Chapter 6

During the next morning, Prim received another letter from him:

'Dearest Katherine,

I definitely see myself married in the future and with a few children. My father wasn't the paternal type, but I plan to be different from him. I might consider working at the Ministry. Well, we yet again start a new day of lessons. Have a great day!

Max.

P.S- I don't say those things to any girl; I'm not like other Slytherins. I save them for a special woman.'

Prim scanned the letter again 'He's a Slytherin?! I hope he's not an ass like Draco.' She squealed uncharacteristically and jumped around the Great Hall entrance. Draco was behind her and snatched it from her.

"Give it back, it's mine!" Prim exclaimed.

"How about 'no', ugly duckling?" Crabbe and Goyle were sniggering at the struggling Prim.

"Give it back, Malfoy." Harry called out after Prim.

"Or what, Potter? You'll send out your army?" Draco smirked. Prim had an idea. She stomped on his foot so he wouldn't get a chance to read the letter. He yelled in pain and released the letter from his hand. She snatched it and ran off to class. Draco looked up to see her run away. 'You'll pay for this, Primrose.'

The Gryffindors had a great day of lessons; a day without Potions. Their last lesson was with Professor Atkins. After everyone left, he called out Prim's name; he wanted to talk to her. "Yes, Professor Atkins?"

"Recently I have been receiving chocolates and sweet drinks. I recognized your cousin's handwriting. Do you have anything to do with this?" Atkins asked. Prim's eyebrows shot up in surprise.

"She didn't tell me anything about it, but I have to tell you the truth; she has a crush on you." Atkins smiled coyly and rubbed the back of his neck.

"This is awkward, Primrose. It's awkward because I think she's equally interesting, but unfortunately I can't do anything about it at the moment." Prim nodded.

"You can't." She can't believe she was having this kind of a conversation with her teacher. "I think you should talk about this with her, Professor."

"I'm Noah, remember?" Prim chuckled and nodded.

"Why are you insisting on me calling you by your first name?"

Atkins shrugged "I'm lonely; the other professors are old as hell. I guess you're pretty nice and friendly." They shared a smile and he dismissed her.

Walking back to her common room, she felt as if she was being watched. She quickened her pace until she felt someone shove her up against a wall.

"Why did you humiliate me in front of that scumbag?" The guy said in a dangerous tone.

"Stop it, Draco! You're hurting me!" Prim pleaded. He loosened his grip and relaxed.

"Why did you do that?" He asked her again.

"It's none of your business reading my letters! How dare you snatch it from me?" She said coldly. Draco's expression softened a bit.

"I'm sorry; I was just trying to have a laugh."

Prim shook her head "You were trying to make an impression. You love the attention; being the 'bad boy', well guess what? Eventually it gets annoying. Don't you dare pull a stunt like that on me again." Her eyes glistened in the torch's light, making them very bright green. She was about to walk away when he grabbed her and kissed her. His arms snaked their way to her waist. She wanted to deepen the kiss, when she realized where she was and what she was doing. She quickly broke away from the kiss. She looked at him with a surprised expression on her face, and then it turned to a disgusted one. She wiped her lips, not removing her eyes from his and turned her back on him and stomped back to her common room. 'Why the hell did I want it to go on?', this thought deeply troubled her.

The portrait door opened to reveal an angry cousin. "What did Atkins want from you?" Chloe asked rushing to Prim's direction.

Prim tried to muster herself and lied "He wanted to ask me something about my assignment." She couldn't tell Chloe Noah's mutual feelings for her; it was forbidden.

Chloe didn't believe her "Yeah sure. I bet he wanted to kiss you in private! Right?"

Prim scoffed "I can't believe you, Chloe. My own cousin doesn't believe me." Prim's hurt look on her face softened Chloe.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to jump on you like that."

"Prim isn't lying. Atkins wanted to talk to me as well." Hermione said. Prim smiled gratefully at her. Chloe calmed down and went up to bed.

"Where were you?" Hermione asked.

"Atkins wanted to see me. My cousin is sneakier than I thought; she sent him chocolates!" Hermione gasped.

Prim went on "Surprisingly, he likes her back, but he's in a sticky situation; he's her teacher and they can't do anything about it now."

"Did you tell him that he needs to talk to her?" Hermione asked.

"Yes!" Prim hissed.

Hermione said "Okay, so it's not your problem." Prim agreed with her.

"Malfoy did what?!" Ginny and Prim were sitting in their common bathroom alone. Prim had to tell someone.

"He kissed me, Ginny. The nerve of that guy! I wanted to murder him." Prim seethed; clearly she was furious.

"And yet I wanted it to go on." Prim confessed.

"You've got to be kidding me." Ginny said, disgusted.

"Whatever you do, please don't tell anyone." Prim said hastily.

"Why not?" Ginny asked angrily.

"The others are mad at me anyway. I don't want to lose my friends because of that."

Ginny hugged Primrose "You won't lose us, but Malfoy needs to be taught a lesson." Prim decided to leave it at that and the girls changed to their pajamas and entered their beds.

Prim had a hard time falling asleep. She was still thinking about Malfoy and the kiss. 'He always tormented me, laughed at me…why the hell did he kiss me?' She decided to turn over to the other side of the bed. 'I thought he was better than that. I actually thought he had a good side to him. But I have to admit, he's a great kisser.' She wanted to slap herself at that thought; she never saw herself dating Draco. After all, Max was still in the picture; she was slowly growing to like him. She and Max were writing to each other for a while, but she had enough. She didn't want this secrecy anymore, and wanted to see him. She got up from her bed and decided to write one last letter to him.

'Max,

I wish for us to meet. If you want, meet me tomorrow at the ghoul statue nearby the Great hall after the Thanksgiving feast.

Katherine.'

And with that, she sent off her owl and went to bed.
