I didn't notice the reviews.. I mean I did read them but I didn't notice them, you know? I think I was drunk that I didn't reply to them XD

If you guys can't remember, Linda appears in the manga. I decided I wanted to take her in and give her more importance.

- I promise I will post more chapters this summer. Luckily it will be more than 20 more chapters and it will end by the end of September. I can never know.

Chapter 6 – Discussions

As we got home it was almost afternoon. It was a sunny day and the kids were outside playing.

We left Paul to play with other kids and I looked at Matt. I had to talk with him about his.. odd behaviour.

It seemed that Paul wasn't tired anymore. Giving the fact that a sunny day in England was very rare, everyone was out enjoying the sun. And having a broken leg was no exception.

Well some people weren't outside.

I wanted to have a talk with him about being so...I might say posessive. But I saw Mello and I smiled like the Chesire Cat.

Showing him the video will be fun.

"Hey Mello!" I said. "We have something to show you"

"Oh, no. I think I will traumatized for life" he said restraining a smile.

"I'll use my computer to download the videos" said Matt.

"Yes, then to your room."

"Skye!" someone called me.

I saw Linda and I smiled. She was my best friend.

"I'll get there in a while. I want to see Mello's reaction. See you later. Matt, take my coat and my bag" I said handing him my stuff.

"Hi Linda!" I said going to her.

Linda was a year younger than me but she was a very talented artist. She was very friendly and she was the one that was trying hard to make everyone happy.

She became my best friend a while ago when we talked in a class and I saw she was a great person.

She was painting the kids playing outside.

For everyone, it was a blessing to see the sun. And she was the one portraiting it.

"Hey Skye" she said happy giving some finishes to the paint. She stopped for a second and looked at me "Everything okay?"

"Yeah, sure, why it won't?" I asked surprised that she could see what I felt. I was still mad at Matt for doing that sort of stuff at the hospital.

"Oh, come on, you can tell me everything. You know I can keep a secret."

I was unsure whether to tell her or not, but after all she was my best friend. Even thought we didn't spend too much time together since I was busy with my medical studies.

And I was wrong for this time. She always said something to make me feel better.

"Just what Matt did something at the hospital today." I said sighing. "I don't know if it is good or not."

"Care to give more details?" she said.

"I – uh..." I hesitated.

It was embarassing to tell to someone that.

"Fine. Keep it to yourself and torture yourself wondering if it was wrong or right" she said.

"No, no!" I said "I'll tell you!"

And I said in one breath "At the hospital, Paul and Matt left to the play room until I asked Sebastian about a mental disease. Then Matt came and brought us coffee and - ..."

Linda stopped painting and looked at me waiting to continue

"And he … uhm, he took my hand and ushered me to leave telling that Paul was tired and sleepy."

"Oh, what it is will all that blush, honey? Care to share more?"

"Oh, shut up" I said blushing more.

"I'm happy it is Matt you are falling in love with" she said starting to paint another one like it was normal to say something like that.

Now that took me by surprise "What? What do you mean?"

"I didn't knew who you were loving and I thought it was Near."

I started laughing.

"Near? Why him?"

"Because you seem to spend more time with him and defend him in front of others."

"He - he is just like my little brother. He does act childish. I can't help myself but protect him"

We both laughed "Yeah, he does."

"You mean - ?" I said.

"Yes" she said blushing.

"Oh, since when?"

"I don't know. It just happened. Thought I was interested in him when I first came here" she said.

I was glad the tables have turned and my love interest wasn't the topic but rather hers.

"Why don't you talk to him more?" I asked.

"I don't know. I try. I tried to get him out today, but he didn't want to come. He seems so mean sometime and I feel so miserable."

"Oh, Linda" I said patting her back. "He doesn't show his emotions. That is all. I'm 100 % sure he is not mean. He could use more friends. Even though Mello acts like he hates him, you will be surprised to see that they care for each other."

"You didn't talk to me too much because you thought I am close to Near?"

She looked sheepishly to me.

"Oh, silly flower" I said to her and started laughing.

Alessia came to us.

"Oh, so happy today, aren't we?" she said.

"Hi Alessia" I said. "How are you today? I haven't seen you yesterday"

"Yes, I had to pick up some stuff."

"Pick up?"

"Yes" she said hesitantly.

"What is happening?" I asked her. "Something is bothering you"

"I – uh" she said.

"Oh, great." said Linda. "Another hesitant one. Skye, care to give her the speech?"

"Alessia, you either tell us, or -" and me and Linda said in the same time "torture yourself about that you should have told us"

We started laughing and she said suddenly "I'm leaving"

The entire situation stopped for a moment. Alessia is leaving? Like for real? "Pinch me and tell me this is a dream. A bad one" I said.

Linda pinched me "Ouch, that was real."

"I'm sorry guys" said Alessia sad. "It is time I take my leave"

Alicia was about to leave Wammy's House to live on her own and solve cases. To follow her path to becoming a great detective.

I was happy for her, but I would miss her. She was very dear to me. But not just me. She was everyone's favorite.

"Oh, Alessia, I already miss you!" I said hugging her.

"Thank you" she said trying to keep her tears and smiled.

"You will be great!" said Linda finishing her paint. She stoop up and came to us. She didn't had any paint on her, like I did whenever I painted so she gave Alessia a hug.

"So where are you going?" Linda asked.

"There is this case in Zurich I want to solve"

"Did L gave you this case?"

"No, Iron Man did." she said with sarcasm. "And he said I must leave and be there."

"He will be there too?"

"No, he is in Japan, still at the Kira case"

Oh, Kira case, the one that was practically putting all the detectives out of business.

The silence fell for a few moments.

"I hope L is safe" I said.

"Yeah, me too." said Linda.

