"Just to school" I said innocently turning around to face Brax. I knew that once again I was in trouble. I was starting to back away from the fridge when Brax said "Not so fast young lady, get right back here and explain where you were last night". "I stayed at Amanda's" I told him looking directly at Amanda, who was staring at the floor. Brax was getting very angry and replied "In the future you stay nowhere but here, understand. You didn't answer any of my calls. We had no idea where you were". All I could say is "sorry". I had hit Brax's peak because he yelled "you're sorry. I got a lovely call from your school counsellor". "It won't happen again but it was Heaths fault" I said trying to get Brax off my back. I always blamed others for my actions especially Heath but this time I was telling the truth. "In future you let me deal with Heath and you don't just run away from home. Is this understood?. I just nodded "yes Brax, anyway we don't want to be late for school" I said trying to end this conversation because right now we were late. I grabbed my bag and something for lunch and walked out the door dragged Amanda behind me. "Have fun at school girls" Brax called out.

...at school...

We had finally got to school on time but we had to run the whole way there. Once I got my breath back I said "thanks for last night Amanda". I was grateful for staying there because I would be lying if I said I wanted to sleep on the beach. "anytime, I had no idea that you could be that sneaky" she told me. "don't forget I am a Braxton, I have to be sneaky" I said before we both starting laughing. I was laughing with Amanda when Mrs Davidson came up to us. " Bridgette can I talk to you in my office please?" she said. I had no idea why I was in trouble this time so I agreed and followed her into her office. I took a seat. "is everything ok at home?" she asked me. I was sick of everyone worrying about my home life. Anyone would think I had no family. 'it's fine" I replied. "I hope I didn't get you in trouble with your brothers". " it's cool you were only looking out for me". Natalie could tell I wasn't really in the mood to discuss my personal life so she changed the topic. " you look like you're getting along with Amanda?" She asked me. "yea she is the only friend I have at the moment, properly the most sane". I said. See I was the troubled new kid who was a Braxton. No one wanted to be friends with me and my old friends were crazy if you think about it. I think they were just friends with me to hang out with my brothers. " you want to talk about it" Mrs Davison asked trying to get me to open up to her. "maybe another time" I said being saved by the bell. "I better get to class" I told her getting up and grabbing my bag. "sure. You know I am always here if you need to talk" she said walking me out of her office.

...in classroom...

I got to class and everyone was already seated. I found a seat next to Amanda near the front. "hey Bridgette, what did Miss Davidson want?". "Just to talk" I said. Our teacher just walked in as soon as I took a seat. He asked for our homework. He went up the rows of chair collecting the work as he walked past. "how did your homework go yesterday" Amanda asked me. "we will have to wait to find out" I told her as the teacher reached our desks. "here is my homework" Amanda said almost jumping out of her chair handing her work over. "what about yours Bridgette" he asked me. it was time to tell the truth. "well it kind of got a bit wet" I said with a sort of smile on my face. I opened my bag and handed my saturated book over to the teacher. The class laughed at me. "see me after class miss Bridgette Braxton" he said angrily. The bell went for the end of class and I thought I could make a quick getaway. I packed up and was about to leave class when I heard "Bridgette". I was busted big time. I sat back in my seat. "I can explain…" but before I could finish my sentence the teacher said "really then inform me". ok time for me to come up with an excuse cause the teacher would never believe me if I told him my brother through it in the water at the beach. "I kind of dropped in in a puddle" I said hoping he would believe me. "well that would be convenient if it rained yesterday". "yes but it might have fell in the water at the beach". The truth was out. "this better not happen again for you, go on and get to class" the teacher said. It wasn't the first time some teacher had let me off for not doing my homework.

I rushed to my next class. It was history. I casually walked in class and took a seat next to Amanda. "you know my favourite class is history" Amanda said. It didn't surprise me that Amanda liked history as she loves every lesson of school. " great i know what i would like to be doing now" I said looking out the window.

History was boring the hell out of me. I was half asleep on the desk when Miss Bishop came up to my desk and said "am I keeping you up Bridgette?". My head shot up. "Well your class is boring me and what does history have to do with anything" I said. Miss Bishop didn't like this smart comment and said, "Well, what would you be teaching then?" "I suppose something to do with surfing or else something actually worth listening to" I told her. "Well you just have to sit and pretend to like my class because you are a student and I'm the teacher." I wasn't just going to sit and pretend to take an interest in this class, so I decided to do what I would do if I was at Mangrove River high. "Well if that's the way you want it, I'm leaving." I told her, packing my books. "Brigette if you want to remain a student at Summer Bay High you will not leave my classroom until the end of the lesson." I left before Miss Bishop finished talking.

Brax point of view.

I was on my laptop when Bridgette storms through the door and goes straight to the fridge, typical Braxton.
