I don't know how long this will be, but if I keep it up, I might be splitting this into at least two chapters, if I keep up with what I did the last chapter. We'll see. This was the original second chapter.

I had an AN on here that said I was doing two chapters every year and they would be in Narnia for three years, but I link I'll just say, sit back and wait, I plan to finish this one within the month. I am using it to get up my word count for NaNoWriMo. Wish me luck!

If you guys are getting this because you are following the story, you need to go back and reread it. I have fixed it up quite a bit.

I DON'T OWN!

Enjoy!

Edmund awoke in a bed, he was groggy, but even that didn't stop him from realizing that this wasn't his bed, it was entirely too comfortable, and uncomfortably empty of his husband. He groaned when the light hit his face.

Lucy had walked into the room, only to be greeted by the moving figure of her brother, finally awake. "Edmund!" She gasped before moving to his side, embracing him in a tight hug, more to ground herself then to greet him, and she new that that sounded bad in her head, so she would never admit to it outloud.

"I was worried." Lucy whispered as she clung to him. Edmund held her, not as strongly as she held him, still weak from sleep. He felt a strange feeling of restlessness mixed with bone deep exhaustion, he didn't know why, and he was almost afraid to ask, but he needed to, he needed to know.

"What happened to me?" He asked, "How long have I been out?" He didn't expect to see the hurt and guilt flash in his baby sister's eyes, or for her to bury her head into his shoulder to keep from looking him in the eyes.

"You-" She mumbled the rest under her breath, further muffled by his shoulder.

"I couldn't hear you, speak up." He smiled at her. She huffed and pulled away from him, placing her hands on his shoulders and keeping him at arm's length away.

"You were poisoned. I did the best I could, but you were still hurt. You've been asleep for three weeks." She told him sadly, looking away and pulling him in for another hug.

"We had to bring in a doctor, he told us to keep you off the ship, so we stayed here, on the main island." Edmund moved a bit, making room for his sister to sit next to him on the bed.

"I was so worried, but you're okay." SHe grinned wide at him, her smile almost painful. But the bright relief on her face made him grin just as wide, just as painfully.

Edmund was feeling better. His stomach didn't hurt anymore, in fact, it felt a bit better, and a bit different, then he had ever felt it.

"Lucy, what happened?" He asked, he knew something was wrong, his sister still wouldn't look him in the face, keeping her eyes on their clasped hands.

Lucy chewed her lip. "My vial did something to your stomach." She started, her face pale. "Lucy, what happened?" Edmund repeated, his eyes showing a mix of anger and sadness. "The vial gave you a womb." Lucy blurted out, her face was beat red. Edmund was speechless, his eyes wide and his mouth agape.

How could that have happened? Why would that happen? Why did it happen to him? And was that a sign? Was he being given a gift or a curse? Only time would tell. They both jumped when three swift knocks sounded from the door.

"Can I steal his attention away?" A voice asked from behind the door, Caspian held out a platter of chocolate before entering the room, almost like an offering, probably for his sister, if his surprise was anything to go by. Edmund's whole demeanor changed. "Cas!" He grinned again. Caspian almost dropped the chocolate as he rushed to his husbands bedside. Lucy grabbed the platter before it could fall, and made her way out of the room silently, letting the two have themselves some alone time.

Lucy found her way down to the ship, which had been cleaned and repaired while Edmund healed.

Once she made it to the ship she climbed aboard to sit beside another crew member as they watched a training session between Eustace and Reepicheep. The crew was gathered around them, throwing out suggestions and taunts as the boy fought, sweat dripping off him in a similar way as if he had poured water down his head.

He was doing better, he was still going, unlike the first lesson the boy had with the mouse, where he had run away after two minutes. But he always came back, and now, it was showing.

"That's good, now parry" Reepicheep instructed. His smaller sword easily keeping Eustace on his toes, his swift movements keeping the boy from getting too complacent, making him move and work as he parried.

Lucy had a feeling that they were becoming friends; though they were too stubborn to admit it. Eustace was able to last a good two minutes, moving quickly and dodging like his life depended on it, before Reepicheep won. The crew quickly made themselves scarce, not wanting Reepicheep to asked them for a dual.

"Good match there, Eustace. Maybe next time we can fight to the death." Reepicheep grinned wickedly, knowing that it would scare Eustace, and it did.

"Like I said; Uncivilized." He muttered before rushing to hide behind his cousin, not that he would ever admit to hiding, he wouldn't have before his training, and he definitely wouldn't now.

Lucy chuckled and rolled her eyes at their antics.

"Queen Lucy, what a surprise!" Reepicheep exclaimed as he approached them, sheathing his sword. Eustace moved a bit more behind her, feigning looking over her shoulder at something.

"It's good to see that you two are just as animated as ever." Lucy told them with a grin. Eustace walked around her, something in the way she held herself made him feel that something big happened.

"How is King Edmund?" Reepicheep asked, making Eustace turn all his attention to his cousin, his eyes taking in her face, and the bright eyes and smile that had been absent for the past three weeks.

Lucy knew that Eustace was worried about Edmund, but she also knew that he would never show it, too busy trying to act all tough and distant, probably trying to trick himself into thinking that nothing had changed, that he was still estranged from them, and he would be, if he kept up the act. Though it would take a lot more for him to show them any kindness, Lucy would be sad about that, if she didn't pity the poor boy. But she pushed that to the back of her mind as she remembered the question, and the answer!

"He's alright. He woke up. Caspian's with him." Lucy told them grinning like a loon, her cheeks hurting, but she was uncaring of that, she had her brother back again and this time she wasn't letting him go.

"How is Eustace's training going?" Lucy asked Reepicheep once Eustace left to do who knows what. She worried about him.

"He's improving at a quick pace, almost like that of your brothers, as far as the stories tell us." Reepicheep told her with a proud puff of his chest. Lucy grinned. It had taken only a few months for Edmund and Peter to learn how to fight with deadly accuracy. They had to, war was upon them. Lucy said her goodbye's before going to find Eustace.
