"I just wanna know what happened to my kid and someone better damn well start talking!" Bobby Singer rages as he stands in principal Alistair's office.
Dean leans against the wall, called out of class for the family matter, and Charlie sits in the chair across from her principal, holding an ice pack to her face.
Principal Alastair licks his old chapped lips, and then forces them into a sneer. The man has a long face like a horse and a slithery voice like a snake. As far as anyone knew no one had ever had a civil meeting with the man, it was as if he took this job specifically to torture the poor souls trapped in the high school. He had a way about him of picking at your greatest insecurity and tearing it apart into you broke down, and it seemed he hired teachers who held the same ideals.
"Mr. Singer," he begins in his voice that can only be described as creepy. "I can guarantee you that if your daughter was hurt-"
"There ain't no damn if about it, Alastair!" Bobby interrupts him.
"It was not by any student in my school." Alistair continues as if Bobby had not said anything. "The girl probably hurt herself for attention."
"Oh that's a load of crap and you know it!" Dean finally cuts in, pushing himself away from the wall and walking over to his sister. "Why the hell would she do that?"
"Well, Dean Winchester, how would you like to live in a house with you? How many times this year alone have you been in this office?"
"This isn't about me Alastair."
"Oh but that's the thing, Dean Winchester, everything is about you, isn't it? Probably why this one needed some attention from her father. Or have you forgotten he's not actually yours?"
"Hey!" Bobby fumes, suddenly getting a lot closer to Alastair. "Don't you dare ever say he ain't mine! He and his brother are my boys, I'd die for 'em any day!"
"But just because you've adopted two boys, Bobby Singer, does not make them yours. Their daddy was old John Winchester." Dean straightens at the mention of his father's name. "Oh that's right, daddy's little soldier right? You know how disappointed he would be with you for going out and getting a new daddy just because he died?"
Before Dean and Bobby have the chance to lose their heads even further, Charlie stands.
"Dad, I'm fine." She tells Bobby. "I ran into a door trying to make it to class."
"Like hell you did, this was Bela!" Dean objects, getting Bobby's attention.
"Bela? Like hates-your-guts Bela?"
"No, Bobby, the other one."
"I never liked her. Now she's hurting my daughter? Well no way that's going to fly with me."
"Dad, it wasn't Bela. I promise you I ran into a door." Bobby hesitates as Charlie pleads with him. Dean watches the sudden silent moment and drops his jaw.
"Bobby, she's lying! Tell me you aren't buying her crap!"
"If she says it wasn't Bela than I believe her." Bobby decides.
"Bobby-"
"Enough Dean, drop it." Bobby heads to the door of the office, but Dean grabs his shoulder.
"Bobby, please don't buy this. Can't you see she's being bullied?"
"I believe my kids, Dean." Dean opens his mouth again but suddenly shuts it. "Fine." He finally says, defeated and turning back to Charlie.
"We'll buy your crap about the door this time but the next time you show up with a single scratch-"
"You'll pick a fight with the wall?" Dean clenches his jaw and then spins around out the door.
Charlie rejoins Anna in class, who jumps when she sees her.
"Charlie, are you alright?" Charlie calms her friend and sits quietly beside her.
"I'm alright for now, but we gotta do something."
"What are we going to do?"
"I don't know. I thought we could handle this but Dean is going to be more on our case than ever and I don't know how to handle it."
"Leave Dean to me. If we can get him off our case, Bela won't be so hard to take care of." Her sudden confidence in the matter worried Charlie a little, but she didn't have time to worry about it.
At the end of the day they all meet around the cars, and Dean is glaring at his little sister and her friend.
"You two," he begins as he sees them, but Anna throws an arm around Castiel before he can continue.
"Cas, do you want to go out for ice cream?" She asks him.
"I don't really like-"
"Of course you do." Anna turns her big eyes on Dean. "Dean, Cas really want to go get some ice cream. Do you think you could take us?"
"Gabriel can-" Dean starts, but his sister cuts him off.
"Dean we wanna go with just you! You and Castiel. We don't want to be around Gabe and Sam today." Gabriel and Sam, who have been making out against Gabe's car, both pull away from each other and look at her.
"I take offense to that." Sam says, looking really jumpy.
"I take offense to you not kissing me." Gabriel tells him, pulling him close again.
"See? And Balthazar will just flirt with me, despite my constantly telling him I'm not interested."
