The alarm rang through the halls of Titans Tower. Nick and Raven were in her room when the alarm sounded.
"Idris…" Nick said.
"You think its him?" Raven wondered.
"No question, come on Raven," Nick ran outside. Raven looked on.
"So determined…" She thought.
Nick, with Raven following behind, ran into the main room of the tower. He saw all the titans looking up at the screen.
"What's the trouble?" Nick asked
"An old flame is back," Robin said. Everyone around him groaned.
"What?" Robin said.
"That was a bad pun, even for me," Beast boy said.
"Will talk about making bad puns later, where is he?" Nick asked.
"Downtown, at a Museum," Cyborg answered.
"Good," Nick walked away.
"You're not going to take him on your own right?" Robin questioned. Nick turned back and smiled at robin
"Of course not, because I have a plan," Nick said
Meanwhile, Idris walked out of the museum with the artifact in hand whistling in glee.
"Those guards were too easy," Idris said, looking down at the artifact.
"So are you going to pay for that," A voice said. Idris looked up and saw the Titans. Robin, Cyborg, Kid Flash, Terra, Beast Boy, Starfire, Bumblebee and Jinx all stood ready.
"Oh look, more firewood," Idris' eyes glew. He then generated fire from his hands and threw it, creating a fireball. The Titans dodged it. Beast Boy then landed from behind and transformed into a ram. Idris then threw a flurry of fireballs and Beast Boy dodged them.
Cyborg then used his Sonic cannon and the attack landed and Idris flew back. Idris then stood up but was then lifted from up under the ground, thanks to Terras powers. But Idris counter-attacked by spinning in the air, raining down fire. One of the fireballs nearly hit Terra but Jinx then stepped in front of her, creating a barrier. Idris landed down but was quickly frozen when robin threw his nitrogen disks. Kid Flash ran towards Robin and Bumblebee and Starfire flew towards Robin.
"You know thats not going to hold him," Bumblebee pointed out.
"Oh I know, I was setting up for you two," Robin said. Idris was breaking out of the ice.
"Get Ready," Robin said, as Idris broke out of the icy prison. Kid then ran in circle around
him, creating a tornado. The force of the suction lifted up Idris, immobilizing him. As the tornado faded and he fell, Starfire and Bumblebee used their energy attacks to do more damage and smacked him to the ground. Raven and Jinx used their magic, Terra used her earth powers, and Beast Boy transformed into a giant squid to restrain him. Robin and Nick then walked over towards him.
"What is your goal?" Robin asked him. Idris paused. He then began to laugh maniacally. Raven stood back, feeling uncomfortable. The male laugh continued but then changed. The voice was more feminine.
"My goal is simple….to burn this city and the world to the ground," Idris then glowed. Nick eyes widened.
"Robin, Everyone, Fall back, now!" Nick said as he jumped. Robin followed suit. Beast Boy then felt his tentacles heat up and let go of the fiery demon. Idris blew up in a fiery explosion. Jinx and Terra flew back and landed on the ground. Raven also flew back but was caught by Nick. As the explosion died down, the Titans looked to see that Idris had disappeared.
"Damn it, we lost him," Robin said.
"Nah, we didn't," Nick said. The Titans looked at him.
"Now that I am thinking about it, I noticed one thing, all the museums are in a close proximity with each other." Nick explained.
"Cyborg can you-" Robin asked but was interrupted.
"Hes right, all the museums are in close proximity," Cyborg said.
"Let me see," Raven said. She looked at her friends arm to see the map. She then used her fingers to map a pattern.
"Oh no…." Raven said.
"That doesn't sound good-ow" Beast Boy said, recovering from his injury.
"Its not, this pattern is an symbol. I looked up those old relics, and they are part of an ancient society that sealed away an evil god." Raven explained. Nick then glowed energy and the spirit of Umbra shot out.
"Ha called it, 2 different people," Umbra said.
"When can you do that?" Nick wondered as he was taken aback.
"huh? Oh...I guess thats a new technique. Anyway, I did sense something of Idris besides the two beings." Umbra said.
"Im all ears," Robin said. The Titans gathered around.
"I sensed the evil spirit have been doing this for years," Umbra explained. Nick squinted his eyes.
"Okay, how much? 10, 15?" Nick guessed.
"Try thousands," Umbra said. All the Titans were shocked at this revelation.
"Well….damn," Nick said.
"Right now, this evil spirit is about to reawaken once again." Umbra said
"Then we'll have to try everything in our power to stop it," Robin assured himself.
"Any ideas where he might be?" Nick said.
"Hmm….." Raven looked at the pattern once more. She then pointed at the center.
"He would be at the center of the pattern," Raven assured.
