Strawberries. So pleasant. So warm.
Steven snuggled closer to the nice smelling, warm object in front of him. That was strange; he felt like it was morphing to fit his body. Actually, he thought it felt amazing against his body.
He pressed his body closer. That was nice.
Suddenly the object squirmed.
His eyes flew open. "Oh gosh! Sorry Ruby!" he exclaimed, sitting up quickly, causing myself a slight head spin.
"I am good, I forgot that I was in bed with you" he rubbed his eyes. "Sorry."
"I am sorry" Steven said, quickly, feeling bad. "I'm sorry that I squished you."
"It's fine. To be honest it felt nice." He shuffled awkwardly.
"Oh-" What was wrong?
"I am going to shower."
"Can I go to the toilet first?"
"Go for it."
He got up and stretched. He walked into the bathroom as the now dry Mumu wandered out and jumped on the bed.
"Mumu! How did you sleep?!" Ruby grinned, hugging the mudkip.
Steven closed the bathroom door. He moved the towels out of the shower and grabbed two more out of the cupboard.
It didn't take long at all for him to pee, he just didn't want to have to hold it while Ruby showered. He walked out of the bathroom and Ruby was awkwardly standing near the door.
"Sorry" Steven apologized.
"Don't be."
"Do you want me to order you something for breakfast?"
"I am fine" he replied, not looking at Steven.
"Oh, okay." He was a little taken aback by how moody he was being. What happened to the cute, chirpy teen he had spoken to, and may have started crushing on, last night?
He quickly ducked into the bathroom.
Steven assumed that he had just embarrassed him.
Mumu sat at the door.
"You wanna go in?" Steven asked the small blue pokémon.
It nodded.
He held the door open for it to slip in unnoticed. He wandered back over to the desk and leaned against it, picking up the telephone. Hopefully someone would answer him. He called room service.
"Hello Room Service."
"Hi, this is Steven Stone in room thirteen. I would like to order breakfast."
"Absolutely. What would you like?"
"Banana pancakes, black coffee no sugar, four slices of toast, a small jug of milk, assorted spreads for the toast and the strawberry pancakes. Thank you."
"No problems Mr. Stone. Hopefully it shouldn't be more than twenty minutes."
"That is fine. Thank you." He hung up.
Maybe if Ruby ate some food he would feel better. Maybe he hadn't slept so well. Steven decided he would talk to him after his shower.
As expected the teen took forever to shower. Steven didn't particularly mind, except breakfast was getting cold and he had wanted to eat breakfast with Ruby. He spent the time reading new papers on other expeditions he had acquired, and also went over his own journals from previous ventures.
Ruby walked out of the bathroom looking refreshed. However, he didn't look at Steven.
"Ruby" Steven smiled. "Would you like to join me for breakfast?"
He nodded and sat across from him.
"Are you feeling ok?"
He nodded.
"Why are you… ignoring me? Did I do something?"
"No" he said softly.
"Okay." He moved his papers and journals onto the floor. "Uh… I ordered plenty, but it may be a bit cold now."
Ruby shrugged. "That's fine."
Steven nodded. He had already finished his coffee. Coffee was one thing he couldn't wait for.
He looked at the pancakes. "Which ones are yours?"
"Whichever ones you don't want."
"Oh… I like both."
Steven smiled. "How about we share? There is three of each. If we have one of each, then you can finish with whatever one you like most."
"Thank you."
"Or you can have some now stale toast. I think I will give my share to aron and beldum."
"Mumu can have mine."
"Why aren't you looking at me? What have I done?" Steven asked, finally cracking.
He looked at him, looking shocked. "St-Steven… it isn't like that."
"Did I do something weird to you? Did I get a hard on in my sleep or something?"
He blushed.
"Shit… I did… didn't I?"
He shook his head. "No, you didn't."
"Oh thank heavens. I didn't want to scare you out of bed or anything."
"That wouldn't happen" he assured. He grabbed a strawberry pancake.
Steven smiled, feeling relieved. "That's ok then. So what was the problem?"
"Nothing."
