"Naruto. What happened on that bridge?"

Naruto looked at his sensei, Kakashi seemed worried about him. They sat in his room at Tazuna's house, Asuma stood next to the door.

"Those three showed up. The one in the mask matched me, then used some weird ice thing to attack me from all sides. I got the attack pattern down and got her with a kunai in the stomach. She used some suicide jutsu to try and take me with her and I got away from it." Stated Naruto.

"Then you took out both of my genins opponents?" Questioned Asuma.

"Yeah. I threw a kunai through one of them, and slit the other one's throat." Stated Naruto, wincing as if the memory physically hurt him.

"What happened with Zabuza?" Questioned Kakashi.

"He showed up, I sent Choji and shika away, then he attacked. I got my kunai deep in his leg. I thought I got an artery, but he didn't seemed fazed by it. That's when I got my arm sliced open." Explained Naruto, pointing to his stitches. "I grabbed the ring of the sword and tried to keep him from slicing me again. He detached that handle and clubbed me with it. He backed off and I threw another kunai, catching him in the chest. He ran and picked up the ice user, ran off and fell into the water."

Kakashi nodded. Asuma simply grunted. That checked out with what they had found at the bridge.

"I'll go check on choji. You did great kid." Mutter Asuma as he walked out of the room, leaving Naruto and Kakashi alone.

-Konoha, five hours later, Hokage's office-

Hiruzen read over the report in his hands, a smile forming slowly, dangerously on his face.

'Naruto my boy, you're making this oh so easy.' Thought Hiruzen as he looked toward his successors portrait. 'A rookie genin, four confirmed kills, fought off an A rank ninja twice... Yes, you are making this plan seem almost plausible.'

Hiruzen placed the scroll down on his desk and leaned back in his chair. "Soon my boy. Soon."

-Wave-

Naruto was walking through town, his eyes scanning the buildings and people. He watched as people were cleaning and fixing up their stores, some were even bringing stuff out into the street to dust it off.

"Naruto!"

Naruto turned his head to see Ino chasing him down. 'I don't need this right now.'

"Good, you finally stopped." Sighed Ino as she stood across from him. "Asuma-sensei sent me to watch after you."

"Alright." Shrugged Naruto as he turned and kept walking, his mind unable to stop the images of the people he had killed. 'Maybe I should talk to Anko when I get back.'

Ino just growled and followed him. 'There he goes again! Just ignoring me and walking away.'

Naruto spotted a store and walked in, finding a large furniture shop. He was surprised to see that it was in fairly good condition, apparently, Gato wasn't targeting furniture.

"Ah, shinobi. You must be the one that old goat was talkin' about when he was runnin' round town earlier." Stated the owner, long grey beard and safety glasses were all they could make out. "Just lookin' 'round?"

Naruto once again looked over the furniture and found that there was some amazing looking stuff in the store, all pretty cheap too. "These prices can't be right."

"Ah, you are from the big city. I used to live there, too. My prices are low because I don't have those pesky taxes to pay. Helps I make all my own furniture too." Coiled off the owner.

Doing some quick math in his head, Naruto figured out that he could refit his whole living room, his bedroom and his kitchen for the cheaper than the cost of a bedroom set in konoha. He actually had enough on him to buy a lot of what he still needed in the apartment... And a lot more, after all, he did just take a huge amount of Gato's money.

Ino was lost in a world of wonder. She spied a bed set that blew hers away, and she could afford it!

"I'll take that Dining set, that bed set, that living room set and that coffee table please."

Ino spun around to see Naruto pointing out grand looking sets, the owner simply following him and placing stickers on the things he pointed out. 'What the hell? I thought Naruto lived in a dinky apartment? He's buying stuff that belongs in mansions... Does he have enough money?'

"Will that be all?" Laughed the older man. "You want to buy your mom or dad a few things too?"

Naruto's face fell and his shoulders sagged. "No, I never met my parents. They died the night I was born."

The owners eyes widened, his mind slamming back to his final days in konoha. 'Is he the kyuubi container?' "Kyuubi right? Lotta orphans after that one. Tell you what kid, I'll knock five percent off for you and your teammate."

"You know about that?" Asked Naruto as his hand dropped slowly toward his kunai pouch. "Why do you assume they died fighting kyuubi?"

