Clark had asked Lois if she wanted to go get lunch after they had sent their latest story to Perry. It was only 11:30 am and Clark know that in thirty minutes Lois Lane would either hate him or be so mad at him that she would never want to see him again. He hoped neither would be true but to be on the safe side he wanted to have lunch with Lois one last time.
They arrived back at the Planet a little after noon and Clark saw the dozen arbutus (You are the only one love) and the two dozen white and red roses (long-lasting love) with the card that told everything Lois Lane I love you –S/C-. This time after Clark pulled out Lois's chair he went to his desk. He saw Lois pick the card out of the flowers and read it. Then he saw her pick up the other card from the flowers that morning that had been lying on her desk. Lois walked out of the office leaving both flower arrangements behind when in the past she had taken them with her. He heard Perry ask Jimmy if he know what was wrong with Lois. He also heard Jimmy reply with it must be the flowers. Clark thought if he only knows the truth.
After three hours of not hearing a thing from Lois Clark decides that it is time to call his mom and ask if she would go check on Lois. Maybe Martha could talk her out of trying to hurt him or at least Clark could hope it would.
