Chapter 5: An Illusionary Breakfast
November 13th, 20XX. 7:30 AM
The morning sun was just over the city, it's bright yet glowing form shined down into the land below. Through one giant window, the short and stout Irken was met with solar rays beaming over his eyes. Zim groaned as he hesitantly got up, still not wanting to leave the blissful comfort that is the bed,
"Oh good, another day of being stuck on this planet, I wonder why…" Zim mumbled sarcastically. Zim let out a depressed sigh as he shifted to the right side of the bed and slipped on some bunny slippers. Zim literally dragged himself at snail's pace from his quarters to the elevator that leads into the kitchen. Zim wasn't surprised to see GIR up before him because knowing GIR, anything could happen,
"Morning, GIR.". Zim wearily said. GIR was cheerfully making some waffles when he noticed his master's presence near him,
"Guess who made waffles!" GIR delightfully announced. Zim slightly cringed remembering the unwanted experience he had weeks earlier when he was forced to eat probably mountains of waffles GIR had made specially for him. But he hate to admit it, waffles actually sounded pretty good right about now. He slumped onto one of the chairs by the table and waited to be served. Gir had simply given Zim a mere two waffles since he took note not to force feed his master again after that incident. On the other hand, GIR had a skyscraper made of waffles as he had already begun gouging down very aggressively on his food. As Zim was about done with his first waffle, he felt the urge of thirst hit him,
"Hey Gir, could you do Zim a favor and get the fizz juice?" Zim inquired. GIR came to a sudden halt on his halfway chowdown ready to obey his master's order,
"Yes si-" But in a blink of an eye, GIR saw something emerge from Zim's back making a beeline for the fridge, he knew for a fact that it wasn't his master's PAK legs doing it, it looked like some sort of octopus tentacle. The tentacle opened up the fridge with ease and gotten ahold of Zim's soda whipping right back fast towards Zim setting it right next to him before magically vanishing behind him,
"Thanks." Zim appreciated. GIR then came to the realization his master just did not see what had happen, he needed to ask if he already knew about this,
"Hey Master?" GIR said. Zim swallowed a bite of his second waffle and returned with,
"What's up GIR?" he replied,
"Why was there a magic octopus tentacle that came out of your back just now?" GIR questioned just completely baffled. Zim was put off by this statement, he looked on his back to see his same old PAK connected to him. What the heck was he even talking about,
"GIR, do not mock Zim." Zim sternly said as he continued eating his last waffle,
"But Master, I'm being for realsies, I saw a magic octo-" Zim got up and told the robot,
"GIR, You are just seeing things." Zim reasoned,
"Zim would know if he feels different, just don't worry about it too much okay?" Zim gave a small smile of assurance to GIR,
"O-Okay." Zim felt relieved that GIR understood. He still was kinda dazed on why GIR said that. Soon enough, Zim finished his breakfast and enabled his disguise heading for the front door,
"GIR, I'm leaving." Zim announced. GIR came into the living room where Zim was just about to exit the house,
"W-where you are going Master?" GIR asked. Zim looked down at GIR and saw the waterworks that were forming around his ocular sockets,
"Y-you're not leaving forever, are you?" GIR curiously asked in sadness. Zim hated seeing GIR cry so he decided to briefly explain,
"No GIR, since the Tallests have deemed me unfit to be an Invader and have banished both us here, we might as well try to officially integrate ourselves into the filthy human's society since we are not on a mission anymore, that's why I'm leaving for Skool."
GIR then whipped off the tears and sniffed, "S-So you'll be back?" GIR said as he looked up to his master with hope in eyes. Zim chuckled and bent down while patting GIR on his head,
"Yes GIR, I'll be back by the end of the day, okay?" GIR then smiled in satisfaction and felt better,
"Okay Master, have a nice day!" GIR joyfully exclaimed sporadically waving his arm with a goofy tongue sticking out of his mouth. And with that, Zim went out the door and off to skool he went.
Unbeknownst to Zim, the same creature that bonded to him last night had made plans to soon reveal itself to him, but it first was going to have a bit of a hard time giving hints to its host that he is not the only one here.
