REVAMPED!

I should mention that the idea for this mission came from Mulan II which I will argue is a good movie.

Chapter Six: His First and Second

After their first date, Steve escorts Peggy back to her place. It was quiet between the two of them on the walk home but for good reasons. Neither of them could wipe the smiles off of their faces. If they were to start talking, their smirks would disappear in their conversation. It wouldn't be the same with words.

Eventually, they make it back to her apartment. Instead of opening the door right away, she turns back around and leans against the doorframe.

"I had a great time," Peggy tells him.

"So did I," Steve replies happily.

They both stand in an awkward silence. The two of them look around at everything else, unsure of what was going to happen now until someone else initiated it.

"Well," Steve says, "I'll be sure to call you."

Not expecting that answer, Peggy slowly nods her head. The two of them share their goodnights and then Steve goes his own way. Peggy turns to open her door but stops herself. To her, this night still isn't finished. Just because it was their first date doesn't mean they had to end it on this note. She turns around and sees Steve still making his way down the apartment's hallway. Peggy starts following him with a determined pace.

"Wait," Peggy calls out.

Steve turns around and sees Peggy jogging up to him. He catches her in his arms as she holds his face in her hands to kiss him. For a second, Steve stopped breathing. He didn't see this part of the date coming and he isn't mad about it, just scared. For the most part, he isn't sure what to do with his hands until he resorts to just wrapping them around her waist which worked.

When they part, Peggy sees the perplexed fear on his face. She grins a little, knowing exactly the reason behind it.

"Was that your first kiss since the 40s?" Peggy asks him playfully.

Instead of answering, Steve kisses her again. When they part seconds later, Peggy cocks a brow at him, still waiting for a response.

"That was my second," he says about the one they just shared.

After hours of being on the roads, Steve and Peggy finally enter the countryside. They take off their masks since the air is cleaner. The wind picks up and it's not only due to the empty space but because of the more vibrant nature and farmlands. It becomes chillier for the two of them, giving them a geographical idea on where they are.

"There must be a river nearby," Peggy guesses. "I can possibly hear water running."

"…stop," Steve mutters, trying to peer ahead.

"What?"

Before Peggy could get an answer, Steve speeds up ahead of her. She calls out for him but he doesn't answer. Steve focuses ahead and grips the handles of his motorcycle. He hops off and flips forwards, keeping the bike in his hands. When he circles forwards, he throws the bike over his head. It flies forwards and explodes onto an upcoming brigade of Chinese warriors clearly coming from Qui Gong to stop them.

Peggy zips past him and Steve jumps onto the back of her motorbike. The warriors scream as they start to fire at them non-stop. Peggy swerves the bike around, making them confused about their aim. Steve takes his shield off his back and puts it in front of her so she wouldn't get shot.

"I can't bloody see!" Peggy yells at him.

"Just go straight!" Steve replies.

"You drive!"

Steve stretches forwards and takes the controls. Peggy slips out, sliding out the side and rolling on the ground. Now covered in dirt, she jumps back onto her feet. She charges forwards, sliding on her knees to avoid a punch being thrown at her. While at a lower point, Peggy sweeps her leg around, knocking down the warriors near her. She puts her hands on the ground and spins herself around. She uses her ankles to latch herself onto a warrior's neck. Peggy pulls herself up like a sit-up and grabs onto another one behind her. With all of her strength, she turns herself and forces them both down with her.

Still on the bike, Steve accelerates. He grabs a warrior by the leg and drags him across the ground before throwing him at a trio as if he weighed nothing. He turns, taking his shield and throwing it. Like a boomerang, it not only takes out some warriors but it comes back. While that was occurring, Steve drove straight into some of the warriors. He drives down a small hill, forcing the bike on its front wheel. Steve spins it around, kicking down anyone that was in his way.

"Peg, we have to get out of here!" Steve yells.

There's no response from her. Steve circles back around, searching for her. At one point, he feels someone jump on. Steve quickly glances back, ready to attack but only sees that it's Peggy. She wipes away a smear of blood on her face with her sleeve as she pants and he can only hope that it came from a warrior and not her own body.

"We have to bolt," Steve states. "They already know that we're here so we might as well take a detour to Qui Gong and finish the fight there."

"Bolt?" Peggy questions. "Bolt where?"

"There's a cliff."

"River?"

"At the bottom."

Peggy nods, willing to go for it. "Shall we go for a dip?"

Steve smirks. "I'll see you at the bottom."

Peggy pulls out a grenade from her utility belt. She takes the key out with her teeth and aims it at the warriors. While the bomb is mid-air, she shoots a bullet in it so that it explodes faster. As the smoke gives them a cover, Steve picks up speeds and drives right off the cliff. Steve and Peggy leap off the bike and fall straight into a river. They crash into the cold stream and the first thing they do underwater is find each other. The bike sinks between them and Steve holds a hand up, telling her to remain still in case the warriors would shoot at them.

It's silent. Even the sounds of fired bullets would've broken through the water.

Steve sees his shield floating on the surface and he swims over to it. He uses it as a guard as he slowly rises, making sure that it's safe for them. When he sees that it is, he brings as much as his body as he can back above water. Seconds later, Peggy pops out, spitting out water and coughing intensely for air. Steve puts his shield on his back and swims over to her.

"Were you shot?" He asks worriedly, holding her close to him.

"I'm good," Peggy responds softly.

Steve nods as one of his hands holds the side of her head, bunching her hair. "Let's get going."
