This chapter I came up with at the really last minute. I saw this motivational poster on Instagram about Meiko driving like a road hog. OK, whoever posted that picture practically handed me my 6th chapter of Comedy Duo. I must thank that anonymous person. Now, here is the 6th chapter. Thank you, anonymous Instagram user.
Chapter 6: Never let Meiko drive you ANYWHERE!
"Len, where's my deodorant?!"
"It's in my underwear drawer!"
"WHAT THE HECK IS IT DOING THERE?!
"Uh... I don't know..."
Kaito and Len scrambled around their house, putting on semi-formal attire and applying deodorant. Len even put on some cologne. Kaito and Len were preparing themselves for a double-date with Miku and Neru. Unfortunately, Miku called Len earlier and told him that the double-date was taking place earlier than planned and Len waited till the last minute to tell Kaito.
"Jeez, I can't believe you waited until 10 minutes ago to tell me about this," Kaito said.
"I'm sorry," Len replied. "I thought we had more time!"
"Well, you thought wrong!"
"I said I was—" Before Len could finish, his cell phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and answered it. "Hello?"
"Len, it's Meiko."
"Oh, Sakine. So, what's up?"
"I just wanted to tell you that I can drive you and Kaito-kun to your little date."
"Oh? That's great! Thanks, Sakine." Len hung up. "Hey, Kaito! Good news! I got ourselves a ride!"
"Good," Kaito said. "At least you did something right tonight. So, who did you get?"
"I got Sakine for us. She can drive us there."
Kaito facepalmed. "Really, Len? Because, judging by the number of times Mei-chan has been pulled over by the police, she can't drive."
"Well, we have no choice. It's either Sakine or we walk."
Kaito sighed. "Fine..."
A few minutes later, Meiko pulled up in front of the house and honked the horn of the car. As soon as Kaito and Len rushed outside and got into the car, Meiko turned around and extended her hand.
"What?" Len said.
"You know what," Meiko said. "If you guys want a ride, give me 5000 yen.*"
"WHAT!"
"5000 yen each."
Kaito suddenly felt faint. "We'll give you the yen in a week."
"Hmph. So be it," Meiko said with a bit of irritation in her voice. She started the engine and took off.
A few minutes later, though, Kaito and Len began to notice the speed at which Meiko was driving. Also, they realized that Meiko was on the wrong side of the road; while she was going north, the other cars were going south and every so often, she would swerve suddenly to avoid incoming traffic. Meiko, on the other hand, had a very creepy grin plastered on her face as she maneuvered through traffic.
"Hey, you guys, we're going to be at the theater in 15 minutes," Meiko yelled.
"If we live that long," Kaito said to himself.
"I heard that!"
"It's true, isn't it? You're driving on the wrong side of the road!"
"Shut up! You have no right to complain since I'm the one driving you guys to that movie theater. Besides, if anyone's on the wrong side of the road, it's these idiots going the other way, not me!" As Meiko was speaking, the car was approaching a yellow traffic light, which turned red in a matter of seconds. Meiko failed to notice the red light, let alone attempt to stop.
"Mei-chan, that's the third red light you ran tonight," Kaito said, not hiding the fear in his voice.
"Hey, do you wanna be early to your date or not?" Meiko asked. "When no one answered, Meiko said, "I thought so. So shut up and be happy."
Kaito suddenly heard sobbing. He turned to Len, who was the one sobbing to himself. "What's wrong, Len?"
"I'm having bad thoughts right now, Kaito," Len said in between sobs.
"Bad thoughts? Like what?"
"My head's a banana and I'm peeling it! DO I NEED TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU? WE'RE GONNA DIE TONIGHT, KAITO!"
And that's when the three Vocaloids heard the sirens and saw the red and blue lights.
"It's the police!" Kaito screamed. Pull over, Mei-chan! Pull over!"
"Okay, we're going to die one way or another! We're either going to crash or get shot!" Len screamed. "SCREW IT, JUST TELL NERU I LOVE HER!"
Upon hearing Kaito and Len, Meiko hesitated for a moment.
"Tch. Fine," Meiko said before pulling over. The cop that was following them stopped and got out of the car. In a few minutes, he was right beside Meiko.
"Do you know why I stopped you?" he asked in a demanding tone.
"I have no alcohol in this car, Officer," Meiko replied. "I think the last guy took it."
Already, the cop was beginning to get annoyed. "Well, for your information, you were speeding, driving on the wrong side of the road and you ran at least 3 red lights. So, first of all, why were you speeding?"
"You want to know why I was speeding?" Meiko said. She leaned closer to the window and the next thing she said made the cop even more annoyed.
"Because I wanted to race..."
If Kaito and Len were scared before, they were terrified now. The two of them were huddling close together out of fear and whispering things like "Nice knowing you..." to each other as Meiko continued to taunt the cop. Finally, Len just shouted, "SAKINE! THAT GUY'S GONNA KILL US!"
"Shut up, Kagamine," Meiko said. "Mind your own business." To the cop, she said, "Do you think I can borrow you uniform for this year's Halloween Party?"
Kaito and Len could do nothing but scream and pass out...
Miku and Neru were waiting at the front of the movie theater. Rather impatiently, one might add. Neru was pacing the floor impatiently while Miku was looking out at the parking lot. A few minutes later, Miku's cellphone vibrated in her pocket. She took it out and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Miku-chan."
"Meiko?"
"So, Kaito and Len are going to be a little late for your little... date..."
"Oh, okay," Miku said. "Do you know where they are?"
"Yeah, I do. They're with me at the police station."
"WHAT!" Suddenly, Neru snatched the phone away from Miku.
"LEN, IF YOU'RE LISTENING TO THIS, YOU'D BETTER BE HERE IN FIVE MINUTES OR ELSE I'LL COME TO HOUSE AND I'LL DESTROY THE PLACE!"
"Neru, they got pulled over," Miku told her.
"Oh..."
*pants* Well, that was long... But it was worth it, because I had a lot of fun writing this chapter... I got nothing else to say for this footnote... except for one thing: an alternate title for this chapter would be "How Meiko Handles Cops".
*5000 yen= $49.13
Hope you enjoyed. :)
