Chapter 6 - Festival
Tenma was in class; he had music class and was playing his violin in front of the class while Masaki played the piano. They were panther so they played together. While playing Masaki noticed that the brunette wasn`t concerting on what he was doing and the music went downhill`
"Tenma, what the hell are you doing?" Masaki yelled. He was trying to whisper it slowly but that didn't help so Masaki found a small piece of paper and threw it at the brunette. The brunette looked at Masaki.
"What kind music is that?" Masaki gave the look.
Tenma finally realize what he was doing started to play normally. Tenma couldn't stop thinking about Taiyou, he was in his apartment. He wondered what he does when the brunette isn't home. He can't be find out wouldn't go outside.
While thinking once again Tenma's music went downhill fast. It sounded so gloomy from the peaceful he was playing before.
"Tenma-kun, is there something wrong?" Fubuki Shirou the music teacher found it strange that Tenma would make a mistake when he had never have before.
"Sorry, Fubuki-sensei." Tenma should stop thinking some person he hardly even knows but it's hard when that person is staying with him for the time being.
After class had ended Tenma was getting ready to go home.
"What was with you in class today?" Masaki asked.
"Sorry, I had a lot on my mind." Tenma said.
"You don't have to apologize to me, geez." Masaki then took out a poster and handed it to the brunette. Want to come here tonight."
Tenma wasn't sure about it, he also had Taiyou at home. Masaki could see the hesitation in his eyes and he knew the answer but asked anyway.
"Text me if you do decide to come since me and the others will be there."
When Tenma got home, he looked around in his room and saw that the orang-haired boy was nowhere around.
"Did he leave?" Tenma wondered. A face was relief appeared on his face. He was alone at last and he didn't need to think about that prince anymore, so he thought. Suddenly the door opened and Tenma turned around and the so called prince took there. He was wearing a pair of glasses and his hair was downward so he looked different but Tenma could tell this boy was the prince.
"You look disappointed to see me, why is that?"
"It's nothing." Tenma said in annoyed tone. Where did you go anywhere?"
"I didn't want to be stuck in your house all day so I got a disguise and went out into the town to check some things out myself."
"How long are you going to stay with me?"
"Why do you care?"
"Because, I have a life." Tenma was getting irritated by Taiyou's way of speaking. This was his house yet he talks like he lives here as well. Well he does but he's only staying for a while. He sure acts different from what the reports say. The real Prince Taiyou is a selfish, wanting things his way, arrogance, there more to that list.
"Hurry up and make dinner."
"Stop tells me what to do?" Even thou Tenma said that he was already heading to the kitchen. Tenma was used it. Every day he comes home from work or school and Taiyou complains that he is hungry so he has no choice but to make dinner, plus he himself is hungry as well. Tenma wished that he never met the prince. He wished he didn't take that job offer at the castle and he wished he didn't help that man but he couldn't refuse. Tenma was just too nice to people including Taiyou since he let him live with him. Well Tenma didn't have any say in that matter since the prince was blackmailing him; if he told anybody he was here he would tell the police that he kidnapped him.
After Tenma was done making the dinner. He set it in the table, to Tenma's surprised Taiyou was helping the brunette out. Tenma didn't think that a prince like him would do something like this.
"What?" Taiyou said when he saw the brunette was staring at him.
"I'm a bit surprised that you're helping out." Tenma replied.
"I can be nice sometimes too." He said. Plus living with you I've been learning a few things that I have never learned before.
"That's right, because royal people have different life than normal people." Tenma should know since he was once like that too, but he was different, he wanted to learn how the commoners lived which shocked his mother a lot but he didn't care it was his life after all and plus if his father was alive he wouldn't mind at all.
"You look exhausted." Taiyou pointed out while they ate their dinner. Taiyou was right the brunette was tired from work and school, and so it goes on. Why do you work so much?"
"If I don't work then I can't pay for things like this apartment and my school fees."
"Why don't you ask your family?" Taiyou asked. You do have a family right." Taiyou was right about that he could always ask for money from his mother but he didn't want his mother to think he needed her help. He chose to live far away from his mother and so to do he also vowed that he wouldn't ask for money or anything, in return his mother allowed him to live in another country but he had to take two people with him, which he wasn't happy about but it was the only way he could leave.
"I want to deal things myself then ask others for help." Tenma said. Taiyou didn't understand the brunette. He worked so many jobs to earn himself a living. Taiyou realized that he never did anything for himself. He always had somebody taking care of him, His parents were always there for him also, they never got angry at anything he did, he was also sure that his parents weren't angry at him right now.
Dinner had finished and Taiyou started watching the television when he saw something that interested him. There was a bunch of people, some were wearing a kimono and others yukata.
"What's that?" Taiyou pointed at the television like he was a little kid who just learned something. Tenma looked at what the orange-haired boy was watching.
"Oh a festival is happening in time so a lot of people are there." Tenma remember Masaki talking about that festival. Masaki told me about that."
"Who's Masaki?" Taiyou asked.
"He's my friend; he was with me at the parade."
"I don't recall." Taiyou said.
"I had a feeling he was going to say that."