"Don't you want to talk about it?"
"No" he said quietly, shaking his head.
"Okay. Sorry for pushing the matter."
"No, it's ok."
Mumu rushed over and sat next to Ruby.
"Aww, do you want some food? Here you go" he passed the content mudkip some toast which it ate happily. Ruby smiled adoringly and looked at me. "Sorry for being so quiet."
"No, it's okay. I just… thought that we were getting along really well last night."
"We were" he smiled, looking directly at me. "I mean, we still are. I am just moody" he said, waving his hand. "These pancakes are great, have one."
"Oh, right." He picked up a banana pancake. "Did you sleep well? You weren't too cold were you?"
"I slept well, thank you, and I wasn't too cold. Did you sleep well, Steven?" he asked a strangely silky voice. "You weren't too hot, were you?"
"No, I wasn't actually, and I slept well. I am glad you slept well."
He smiled. "Likewise."
Steven looked into Ruby' eyes, allowing himself to get lost. Steven felt lustful. Sure, Ruby was a teen, but he found him attractive. Ridiculously so. Perhaps that was why he was so rude to him. Perhaps he was in denial to the fact… that he thought Ruby was alluring. Ruby really was… so beautiful.
Ruby smiled, blushed and averted my gaze coyly.
Steven realized how ridiculous he must have looked and blushed. He was a man in his late twenties. He was not in the least bit 'cute'. He couldn't get away with being all sweet and coy. Not like Ruby. Ruby could do that. Steven was too old. And he had never been cute enough to do that.
"Steven."
"Y-yeah?" he croaked.
"Um… what… did you honestly think of me when you first saw me?"
"I thought you were a foolish child who didn't really know what they wanted. Now I know that you are an exceptional teen who knew exactly what they wanted."
He chuckled. "I am a foolish child and I don't know what I want."
"If you could have anything what would it be?"
He flushed a deep shade of red. "Oh… um…"
"I will let you think about it" Steven smiled softly. He started eating again, suddenly ravenous.
Ruby ate a banana pancake. "I can't decide what I like more" he sighed, passing another slice of toast to Mumu. "So you will have to eat them both" he smiled cutely.
"Oh, okay." Steven was a little put off by how cute he was. Why was he suddenly so much more attractive?
He smiled. "I am going to change and sit up on the deck with Mumu."
"I think I will stay here and finish reading."
"Oh, okay." He walked over to the mess of his belongings. He dropped the towel right in front of Steven, causing him to blush and look away. He had now seen Ruby's penis twice, and that made Steven feel perverted and disgusting. Ruby was too young for Steven. He would accept that and not get involved in a way that he couldn't get out of.
Steven finished the pancakes and stacked the plates back up. "Ruby, did you want the glass of milk?"
"Oh, sure." He walked over, in just tiny swimming shorts, and picked up the glass. He quickly drank it and grabbed Mumu. "We will head up now."
"Okay. Did you need sunscreen?"
"I will be fine."
"You are so pale. If you get burnt it will hurt. A lot."
"Okay mom" he joked.
Steven shook his head and passed him the tube. "Take it with you."
"Okay. Have fun reading."
"I will, don't you worry."
He nodded. "See you when… I get back."
Steven nodded. "No problems."
He walked out of the room, Mumu trotting behind him.
Steven sighed. He would like to sit on the deck and watch Ruby prance around in swimmers, but to be honest even thinking that made him feel dirty.
His aron cried out.
He looked at aron. "What is it?"
Aron rushed to the door.
Steven looked at the door, which hasn't been closed properly, but it wasn't quite ajar. "Do you want to go to the deck too?"
He chirped and nodded.
"Okay." He got up and walked over, opening the door, allowing aron to slip through the gap.
Steven yawned and closed the door. He walked back over to his seat, slumping into it. It was a nice day outside, he decided he should sit out on the rooms' balcony. He grabbed the papers and journals and walked outside.
It was warm, slightly humid, but not windy. Which suited him just fine since he was still in the cool shade of the awning.
The only thing that would make this better would be black coffee. No sugar.
