WHO FINISHES FIRST?

Sagepaw groaned and woke up from her sleep. "It's still dawn", she muttered sleepily.

"Wake up sleepy-head", a voice whispered in her ear. She jumped up and it her head on the roof. She rubbed her head and glared at the cat who had made her jump. The cat in question was laughing his head off.

"Your face was priceless", Thornpaw wheezed out.

Sagepaw glared at him: "You mouse-brained fool. You nearly gave me a heart-attack"

Thornapaw just laughed some more. "I did? Poor kitten", he said in a mocking tone.

Sagepaw glared at him. "You are so on", she said furiously.

"Oh really?", Thornpaw asked with a smirk. "A race?"

"Fine", Sagepaw said glaring at him, hatred shining in her eyes.

Thornpaw flinched slightly, why did it hurt him so much seeing her hate directed toward him? He shook his head slightly. "Sure. Now?", he asked, his cockiness returning. He knew that he would win it for sure.

"Sure", Sagepaw answered. She trotted off. "Gingerleaf!", she shouted. "Thornpaw and I are having a race, he is so dead", she continued furiously.

Gingerleaf purred in amusement, and a few cats snickered in the background. Sagepaw looked around with confusion. "What's the matter?", she asked to no one in particular.

A cat in the background said: "Young love is amazing".

Sagepaw snorted. "I am not in love", she said furiously. She stomped out of camp, leaving Thornpaw laughing. "Don't deny it love!", he called out after her.

Sagepaw felt heat flood her pelt, hiding her embarrassment, she called back: "Who says I am deny it dear?"

Thornpaw laughed softly and bounded after her. "To the Big Oak?", he asked, lashing his tail with excitement.

Sagepaw smiled softly. "To the Big Oak", she confirmed. She got into a crouch, ready to spring. "1! 2! 3! GO!", she yowled, sprinting away.

Thornpaw felt his heart flutter at her smile, she was beautiful and he loved her personality. Wait? What!?, he thought. He shook his head, and sprinted after her.

"Hello Love", he said with a smirk, catching up to her. Sagepaw let out a startled yelp and stumbled, tripping over her own feet and landing on the soft earth.

"You scared me!", Sagepaw yowled again.

Thornpaw smiked: "Again?", he asked mischeviously. Sagepaw glared furiously and pounced on him. Thornpaw fell to the ground, laughing softly.

"Can't keep your paws off me, huh?", he asked, green eyes glinting with amusement. Sagepaw rolled her eyes, but then she smirked: "Maybe", she said and in a daring act, she leaned in swiftly licking his cheek.

She jumped off him and laughed at his puzzled face. "See you later dear", she said with a wink, bounding to camp, the race all but forgotten. In her mind she was a winner and that's all that mattered.
