as they have been before because they found fingerprints for Trevor and Dominic Ramsey, two brothers who are originally from Texas and who have no link to Wendy George, meaning that their fingerprints shouldn't be anywhere near her house. Not only that, but both of them are over six-foot-tall which could match the height in the videos of the guy following the group at the Comic Con."
"Good job with that Toast" Chin said, interjecting himself into the conversation smoothly. "What have you found out about these brothers then?"
"Both of them are currently in their twenties, Trevor is the eldest on out of the pair at twenty-five while Dominic is two years younger. Both of them have a rap sheet for several robberies and assaults which they tended to commit while wearing, as one cop put it, bizarre costumes, the kind of costumes that I'm guessing would look more at home in a comic con setting. They've moved around a bit, changing their names as they went and strangely enough in every area they've been, there is also a strange death listed there. Any time a Police Detective actually figured out they were connected they had both already moved on to a different area." Toast stated.
"What do you mean exactly when you say there were strange deaths in the area? What about them made them strange?" Chin asked, frowning lightly.
"Strange in the way that whoever committed the murders seemed to base them on classic horror films, you know the hammer films like the old Dracula?" Toast answered promptly. "The bodies were also dressed up to reflect the chosen film as well. It seems like they put in a lot of effort in the makeup and costumes for the staging." Toast answered him, a thread of uneasiness coming to his voice.
"Tell me that you have an address from them." Steve demanded, cutting across the conversation between Chin and Toast.
"Yeah of course Boss, I wouldn't have rung you without it, according to their records they are currently renting out 154 Barnaba street, Jack had a quick look at the blue prints and the place it has a basement to it. If I was a psycho who was obsessed with old horror films then I would bring whoever it was back to my basement to kill them there, you know so that it has a Frankenstein sort of feel to it."
Steve hit the disconnect button without another word, twisting the steering wheel in his hands and performing a sharp U-turn, stepping his foot down on the pedal and ignoring the sharp, angry beeps they received from the other drivers for the action.
"Chin, call SWAT and tell them to get their asses to that address now, I don't care what they are in the middle of doing, tell them that Danni and Kono are in danger and that we need them. Tell them that sirens and lights are out on the approach, the last thing that we want to do is alert the bastards that we're coming for them, if they thing we're coming then it might force their hands into doing something reckless. Let them continue to think that they have the upper hand and all the time in the world to act." Steve instructed the older native, who shot him a quick searching look before he simply nodded, reaching into his pocket and took out his own cell phone, scrolling through it before hitting the call button and bringing it to his ear.
It took them fifteen minutes to reach the address Toast had given them. They had just parked up and jumped up when the SWAT van approached them silently, the team pouring out the back, armed to the teeth and clearly ready to go to if the grim looks on their faces were any indication to go by. Normally, the looks would have caused him to smile, knowing that it was there due to the fact that it was because Danni and Kono who were taken and in danger, but the smile was missing as he began to give them instructions.
"Half of you take the back, the rest of the team and Chin you're with me, we're going through the front of the house. Any questions?" He demanded, his eyes flickering over the face once before he nodded, pulling out his gun and quickly checking it before he headed swiftly towards the house, stopping outside the front door. He scanned it for a second, checking for wires before reaching forward and trying the handle, surprised when it opened easily. Glancing once over his shoulder to make sure the team was ready before they moved through the house, checking each of the rooms until they came to a stop outside a door with a sliver of light shining from underneath, no doubt this was the basement which Toast had mentioned
He held up three fingers to the others who had fallen into place behind him, dropping them one by one before he twisted back and kicked the door open, leading the way down the narrow stairs with his gun held up. His eyes swept the room, landing on the man standing above his struggling, tied up partner with a stake heading directly towards her heart.
"NOOOOOOOO" He roared as he squeezed the trigger, watching as his bullet tore through the man's shoulder, the force of the impact sending him crashing away from Danni and into the side of the other metal slab when Steve could see Kono sitting up on, a murderous look on her face.
He moved away from the stairs, his eyes fixed on the remaining threat, the other brother who was staring down at his moaning sibling before his eyes focused on Steve through the mask with a look of pure rage and hatred.
"You shot my brother you bastard." He screamed, twisting around on the spot and reaching for something behind him. Whatever it was though was unknown a Kono's fist connected hard with his temple, dropping him as though he was a rock. She groaned out loud, as though the action had pained her, one hand coming up to grip at her head.
Steve glanced at Chin, nodding his head towards Kono before he moved towards Danni, leaning over her, his eyes frantically moving over her pale face.
"Danni" He murmured, feeling almost lightheaded from relief.
"I'm fine Steve, thanks for the timely rescue" She managed to say huskily, the remark causing him to smile as he reached out and touched her face, gently trailing his fingertips down her cheek to rest on her neck, frowning at the touch of dried blood.
"I thought that you said that you hated when people said that they were fine when they clearly were anything but fine?" He commented, his voice coming out hoarsely as he met her grey eye thankful to see them staring back at him. If he had been a moment later than he would have lost her for good.
It was a thought which he couldn't even think about without feeling physically sick.
"You know, a girl is allowed to change a mind if she wants to Steve." She pointed out before she shivered, swallowing hard, her eyes moving around her for a second before she focused back on Steve. "Please untie me" She asked him, her face flushing bright pink. Steve blinked at the comment, looking down and realising that the top of her dress had been unbuttoned and spread open, revealing her upper body and her lacy red bra to anyone who looked over at her.
