He knew that he had gathered enough wands, so Severus went through the field, picking new plants for the garden back home. He made sure to seal their roots in water, before transferring them to the jars. He had cast environmental spells on the jars while he had still been at Hogwarts.

Conti.

Once they had both finished with the rows they had been working on, they went to give the old man his flowers. The old man felt the need to flirt with Hermione again but she was used to the unwanted attention. Once she had grown out of her ugly duck stage, people started to notice she was a girl. She ignored him and waited for her Professor to leave. He quickly walked away and left Hermione to once again walk slowly back to town. Hermione soon lost sight of her Professor as he stalked quickly back into the village. Once she had arrived in the village, she headed to the cafe. Hermione hadn't done much physical labor in a while that she needed more caffeine as well as energy. She assumed that Professor Snape would like some coffee and she needed to pay for a meal today. She left the cafe with both of their drinks and walked back to the hotel. Hermione went to the desk clerk and got her room key, up the stairs she went and knocked on the Professor's door. He answered after a minute and she silently handed him the coffee and went into her own room. She took long another shower and finished the rest of her coffee. When her mind began to work again she started work on the first shelf of the backpack. Hermione knew there was so much garbage and waste in the backpack. She figured there was a lot of garbage after a year of just shoving everything in it. She knew it would take a while to clean her bag, so she figured she would do it shelf by shelf and then probably the trunks at the bottom. Hermione knew how important it was not to leave that kind of trash around for anyone to find, so she created piles. Hermione finished sorting and cleaning off the first shelf and and just as she finished, Professor Snape knocked on the door. Hermione could hear the Professor undoing the wards to her door.

Hermione was glad that she had already showered and packed her bag when the Professor opened the door. Professor Snape looked as though he were in a hurry and Hermione was causing him the greatest inconvenience. He said "Hurry Up Child" with a sneer on his face. Professor Snape shut the door to the hallway and entered her room completely. He held out his hand, showing Hermione a pocket watch. Hermione knew it was probably the port key and he had been assigned time. That was actually why he had told her to hurry up. Professor Snape used his long arms to motion all around the tiny hotel room at the various piles of junk from the shelf in the bag. Severus couldn't wait to leave this small romantic French town and move into something a little more familiar. People bustling around. Noise.

Severus held the pocket watch out in the center of his palm and waited for Miss Granger to put her hand on his arm. She quickly deposited the various piles into her bag and put on her backpack. Soon they were being sucked into the void and were then deposited in Egypt. Both shook off their disorientation from the port key. Severus did a quick location spell and headed toward where the Ministry was located.

On the way to the Egyptian Ministry, Severus took a moment to explain to Miss Granger that Egypt was known as the earliest known place magic had been recorded in wizarding culture as well as the Muggle one. He continued once they arrived inside the Ministry that in ancient times in Egypt, wizards and witches were praised by the Pharaoh and the people.

Hermione looked around at the Egyptian Ministry in wonder. It was in a glass pyramid. It was very glamours and it let in all the light. It shone on every light. He noticed Miss Granger looking around in wonder. It was quite funny to see the cogs burning in her brain. There was so much here that she didn't know and that she wanted to so desperately learn. Severus turned to Miss Granger in the elevator and said "Uagadou was the Egyptian version of Hogwarts and many respected wizards have come from here." There were many animals that were native to Egypt that Hermione would never see in person such as the Eumrpent, Fwooper, Nundu and Spinx. This is also the original location of Phoenix. He also took a moment to go over the Abyssinia shrivelfig. The entire reason for their visit to Egypt is to gather this plant fresh. He would have to log that with the government while he was in the country. They had a specific policy about bringing magically items in or out of the country.

The Egyptian Ministry in Cairo was their first stop in Egypt. Severus needed to file her apprenticeship papers while they were in a larger city. Since Miss Granger had agreed to be his apprentice for three years, he wanted the papers to be date stamped. The would need them for the records when they went back to England so when the English Ministry looked into the matter, the papers would have been auto-filed. While he was at the Ministry, he was going to arrange for the next two parts to the journey. He would be getting the port keys to Greece as well as Albania. He would sign for them at each new location, once he had used them. Once he was done filing the papers for the next leg of the trip, he went to the Apprenticeship Office and registered Hermione as his official apprentice. Miss Granger stood at the counter next to him, leaning against the dirty railing, nodding at the Egyptian man as he was explaining how the apprenticeship would work in Egypt. He finished reviewing the papers and then handed them both a copy that had already been signed by Professor Snape. He had provided both contract, one for the Ministry and one for them. He would make a copy for both of them. Hermione quickly and with a bright smile signed the contracts so that Ministry employee could file the proper papers.

Severus left the Ministry and went in search of a man named Johnson. He had helped Bill Weasley a number of times when he had been a curse breaker. Severus trusted Bill Weasley and knew that the man he was locating wouldn't let him down. Severus needed to collect a large sample of the Abyssinia shrivelfig for the potion testing. Johnson was located in a English part of Cairo and Severus took a minute from their journey to reserve them two rooms at a Inn. Severus handed Miss Granger her key and reminded her that most children in Egypt are pickpockets and to watch where it was at all time.

Hermione looked around at all of the people crowding the corridor that Professor Snape had taken. He had said that the Johnson fellow was located in this district. There were quite a few small children running around. Those must be the pickpockets that Professor Snape had mentioned. There were men standing on the side, trying to buy a donkey from another man. Further down the corridor, there was a woman doing the washing. She had a large bin, set in the middle of the road. It had spilled onto the ground, creating a huge mess. Hermione wondered how she would get around it in the narrow corridor. It only took her a minute to remember that she was a witch and could move the water. Hermione used her wand and moved all the water that had been split onto the road, back into the big tub. Hermione smiled at the older women washing the clothes as she passed. Hermione hurried to catch up with Professor Snape when he turned the next corner. Hermione knew if she got lost, that he would expect her to find him and not the other way around. She would be on her own. She flat out started running when she noticed that his head kept disappearing among the people in the marketplace. Hermione caught up to her Professor when he stopped in front of a bar named Cataranga's Tomb.

Severus arrived at Cataranga's and held the door open for Miss Granger to enter. He followed her in and closed the door behind him. Hermione could feel a tiny bit of air conditioning and cast a cooling charm on herself. Severus smirked and followed suit. He walked through Cataranga's and to the bar, he asked to speak to Johnson. He needed a guide to find some items and Bill Weasley had recommended him. Severus took a whiskey from the bar man and sat down in one of the seats. He finally had no patience and motioned to Miss Granger to sit down.

Johnson walked about of the kitchen of the bar and over to the dark haired man. He turned first to speak to the girl. "How do you do miss? My name is Johnson, it is a pleasure to meet you." Hermione blushed when the man introduced himself to her first instead of her Master. He would not like that. He turned to Professor Snape," What can I do for you?" Professor Snape just sneered at the man and replied "Bill Weasley told me to contact you to find me locations for gathering the herbs I need. I will pay you a good sum, but it needs to done within the week. I am planning to leave for Greece in one week."
