Princess, with the help of Yanni took this story and completely changed the plot. It's about to turn into a Drama piece with plenty of angst to come between out Eagle and Swan. Please let me know if it detracts from the story and I'll try to change it back or at least try to get the plot rearranged to follow the original script in my mind. Sometimes I find the characters just want to have their story told.

'Hasqui,' Yanni signalled.

He'd noticed the speeder carrying his eldest brother's family as he exited Juna's room. It approached the house as the late afternoon sun sank towards the horizon. Allowing the women time to greet Mother's first born son properly, Yanni used the intervening hour to investigate his newest sister and her husband. The deeper he delved into their history, the more integrate the web spun by the Federation to protect their agents. Voice, hand and retinal prints unique to the Terrian operatives seamlessly exchanged for the deceased, the Spectran underground must have been involved to gain the far reaching access to live computer records. .

'Little brother,' the older man offered in greeting. After a bear hug, the tall, violet eyed Spectran held Yanni at arm's length. 'I can see by the look in your eye,' Hasqui allowed an eyebrow to rise, 'you have much to tell me. Come, let's find a quiet corner.'

'Why have you returned home so suddenly and unannounced?' Yanni asked, coming to a sudden realisation. Many years absence with only electronic communication, he could now look his brother in the eye. 'You lived and studied in Catartha, the capital city most of my childhood. After your marriage, your wife has not allowed you trips back to your clan.'

'Fifteen years,' Hasqui agreed, 'mixing with the cream of Spectran society. It allows me a certain level of freedom to follow my interests. But you know my history, Yanni, even if you were only three when I left. This is not what you wish to discuss.' When the younger man refused to answer, Hasqui sighed. 'My wife decided to accompany her brother on his latest mission. He has taken charge of the troops in this region personally while I have taken advantage of the opportunity to visit with my Mother.'

'What has attracted such attention in our peaceful region?' Yanni requested.

Smiling, Hasqui studied his brother. 'Full of questions for one so young. Before I answer, tell me why the sudden interest in military politics?'

'The interest,' Yanni retorted, ensuring they'd found a location unable to be overheard, 'is not sudden. Like you, I keep my true allegiance and associations close. Hasqui, please, don't treat me like a child. In the last three years I have put the same intelligence Mother passed to all her son's to good use,' Yanni didn't boast. The expression held certainty in his abilities.

'How is that?' Hasqui enquired, scrutinising the changes in the boy. The soft, almost feminine personality he usually affected gone, his brother stood to his full height. He'd turned into a man with aspirations and a higher purpose in his life. In many ways, Yanni reminded Hasqui of himself at the same age.

'I may not have been to university like the rest of my brothers, yet I speak six languages, including Terran Standard. I can manipulate a computer so even Zoltar's best can't detect my handiwork. I believe I know why you accompanied your wife. It is no great secret why the Military have been moved into this region.'

'What do you know?' Hasqui understood his brother had information.

'The one's Zoltar looks for are in this house. I need your help to arrange their removal,' Yanni stated, imploring Hasqui with his eyes. 'I am also part of the underground you started while a student. If I am correct, the prize this house guards may bring about its downfall if they aren't removed soon. The Federation will stop at nothing to regain two members of G-force.'

'If you are right, Zoltar will stop at nothing to arrest them. We knew them to be important but this,' shaking his head, Hasqui knew it made sense, 'link to G-force, even Zoltar is unaware. Let me accompany you to your room,' he said, pushing his brother towards the elevators. 'It appears we have more to discuss than I first realised and not much time before we are called for evening meal.'

'More than you realise,' Yanni spent the next hour discussing all he knew about Juna and Kenji.

Opening the files on his personal computer, the younger man took secret pictures of the pair while in their room this afternoon. Not only considered an invasion of privacy, he could be arrested for the full facial photos. 'Any who might have known the real individuals suffered in the recent bombings. There are none from Juna's clan left alive to challenge her birthright. The Federation chose her cover story well. No one will be able to identify them personally and those who can pretend are loyal to you. I can only thank The Great Spirit that all pictorial media is outlawed leaving no evidence.'