"Easy there, kid." Reprimanded the older man. "I was in the village when the beast attacked. You look about old enough to be born around that time."

Naruto relaxed, his hand falling away from his kunai. "How much does that put me at then."

"We can call it five thousand. The stuff you picked out has been sitting a while." Stated the owner. "Y'all got sealing scrolls to carry this with?"

Naruto nodded and unsealed his money, paying the older man and sealing the furniture up. "Thank you sir. I might have to come back here next time I get a big paycheck."

The old man just laughed as Naruto and Ino left his store. "Any time Naruto."

Ino and Naruto waved back to him before they kept moving down the street.

"Why did you buy all that stuff? Gifts for someone?" Questioned Ino, a giggle escaping her lips. "You don't have to buy me a new bed just because we are friends."

"Har har." Naruto faked laugh, his hands falling back into his pockets. "The only reason I'd buy you a bed is if we were going to share it, and that probably will never happen."

Ino looked at Naruto strangely. Every time he spoke or did something it would change how she looked at him. Before this mission, she had thought he was a strong idiot, but he had done so much to shed that idea. 'I wish Sasuke was more like you, Naruto... Wait...'

Ino looked at Naruto, her eyes squinting. "Did you tell that shopkeeper your name?"

-Two days later, Hokage tower-

"Very good work." Praised Hiruzen as he looked over the genin. "You are dismissed, you can collect your pay from iruka in the mission hall."

Team ten nodded and left, Naruto following after a nod from Kakashi. After Naruto closed the door, hiruzen's eyes hardened. "I understand that he fought three C-rank ninja, but did he actually kill Zabuza Momochi?"

"From his story and blood on the bridge, there is a very high chance." Stated Kakashi.

"Then I need you two to spread the word. I want every jonin currently in this village to know about it by sundown." Stated Hiruzen. "Asuma you are dismissed. Kakashi, I need to speak with you."

-Next morning-

"Hey girly, picking up some breakfast for your mom again?" Asked Anko as she watched Ino walk into her favorite restaurant, only for the blonde to smile and sit at her booth. "Did I say you could sit there?"

"I need advise. About a boy." Replied Ino as she picked up a menu.

"I only know three guys your age, so I don't know how much I can help." Responded Anko, a small smile on her face. While she would never admit it, she liked her co-workers daughter.

"I'm growing feelings with this guy, who I have known for years, and I don't really know what to do." Explained Ino, her eyes not leaving the menu. "It's kinda like he's two different people. He acts one way, then he randomly switches to this completely other person."

"You have a crush on the brat." Smirked Anko as she laughed and started talking in a baby voice. "Does girly like the runt?"

"Brat?"

"My runt. Naruto. You just got back from a mission with him, right?" Laughed Anko. "You're in luck, I can actually give you advice on him."

"You know Naruto? How?"

"Kakashi asked me to help with some special training for him. Kids a goldmine. I'm going to make him untraceable." Bragged Anko.

Ino just looked strangely at Anko, her eye twitching. "He's already hard enough to figure out. It's like he has a split personality."

A sinister grin crossed Anko's face. "That's because he does. He has his mask, a Pervy, charming, silver tongued, intelligent little shit. Then the real him, an ungodly street smart, foul mouthed, shrewd little shit."

Ino giggled before she realized that the guy Naruto was around other people was his mask. "But I've seen both? What does that mean?"

"Probably that he trusts you. He made that mask after mizuki tricked him, the only people he lets it down completely for are Kakashi and Hokage-Sama." Replied Anko, her finger tapping her chin. "I'm guessing that you and the runt probably had a bonding moment or two and he started letting that mask slip."

"Well, he taught me water walking on the mission. Though he probably just liked looking at my body." Laughed Ino, who was surprised to hear Anko snort.

"Girly, in the week before you left on that mission, he saw my tits and saw me in just my bra and panties." Informed Anko, Ino's jaw dropping. "I'm training the kid to resist seduction, you're going to need a lot more than a hot body and a smile to get anything out of him other than an inexperienced fuck."

"You mean that's really a thing?! I thought that seduction training was something that Pervy old men dreamed about." Questioned Ino.

"Yep, anyone who is at high risk of being a target is trained to resist seduction. Kakashi was too. Most people don't qualify, but with the runt in the situation he is in, I wasn't surprised." Stated Anko, a gleam coming to her eye. "I'd snatch that boy up right now if you're interested in him. He won't last long once the world finds out about him."

