Chapter 6: The Protection Plan
Kimberly's POV
Chuck. E Cheese, was my first thought.
It was true, the leisure room actually did look like Chuck. E Cheese, minus the slides, ball pit, and fat sweaty dude in a giant grey rat costume. It was painted bright colours, pinks and greens, and there was a few painting easels. I could see some paintings hung up on the walls and instead of framed in glass, in a slightly foggy plastic. But what immediately caught my attention was the game system. There was a Wii hooked up to a big flat screen TV and some remotes on a table next to the system. The painting section, reading section, and sitting section were forgotten, as I instantly headed for the TV and the Wii.
"It's official. This hospital is awesome." I said to myself.
I sat down to root through the games the hospital had.
"Sonic, no, Barbie, no, hmm?" I stopped to check out this game that looked interesting.
"Just Dance." The game was called.
I looked at it closer and saw that it had these glowing figures that you had to follow to these songs. Opening up the case, I slid over to the Wii and put the CD in. Picking up a controller, I turned on the system and selected the game square. I chose the first song that looked mildly interesting and started following the glowing figure on screen.
Sam's POV: 5 hours later
"Well, that's done." Dean said, shoving himself away from the desk.
"I'm pretty sure we've found out everything we can without actually going to see the family." I shut down my laptop and stood up, stretching my arms.
Dean fell back onto his bed and got into a sleep position. I pulled off my pants and my jacket. Dean pulled down the covers and got underneath them. I got into my bed and laid on my back.
"What do we tell her?" Dean said into the silence.
"Hmm?" I murmured.
"Kim."
"That because she suffered a minor concussion, she cannot come on the hunt with us."
"That'll fly easily." Dean scoffed.
"It's medical, and better than just saying "we aren't letting you come on the hunt because you can't die in this universe." That just sounds weird and she'll be pissed."
"She'll be pissed anyway." Dean said plainly.
"Well she can't really argue the fact that we'll be less believable with a teenage concussion victim."
Dean nodded and made a contented groaning sound. "Turn off the lights, would you?"
I had just settled my head on my pillow when he asked that. I groaned and sat up, then got out of my bed and shuffled to the light switch. Flipping it off, I made my way back to my bed, in the dark. I felt a pain explode in my foot as I stubbed my bare toe against Dean's bed.
"Ow!"
A soft chuckle came from Dean's general area. I grumbled and hobbled my way back to my bed. Getting under the covers and ignoring the now throbbing pain on my foot, I shut my eyes and sighed.
"Night Dean." I said.
"G'night." He responded.
I was in the dark, left completely alone with only my thoughts. this was bad. i could now think about Kimberly and how this would work out. We've had Kimberly travelling with us for a day and a half and she was already in the hospital. At this rate, she'd be dead by the end of the week.
-Kim's POV-
The game was fairly easy. I'd been playing for a few hours now and the nurse had told me I had 10 more minutes until lights out. I was a pro at this! I had already been through each song at least once, and I was setting new high scores. First thing I'm DEFINITELY doing when I get back to my universe is buying this game. I had sweat droplets covering my face and my breathing was hot and deep. My hospital gown was slightly damp, and I seriously had to pee.
"Shut it down, sweetie." A kind voice came from the doorway.
I paused my game and turned to see a nurse standing in the room.
"But..."
"You've asked for 10 more minutes, it's been 10 minutes. Time for bed."
I grumbled and shut down the system, and followed the nurse to my room. Using a paper towel to wipe off my sweaty face, I got on my slightly uncomfortable hospital bed and pulled the thin sheets to cover my body. The nurse smoothed them down and gave me a kind smile, then left me. With the lights dim and only left with my thoughts, I sighed.
"Night Sam, night Dean." I whispered.
I dreamed of home that night.
Yes, this is a filler chapter. Sorry, but I am currently addicted to Just Dance and wanted to include it. It's also a small part of the next chapter when Sam and Dean come to get Kimberly. I know now taking questions and responding to reviews so ask away!