"Love, I'm interested enough for the both of us." Balthazar adds jokingly, drinking from his flask.
"And no one wants to be around Lucifer."
"Aw, you're just hurting my feelings." Lucifer says as he throws balled up paper at Sam and Gabriel.
"So, see Dean, it has to be you." Charlie concludes. Dean sighs and nods toward the impala.
"Gabriel, you take Sammy home later, you hear me?" Without breaking their kiss, Gabriel throws his hand into the air as agreement as the three freshmen crawl into the impala.
They arrive at the ice cream place and sit down.
"What's the plan?" Charlie whispers in Anna's ear. "This isn't exactly getting rid of him."
"Relax, follow my lead." Anna turns back to Dean, who is nervously looking at Castiel. "Be right back." She tells him, casually standing up and reaching for her purse.
"Woah, woah, woah." Dean stops her. "Where do you think you're going?"
"Relax, Dean, Charlie and I are just going to the bathroom. We'll be back soon, unless you'd like to come in there with us."
Dean's face turns red."No, that's fine. Just hurry up."
Charlie and Anna head to the bathroom, where Anna opens up the window and starts crawling out.
"Uh, Anna, he's going to know we left."
"But he's never been alone with Castiel like this, I mean they aren't officially dating yet or anything. One, he's not going to be thinking about us, and two, if he is he isn't going to run out on him like that. Don't worry about it, just take the trouble later."
"God you're cool!" Charlie whispers in awe of her best friend as she follows her out the window.
The two girls sneak out and walk to the other side of the building.
"So what's the plan?" Charlie asks her partner in crime?
"Kill her?"
"We can't do that."
"Oh, okay, well then, dig up dirt on her." It seemed that had been Anna's plan the whole time. "Use what we have at our disposal: a seriously freakishly talented computer nerd. Find out all we can about her. Use it against her."
"That could work."
"I know. I'm a genius."
The next day all the girls in the school are snickering to each other over the news exposed to them all that morning. All around the school mysterious flyers of bright colors caught their attention, revealing secrets about someone they all thought they knew pretty well, had even feared the day before.
From down the hall, Charlie and Anna hear a horrified scream.
"Sounds like shit just went down." Charlie remarks with mock innocence.
"I wonder what could have happened."
Suddenly someone is running down the hall in anger toward them, but there is no fear anymore.
"Good morning Abby." Charlie greets Bela.
"That's not my fucking name do not call me that!" The girl is in a panic, to the upmost amusement of Charlie and Anna. "And I'm going to kill you both."
"Like you killed your parents?" Charlie asks, making Bela's eyes go wild.
"How dare you print these lies about me?! I didn't kill my parents! How would I have even done that? They died in a car accident!"
"Right." Anna says sarcastically.
"How could you think I killed them?"
Charlie shrugs. "Maybe I found a police report saying the brakes had been cut. Maybe I made it up. I forget."
"That's heartless!"
"At least we aren't thieves!"
"Yeah, no one actually believes you killed your parents, but god Bela you've been busted for shoplifting twelve times!" Anna contributes.
"And that's just when you've been caught god only knows what else you've taken." Charlie says smugly.
"Charlie Singer, I'm going to end you." Bela backs away slowly, glaring at them the whole time.
"Uh-huh, good luck without your lackeys." Charlie calls after she's gone.
The two girls snicker and head to class.
After school Charlie and Anna walk to their brothers car when suddenly Charlie is grabbed from behind.
"I told you I was going to get you you little red-headed bitch!" Bela hisses in her ear as she twists her arms behind her. "And now I'm going to-"
Bela is suddenly violently ripped from Charlie, so hard is nearly pulls Charlie's arms out of their sockets. Charlie spins around quickly only to see her big brother, Sam, holding her against the school wall, suspended off the ground. There has never been so much fear in Bela's eyes as Sam glares at her, inching closer to her.
"If you ever come near my sister again," he says in a deep gravely voice. "I'll break your skull."
He drops her onto the ground, coughing for breath and clutching her neck where he held her. Sam calmly walks to the car, ignoring the looks his brother and sister give him.
"Did you see that?" Gabriel asks Dean, looking concerned.
Dean clenches his jaw and turns toward the impala. "Yeah I saw, Charlie get in we're going."
The Winchesters and Charlie drive off, trying to fight the feeling that they may have a bigger problem with Sam after all.