"You think that Naruto is that high quality?" Asked Ino, surprised that someone much wiser than her seemed to put Naruto on such a pedestal. "What makes him so much better than the boys my age?"

"You just said it girly. Because he's a man, and the rest are just boys. He grew up and he gets it, he won't play games or lead anyone on. If he has interest, he will make it known eventually. The kid is actually kinda shy, so I would expect him to outright ask you. Plus with his past, if he sees that you don't have an interest in him, he will move on. If I was your age, I'd have dragged him to my bed and let him fuck me into the mattress by now. Actually, that might be the only way to get it through his head."

-Golden Cutlet restaurant-

Akamichi, Choji tells them about how Naruto saved his life, Chouza says that they would invite him to the clan feast.

"Mom, mom! I'm back." Yelled Chouji as he moved through the kitchen.

"Your mother's not feeling well." Smiled Chouza as he poked his head out from behind a rack of serving trays. "How was the mission?"

"It was wild. First we fought two chunin guys on the way there, then Asuma called for backup. We ended up getting Naruto and his sensei, and Naruto ended up fighting off Zabuza before we got to Tazuna's house. Then a few days later, Naruto ended up killing the two chunin we fought, and a guy that could use ice. He sucked the poison out of my leg and arm, then he fought Zabuza alone again and sensei thinks Naruto killed him."

"Hold on, did you just say that Naruto Uzumaki, fought Zabuza Momochi twice, and not only survived, but killed him?" Questioned Chouza, his eyes wide and his voice skeptical. "Zabuza Momochi was... Is... Well Zabuza almost killed the Mizukage in combat before he fought his way out of Kiri. He is... Was one of the most dangerous men to ever come out of Kiri."

Chouji's eyes widened at the information. "Really? Then how did Naruto beat him? I mean yeah, he had a big slice in his arm, but other than that he was fine."

Chouza nodded and scanned over his son. "Please don't tell your mother about Naruto extracting the poison. You know how she worries."

"Yeah, I won't. But can we do something nice for him?" Asked Choji. "He saved mine and Shika's life, and he taught us all water walking."

Chouza's head tilted as he looked at his son. "Of course we can. Maybe a meal or a preferred membership here." 'I need to speak with Inoichi, no way a genin can come out of that straight in the head... I don't think I could handle a fight with Zabuza Momochi, period.'

-Uchiha clan district-

Sasuke laid face down on the ground, some blood on his lip as he rolled onto his back, grabbing his ribs.

"It was quite foolish to challenge me. I may not be the strongest jonin in the village, but I am still a jonin. I cannot think of one genin in your age group that could stand against any jonin one on one." Stated Ebisu, adjusting his glasses. He had no marks on him to indicated that Sasuke had even touched him. "You are improving, I suppose. Perhaps I can get you a simple mission outside the village soon."

Sasuke perked up. "I would need a team for that."

"That will not be a problem. Your teamwork has come a long way, even when doing simple chores with Konohamaru." Giggled the special jounin. "I'll go look tomorrow. For now, we can work on ninjutsu."

-Two days later, Yamanaka compound-

Inoichi had seen many things in his lifetime, the fall of nations, the end of two wars, the birth of his daughter, his mother in law naked. He wasn't sure he could be shocked more than when his daughter came home two days ago, and told him about her mission.

He had ignored her obvious, if hidden affection with the Uzumaki boy, he would deal with that later. He had even ignored her version of the mission summary, which basically was Naruto teaching her water walking and Asuma teaching her a chakra enhancement technique.

It hadn't been till his best friend, Chouza, had come by that night, and told inoichi about chojis version of the mission, that inoichi had put any real thought into Ino's version of the story.

Chojis and Ino's stories lined up in terms of the events, and that Naruto had held his own, by himself, against a rogue ninja that terrified even him. That would mean that Naruto was impossibly stronger than the village was lead to believe, a possibility as the boy was a jinchuuriki, or that Naruto was much, much more intelligent than anyone could fathom, seeing as his test scores were garbage.

Inoichi considered that for a few moments. If he was right about who the boy's parents were, then either could be true.

"Hey daddy, where are the forty five pound plates?" Shouted Ino from the compounds gym.