He nodded instantly, reaching into one of the pockets of his cargo pants and pulling out the knife he kept in there, flicking it open and swiftly cutting through the ropes, his eyes focused on Chin who had grabbed the brother who Kono had knocked out towards one of the EMTS who had just arrived. Another team were stabilising the brother who Steve had shot. Each brother had two members of the SWAT team allocated to them, their guns pointed at them, clearly ready to shoot them if they tried anything.
Steve cut the last rope, moving into a position where he would hide Danni from anyone's gaze, pushing the rope off on her and helping her sit up.
"I've got you" He murmured to her, burying his nose into her hair for a moment, his arm tightening around her shoulder as she unsteadily buttoned her dress back up. A look towards Kono showed that Chin, having dumped off the second brother, had re-joined her and was speaking quietly to her, whatever he was saying was causing Kono to nod at him, though Steve could see the groggy look on her face which hinted at a concussion. She glanced up at him, noticing his gaze and have him a grin.
"You and Chin have great timing boss." She stated.
"You're both going to get checked out by a paramedic before anything else and I don't want to hear any argument from either of you." Steve replied firmly, tightening his grip on Danni as she shuffled slowly to the edge of the slab, her legs hanging over as though she was bracing herself.
"I think that you're confusing Danni and I with the way you act when you're injured boss, everyone knows that you're the one who refuses medical aid when it's needed, not us." Kono stated, an amused tone to her voice which Steve was thankful to hear.
"Can either of you remember exactly what happened and how you ended up here?" Chin asked, his dark eyes flickering between Kono and Danni thoughtfully.
"It's all a bit hazy" Kono admitted. "From what I remember we were checking out the rooms after the initial clearing of the house. I was in the computer room one minute and the next thing I know I'm here" She reached up and touched the back of her neck, visibly wincing at the action.
"Danni?" Chin prompted, turning to the blond.
"I was in the kitchen on the phone to Toast when I heard a thumping sound, like something had fallen. I went to check it out and found Kono on the floor unconscious behind the desk. I was going to ring it in when I think I heard a noise from behind me and then something must have hit me though God knows what it was." She said, leaning her head against Steve's shoulder as though she was struggling keeping it up.
"It wouldn't surprise me if they had hit us with a baseball bat considering how much my head is killing me right now." Kono stated with another wince, looking towards Chin when he spoke.
"Welcome to your first on the job concussion Cuz" He commented with a smirk though his eyes remained watchful something Steve couldn't blame him for. He knew that from Kono's records that she had been hurt before while she had been on the surfing circuit but as far as he knew this was the first time, she had suffered from a head injury of any kind. His eyes flickered to Chin when the other man continued to speak, a serious tone to his voice. "Make sure that you tell us if you're experiencing any sign of nausea or blurred vision, the EMTs will be free soon, otherwise I'll call your mother and set her on you."
"I'm suffering from both those things Chin" Kono replied with a groan. "You know it wouldn't kill you to be slightly more sympathetic towards me." She pointed out grumpily, the remarked causing Chin to grin at her. "What about you Danni? You feeling as bad as I am?" She asked turning to the other woman who was remaining suspiciously quiet.
"I've felt better that's for sure." Danni replied after a moment, a sigh escaping her.
"Where is Danni's abuse and ribbing from you boss?" Kono demanded.
"It can wait." Steve answered absently, his focus fixed on Danni as she pushed away from him, her hands gripping the side of the slab.
"Nice Kono" She said dryly before taking a deep breath before she slowly climbed off the table, cursing when her legs gave way sending her to the ground with a painful sounding thump. "Damnit it, forget about them using baseball bats, I think that they used concrete bats to hit us Kono" She said, reaching up and gripping the side of the slab again, clearly bracing herself for pain.
Steve growled under his breathe at her stubbornness as he reached down and gently picked her up in his arms, holding her in a princess hold, her head resting against his shoulder as he ignored her weak struggle and the sound of outrage she made.
"Stop struggling Danni unless you want to make your head worse than it already is." He growled at her, thankful that she listened and stopped struggling.
"Okay so maybe standing under my own steam is a little off the cards right now." She told him, her face looking almost grey under the dim lights.
"I could have told you that for free." Steve told her.
"We're ready for your teammates Commander." The paramedic who had been stabilising the man who Steve had shot said, cutting off any reply Danni might have given him. "If you could carry Detective Williams up the stairs then we would appreciate it, the staircase is too narrow to get a gurney down here but we have some set up waiting up there."
"Understood" Steve said with a nod as he headed up the stairs, glancing over his shoulders in time to see Chin pick Kono up in a similar hold. He looked down at Danni, frowning in concern when he realised that she was struggling to stay awake. The last thing the team needed was to be down two members. "Chin, call Jack and get him down here to supervise what's going on here. I'm going with Danni in the ambulance," He called out to Chin.
"Got it Steve, I'll text him on the way to the hospital and let him know, I'm going to ride in with Kono as well." Chin answered back.
Steve nodded as he placed Danni on the gurney, stepping back and allowing the EMTS work on her before they began pushing the gurney towards one of the waiting ambulances. Steve watched as they loaded her into it, ignoring her faint assurances that she was fine and didn't need to go to the hospital.
"Are you coming Commander because if you are then we need to go now." The same Paramedic said with a questioning look, one of his hands curled around the ambulance door, clearly ready to slam it shut, with Steve or without him.
"I'm coming" Steve agreed, climbing in and settling himself in the chair the paramedic indicated, his hand automatically finding Danni's and squeezing on it, watching her still face and noting that the colour of her skin matched the white pillow beneath her. Breathing out, he held on tightly and found himself beginning to pray for the first time in years.
