Second chapter in two days! I'm actually really enjoying writing this story. This set of characters are real fun to play with!

I'm still uploading from my iPad so remember if there are any grammar/formatting issues that is why and if it is unreadable due to these let me know and I'll do my best to change it asap.

I hope you enjoy this chapter.

My stomach dropped, my cheeks drained of colour and my mouth became dry. This could not be happening. The star quarterback for the New York Jets that had rejected me a few weeks ago was not here. I have to be imagining that I can hear his voice. I pressed my eyes closed and head my breath as I slowly turned around. His arms still held tightly onto my waist holding me steady. My heart was pounding against my chest, I'm pretty sure it is trying to break through my rib cage and runaway incase it gets broken by this guy again… Which of course it will.

Slowly I opened my eyes and peaked up at the gorgeous man standing before me. His eyes were fixed on my face. "If I move my hands from your waist, are you going to fall over?" He questioned humour lacing each word.
I flushed a shade of pink, at least the blood is flowing again, "I think I'll be fine." I replied "like I said, there was something on the floor… And I tripped."
Emmett chuckled lightly and shook his head slightly before. "You don't look like you'll be fine, you're an odd shade of grey mixed with pink… Here, come sit down." He laced his fingers with mine and lead me a few meters to a free sofa.

I sat down on the edge of the sofa, and pulled my hand free of his. I knotted my fingers together in my lap and kept my eyes fixed on them, I couldn't bring myself to look at him again. Memories of his angry face from the night he rejected me flooded my head and they stung with embarrassment. I caught sight of some shoes approaching the sofa and then retreating almost immediately.
"Here, drink this," Emmett handed me a glass of ice cold water "it will make you feel better."
I took the glass off of him, but did not look at his face. "Thanks." I mumbled, taking a giant sip of the liquid. My heart was still pounding.

"Are you ever going to look at me?" He questioned, sitting on the sofa next to me. I pressed my eyes tightly together, sucked in a deep breath and reopened my eyes, searching for those gorgeous blue eyes of his. "Hi." Emmett spoke, with a grin spreading across his lips.
"Hi."
"I want you to know I'm sorry… about that night. How I acted. I was an asshole. It just took me by surprise ya know? I mean, damn you're a gorgeous girl. I just assumed… And yeah, I'm sorry. I tried to contact you the next day to apologise, but Jonno wouldn't give me your company name and I never got your cell number." He kept his eyes focused on mine through his entire speech and I felt that he really meant it, he really looked sorry!
"I shouldn't have let it go that far," I replied, taking another sip of water. "I should have known a guy like you wouldn't want a girl like me."
Emmett frowned, "A guy like me?"
I nodded, taking another sip of water before placing it on the small table in front of the sofa. "Yeah… A good looking famous quarterback." I blushed a deep crimson colour again. Now that I had looked at him, I found it almost impossible to look away. His eyes were so mesmerising and he never dropped my gaze either.

If I didn't know already that he want me, I would swear that he liked me. He is just being polite, Isabella.
"Uh thanks for the water… And catching me when I tripped... But I have to go. My friends will be wondering where I am." I stood up and he immediately followed. He was so tall and oh so very broad. My eyes drank in the sight of him. Remember how just his hands had made you feel. Ohh...
"Oh, sure." Emmett replied, "it was good to see you Bella. You still look amazing." He moved forward to hug me. I drank in his smell, enjoying the feeling of his strong hard body pressed against mine. He thinks I still look amazing? Does he actually fancy me? No you fool, he's just being nice – trying to correct his karma from last time. "Uh, just out of curiosity, what is your company name?"
I frowned as I moved away from him, he obviously wants you to plan his next party, "Events House, Seattle." And with that I headed back towards Ange and the guys.

"Hey are you ok? You don't look well." Eric pointed out as I approached the table.
"I don't feel well. I think I'm going to head home. You guys stay here, have fun."
Angela stood up, eyeing me with concern. "Don't be silly. I'll come with you. The boys were talking about heading home to play play station anyway, weren't you?" She really was the best friend.
Ben and Eric nodded eagerly, "Yeah! Eric just got the new COD!" I smiled politely at them, pretending to have a clue of what COD was. I felt bad for bailing on them but after seeing Emmett again, I just needed to be alone. And cry.

The guys walked us down to the city streets and hailed us a cab. Despite the sun having set awhile ago, the street was still busy. Girls dressed in next to nothing, guys following them; eyeing them up, swarmed everywhere. We said our goodbyes and Angela and I headed home.

...

I filled Ange in on the Emmett situation during the ride home. Of course she was the doting best friend and commented on how much of a jerk he is and he was clearly feeling guilty because he seen how gorgeous I was and was regretting his attitude last time.

That wasn't the case at all, but it was sweet of her to try, during the ride home I had realised Emmett had apologised to me hoping to stop me selling a story to the press. Until then, it had never even crossed my mind. But it made sense now.

Once we were home, I said my goodnight and headed into my bedroom. I managed to tie my hair into a messy topknot, change into my pyjamas and take off my make up before collapsing into bed and sobbing over Emmett McCarty once again.

