Chapter 6

Niivens McTwisp was certainly nervous. He had once again returned to above ground. He hides at the moment in the rose bushes. Men and woman were all out looking for a lost woman. He assumed that they were searching for Rin. Finally around the corner came Alice, he smiled to himself. Reaching out a paw carefully he tugged on her long skirt.

Alice turned her head slightly and peered down when she felt her skirt tugged on. A smile crossed her face when she spotted the white rabbit. Kneeling down she spoke to it softly. " i assume you know where my daughter is Nivens?"

He was surprised to see that she remembered who he was. he nodded his head and motioned for her to follow. With a soft sigh Alice stands back up, looking around she quickly follows after the white rabbit. Once again he races a head and leads her to a large rabbit hole. Jumping down into it Alice follows after him. She closes her eyes as she falls and lands after a time on the bottom. Opening her eyes she discovers that once again she is on the roof and lands on the floor. Rising to her feet she grabs the key and the bottle and walks to the small door. Drinking it's contents she shrinks and unlocking the door walks through it.

Her eyes adjust to the setting sun and she spots a white horse waiting for her, next to it stands Nivens. Walking to the horse she climbs on top of it and pulls Nivens up in front of her. "I assume we are to see the white queen?"

"Yes," he replys quietly.

With that the horse takes off quickly racing towards Mamoreal. Time seems to fly by and just as her legs grow tired from riding they stop at the gates. Climbing off the horse and helping Nivens down they slowly enter the castle.

Meanwhile...

Tarrent and Rin walk along the hall heading towards the throne room. it had been a few days since they arrived and Mirana had requested their presence. They entered slowly talking quietly between themselves. As they neared Mirana she beckoned to them. Near her were three chairs she motioned for them to sit and as they did the doors to the throne room opened again. In walked Nivens and behind them to Rin's surprise was her mother. A smile crossed her lips and she glanced at Tarrent.

Tarrent stood and fumbled with his hands he knew the woman that walked in and he was nervous. He had always liked her but he felt something more for her daughter. Alice smiled gently at him and walked up to Mirana. "I see my daughter is here as well as the hatter. What is it that is required of me, your majesty?"

Mirana smiled, "I just wanted you to return home to us is all Alice."

Alice smiles and walks over to the hatter who is now muttering to himself taking his hand in hers she calls out to him. He stops mumbling and smiles up at her. "Hello hatter it is good to see you once again, I'm sorry I'm late."

"You didn't forget about me?"

"No never in fact I told Rin all about you my dear."

He smiles up at her and she realizes that he keeps stealing glances at Rin, she chuckles lightly as she turns to her daughter. "I thought I told you to be careful so you would not fall down."

Without a word Rin gets to her feet and hugs her mother gently. "I missed you."

"Yes but you may have been here for days up there it has been about half an hour when I last saw you."

Rin wipes the tears from her face and sits back down as Alice takes her seat. "So Mirana, what has happened."

"You know me too well Alice. As matters are my sister Iracebeth and her knave Stayne have returned to Underland. Again we are at war, and only a champion can save us," she replied.

"I'm afraid I may be a little too old to be a champion," Alice replys.

"Not you my dear, Rin will be our champion. Like I said a moment ago we just wanted you to come home."

Rin looked up at Mirana, "me a champion."

"Of course it is your destiny."

Alice simply smiled and shook her head "at least the Jabberwocky is dead."

"Was dead, not anymore;" Mirana replied slowly.

"What do you mean was dead," Alice asked.

After twenty years of peace the Jabberwocky rose from it's ashes and was born a new. We have no idea how it was able to do such a thing. Rin sat back listening and thought very hard. "I know of a creature who rises from it's own ashes what was it again," she thought.

Without a fear Rin rises to her feet. "I shall go to the Jabberwocky and deal with it."

"Please Rin don't," Alice starts.

Walking from the room without a word Rin thinks to herself as she heads towards her room. Tarrent rises to his feet and quickly follows after Rin trying to get her to realize that she was being foolish. She smiles up at him when she reaches her room entering it she closes the door behind her to be left alone.

With a sad look on his face Tarrent turns around again and heads back to the throne room. Mirana and Alice both look up as he enters and let out a sigh. Rin is going to be difficult they all think. Night comes quickly and as the castle grows quite a lone person sneaks down the railing of their balcony. Dressed in dark pants and a shirt that clings to their slender frame, she moves the hair from her eyes. Something inside her tells her she must see the Jabberwocky to free it. She hurrys off and is followed by the bandersnatch. With a soft sigh she climbs upon it's back, leaning forward to whisper in it's ear. "Take me to the Jabberwocky."

With a dash they are off and racing.