"They should be on the rack next to the treadmill dear." Answered Inoichi as he began moving toward said gym. 'That's odd, she has the day off, why is she in the gym?'

As Inoichi got closer, he heard the sound of weight being added to a bar, before he heard a light grunt and heavy breathing. Inoichi made it to the doorway to see his daughter. In sweatpants and a sweatshirt, squatting an impressive amount of weight. Inoichi smiled and walked away. 'She's finally taking her job seriously... Maybe the boy will be good for her.'

-Ten days later, training ground 3-

"Again."

Naruto huffed, out of breath as he created ten clones and took up the second of the Hummingbird stances. He and the clones stood still on the river that bisected the training grounds, Kakashi standing on one river bank, Might Gai standing on the other. A falling leaf was the signal, the first Naruto clone sprung at the blonde, only for the real Naruto to disappear. Ten popping sounds later and Naruto stood alone in a cloud of smoke, his custom kunai in his right hand.

"Very good Naruto! Your stamina is a testament to your powerful youth and exuberance!" Called out Gai as he watched the genin nod and plop into the water, cooling off from his training and the hot July sun.

Kakashi moved to stand next to Gai, his telltale indifference shelved as he spoke. "Do you think he is fast enough? To learn it?"

"I was under the impression that he was a wind user." Spoke Gai seriously.

"He is, but that isn't the part that I want to teach him." Stated Kakashi as he watched Naruto come back out of the water.

"He isn't quite there. He is quick enough, but he doesn't have the raw speed necessary." Stated Gai, his eyes locking with Kakashi's. "What are you trying to prepare him for? The chunin exams?"

"Kinda." Offered Kakashi lazily. "There is something hokage Sama asked of me. Pertaining to him."

Gai simply nodded and disappeared, already late for his own training with his star pupil.

"Naruto, come on, we have to go see the Hokage."

-Suna-

"You will be working with a team from konoha to apprehend the remaining spies in Lotogo." Stated Rasa as he watched his children react to the surprising news. "This is at their request. You are to keep your distance and guard the two they are using as bait. They will have a 'body guard' that will tag along with the bait, to make the bait seem more important, and Ebisu the tutor will be their sensei on this mission. These are the loose parameters, and they are subject to change at Baki's digression."

"Can I kill any of them?"

"No gaara, no you cannot."

"What about the spies? I can kill them... Right?"

"After you get the information."

-Hokage office-

Naruto and Kakashi entered the Hokage's office to see they weren't alone. Ino stood next to Ebisu, or as Naruto called him, the closet perv.

Naruto was somewhat shocked to see Sasuke there as well, and even more shocking, he and Konohamaru stood next to each other.

"Good, now we can begin. I hope your tardiness does not rub off on Naruto, Kakashi." Stated the elder sarutobi. "Konohamaru, go with Kakashi, he will take you out for ramen."

"What?! No fair!" Cried out Naruto. "Old man, I haven't even gotten ramen yet today!"

"Be respectful brat." Growled out Ebisu

"Seeya boss! Seeya Sasuke!" Laughed Konohamaru as he sprinted out of the room, Naruto noticing that the scarf around his neck was burned up on one side, making it shorter.

Kakashi followed the youngest sarutobi out of the room and closed the door behind him.

"Alright. Naruto, has Kakashi informed you of the mission?"

"No sir, just that I will be escorting." Stated Naruto.

"Then I can tell you all now. A few weeks ago, we captured two operatives of a spy cell in the border town Lotogo. The group hides as couples on vacation. From what we understand, there are six members left, three couples total. They recruit wealthy couples that enter the town and then pay them to go to spy in other cities. We cannot tell their allegiance, but suna has confirmed that they are not tied in." Stated Sarutobi. "This is a joint mission with Suna. Your portion of the mission is to draw out the recruiter so that the suna team can question them. You will then hunt down and eliminate the remainder of the spies."

"Do we have the Intel on Suna's team?" Questioned Naruto.

"Yes. You will be working with the Kazekage's children." Ebisu sputtered while Naruto's eyes widened. "From what I remember from my last visit, they are very capable ninja, and respectful."

"Who will play the couple?" Questioned Sasuke, not liking where this was headed.