All I did was talk to him. He said sorry. I left. Why has he had this affect on me? Its not even like we were dating! Hell I blew off a totally nice guy because of him. I made a mental note to text Eric and rearrange another date in the morning before letting the tears carry me into a slumber. Tonight would be the last time I ever cried over Emmett McCarty.

It was a fling gone wrong.
Start acting like a normal teenage girl and move the fuck on.

...

The unpleasant sound of the alarm woke me from my dream of reliving that night again with Emmett and what might have happened if I hadn't been a virgin. I was not feeling work today, but I knew if I was going to get over this one night stand gone wrong, I was going to have to go to work and face the world. I did the usual routine of showering, dressing, drinking coffee and driving myself and Ange to the office.

Jessica was in the office today, back from her most recent business trip to Las Vegas. Despite it being only five to nine, she was already on the phone to a client when we entered. She signaled us a hello as we passed and motioned to give her 2 mins. Angela stored our bags in the cupboard and I tapped out a text to Eric while I waited.

I am sorry about last nite. Fancy going 2 the movies soon? Bella. X
I hit send and shoved my phone into the pocket of my skinny jeans.

"Hey girlfriends, what's up?" Jessica called when she hung up the phone.
"Hey Jess, how was Vegas?" I asked, switching on the MAC and taking a seat in front of it.
"Lots of party's, drinking, sex, drugs, you know. Same old." She giggled, flipping her brunette hair over her shoulder, it had streaks of blonde running through it from the desert sun. I missed desert heat and weather.
Angela rejoined us holding – very carefully – three cups of coffee, one decaf for Jess and two regular for is. I accepted it gratefully. "Thanks Ange!"
We chatted about Jess and Vegas some more and I filled her in about my date before we got onto actually working. Maybe of day Ange and I could travel to every state with Jess taking pictures of the parties she planned, but I strongly doubted that. Angela and myself worked together, searching the web for theme specific decorations for an upcoming party. Who knew an Alice in Wonderland themed party would be so tricky! Though honestly, I was glad for the distraction. Being busy meant that I didn't have time to think about a certain quarterback.

Hours passed and before we knew it, it was almost lunch. Seen as Jess was back we all agreed to go to the Cheese Cake a Factory to celebrate. Right as we were about to leave a delivery man arrived carrying three enormous bouquets of flowers, the poor man could barely carry them all and see over the top.
"Here, let me help." Angela said, sprinting across the small space to take a bouquet off of him before he knocked everything off of the counter top with them.
"Thanks." He huffed, placing the other two down carefully.
Jessica squeed next to me, bouncing up and down. "I love it when clients randomly send us thank you flowers!"
The delivery man fished out some paperwork out of his satchel along with a card. He turned towards Angela who was smelling the flowers in her arms. "'Scuse me miss, are you Bella?"
Ange shook her head and nodded towards me. "That's her." I could feel the disappointment radiating off of Jessica.
"I need you to sign here, here and here." He directed motioning towards his paperwork.

Eh? Three bouquets of flowers? For me?

I moved forward cautiously, scribbling my signature where he pointed. "Who are they from?"
"I dunno miss. I just deliver 'em. Here you go." He handed over the pale green card "Have a good day!" He called as he left.

All three of us stared at the gigantic bouquets of flowers. One was of white and red roses, one was of pure white Lily's and the final one was a mix of beautiful flowers in a variety of colours.
"Open the card!" Jessica directed.
I frowned as I carefully pulled open the envelope and slid out the card.

Bella,
I didn't know what your favourite flowers are, so I took three guesses.

You looked beautiful last night.

My mouth dropped open as I stared at the manly scrawl on the card. Oh. My. Goodness.

"Well…?" Jessica encouraged.
"Uhh... They are from… Eric. Yeah Eric. I wasn't feeling well last night and he sent me get well flowers." Angela eyed me suspiciously, but said nothing.
Jessica crooked and eyebrow, "A guy you went on one date with, and didn't even kiss sends you three huge – no, gigantic – bouquets of flowers to say feel better? Wow, sounds like you have a keeper there." I think she bought it.
The phone began to ring and she disappeared off to answer it, Angela was immediately at my side. "Who are they really off?" She questioned. I handed over the card and watched her expression mirror mine. "Oh… Wow."

With that another delivery guy entered, this time holding only a small brown envelope. "Bella?" He asked. I nodded my head as he handed over the envelope and left. My hands were shaking now and Angela watched me anxiously. What on earth could this be.

Inside was a collection of two pictures and a note.
One picture was of my girl boxers, my purple balcony bra, my converses and my skinny jeans that I had been wearing the night I met Emmett. And the second picture was of Emmett with a huge sexy grin, holding up my jersey that I had been wearing with his name on the back. I blushed and giggled, before looking at the note.

While I am deeply apologetic for my actions/ attitude from this night, I believe I am still I'm possession of items of yours.
If you would like them back, all you have to do is ask.
Nicely.

P.s. Hope you liked the flowers.

I was speechless.
