Chapter 6

This morning was again another great morning that Jane woke up with the beautiful Dr. Maura Isles in her arms. That was the best thing ever. It was 5:30 am so her initial thought to wake her love up in a particularly unique way was out of the question, knowing they had to be at work in an hour and a half. Instead she decided to take this time to observe her girlfriend. She had the most beautiful, silky hair. Her face was the most perfect shape, cutest little button nose. Staring at her face made Jane remember Maura laughing, her dimples. That had to be the cutest thing on Earth, if not then she had no idea what was. That lead her to those beautiful vanilla mounds which she had to stop looking at before she changed her mind and went ahead with plan A. Jane started to think how everything had changed in the past week. Before she had always just been Maura's best friend and AJ. Now she was Maura's girlfriend. She wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Now Maura was starting to stir, which made sense because Maura liked to get up and make breakfast before work.

"Jane," The little voice said rolling over to face Jane

"Yes sweetheart," they both smiled

"I don't wanna go to work," She snuggled into Jane's shoulder

"But babe, there's dead bodies waiting for you,"

"Ahh they'll be alright. There not going anywhere" She giggled, Jane was actually shocked. She'd never heard Maura talk about her job like that.

"But there killers are, so get up!" She hopped out of bed trying to convince Maura to get up. Jane was used to being the grouchy one.

"Maur, what's wrong?" Maura just rolled back over not answering the question. That concerned Jane, she thought maybe Maura was regretting their relationship. Jane crawled back into bed pulling Maura close.

"Babe, I can't help if you don't tell me what's wrong"

"I'm nervous about telling Blake,"

"Telling him what?"

"About us," Maura looked up at Jane finding comfort in her eyes

"Maur," Jane pulled her even closer "I can tell you Blake will not have a problem with us together."

"How do you know?"

"I've been around him practically his whole life and I'm pretty sure he won't mind us together" Thinking back to the times when Blake would get jealous when Maura would go out with different guys and Jane would stay home and babysit Blake. He would always complain and say that I should be going with his mom and not whoever said guy was. One time there was a guy that Blake liked but he turned out to be a jerk like most of the others. Promising to go to Blake's meets, games, and tournaments and never showing up. Jane always made a point to get to all of Blake's important events because she wanted Blake to know he had more than just his mom, he had a family. The Rizzoli's took him and made him an honorary Rizzoli had love him like he deserved, his mother too.

"Jane, I don't want to shock him."

"Maur! He's 20! If this shocks him we have more to deal with than me and you being together." She chuckled

"Hon, it's gonna be ok. I'm gonna call ma and the guys to make sure they don't tell him. Would you like meet him for lunch so we can tell him?"

"That sounds great!"

"Ok is the cafe fine? So we don't have to go far?"

"Yeah" Maura felt much better now. It was something about talking to Jane.

"Ok I'm gonna call everybody, K?"

"Thank you," Maura grabbed Jane's face a gave her a thankful, loving kiss

"Your welcome" Jane smiled

After getting to work they had two cases. Frankie was working with Blake so he could start to get a feel for the department. They were standing in the bullpen looking over the board.

Jane came in "Blake,"

"AJ!" Blake cleared his throat realizing that he was a little loud "Umm I mean Detective Rizzoli," Everyone in the room kind of snickered, including Jane

"Come here,"

"Yes?" A little embarrassed

"Your mom and I wanna have lunch with you today so we can talk to you about something"

"Oh really? What is it?"

"Uh, I have to tell you with your mom. It's good, I promise" Detective Rizzoli smiled

"Oh ok, I kinda had plans but I wanna hear what this is"

"Ok, you sure?" Jane asked

"Yeah, positive" Blake smiled

"Alright I'll see you at 12!"

"Ok," Blake started to walk back to the board

"Oh and Blake," Jane called out to him

"Yeah,"

"Watch your vocal levels" Jane laughed, Frost and Korsak did too

"Jane, leave the little one alone!" Frankie defending his friend

"Ah, he'll be alright!"

"You guys I got the address of the suspect, wanna roll?" Frost spoke up

"Yeah let's go"

Once they got back it was time for lunch. Jane and Blake walked into the cafe

"Hey, Blake you pick a table and I'll down and get your mom?"

"Sounds good!"

"I'll be right back"

Jane walked to the elevator to go down and get the ME. Once down she went to Maura's office. She walked up to see the beautiful blonde looking on her laptop. Jane knocked at the door.

"Can I come in?" Jane asked as Maura looked up to see the detective

"Of course!"

"You ready for lunch?" Jane asked walking over to Maura's desk

"Yeah baby, let me just get my purse first" Maura stood up greeting the raven haired beauty with a kiss

"Well hello!" Jane was very happy with that greeting

Once they were in the elevator headed back up to lunch Maura had been thinking

"So, who's telling him?"

"Well we both are, Maur right?"

"Oh ok yeah, I thought so just wanted to double check," Maura was tapping her foot and her palms were sweaty

"Maur? It's gonna ok, alright? I'm right here ok?" Jane opened her arms for a hug

"Ok, let's do it" Then the elevator doors opened to Frost and a uniform staring at them, eyes wide from the sight.

"Ok guys, put your eyes back in your head," Everybody at the station thought they were together. Normally Jane would have cared but at this point she really could care less.

"Hey Jane, watch were you do that alright?" Frost just looking out for his partner and friend

"Yeah, yeah Frost" Walking away from the two, standing closer to Maura than she ever did at work.

Once they got back to the cafe and found where Blake was sitting they got ready to take their orders.

"Ok, mom, AJ you gotta tell me what's up. There's no way I can wait any longer! I just may explode!" Blake blurted out. Jane and Maura couldn't help but laugh

"Blake William I swear, you are just like your father at times, so impatient," Maura told her son. Blake beamed at the statement that he was like his father. Even though he only knew him for a small period in his life for the stories his mother told, he absolutely adored him. I wanted to grow up and be just like him. A family man serving his country.

"Ok ok let's tell him before he explodes" AJ giggled

"So Blake," Maura grabbed Blake's hand from across the table "AJ and I have decided to start a relationship," Maura grabbed Jane's hand for support. Blake had this blank stare on this face. They couldn't tell what his emotions were towards this new step in their relationship.

"Hey buddy, this doesn't change-"

"WHOO! Oh Yeah! This is the best day of my life!" Blake stood up and exclaimed, very loudly for the environment they were in. He wrapped them both in a hug. Jane was laughing uncontrollably and Maura was looking and Blake like he had lost he's mind!

"Blake William Isles! Lower your voice!" Maura sternly corrected her son which she never did. Her mother always did it to her and she hated it so she tried to refrain from it with her son.

"Oh sorry Mom. I'm just really, really happy for you too. I've wanted this for a long time"

"Well, we have too," Jane told her nephew, squeezing Maura's hand
