Allia didn't like cursing much, It left a bad taste in her mouth whenever she did it. However sometimes it was unavoidable. This was certainly one of those times, She had just spent the last hour trudging through mud with Akira, and now they were being shot at… again. This was certainly not what she had in mind when Akira mentioned they'd be escorting a convoy enroute to supply a outer rim world. Little did they know the CiS had been tracking that freighter back from god knows where and now they were stretched between protecting citizens and not dieing themselves. The two Venators in orbit were of little to no help too, as they were busy dealing with a far superior number of ships and were desperately trying to call for help why they were pounded by fire from all sides.
Of course none of this was news to Allia, who found herself cursing once again as a Blaster bolt whizzed overhead. Ducking behind the nearest cover she could find, she took a moment to breath and examine the enemy force on the ground. As usual, it was not looking well for them. There had to be at least two battalions of battle droids advancing on their position. And that wasn't even counting their heavy armor. The clone next to her popped his head out of cover, firing a few rounds from his gun before ducking underneath once more, Barely avoiding the return fire.
"We should really get moving." He spoke frantically. Looking towards her. Of course, she couldn't see his expression through his helmet, but she assumed it was panicked.
"Right, uhh… Over there." She motioned with her hand towards a abandoned building. It had a few holes in it but it didn't look to be in the danger of toppling over anytime soon. "We can hold-up there for a while… at least until the tanks arrive."
The trooper nodded and they both took off. Allia was getting tired of running for her life all the time, but she guessed it was at least decent exercise. The clone trooper kicked the door in. waiting for Allia to enter before quickly following her. As soon as they were both inside the building, she pushed heavy looking objects in front of the door with the force. Hopefully that would keep them at bay
Letting out a long sigh she followed the clone as they slowly moved through the building, heading towards the upper floors. Allia didn't pay much attention to the floors as they passed, but by her guess they were on the 7th floor when they finally stopped. The clone sat down in a hurry, pulling his helmet free and shaking his head. "Well this is fantastic, the clankers just had to follow us."
"It could be worse. At least they don't have air support." She said with a small smile, in an attempt to at least reassure the clone. He only shook his head
"Well great, now you've jinxed us." She couldn't tell if his was joking or not. Clones had a very odd sense of humor. She sighed and sat down across from him
"I never got a chance to catch your name. I'm Allia" She said, looking at the clone carefully.
"CT-7682." The clone replied with a confused look on his face. Of course he knew who she was, after all Allia was a padawan. His reply earned a sigh from the pantoran as she spoke again.
"No, your nickname. I'll never remember your designation."
"Oh… right. Boxer."
"Nice too meet you boxer." Allia smiled. Before she pushed herself to her feet and edged towards the window, careful not to be seen she watched as the first droids began passing their little hiding spot, there were a few that had split off the group and were trying to push through the door the she had barricaded.
"Alright boxer, tell me you have a radio?" The clone shook his head and Allia almost cursed again. Almost.
"That's fine, we'll do this the old fashioned way." the clone picked his helmet up, securing it on his head before nodding
"I know where the rendezvous is. I can get us there" Boxer said in a hurry, as the droids finally managed to break through the barrier.
"Good. I can get us to the next building." Allia turned away from the window that was facing the advancing droids, and towards the other end of the office complex they were currently in. She didn't wait for Boxer to object, as she knew he most certainly would, and she summoned her strength and pushed him out of the building, sending him sailing across a small alleyway and into the building next to them. He smashed through the window a floor below them. Wasting no time Allia sprinted out the hole she had just made, pushing herself away from the building with the force and sailing over the alleyway. Before rolling through the hole in the adjacent building. "Ow… That really hurt."
"You'll be fine." Allia stood up, dusting herself off and extending a hand towards Boxer. His armor had protected him from the many shards of glass. Allia on the other hand had a sizeable cut on her right cheek now. Ignoring the pain she helped Boxer off his feet and began leading him down the nearby flight of stairs.
It was going to be another long day at work for Allia.
AN: Long time no write! heh... Joking aside here is another time skip of a chapter. Hopefully i'll remember to keep this story going... hopefully. My writing has really improved.