"Let's go there." Taiyou said. His face lite up into a smile when he spoke.
"Are you sure what if you are found out?"
"I won't be with this disguise." Taiyou said showing the glasses and black fedora.
"Okay then." Tenma wasn't planning on going since he was worried to leave Taiyou alone, now he didn't have to worry about it.
The two got ready to go. Tenma was now wearing a green and grey hoodie with a bluish green shorts up to the knee. Taiyou came out wearing a long navy blazer with a white shirt inside and black pants.
Tenma couldn't stop staring at Taiyou, no matter what he wears he still stands out because of his clothes. He may have the glasses and hat but even with those he really really stands out. As to answer Tenma's call, it happened. When they got into town where the festival was happening, people were staring, mainly at Taiyou.
"I'm going to let my friends know I'm here." Tenma said as he took his cell phone out and started to text Masaki.
"Are we meeting your friends?" Taiyou asked.
"Yea, since I did tell them that I would tell them if I do come." Tenma replied.
The festival was lively; there were so many people in town who were enjoying themselves.
"Let's go there." Taiyou pointed at a food cart. He never saw so many different food before. The two ended up trying everything and Taiyou seemed to be enjoying himself like any other normal person, nobody found out he was a prince.
"Tenma." The brunette turned around and saw his friends. In the group was Masaki, Shindou, Kirino and even Minamisawa who Tenma hasn't seen for a long time. Tenma didn't think Minami would be here also.
"Tenma-kun." Minami said in a tone that said he wasn't really happy. Who could blame him when Tenma blow him off all those times that he wanted to hang out with him. Tenma didn't have a choice since he was working all those times; he could get it off but didn't want to burden his work if they got busy.
"Minami-san." Tenma couldn't look in the eyes of Minami. The older boy stopped when he noticed the orange-haired boy beside the brunette. He didn't recognize him.
"Who is this?" Minami asked. The other three finally noticed Taiyou when Minami spoke up. They stared at Taiyou.
"He looks a bit familiar." Masaki said. But Masaki couldn't figure where he has met the teen before. But Masaki was sworn he saw the boy before.
"This is my friend Taiyou." Tenma said.
"You have the same name as the prince." Masaki said.
"Did Masaki have to point out everything?"
Taiyou was still eating his snacks when Tenma introduced him as his friend. Tenma first didn't know how to introduce him, since the brunette was sure they were not friends, he was just a stranger living with him. He was the prince; of course Tenma couldn't say that. Tenma exactly didn't know what they were so in the end he introduced him as his friend and the prince didn't seem to care.
"Nice to meet you." Minami said taking out his hand to Taiyou. Taiyou finished his snacks and took out his hand. Tenma had taught him it's always polite to shake hands when you meet somebody new. Nice to meet you." Taiyou took Minami's hand.
"Didn't think you were going to come when Masaki told us?" Shindou said.
"Yea, I changed my mind." Tenma said.
"Since it was Taiyou's idea if he didn't say it I wouldn't be here."
The group went around the festival. Taiyou didn't like the fact that Minami was sticking so close to the brunette. Every time they were this close Taiyou would always butt in.
"Why are you always interrupting us?" Minami asked annoyed.
"I have no idea what you're talking about?" Taiyou smirked. He wasn't going let Tenma be alone with Minami, not on his watch.
"Shindou, do you see the same thing I do?" Kirino asked while the three watched Taiyou and Minami argue about Tenma and the brunette didn't even know about it.
"What are you guys talking about?" Masaki was annoyed. He was the one left out. He didn't understand anything and nobody was explaining to him.
"You wouldn't get it." Kirino laughed at the bluette who was annoyed by his comment.
"Come on tell me what's going on." Masaki yelled.
"You're like Tenma, dense not realizing what is going on." Shindou explained to the younger boy but Masaki just moved his head to side in confusion. What do you mean I'm like Tenma?"
"Don't explain to him since he won't get it since I'm getting a headache just watching you explain." Kirino looked like he really got a headache. Kirino wondered why there were dense people in the world like these two.
The night was ending and finally the event they were waiting for had come. The firework displayed. Taiyou was amazed by it like any other thing. He couldn't help smile at such different and wonderful colors up in the sky.
"Why are so happy about? It's just fireworks." Minami said.
"It's because he has never seen one before." Tenma was happy to see a sight of Taiyou he hasn't seen before, his smiling face. Suddenly Tenma felt a thump.
"What was that?" Tenma looked up at Taiyou then shook the thought away.
"It's so pretty," Taiyou smiled.
The fireworks had finally finished and the two said their Farwell to the group. Minami was annoyed that Tenma and Taiyou were going home together.
"I'm feel so sleepy." Tenma then let out a yawn. He was really tired. They had walked around a lot, Tenma also had fun but all this walking was making the brunette sleepy.
Suddenly Tenma's eyes couldn't take it anymore and his eyes shut closed. Tenma didn't noticed and fell onto Taiyou and caught sight of Tenma. He held the brunette to his chest.
"We did have a long night." Taiyou lifted the brunette up in his arms and started heading toward the boy's apartment.
