Chapter 4

Mining Guild

Steve rubbed his sore head. 'That hurt….' He groaned. He stood up and was surprised to see a fenced area littered with holes. "What the…" Steve trailed. "Hey, you. Where did you come from?" a voice called, and a gruff hand landed on his shoulder. "Don't worry John, I got him!" called the owner of the hand. "I'll take to see the boss. This is the sixth time already!" "Boss?" Steve asked. "Yeah, leader, you know." He shoved Steve toward a small fortress. "In there, fast!" He was shoved in and left. "So, you're the one all the commotion was about?" a female voice inquired. "Yeah, I think…" Steve said. This was all very strange, and the fact that his head still hurt didn't help. "Come through the iron door on the left." The voice commanded. Steve gritted his teeth, closed his eyes and walked left. Into a brick wall. "Oops! I meant my left, or your right." Steve opened his eyes and saw the iron door. "Oh…" he murmured. He walked up to the door and pulled the lever next to it. "Well, hello there! How can I help a totally deluded and confused traveller?" the voice said, but now, it sounded much younger. To Steve's massive surprise, a girl no older than 19 sat on a throne that dwarfed her. She had tan blonde hair and her right eye was red. Steve couldn't see her left eye, but he assumed it was also red. On her massive throne sat three cats; one on the left arm, one on the right, and on top of the throne, looking down. "Tell me how you got here and what you are doing here." She said. "Ok" said Steve "I'll shorten it though. I don't know how I got here, and I don't know where I am. But judging by all the holes outside, I assume it's the Miner's Guild. I must say, it's not very guild-y. I was teleported here by Markus, and Herobrine told me he needed me to travel to the End and kill the Enderdragon. But he said I would have companions, but the only one I currently have is my arrogant conscience, who I'm surprised to say, has been silent for quite a while now. A big improvement, or maybe it just went mute." "Oi, I'm still here you know! And without me, you'd be a mindless zombie!" his conscience retorted. "Hmm, cool!" She cried. "My name's Kat by the way. What's yours?" she asked. "Well, according to everyone, my name is Steve. Nice to meet you!" Steve said. "Right back at you!" she said. "So, you need a companion now, do you? Well, I'll tell you what; I'm bored of this place. All you do is dig holes. I'll come with you, and of course my cats will come too! But if you so much as even dare to hurt even one… You won't live to regret it." Kat warned. "But what about-"Steve was cut of short by his singing conscience "What about me?! It isn't fair!" his conscience sang. "Umm… anyway I was going to say, what about the Guild?" Steve said, embarrassed by his conscience. "Ah, don't worry, I'll leave it in the capable hands of Simon, the dwarf. You might know him, his nickname is Honeydew. Anyway, he loves digging holes. He'll look after the place good." Kat said, and quickly scribbled a note on a piece of paper, and left in on the throne. "Well, that that sorted! Now you have two companions! I wonder how many more there will be…"