"I'm glad I don't have to see him, since I'm starting my career"

"And you need to stay safe. Double your safety and keep yourself out of trouble. Don't let the others see you."

"Oh, come on, I'm not a little child anymore" she said.

"Alessia" I said to her serious.

"Yeah, promise. Anyway, see you later"

"When are you leaving?" asked Linda.

"In 2 days from now."

"2 Days?" I said pouting. Then I said serious "you know, if you need help, just call me and I'm be there on the next flight. Okay?"

"Yes, of course." she said "I prefer you two than him."

"A panda" said Linda.

"A cute panda" I corrected her.

"Speaking of which - " started Linda smiling.

"Oh, God, no~" I said to them.

They laughed and I heard someone calling me.

"Skye!"

I turned around and I saw Mello. Then I figured out that it was about the video.

"I think is time to take my leave. See you later" I said to them.

"Sure"

"Yeah"

"Hey Mello, mentally prepared?" I said laughing.

"I guess so." he said.

We entered, went to Matt's room and the videos were synchronized and both running in the same time.

Saul stood with us since Matt informed him.

"Ready?"

"Let the show begin!" I said, forgetting for a moment I was still mad at Matt.

Mello's reaction went from amused to terrified. It all ended up with "I'm never ever going near that woman."

"Never say never" said Matt making fun of the blonde.

"I swear it to heaven" said Mello pale.

Me and Saul and Matt were laughing at Mello's reaction. Now that was something memorable.

"I'll go play some soccer with the others" said Saul.

"We're coming outside too." I said.

M & M's looked at me with a face that said Do we? And I said "I'll see you both outside or I'll kick your asses off the window. First we need to eat something." I said to Matt.

I looked at Matt for a moment then I closed the door behind me.

I went into my room and changed my shoes to sandals. My coat and my bag were on the chair next to my door.

I'll have to thank Matt for helping me out.

I knew I sometimes ordered the guys, but if I didn't said anything it was weird for me to expect them to know what I an expecting from them.

Before I came here, I remember knowing this woman that was expecting you to know what she was thinking and help her out. And if you ask me, that was stupid. Not everyone had reasonable deduction abilities. And even if they did, they still don't think what you think.

I went for the kitchen and grab something to eat. Too bad for me, Miss Waterproof was in there.

"What do you want?" she asked me.

"I- I just came from the hospital and I'm hungry" I said to her.

"Me too" said Matt entering the kitchen. And literally saving the day.

"There are some leftovers" she said pointing to some plates of food. And those weren't leftovers. Because they were barely cooked.

"Thank you, Miss Waterproof" I said to her.

Matt took the plates and I went to grab some apple juice. "We are going to eat outside. Excuse us" I said.

"Thank God you came" I said to Matt on our way outside. "And thank you for taking my stuff earlier."

He quirked an eyebrow at me showing off a charming smile.

Stop being so charming!It is hard already to talk to you and not be all blushy.

We got outside and there were 2 bench with a table nearby a tree. We settled the plates and Matt went to take Paul to eat something.

"Are you in pain or anything?" I said to Paul once he stood on the bench. Matt took the seat next to him while I was on the other side of the table.

"No, I'm great!" said a happy Paul.

"All you think is pain" muttered Matt to himself.

"Yes, Matt" I said loud enough. "Because it hurts. In case you didn't figure out it is my job is to help people out"

"I'm fine" said Paul smiling.

"I trust you are big enough to tell me if it hurts, okay?"

"Yes!" he said.

We enjoyed our lunch and after we finished Paul wanted to read a book so Matt helped him get to another place. I took the dishes and I went to drop them in the kitchen.

The moment I entered, miss Waterproof ordered me to put them in the sink and leave at once.

I gladly followed the orders and I saw Matt on his way to his room.

"I want to talk to you" I said to him.

He turned at me said "Let's go in the park"

"Yeah"

We slipped easily away from the kids and while we walked I started the conversation.

"Matt, I'm confused" I said honestly. "What happened today at the hospital?"

He looked at me and refused to answer.

"You know" I said "a conversation is where at least 2 people talk. This is more like a monologue. Say something"

"You want to go out?" he asked.

"We are already outside"

"No, you want to date?" he said bluntly.

I stopped and I looked at him. Is he playing a prank or something?

"Is this you trying to make fun of me? Where is Mello?"

"I haven't played prank on you in a while. And I am serious. I am asking you to date me"

"Haha, you're still joking, right?"

"No, I'm dead serious. You know what? fine" he said upset and wanted to leave.

"Matt..." I said grabbing his hand. "If you are serious, then yes" I said giving him a peck on the cheek.

He smiled and turned his head so he could kiss me. I was surprised and I didn't react at first, but he took the lead and I followed. The kiss wasn't long and I was happy about it. I felt butterflies in my stomach and I was flustered. I felt all jelly and I didn't expected that. Yes, I did wanted to, but I didn't expected it would be so soon.

Once we broke apart he looked at me, smiled and said one word that I could remember even now. Then he grabbed my hand and we went in the park and sit on a bench and talk random.

Looking back at those times, that word still makes me happy. It means a lot to me. I wonder what would happen if I he wouldn't have said that back then. Once I heart that, I knew our relationship is going to be forever. I know it was going to has it ups and downs but I knew I had someone to go home to.

Home... The place where someone waits for you. The place where you can look ugly and enjoy it. The place in someone's heart. The place where sweets wait for you. The place filled with people who make you feel better.

The word that still makes shiver of how much it means to me...

Mine.

One simple word that gives me hope and strength in my hard moments...mine.

And that was all that mattered to me. I had someone that I could turn to and that worked both ways. He would come to me when in doubts and whenever we found ourselves in trouble, at least we were together in it.

That was the last ray of sun before the darkness fell. Oh, and it was deep darkness that fell upon us.
