A/N: YO. Finnnnnaally back from the writing slump I've been sitting in after what, a month, two months? Just gonna say, sorry in advance for the wait for the next chapter, but I've got the entire plot figured out now thanks to bad sitcoms! (Don't ask…) Gonna cover some major points in this chapter that might reappear in the near future and Silerman, if you're still reading this story I've found a place for your contribution. (wink wink) ENOUGH PETTY TALKING! I know it's like totally a bummer, but read this and maybe I could get some reviews? Please? Being nice didn't work so I'm trying the forceful way. No offense. Just gonna hop right in.
Chapter 6: Well well well!
Ponyville
Some time after the last incident…
"Ugh, I've got to stop passing out…" I said groaning with new morning grogginess. I blinked my eyes open only to have them forced closed by the bright day's sun. There was a definite smell of pets in this room, but not exactly a bad one like some might think. It was controlled and mixed with the other smells just as perfectly so that it wasn't really noticeable, butit still added to the room. I tried opening my eyes once again hoping that now they had gotten slightly more used to the lighting inside.
I pushed up on a small, earth-tone green couch and stretched my achy back, sore from all the falling I've been doing lately. Looking around the room, I could see the owner was uhh… really into animals. There were bird houses and small, obscure mouseholes littered about the room, but I'll admit even though I'm not that into mice, they didn't seem to make the house look any less grand than it already was. The greens and browns really fit in together quite nicely and tied the rooms furniture closer together giving the place a cozy feel.
THAT, right there folks was my fashionista side, not a good place to go and I'll also admit I've taken interior decorating classes. Was I good at it you might ask? No! Once again, average! Based on the theme, I reasoned this must be Fluttershy's house I was moved to. I glanced towards the window to see the position of the sun; It was possibly around noon, but where was everypony? My question was answered as I heard some faint clinking originating from the kitchen. I sighed and mumbled to myself, "Might as well have some fun while I'm crazy." Walking over to all the noise, I nearly bumped into Fluttershy trotting out to go do something.
I swerved into a desk trying my best not to hit her and ended up falling onto my rump, flinching like a young colt guilty of stealing cookies.
She spoke first, "Oh, I'm sorry! Are you alright? I didn't know if you were awake yet, so I was coming to check on you, but now you are." She held out a hoof and helped me get up off the ground.
"No problem," I said as she helped me up, "It was mostly my fault." I noticed she'd become a lot less shy from the previous time I saw her from the very close way she helped me onto my hooves. My confusion was quickly diminished as she regained her timid pose.
"Um, you have a visitor in the kitchen…" Fluttershy informed me gently.
The confusion returned, "A visitor? But I don't know anypony yet…" As I was pondering who it could be, she led me into her small kitchen and there sitting at a table along with poofy haired Joey and an unimpressed looking Adam was the regal, white pega-corn who I passed out in front of just minutes before. "Gahp!" I barely shoved my hoof in my mouth before shouting out loud. Instead it made a 'mphhmhmm!?' kind a sound.
There was an awkward silence in the kitchen for a few moments until she spoke in a very authoritative voice, "Hello, my name is Princess Celestia. Now that you're all here we need to talk." She sent a dismissive glance at Fluttershy who then slunk stealthily out of the room. I watched her leave with an arising sensation of fear directed towards this mysterious "talk" I was about to have with the royal pony. It didn't help that she was twice my size and had an extremely pointy, deadly looking doohickey on top of her noggin'. She spoke again, "Well, you all are probably wondering why I'm here, and it's for you three, but mostly you." She pointed her fancy golden shod hoof directly at me.
My ears dropped to my head and my eyes widened. "Me?" I squeaked as loud and innocently as I could.
The princess dropped her hoof, "Yes you, you seem to be the leader of this group correct?" Joey nodded enthusiastically confirming what the Princess was saying. I reminded myself to hit Joey after all this was over, but Adam, however, looked unsure. He wondered whether to argue her choice, but decided against it and reluctantly nodded. I need some better friends…
"Um…" I adverted my eyes from her powerful gaze.
"That's what I expected, you come across as well educated. Plus an added benefit, you're the first male alicorn for thousands of years." It seemed like she talked about me like I was going to be entered in the slave trade. The princess leaned in with curiosity, "You aren't from Equestria, are you?"
I couldn't believe we had been found out so quickly. I was on the edge of hightailing it out of there, but I was curious what this was about.
I asked the first thing that came to my head, "Alicorn?"
She regarded my question with the utmost curiosity about why I didn't know what I was. "Alicorns are when the three races: earth pony, pegasus, and unicorn come together in harmony in a single child. We have the characteristics of all these races like a unicorn's horn, the wings of a pegasus, and the strength of an earth pony. It just so happens that you are the last male alicorn in existence. Don't you know any of this?" she asked me wearing a confused look.
I reached up to the top of my head and, sure enough, there was a horn sticking out of it. "This really can't get any weirder…" I must have missed it while I was looking in the puddle I thought to myself.
"Hmm?" the princess asked.
I fumbled with my words, "UH! Um… Nothing! Yeah, it was nothing." I smiled very cheesily. I finally worked up enough courage to speak back, "So, what's this all about?"
She smiled kindly lowering my defenses, "I came to Ponyville because my student Twilight wrote me saying she discovered the first male alicorn for thousands of years, but I can see this case is a lot more special than that. I'm here to help you, so, why have you three come here to Ponyville?"
Joey popped into a smile and told Princess Celestia everything in his fast paced speech. I facehooved, "Joey! Why!" The princess processed everything Joey blabbed and, after a few moments, came to a conclusion.
"Well, that was certainly an... interesting, story, but it's a little hard to believe," she stated with a flabbergasted laugh, "But, I think I'll believe you. You don't look like the type that could make up that much that quickly," she said to Joey. He obliviously grinned back. She turned back to me, "Is this story true?
I was at a loss for words, I truly didn't know what to say. I swallowed hard, if I told her the truth, would she help us out, or would she lie and throw us in a dungeon to rot somewhere? But if I lied, would she find out? Would she leave? No, it wasn't as simple as that, apparently I'm important because my "alicorn-ism" or something... I contemplated one last time before answering. With my head hung low, I admitted to her, "Yes, it's all true..."
Her eyes filled with wonder at how we got here and where we came from, but was replaced by a sense of duty and wisdom only a being thousands of years old could contain. "I will provide a house for you three while you stay here, but you must promise me that you will cause no trouble. I can get very protective of my citizens," Princess Celestia drew almost into a growl near the end of her declaration and I nodded hastily in fear. "I will arrange a visit to my castle for you to discus further plans, but until then, tell nopony about you. Not even Fluttershy, Tristan." I cringed as she directed her last sentence clearly at me. She continued, interrupting Joey as he was about it to say something, "I will get Twilight to show you to your house when it is ready, but until then, stay safe. Some ponies might, I'm not certain however, might be looking for you. I wish I could stay longer, but I must bid you farewell, I have some important business I have to attend to." And with that, Princess Celestia left us to wonder what was going to happen next.
Fluttershy entered her kitchen soon after looking curious as to what went down durning the talk we had with the Princess. "Did everything go okay?" She asked us innocently.
"I'm pretty sure? Apparently were going to have a house soon, so we'll be out of your mane. Heh..." I said trying to reassure her.
Little did I know that wasn't going to happen any time soon.
E/N Finally! You read this chapter, and I'm not a quitting failure of a person! It just takes a while... More on the way, more characters, and twists begin! See you next time, possibly Sunday.