'Except the news feeds controlled by Zoltar,' Hasqui's anger expressed his feelings. 'Which is mostly propaganda against the Federation and completely untrue. It is designed to keep the general population ill-informed and ignorant. Still it plays into our hands. No one will question their history. The Underground will see to it.' Nodding, Hasqui's mind analysed this new information. 'There are people I must contact. This is a fortunate event with regrettable timing. There is nothing I can do to get Juna and Kenji away from this house in the immediate future. At least her green eyes and dark hair are common enough in the North. She will blend in there. For the moment, let's keep this to ourselves.'

'Brother,' Yanni allowed a secret smile to curl the corner of his lips, 'it becomes obvious you have not met Juna in person. She is quite, quick witted, resourceful and elegant. After talking to her this afternoon, she is formulating a plan. She intends to tell me more at evening meal. I don't think she really needs our help to achieve her goal.'

'We have to play along until the young woman choses to reveal herself,' Hasqui shook his head. 'If this is the intelligence officer of G-force, the plan will be well thought out and easily accomplished. Do not be surprised if Juna uses our culture and society against us. After all you have schooled her well. She is young but has been trained to bring this war to an end by any method at her disposal. I might not know the young lady personally, Yanni, but I know enough of her reputation. It is her companion who worries me. He will not be easily manipulated when at full strength, especially guarding the life of his teammate.'

'What is it you wish me to do?' Yanni asked, watching his brothers' expression carefully.

'You must be the one to bring Juna to the reception,' Hasqui decided. 'Stay with her as long as you can. Report back to me the moment you discover her plan.'

Yanni waited outside the lifts as the family gathered for the evening meal. A few minutes earlier Tanora allowed Juna the time to redress in her Ebque. Thankful she'd read the documents he'd left and understood the cultural taboos, he would remain at her side to ensure she didn't make a mistake before Hasqui's wife.

'Allow me to escort you,' Yanni offered, cornering Juna as she exited the elevator.

Smiling, Princess nodded. 'First,' she requested, 'tell me, is Mother passing Tanora over as head of the clan because she hasn't born a daughter?'

'Yes,' Yanni looked astounded. He hadn't expected the question and it showed on his mobile face. 'To be a clan mother, you must continue the line. My sister cannot do that without a female child.'

'Mother takes Ebona into her confidence. Why?' Princess didn't understand. 'She is the second daughter of a second daughter.'

'We do not speak of the dead,' Yanni hung his head, stopping before the dining room door. 'Yarra bore twin sons before going to The Luminous One. Twins are considered a bad omen, especially if they are of different genders.'

'How often are twins born?' Princess asked.

'Perhaps,' he considered the answer, 'once every million births. It is normal for the mother's to pass with the strain of delivery.'

Allowing the young man to stay at her side, Princess took in a deep calming breath. Plastering a polite smile on her face, she walked into the lion's den with all the courage she could muster. The Swan's performance could end their sanctuary in this house.

Hasqui noticed the moment Juna, accompanied by Yanni entered the hall in her Ebque. Seeing the girl, he knew the ISO chose her history well. She presented as a young woman of her standing should. Mother's hand became obvious in the design of her carefully understated gown.

Signalling her over, Mother started the formal introduction. 'I wish to present you to the newest addition to our family. The Great Spirit has kindly given our house a new daughter. Please allow me to present Juna.'

'Juna,' Hasqui allowed the name to roll off his tongue. Unable to do more than look the young woman over, he allowed a slight smile. Everything he'd discovered this afternoon proved correct. 'That is an usual name for a Flatland's woman.'

'I am Lady June of the Conon Clan of Tandari,' Princess corrected, offering a formal bow. 'I am pleased to make your acquaintance, Hasqui, formerly of the Flatland Clan.' Princess's green gaze analysed the man. Astuteness flowed from him as well as a childish sense of delight. 'Mother has been gracious and kind to offer hospitality. I find myself many days travel from my family lands.'

Tall for a Spectran, his eyes held a lighter shade of violet than is Mother. Not waiting to be introduced to the woman at his side, the Swan executed a perfect courtesan curtsy. 'Lady Mala,' she stated, needing to keep Hasqui's wife and her nemesis off centre.