"I know where thats at, thats where me and Jinx had our first date," Kid Flash said
"I don't know if thats suppose to be an omen or not," Jinx grumbled.
"We know where he is...Titans Go!" Robin shouted
Idris walked on top of a grassy hill in the center of a park. Idris, lighting his hands on fire, scorched the earth beneath them, creating runes. He then set the artifacts he had in a triangular position on the ground. He then began to chant in an ancient language. As he was chanting, one of museums that he created the rune for began to light up. The light shot up in a fiery blaze. The other two locations followed suit and shot up. Idris looked up and towards the pillars of flame. He smiled.
"Excellent, now to complete the ritual," Idris said
"You aren't completing anything!" Idris turned towards the location of the voice. It was Nick and two others, Robin and Beast Boy.
"You pests, slowing down my plans. But it is no use. Once I complete the ritual, the city will burn and the reign of fire will be ablaze once again." Idris explain
"Oh come on, enough with the fire puns already," Beast Boy said as he was annoyed.
" You think we didn't come prepared, didn't we?" Nick said. Idris looked around.
"Ah, where are the others?" Idris asked.
"The others are the locations of those pillars, planning to erase those runes you set," Robin explain.
"You think it will be that easy?" Idris said.
At the first location, Raven and Starfire were planning to erase the rune set. They looked upon the fire pillar with amazement.
"This power, its overwhelming," Starfire said.
"Lets get started," Raven said. As soon as she said that, flames attacked the two. The two dodged it. They looked on the flame pillar and saw a construct of fire, in the shape of a lion, appeared.
"Oh this isn't good," Raven said.
"Robin, some fire creature appeared," Starfire said on her communicator.
The second location, Cyborg, Bumble Bee, and Terra did battle with a similar construct, this time a dragon. Terra, using her geokinetic powers, threw dirt at the construct. Cyborg blasted it with his Sonic cannon.
"Robin this is Bee, were having an issue over here," She said to the communicator.
The Third Location, Kid and Jinx did battle with the same construct, in the shape of a hawk.
"Yeah, we're having the same issue here as well," Kid said as he was dodging flames.
"See? it won't be that easy," Idris said.
"Then we'll just have to take you down," Nick said.
"Alright Titans, do what it takes," Robin said on the communicator.
"Right!" They all said in unison. Beast boy changed into a jaguar and charged for Idris. Idris threw fireballs to stop the green jaguar but to no avail. Beast Boy then jumped and changed into a gorilla. Idris then blasted Beast Boy with a fireball and fell down. Robin then took out his bo staff. Idris launched a couple of fireballs but Robin block each one. Idris then launched a powerful blast. Robin used his cape to block the damage but it still knocked him backed. Nick then used energy attacks to grab Idris' attention.
"Well, well, it looks like its just you and me," Idris said.
"Yeah looks like it," Nick said.
"You seem strong, why don't you join me?" Idris said. Nick was confused.
"Why? Why do you need me?" Nick asked him.
"You see, you and I are strong beings, far beyond what these weak humans are and those weaklings you associate yourself with. With our powers, we'll be unstoppable," Idris explained.
"Sounds tempting but I refuse," Nick said
"Fine suit yourself," Idris launched a fireball at him. Nick was prepared to evade it but then Nick froze. The Fireball reminded him of the dreams he kept having about the child in the burning house. He sat there, waiting for the fireball to hit him.
"Nick? Nick! get a hold of yourself!" Umbra shouted. Nick then stood there, ignoring his order. It was then Beast Boy jumped in front of Nick and took the hit. Nick broke from his trance. He then saw his friend lying down, in pain.
"Beast Boy? Beast Boy, are you okay?" He shook his friend. Idris then began chanting once again. Nick saw that he was chanting once again. He then ran towards the chanting Idris.
"Fire crafted this world, Fire shall end it. Witness the return, the rebirth of the Fire Demon!" Idris said
As Nick was about to strike, Idris sent an energy shock wave which set back Nick. The pillars of fire from each location intensified, sending energy to the location Idris was. Idris then collapsed on the ground. Energy then arose from the physical body. The energy turned into fire and began to shape. The shape was a humanoid body. The figure then emerged from the flames. The figure was that of a female, with curves and everything. It had on a red orange dress with patterns and exposed cleavage. Her hair was fiery, her eyes glowed red and had a red gem on top of her head. She then floated down next to the body it sprung from. The body itself still lived on but was struggling. She then looked at her hands. She smiled.
"I live…..I LIVE AGAIN!" She shouted. Nick looked up and saw her. He was shocked to see this Idris reborn.
"Now to burn this city, and then no one will stop me." Idris said with an evil grin.