"You and miss yamanaka will pose as the couple, with Naruto as your bodyguard." Confirmed Sarutobi. "If there are no more questions, you will leave from the west gate in three hours. Pack as if you are going on a three week B-rank mission and three week vacation. Sasuke, no Uchiha clan markers, Naruto, no Uzu. No konoha markers while in public."

-Fifteen minutes later, Naruto's apartment.-

Naruto stood in front of his closest, packing both formal wear and casual clothing. He was mentally going through his pre mission checklist, checking off clothes, he moved into his trophy room, which as of right now only held his extra kunai, Zabuza's handle and Anko's bra. A huge blush came over his face, remembering the newest level of 'training' that Anko had started.

"This place is so cool, that stuff you picked out in wave really fits well! How much does it cost to rent?"

Oh, right. Ino had followed him home from the Hokage's office. Naruto walked out of the room and made his way toward the living room, "It's alright, to big for my tastes."

"Well you just need a roommate." Came inos response from... His room? Naruto walked back into his room, finding Ino looking through his room. "Yeah, this room is perfect for me. Huge bed, you have a couch and a coffee table in here, plenty of closet space..."

"Well, I don't need a roommate, and this is my room Ino." Stated an annoyed Naruto.

"I guess we would just share it then. Think that new bed can fit two?" Replied Ino with a wink before she looked out the window. "Wow. I've never seen the village like this."

"If you moved in, I'd just change rooms and give you this one." Stated Naruto as he walked out of the room, rolling his eyes. 'I wish she wouldn't flirt so much. I'm starting to think she just likes to mess with me.' "Speaking of, are you sure you are packed?"

'What? He can't be that blind. Anko was right, he is dense. Maybe I should tease the shit out of him during this mission...' Thought Ino as she followed him out of the bedroom. "Seriously, how much do you pay for this place? You have five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room, dining room, roof access..."

"Do you want lunch? If I know Ebisu, he's not going to take many breaks on the way to the village." Asked Naruto as he started digging different meats and vegetables out of his fridge.

Ino just nodded and sat at the counter watching the blonde work to prepare a meal.

About five minutes later, the kitchen was filled with a delicious smell that made Ino's mouth water. 'He can cook too? I think I'm in lo- I mean... I could do so much worse than him. He is hot, he can cook, super strong, surprisingly smart, he's nice.'

"Hey runt! Did I miss the food?"

"Anko?"

"Hey crazy lady. I can make some more for you." Stated Naruto, not even turning around as he grabbed more vegetables to add to the skillet.

"Thanks brat." Chirped anko as she sat down next to Ino and put her feet up on Naruto's brand new table. "Hey girly, you two on a date or something. You obviously haven't gotten to the good part yet."

Ino's face flushed at what the older, scantily clad woman was insinuating. "N-no, we have a mission in a few hours."

"Oh, so you're going to eat THEN fuck. Such a gentlemen you are runt. Mind if I join in? I could use me some Naruto." Teased Anko, Ino going completely red as she locked up. "After our last session, you left me all alone, runt. Naked, in my bed..."

"Anko, knock it off, you're going to break her." Stated Naruto, still not turning around as he finished the dish and filled three bowls with the cooked meat and vegetables.

"Oh no, you will be the one breaking her, I'll just be the cherry on top." Laughed Anko, drawing a sigh from Naruto as he placed the bowls in front of his two guests.

"Is there a reason you are here? We don't have anything planned until next month... Actually, you are suppose to be on a mission." Stated Naruto with a squint in his eye.

"Is that any way to talk to your sensei?" Asked Anko as dug in. "Your little girlfriend here isn't saying anything disrespectful."

"That's because she can't process everything you said. Give her a few minutes free of you and I'm sure she will be fine." Stated Naruto as he moved to stand across the counter from them.

Ino just nodded and dug into her food, trying to ignore her father's crazy co-worker, that knew Naruto on an extremely personal level. 'I know she said that she's training Naruto to resist seduction, but it sounds like they mess around too.'

"I didn't even say anything bad. Girly, you could use some training time with me and the brat wonder over here. It wouldn't be good if you froze up on a mission." Stated Anko somewhat sensibly. "We could start now, you can suck his dick while I play with his balls. It would be a good building point from last time, wouldn't it Naruto?"

Both Naruto and Ino sputtered as Anko spoke, a cackling laugh followed as she watched Naruto wipe his face off and hand Ino a napkin.

