By the time the Doctor had gotten through a hatch in the basement and crawled along the air ducts and found Rose's room, she was lying comfortably on the hospitable bed with her hands resting on her abdomen. He dropped down from the vent and fell to the floor with a loud 'yelp' that made Rose whip her head around to see her husband. She laughed heartily at him as he got up and rubbed his backside with a grimace on his face.

"You're such an idiot." She said good-naturedly. He mimicked her tongue-in-teeth smile at her words, and set about a new wave of giggles.

"Rose, what happened love? Are you okay?" He asked after her laughter had died down, resting his forehead against hers.

"I'm fine Doctor, honest. They didn't do anything to me."

"But the woman outside, lovely people, very peculiar, anyways she said they would, you know, get you… and then the baby! Little monsters they are, well they tear… and oh I was so worried, well I thought…"

Rose covered her husband's mouth with her hand, noticing the red in has face that indicated he wasn't taking in air between his hurried words.

"Breathe, Doctor. They couldn't do that to me. I was already… well I'm pregnant already. We just didn't know." She smiled up at him brightly, but internally she was cringing. Lie, lie, lie, the voice in her head muttered.

Upon hearing the news, the Doctor visibly paled, then broke out into a smile of his own. It was a megawatt smile that could only be stopped by him bringing his lips to hers, and giving her a passionate kiss.

When they both had to pull back to breathe, the Doctor grabbed her under the knees and under her back ad scooped her up.

"Come on, Rose Tyler! We're going back to the tardis to go tell everyone the good news! And maybe have a celebration on our own."

He waggled his eyebrows at her, but was looking forwards to where he was walking so he wouldn't accidentally trip and harm her or their unborn child. He couldn't see the tear silently slipping down her cheek.