"Can't you act like you have a filter? I wanted to relax before the mission, not deal with you and your sexual taunting." Stated Naruto, finishing up his food.

"What would be more relaxing than letting us milk you dry?" Tested Anko, watching both Ino and Naruto go red.

Naruto rinsed his bowl before he just hung his head and walked out of the kitchen, and up to the roof.

"I'm serious by the way, you need to get over your shyness towards him. I know you like him, but that isn't good." Staked Anko as she patted Ino on the back. "I take it you haven't told him?"

It took a few seconds for Ino to recover before she shook her head. "No, I don't know if I love him, and I still don't know if I like the other two guys either. I have time to figure it out on the mission."

Anko snorted. "Girly, I'm training him to resist seduction, I know him better than you, and if you wait too long, another woman will snatch that boy up. If he were a few years older, I'd be all over him. I wouldn't be surprised if some woman gives him a ride while you're on that mission. Simply espionage mission in a resort town? All kinds of time to mess around..."

"I don't know what to do though... I've tried to get him to ask me out, I've tried to get him to make the first move, for lord's sake, I told him I'd share his room with him." Stated Ino, frustratingly.

"Ino, he's stupid. If you get sexual with him, that's all he will think it is, if you are friendly with him, that's all he will think of it. You need to be blunt with him, grab him by the shirt and kiss that idiot, it's the only way he can figure it out... Or you could crawl in his bed and fuck him." Laughed Anko as she finished her meal and got up to wash her plate. "The good ones are dumb, girly. Make your move on this mission, it will be the last time you see him for awhile, and there is no telling how long before another girl glomps on."

"I don't know, what if he thinks I'm a- wait, what do you mean it will be the last time I see him for awhile?" Asked Ino as Anko walked over to Naruto's balcony, which Ino now realized is probably how she got in.

"Sorry girly, can't say." Mocked Anko, a sinister grin on her face. "Smoke bomb!"

Anko dropped a small blue pellet on the ground and jumped out the doorway, leaving Ino wondering just what the hell was wrong with the people in her life.

-Two days later, 10 miles outside Lotogo-

"Alright, I want the couple to make their way from the gates to the hotel in a random way, much like tourists. Body guard, you stay six paces behind them at all times, be visible, I want some attention drawn to you, enough for a genin to spot you." Stated Ebisu.

"As bodyguard, how should I handle non ninja threats?" Questioned Naruto, his eyes scanning Ino and Sasuke.

"Simply stop them. No need for any force." Stated Ebisu. "The suna team will handle hostile ninja. The suna team will contact the bodyguard through one of their ninja in civilian clothes. That ninja will tag along to the hotel and check in their team."

"So I'll be tailed by one of the kazekage's children. Great." Stated Naruto. "How to start an international indecent 101..."

"It will be fine, you're too likable to cause anything you can't talk your way out of." Laughed Ino as she stood next to Sasuke. "Anything else?"

"No. You are on your own from now on. Myself and the suna sensei will also be in town, but not near you three." Stated Ebisu before he poofed out of the path they were on.

"Shall we go then, boyfriend?" Questioned Ino, falling into her character as she locked arms with Sasuke, shaking her ass a bit for Naruto.

"After you dear."

-Suna-

"Sir, an intelligence report from the man we sent to wave." Stated a nameless shinobi as he handed rasa a plain looking scroll. "There is something very interesting that I believe you will want to know."

Rasa took the scroll and motioned the man to leave, before opening the scroll and reading.

'Gato Corp taken over by citizens, Gato believed dead.
Bridge completed, connects to the east shore of the land of fire.

Named after konoha ninja who killed gozu and meizu of the mist and an unknown ally. Also rumored to have killed Zabuza Momochi.

After speaking with the bridge designer, the man's name is Naruto Uzumaki.

Kakashi hatake, Asuma Sarutobi and three unknown genin also there, but confirmed to have not been at the battle where Uzumaki allegedly killed Momochi.

Rasa rolled the scroll up before writing up a letter, which he had his assistant sent out to Baki. 'Naruto Uzumaki... A familiar name...'

(I've decided that I want to fix some earlier chapters of my older stories. What I want to do is get a team of two people, which i will share the Google doc with, who will each beta the chapter, which i will then review and update my story with the cleaned up chapter.)
